Well,I registered because the website comes up with ease, the audience is big, government is actually reading or snooping,I hate the unilateral style of communication newspapers offer, I basically need to hear and be heard and possibly cause a ''positive' change' , mix of issues are discussed here, and other thingummies I hardly can state. This is good news. With three different political parties in the same geo-political zone, rolling up sleeves to work for the masses in order to campaign for votes favourably next electoral season would definitely be the one and only option for the current crop.
This state of fierce competitiveness would definitely bring efficient and better standard of living to the average Igbo man,as perceived, thus, needless the march for an independent State.

In view of this, Mr President should please/biko consider giving Nnamdi Kanu a pardon. 'Exile' him to McDonald's restaurant in Paris if you wish. He got tired of the one in London, became excited, and tried to turn our land to present day Syria. He also tried to 'form' Mandela. Yes! he is guilty, but biko forgive him
My President. Alex Oti has won,Dr Orji uzor Kalu will win the rerun;these are our Men and we are
Sure of development. In other words, the streets of Aba are not going to be occupied anymore. PLEASE RELEASE Nnamdi Kanu.

ronald4lif:
Mr. Toks you have a disjointed view about single mum and I think that's borne out of ignorance.

A single mum deserves men of equal status just like single ladies and there are blizzard of marriages between single mums and men without kids.

Your assertion of single ladies looking into the direction of single daddies for companionship is not only berating but portrays them as rejects and further stigmatise them in the society. The world evolves beyond Nigeria where such mentality exist and understands that there are better core values to look out for in a woman than motherhood status.

We consciously harangue single mums and makes them feel dejected but would also dismiss the idea of abortion. I understand a woman shouldn't get pregnant outside wedlock but there would always be accidental pregnancies and if we're to chide single mums then expect the rate of abortion to grow. Let's be careful of what we wish for.

And just a quick question; should single dad stop looking at single ladies and focus more on single mums too?

Your opinion is quite thoughtful and noteworthy. However,I think the message OP is trying pass across is that, the best and most convenient place to find a yoruba lady is in yoruba land, not that you won't find one in the creeks, but the chances of finding one is higher near ota farm.
And as for your question on the single dad scenario, lol, some say it's a man's world, though I think differently, but Sanusi the Emir recently married a beautiful damsel, and might marry a pregnant lady next,if he chooses to.
In all I think the OP is only helping our unmarried lovely NIGERIAN ladies segment the mix appropriately and know best whom to target in time. Âny rare occurrence is just 'JARA'.

I'm glad someone holds this opinion.
Though I would say that the write-up is motivated basically by the current financial trend in the society, and not age bracket as someone earlier pointed out,but apparently, the OP's 'opinion' stems from what is obtainable in our society, both culturally, and otherwise. Somewhere in France, two teenagers might just fall in love and decide to tie the nuptial knots the following months;that's their system. On the contrary, that rarely happens here, calculate your school fees+baby's diaper+hospital bills+etc and common sense would force you to look the other way, while your french counterpart definitely has some government packages that allows him to school and pay later when employed, supports mother and child through and after child birth, etc.
In the same vein, our culture limits most relationships from holding. Compare a situation where Davido won't even marry Sophia whom he had carefully or carelessly put in the family way, and where Nick cannon(sic) married mariah carriah(sic) just because he fancied her.

So OP,I think you made a valid contribution with this one. Especially No.1. Parents should advice their girls better because its always due to their mismanagement of their little beginnings that they end up not taken by age 40.
And those hoping to get married come 2016, the OP's wise words should be enough for you.

I really don't care a lot about what Mr president is doing or not doing now,but I'm placated by the fact that a government whose younger cohorts are/were keenly waiting to take over from their elders to continue looting our country blind has been booted out. I am not perturbed by the present, but the future. I strongly believe President Buhari, whom at 70+ has nothing to lose but a good standard to set, is working tirelessly to ensure a perfect foundation is laid for our nation's future to be the best ever imagined. Presently, worker's salaries may not have been paid, the U17 lads may not have been rewarded adequately, fuel might still be scarce, but surely the future is brighter and clearer with hopes to spring forth steady growth for our dear nation, and this is,after proper house-keeping.
Hmmm, with PDPithes? Those ones? Share the money, share the bags of rice, share the groundnut oil, palm oil and cassava bread, make sure everyone is chopping. Chopping both fruit and seed with gay-abandon,and living only for the present with no articulated plan for the future - Bogus Growth Indices.

ReachHard:
Another way of rephrasing this question goes like this,

"Guys, can you marry a good-looking, good-mannered babe who can't cook?" grin

#ToughAsHell

Yes to a good-looking,well-mannered lady who can't cook but truly wants to feed her family from her pot and is steady at it.
The fact is:
Some ladies can cook but won't make out time for preparing meals/don't love cooking. This type only serve you the best on your first visit to her house and 2 months into marriage and then, the rest is history.
Some ladies not only cannot cook but also dislike the idea of cooking. They will pretend to be busy in the kitchen only to dish out a watery soup with undone 'animals' in it, and the eba so sticky eh!!. Tut tut!! After that attempt, they will ensure you only meet up outdoors where they 'saintly' suggest all types of delicacies for you, thinking you are unaware of their yeye lapses.
Then the group of ladies I strongly recommend for all guys on nairaland, aren't superb cooks but will go upandan seeking out the best methods/recipe to put a nice meal together and steadily, keeps improving at it. Though not remanded in the kitchen, this set of ladies see feeding their families themselves one of Their priorities, which if not done, leaves them worried.

