Education / Re: JAMB Cut-off Marks : Sad Decision For The Future – ASUU by blimeyVic(m): 3:57pm On Aug 26, 2017
Hello Nigerians, the cut-off wasn't reduced
to favour any part of the country.

It was introduced to help government ( the present administration) generate more funds for executing capital projects nationwide .

It would have a temporary "contractionary" effect on the economy, but in the long-run, things should get better.

Ignore any calls for mass protest against the development.

The universities would not admit more than the
installed facilities can carry.
And if Your ward gets 121 as a jamb score, that's Your failure to supervise their academic activities.
# Cut-offs mean nothing. There are many students in schools who aren't motivated enough to take lectures seriously.

Crime / Re: Police Shoot Notorious Armed Robber Dead In Okigwe,Imo State(photo) by blimeyVic(m): 12:22am On Apr 18, 2017
Rest in Peace. Both the murderer and the murdered. If only the society would awaken to the responsibility of calling anybody's child everybody's child, we would live in a peaceful place.

These blood-sucking rascals begin their practice in secondary schools, stealing and bullying other students.
Then, they graduate into cultism at Universities, using force to obtain other students belongings.

Who wouldn't want to live long like the cat with 9 lives? so they obtain Charms and bullets can do them no harm.

Why be so sophisticated and still settle for phone snatching and other petty crimes? So they form robbery and kidnapping gangs.

Instead of waiting to kill these once innocent children when they go bad, we should focus on nurturing them in the right path to life. We should examine the chain and know at which juncture it is best to nip things - when the individual is wielding a wooden club or when they are stroking an Ak47 rifle like a Spanish guitar.

An Advice given, school fees paid ,or food given to/for a vulnerable child would help save lives - The life of the murderer and the murdered.

Govt should have a 50-50 approach to the education of both the male and female child.

Rest in Peace Enyioha.

I love the fact that Mark has come to visit Nigeria. It shows that the little psychology he did in school really "Sank In". Lol!! Now,he doesn't just exist on a common Facebook Profile as the Rich founder of the platform,he has come in person to prove the fact that real life friends are more cherished than fake e-friends. This means that people will be more loyal to the Facebook platform than ever - that's good marketing to weaken any competition and ensure he keeps making more money .
And did I hear someone say " he was walking on the streets like any other construction worker", I wish!!
John Kerry was in Nigeria some weeks back, that means that "smart" security must have been planned to cover both Kerry and Mark over this period of time,in other to guarantee their safety as well as save costs. These people work with technology to forecast trends, provide surveillance, and do a lot of tiny and complex things many dollar-bearing empty-headed Nigerian politicians would hire 5000 thugs and juju priests to carry out for them.
In a typical Nigerian setting, no proper planning will be done for resources to be conserved. Instead, 5000 youth corpers will be enrolled into teaching programmes, only to be sacked later cos another counter-policy stipulates that every teacher must be certified and must have passed through a recognised college of education.
OMG!! May God grant us a second chance to truly build our nation on the foundation of functional education .

With the current drama playing out in our so-called major political parties ( ApC & pdP), it goes a long a way to show how much our political class is riddled with men of little worth. Why on earth should party men be up against each other even after securing power? Some group of people in ApC trying to dethrone Saraki, and Ogah at the other end battling with Ikpeazu. Shouldn't it be that men of the same ideology form parties, Conduct primaries, Win general elections and forge ahead as one? Well, the only ideology I presume has united the mix we have today, pathetically, is that to loot public funds. And also witch-hunting a few and turning a blind eye to many littered around isn't the right manner to exhibit a high character.

No doubt. In quanTity, they might have it. However,in quaLity? The Easterners can only come out of mediocrity,in all spheres of their lives, only through careful examination of their "monetized" ignorant way of living, and not necessarily by the Creation of a new state. Lol!! Senator Ben Bruce speaking. No doubt, there are droplets of very smart brains existing in the mentioned states, but oga STV,please be careful when drawing such conclusions. These states are the most corrupt when it comes to examination malpractice, especially Abia and IMO. Believe me. In 100 graduates holding a degree from an institution in Abia state, 85 are unemployable,12 are half-baked,and the remaining 3 can match,if not beat, any of their colleagues in the rest of Nigeria. However, your hypothesis can be accepted, only if you are judging based on paper qualification.

