The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the suspension of rail services across the country for this weekend’s elections.
The NRC spokesman, Mahmood Yakubu, who confirmed the development to journalists on Tuesday in Lagos, said the train services would be suspended from February 25 to February 27.
The suspension, according to Yakubu, was to enable Nigerians to participate in the presidential and National Assembly elections slated for February 25.
The affected train services are the Abuja-Kaduna, Warri- Itakpe, Lagos-Ibadan, and Lagos-Ijoko interstate mass transit network.
“Normal train services will resume from Tuesday, February 28,” the spokesman added. Source: https://www.ripplesnigeria.com/nrc-suspends-train-services-for-2023-elections/?amp |

I thought you have sense before, but now I can see you are a senseless and foolish person, with bad-mannered attitude Your senseless ramblings have proven you to be a liar and your lack of reading comprehension skills. You failed to cite the laws you showed prostitution is illegal. When challenged to cite laws you show irrelevant laws to the discussion and makeup nonsense to justify that foolishness. Lol it's easy to debunk you when your can't even keep your story straight. I give you one more chance to simply cite the laws. It's not that hard if you're not lying. Considering you refuse to post the text if the law it seems you are. 1nice: Generally, in Nigeria, there is no federal enactment that expressly prohibits prostitution. 1nice: Southern Region, and the Penal Code Act applicable in the Northern Region, do not have an express provision prohibiting prostitution. |

Lol your long winded responses shows you're good at rambling and not much else. I said you contradicted yourself multiple times and can't cite a law showing prostitution to be illegal then you admit there's no law banning it federally or under state law. If you claim Sharia law bans prostitution cite it or shut up. Your arguments about section 223 are foolish because it applies to girls under 18 the rest of the laws are about coercion not about prostitution itself. 1nice: Ban Prostitution and Brothels in Nigeria now. Destroy Brothels in Nigeria immediately. All prostitutes in Nigeria should be arrested immediately for breaking the law of Nigeria: the Constitution of Nigeria prohibit adultery and everyday prostitutes commite adultery and prostitutes conspire with someone to commit adultery which is against the Constitution of Nigeria.
Prostitution is not legalized in Nigeria and remains a criminal act: so anyone patronizing prostitutes is breaking the Nigeria law and mustt face the consequences. 1nice: Generally, in Nigeria, there is no federal enactment that expressly prohibits prostitution. 1nice: Southern Region, and the Penal Code Act applicable in the Northern Region, do not have an express provision prohibiting prostitution. 1nice: However, under the Sharia Law which is a native law applicable in the Northern Region, prostitution amounts to an illegal act. |
Politics › Re: Nigerians Protesting Because They Wants Nigeria Government To Ban Brothels by Blue3k(m): 7:40pm On Feb 18, 2023 |
Your lies are being exposed. You didn't cite the laws you're referring showing prostitution between adults to be illegal in state or federal law or constitutionally. Don't forget to cite Penal Code you're referring to. We're not talking about child sex trafficking, rape or abduction so the criminal Code sections you referenced are irrelevant to the conversation. Let's try this again cite the laws that ban prostitution. You failed miserably because you didn't even bother reading what was written before rushing to post. 1nice: You are the one contradicting yourself.
Prostitution is illegal in all northern states that practise Islamic Penal Code. In southern Nigeria, the activities of pimps or madams, or underage prostitution and the operation or ownership of brothels are penalized under section 223, 224 and 225 of the Nigerian Criminal Code.
Section 223:
“Procuration”
“Any person who procures a girl or woman who is under the age of eighteen years to have unlawful carnal connection with any other person or persons either in Nigeria, elsewhere or procures a woman or girl to become a common prostitute either in Nigeria, elsewhere or procures a woman or girl to leave Nigeria with intent that she may become an inmate of a brothel elsewhere procures a woman or girl to leave her usual place of abode in Nigeria, intent that she may, for the purposes of prostitution, become an inmate of a brothel either in Nigeria or elsewhere, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for two years. A person cannot be convicted of any of the offences defined in this section of this Code upon the uncorroborated testimony of one witness. The offender may be arrested without warrant Nigeria or elsewhere, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for two years. A person cannot be convicted of any of the offences defined in this section of this Code upon the uncorroborated testimony of one witness. The offender may be arrested without warrant
Section 224:
Procuring defilement of woman by threats or fraud, or administering drugs”
“Any person who by threats or intimidation of any kind procures a woman or girl, to have unlawful carnal connection with a man either in Nigeria or elsewhere or by any false pretence procures a woman or girl to have unlawful carnal connection with a man either in Nigeria or elsewhere or administers to a woman or girl, or causes a woman or girl, to take, any drug or other thing with intent to overpower her in order to enable any man, whether a particular man or not, to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for two years. A person cannot be convicted of any of the offences defined m this section upon the uncorroborated testimony of one witness.”
Section 225:
“Abduction of girl under eighteen with intent to have carnal knowledge”
“Any person who, with intent that an unmarried girl under the age of eighteen years may be unlawfully carnally known by any man, whether a particular man or not, takes her or causes her to be taken out of the custody or protection of her father or mother, or other person having the lawful care or charge of her, and against the will of such father or mother or other person, is guilty of a misdemeanour and is liable to imprisonment for two years. It is a defence to a charge of any of the offences defined in this section of this Code to prove that the accused person believed, on reasonable grounds, that the girl was of or above the age of eighteen years.” |