Please ladies,Most guys are clueless until you come into their lives. Make an educated-but-poor guy fall deeply in love with you by according him all the respect and privileges his rich counterparts enjoy from there significant other. When out with him, admire other better-off ladies so he will notice that you sure know what you are missing but still choose to stick with him. That's no problem if the car is insured.
And this calls for urgent review of our individual policies on protecting our properties, and life too.
Without being insured, the car automatically becomes a liability to the owner, but on the contrary, with a good insurance coverage, say Lead way insurance,he would have his ignorant neighbours calling him a ritualist when the car is replaced.

Lesson learnt: Insure your property today, with a token, for a secure tomorrow. That it hasn't happened doesn't mean it can't happen.

Politics / Re: Boko Haram: Is The December Deadline Realistic? by blimeyVic(m): 10:04pm On Nov 30, 2015
Very Unrealistic. What should even warrant a country that ignores its Universities of Technology to make such heavy demands from its armed forces? It is not enough to buy weapons from outta town, then handing it over to soldiers only trained on how to shoot anything with blood in its veins. Does the Government know it has a course like Project Management Technology, which will consider holistically the efforts of curbing this menace, and other vital & goal-oriented but less sung of courses thought in its universities of technology? I remember when a certain country declined selling a particular special-purpose aircraft to Nigeria,on the grounds of possible abuse of its capabilities, funny. Putin threatens to erase any country that shoots at HIS Planes in operation from the face of the earth, and I am left to wonder if Russian historians, political scientists, musicians, lawyers, politicians, etc will be on ground to achieve such a daring feat.
The Nigerian Government of the day should go back, with adequate Funds, to the Universities of technology in order to enable us deal like a 21st century entity. Enough of all these noise-makers-without-action in our polity,if possible, close down some of these unreasonable social-oriented courses, and channel the resources towards technology-based courses. To say less.

Lmao!! Quite hilarious. Don't blame these folks anyway. Examine the level of education in our country and Cry for NIGERIA,as a consequence, these producers churn out what will sell in the Naija market predominantly characterised by the semi/total illiterate man. Also, imagine when a producer invests huge sums in making a good movie only to end up selling 10,000 copies while a jobless pirate in Lagos out-sells him by 400000,OMG,how do we expect him to hit the zone where total revenue exceeds total cost.
Well also to blame is the past and present governments for being ignorant of the huge potential the movie industry offers for the growth of the economy and job creation likewise.
Imagine when a good designer is employed to design that outfit?
If Buhari wants to make a mark on curbing corruption,he should look no further but strengthening and enforcing, fiercely, the copyright law in Nigeria. Chasing 'some' corrupt politicians upandan will CHANGE nothing, because no man truly bites the finger that fed him. Direct your energy where it positively affects the masses the Most. Good or Bad. All Nigerians can do now is pray and fast for our President. He is going to be there for the next coming years, and together we will experience whatever the outcome will be. Electioneering 'ish' is over and we should unite to move Nigeria forward, both for us and the next generation unborn. making silly and un-constructive comments would definitely amount to nothing meaningful. Let's love our country and its leaders for once and see how things turn out. If we unite and not focus on trivial issues,we can achieve laudable results together,we can stop lecturers from collecting sorting money from south-eastern students rendering them brainless and unemployable in the process and forging them into pawns to be used in the March for a sovereign Biafran state, we can help liberate our northern younger sisters from child marriage and menace of suicide bombing helping them exude the true beauty of womanhood at maturity,we can leverage on the massive heterogeneous population in the WEST to greatly harness its potentials,to mention but a few. Nigerians will never find a true Home beyond the shores of Nigeria. Not in the UK,China,Malaysia,or even Canada. Let's work together. A mouth-running politician has only but one vote. His own.

Young girls troop in,rent a house with their Capital, get a regular job to disguise their real occupation, then go after married men with their charms sometimes in form of make-up they wear(only if 'any' man sets their eye on them and dare nurture an iota of craving for them, then he is locked down;meal ticket for life).

Current 300 level student profile/MO:
1)WAkes up around 7am with an empty bottle of bear hanging in one hand,a side-chick resting her head on his chest and shreds of latex made thingummies littered all over.
2)drags himself up/freshens up/gets dressed/swaggers down to school for lectures with a 20leaves general notebook :7-9:30am
3)exchanges banalities with co-jokers and sits on his throne right at the back of the hall from where he hauls silly remarks till the rest of the day.
4)takes out no time to read and study.
5)eventually sneaks in the lecturer's study guide(material) into the exam hall which he dubs word to word.
6)comes out fulfilled and jeering at the one 'over-serious' student that studied only his regular lecture note for the exam because he couldn't make adequate arrangements to get the required material for the course(and this dude got a C).
