What you fools who think only you are in possession of brains to UNDERSTAND SUBSIDY don't get is that Nigerians are not totally in disagreement of the removal but are against the sharp cut-over without any cushion or palliatives to accommodate the sudden shock. What the VOODOO ECONOMISTS should have advised Jonathan is a GRADUAL/PHASED implementation! This is after providing a bit of evidence as regards social/economic infrastructure like "Work-in-Progress" Refineries etc etc.

Don't come here and act as if it is only you that was born with brains bigger than 95% of Nigerians!!
OK, exactly how much time do u need? 60-70years?  huh
The removal of oil subsidy is affecting most people's thinking ability; folks are finding it difficult to think straight.
Well for how long did they expect to carry on with the falsehood they were living? Surely, the subsidies could not have gone on forever and was only a matter of time before the system was dismantled?

This is the type of weird post on the front page am talking about. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-838685.0.html Are dey laughing at us?
Politics › Re: Nigerians In The Uk Cleared For Fuel Subsidy Protest On Friday 6th by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 3:51pm On Jan 04, 2012
@ Babe, Sanity has graced the thread,  I didn't want to say anything becos from the post i am seeing in the front page and politics section, it is clear people have lost their mind.

Let them protest in the UK, so the British can complain of too many foreigners in their country with cases as such protest to point as example.

These Nigerians are really daft. sad
Politics › Re: When Will There Be A Mass Protest Against Corruption? by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 3:06pm On Jan 04, 2012
ekwah:
Jonathan says subsidy, it is bad for the masses and people are rising up against it. Why haven't we had such a solid stand or a massive bitter protest against corrupt officials, our archenemies, all these years huh huh Our lukewarm attitude toward the main issues of this country really pisses me off angry. How greatly saddened I become when I see childish comments some people here make about corruption, at some point I am  almost made to believe that most Nigerians see it as the inevitable or a way of life!
Gbam a mass protest on corruption would unite us all o.
Politics › Re: The Economist On Naija Fuel Subsidies by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 2:13pm On Jan 04, 2012
Gbawe:
This is the problem some of us have and will continue to have with GEJ. In so far as he wants to pander to or abet corruption, perhaps because he is sponsored by it, then we are not going anywhere and his Presidency will be a failure. This is why some of us resisted the candidacy of GEJt begin with. We did not want a President who would be dead on arrival via being sponsored into power by those who need corruption to thrive everywhere so that affairs remain "business as usual". Well, this is precisely what has happened. Our greatest fears are now coming to pass with how the President is firmly averting his gaze away from the AGIPs and jobbers to fix his stare on overburdened Nigerians.
So on this thread we are in agreement that the fuel subsidy is not the main concern but corruption? Well, let us now be active citizens via demanding infrastructure for subsidies from this government. By the time we make good with demands they will have no money left for their extra pockets.  cool
Politics › Re: Govt Assures On Lower Oil Price by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 1:46pm On Jan 04, 2012
THE Federal Ministry of Finance has assured Nigerians that the high prices of petrol following the January 1, 2012 full deregulation of the down- stream sector would come down drastically with the new fuel delivery arrangement.
U see, why it is good for an illiterate country like Nigeria to have a PHD holder for President? GEJ u are making history and will be remember for your sincerity and efforts to develop this country via leading us in the way of being productive rather than beggars. Thank you GEJ.

If you are spending 7 billion a year on fuel subsidy and 1.4 billion alone goes to Oando, then how on earth can this be a sensible policy for uplifting the common man?

Damn.

So of this 7 billion, Oando and the rest take their share, Benin, Cameroon, Niger Republic take their cut.

How much does the average guy actually see. 10%? 20%?
Exactly, my point on this issue. Clearly, Nigerians have been living a false life. We welcome the committee set up to monitor the use of the money for Nigerians or na me go lead protest.

Politics › Re: Shocking Police Brutality On An Occupy Lagos Protester by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 12:49pm On Jan 04, 2012
The way Nigeria police conduct themselves is appalling. Can u imagine beating a human being that hard in the hot sun? Why are Nigerians mindless bastards? It begs the question if the Europeans were right with their sub-human theory?

U have apprehended a protester, one or two strikes if he resist arrest then collectively u put him in a van. Do u have to beat him to a pulp and put him under the vehicle? Same yesterday, they killed a protester and am guessing he was conducting himself appropriately in a group of orderly citizens?

Nigeria Armed forces need not understand we Nigerians are their priority and not already secure politicians.

I still think the protesters are amateurs, i mean wat have Nigerians been doing over the last 10 years?  Why are people over-reacting now and calling for protest? For how long did they expect to continue this falsehood they are profiteering and at wat expense?

Nigerians should wake up this 2012 please.
Politics › Re: Why Are There No Subsidy Protests In The SE/SS Oil Producing States? by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 7:58pm On Jan 03, 2012
@ Beaf, perhaps the gov should have set a maximum price(price fixing) for certain key sectors of the economy to avoid anarchy certain sections of the country are keen to ascertain via wild pricing?
Politics › Re: Fuel Subsidy Removal Protest Going On In Lagos? by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 3:51pm On Jan 03, 2012
Nice to see Nigerians are exercising their freedom of expression. This is just one big waste of time becos subsidies is gone for good. They need to wake up from the falsehood they were living and focus on industrializing their economy which will eventually drive down the price of petrol.

The subsidy system was unsustainable and Nigeria could do with the annual investment of that money outside national budget on infrastructure nationwide.
Politics › Re: How Boko Haram Made Money From Fuel Subsidy by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 1:37pm On Jan 03, 2012
iskoki:
Fellow Nigerians, bokoharam are able to purchase weapons and other materials through resources they got from oil diversion. Many of these Islamic extremists in the far north have their networks in Niger and Chad, when they divert petrol bought at 63naira in Nigeria, it is then smuggled outside and sold at over 170naira if you convert the rate.

Through these monies, arms and ammunition are then bought. Sometimes the petrol is bartered directly for bullets and explosives in Chad. One tanker can provide you with over 50. submachine guns and hundreds of thousands of Russian and Eastern European made live munitions brought in via Algeria, Libya and Sudan.

I'll type more later, i don't want to get caught.
THIS IS ON POINT. NIGERIANS ARE SO DUMB. IF POORER AFRICAN NATIONS CAN PAY MORE MONEY FOR PETROL , THEN WHY NOT NIGERIA IN EXCHANGE FOR BETTER INFRASTRUCTURE.

OIL IS STILL CHEAPER IN NIGERIA WITHOUT SUBSIDY THAN UK. JUST HOLD THIS GOV ACCOUNTABLE TO INVEST EVERY PENNY IN NIGERIA FOR NIGERIANS OUTSIDE ANNUAL BUDGET EXPENSES.

ACCUMULATIVELY, THE BENEFITS WILL BE VISIBLE TO ALL AND WEN ECONOMY DEVELOP WE CAN HAVE SUBSIDY BACK.

The most dangerous enemy to fight is a fearless one.
Can anyone identify a member of the Boko Haram in public?
They go to mosque to worship and return home.
Nigerian soldiers are ransacking homes for weapons, but they would have moved their weapons since they are more nomadic than the Nigerian infantry.

Igbos in the north should not let Boko Haram and the Nigerian Armed Forces toy with their lives.

When Hausas warn you that they will attack you, they usually do so. But they will catch you unawares.
GBAM, I know talk am but they say is silly post. Naija is wicked, both people and country.