Wow, how you managed to contradict yourself multiple times in your post is amazing. FIRST you tells people want the federal government to ban prostitution, then you say it's unconstitutional, then you tell us it's illegal stating there's legislation already. Can you cite the laws and section of the Constitution you're referring to? 1nice: Nigerians have been Protesting for a long time now because they want Federal Government Of Nigeria to banned Prostitution and Brothels in Nigeria.
Nigerians to continue their protests and riots across the 36 States of Nigeria till the Federal Government Of Nigeria grant their request. 1nice: All prostitutes in Nigeria should be arrested immediately for breaking the law of Nigeria: the Constitution of Nigeria prohibit adultery and everyday prostitutes commite adultery and prostitutes conspire with someone to commit adultery which is against the Constitution of Nigeria.

Hopium: Forget story.
Everyone knows Tinubu will be better than Buhari times 10, that aside.
Someone like Wamakko is locking down a whole geopolitical region for a candidate and you're here talking of electorate's opinion. The problem with educated folks like you is that you fail to understand how politics in Nigeria works. I have seen so many people who think they're smart analyze like Nigeria is practicing modern day politics. Educated and smart politicians like Asiwaju, Atiku, Kwankwaso understand the game. You guys should study Asiwaju for Christ sake. You've seen him campaign to captain of industries, professional bodies, international bodies, leagues of bankers, different trade associations, etc; his messages are always different; tailored for different audiences.
I've listened to him campaign to leaders of the gas and industry; he was at his best intelligence wise; he shared innovative ideas and plans he will implement if elected.
At campaign ground, that's where he slacks and do those bla blu shit. He understand whatever he says there is of little value because the masses in attendance will vote in line with their local structure.
Electorates' opinion in Nigeria is influenced by state structures even in sophisticated states like Lagos.
The candidate who disagreed and thought Nigeria is Canada got his feedback today.
A large bloc of APC votes in 2015, 2019 still exists, and the party is still working successfully to acquire more, despite Buhari's terrible performance. PDP votes still exist and are losing some of them to APC in the NW. PDP votes in 2015, 2019 has been shared by NNPP, PDP, and LP. |

This line of reasoning only works if we accept your flawed premise. We have to assume the electorate's opinions haven't shifted against the ruling party at all in favor of any other party. We can also factor in the fact that run-off elections are possible in this country. All they have to do in that scenario is when 13 states to force a run off between the 1st abd 2nd place party. |

You see the jobs and services. 3. People lose the jobs and less goods are supplied to the market. 4. Tax revenue, jobs, FDI and financial investments. |