Family / Re: My Parents Are Driving Me Crazy! by blimeyVic(m): 4:40pm On Jan 23, 2016
According to the book of st.Paul chapter 1 on 1 vs 247," no man is ever free until he is financially free". Need freedom from your parents? Focus on your studies, work harder,go for your youth service, from there never look back, because those who will cross the ocean must lose sight of the shore. Be thankful always to your parents for their sacrifices though, because some peeps out there wish they have just one out of the two. Life is all about people, teams, and networks. Do you feel you have a poor network ? Review your inner circle, where are your uncles, aunts, old and new school mates, old and new friends? (Re)connect with them if you must, you will be needing them upon graduation. When your parents see that apart from the 400k salary job they can secure you, that you have a long string of options to choose from, even when less lucrative, they will start appreciating the change mantra. Dads would remember that ' nwoke tochaa o chere Ibe ya', and mums? She will discard the thoughts of forcing a particular girl on you for marriage. Take time now to develop yourself cos freedom might be tricky if you lack principles, the singular fact that will make you move back to your parent's house after cutting the umbilical cord.
The reason you feel boxed in is because the Man in you is beginning seek freedom away from the usual. Manage this feeling with wisdom while under another man's roof.
Lol! It will be unmanly to ask them to accord you some respect and freedom, and still come back in a tick asking for money to buy new school bag. So don't utter a word, just work.

Hmmm!! Back in school,I once had a roomie.
We were cool at first,we ate, joked, walked to school together, and all was fine. Then, things started changing few months into our roomie-lationship.
Our lifestyles were worlds apart. He had a long list of girlfriends -new and old- and kept importing them in turns,on weekly basis, and this meant I slept outside the room regularly. I wasn't into girls,so I hardly had the opportunity to pay him back in his own coin. But lol! I remember when i threatened to stop his importation business and he went as far as washing my clothes to please the gods. Needless to say,he wasn't serious with his studies. So it got to a point that he scheduled for a babe to come over, just two weeks to our exams, tut tut! I wasn't going to take it again. I sternly refused and that cost us our rapport till after exams and weeks into the next semester. Though I had my foibles too,but I readily apologised and worked on it thereafter. After my stay with him in our 85k apartment for a year, I calmly left and settled for a 40k room, though it was far from school, I had a rest of mind staying alone. Having had that experience, I resolved to have only a female as a room mate ever again in my lifetime. Unless you live like a 'Usual' guy, some guys are a mess to live with.
Others might pleasant stories to tell.

Religion / Re: 7 Things That Change When We Follow Christ by blimeyVic(m): 6:15pm On Jan 03, 2016
grin grin

The best thing that can happen to any man,is to be in Christ. By this I don't mean attending church services, joining the choir, cleaning the church premises, being the youth leader, and suchlike. Christ is Love and in him you find true peace. The OP has contributed very immensely, and in addition, when truly in Christ,we expressly show LOVE to everyone we meet, sinner or believer, We LOVE them into our fold. Not bomb them,or engage them in a holy war.
After reading a Sunnewspaper columnist's write-up on plurality of religion for We Africans to better understand our being and further find lasting solution to our many problems,I spent a couple of days in deep thoughts. Just as he declared,he writes for ' Mature Minds'. Then, while in church, I started critically analysing every word of the preacher, picturing Christ to have been a philosopher that once walked the face of Earth, and ultimately gradually losing my faith. But one exceptional fact reinforced my belief. For sure, there is an all-knowing God whom has caused every thing to come into existence, but to get to him,we need a channel. According to the columnist, our fore-fathers did wrong by not documenting any of their religious practices or norms thereby giving room for the Christian missionaries to overshadow them with their own religion(channel to God),however,it remains that no babalawo, cultist, dibia mkpakwukwo, dibia anya-nzu etc will ever make open his ways for all to know, neither will they give without demanding for a sacrifice. They always need body parts, animals, or human blood for various sacrifices to be offered to their 'loveless' gods (channel to God).
But then, after all considerations, here is Christ whom has come, overcome, and lives on,asking us to come unto him and share Grace made abundant by His supreme sacrifice on the cross of Calvary . A Spirit Being giving his life for Us to be saved, that by the mention of His name,JESUS,every knee must bow - and they are still bowing till forever. Incredible! How else can Love be shown than leaving in Us 'power to conquer back and forth. The columnist might have been scholarly in his so-called mature writing, but the loving LOVE shown to mankind by Christ Jesus (the only reliable channel to God) has left me unshaken in my Christian life, and sure will be beneficial to everyone that takes the step of Faith to come into Him.

#No LOVE,No religion.
#Christ in Me,the glory is here.

Each time I see a girl child being given out in marriage,My heart cries out. And perpetrators of this evil act hide behind their so-called religion and customs. What's love actually? Why won't a Father let her daughter become mature and choose her spouse independently, not being handed over to someone ordained by the parents.
This issue is a Big challenge for everyone. Let's unite to clamp down this bad ideology adversely affecting our little Sisters. Those female activists jam-packed in Lagos should come up with initiatives that will help break-up this act. It can be done if we start from a local government. The WOMEN in the North need to be liberated from Evil, educated, and powerful mEN.

Sanusi's daughter is beautiful, but is her dad wearing a high-heeled shoe that there exists a noticeable difference in height? Or is the girl simply under-aged ?

#Lets Unite to stop this sacrifice.
