livingchrist:Clown. Did God write all the Laws with his finger? Where all the laws put into the Ark? Did all the laws pertain to all the Israelites? Were is it written that all the laws are called laws of Moses? Did prophet Daniel differentiate the 2 laws or not? Don't tell me you are a habitual liar. |
livingchrist:So which law did Jesus say will not pass away ? Is it the same law of Moses which you said has passed away? Is Jesus liaring? |
livingchrist:The 10 commandments were existing before Adam and Eve sinned against God or were even created. It is the very foundation of God's government. Sinned is not imputed were there is no law. Jesus said Satan has been sinning right from the beginning, we all know that Satan wanted the throne and glory of God, which means he broke the first 3 commandments. livingchrist:Where did you see sinners that will not die? You cannot be in Christ and still don't obey his commandments. It's not by wishful thinking. 1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. It is that simple. There is nothing like law of faith. |
livingchrist:That's a lie. Works are the evidence of one having faith in God. Even the Devil and Demons and armed robbers, prostitutes, killers, liars, drunkards all this people have faith and believe in God and Jesus. But the lack one thing, which is works, and works simply means obidence to God's God's commandments. |
livingchrist:Are you telling me you did not read the entire bible verse? Note. James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty |
livingchrist:See you twisting Bible verses. And how is a living faith differentiated from a dead faith? |
livingchrist:All through the Bible the evidence is there that they are all different laws. |
livingchrist:But you saw it in Daniel 9:10 that they are different laws. Even Daniel distinguished them It's also obvious to anyone who has a functional brain and is honest that the Laws were different, One was written by God himself and placed inside the Ark. The order was written by Moses and placed outside the Ark. It is also obvious that the laws have different functions. You are only deceiving yourself if you claim you do not know they are different. Even a primary 5 pupil knows what the 10commandments are and that they are different from other laws. In nigeria constitution are all the laws the same ? And do they act or function in the same way? |
MaxInDHouse:You are only deceiving yourself not me or God. The problem is that it will be too late for you when you realize it. Keep fooling yourself. |
livingchrist:If Adam and Eve had kept commandments me and you and the entire humanity would not have been in this shit we are. |
livingchrist:I wonder at your level of comprehension. How many times will I tell you that. A man sentenced to death for a crime , let's say for murder, even if from the day he was sentenced he starts keeping the entire law of that country or place , it cannot justify or free him from the death penalty that has been passed on him. As long as the law of that country demands death as the only ransome. Same thing with man, when Adam and Eve sinned against God the penalty of death came upon man and his descendants, no amount of keeping the law at that point could have saved man becos the law requires blood as a ransome for sin. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. What Jesus did was to die in our place inorder to satisfy the requirements of the law. 1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But just like the man pardoned from death penalty is not expected to go on breaking the same law he was pardoned from, so also God does not expect us to continue breaking his law which cost Christ his life to save us from its penalty. |
livingchrist:That's a lie, all the laws were not called the law of Moses. Daniel 9:10 is talking about God's law and verse 11 is talking about Moses' law: "Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets." "Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him." Daniel 9:10,11 You deceiving yourself by claiming they are all the same law even when it's obvious they are different. The 10commandments was given by God written by his own finger placed inside the Ark. Why that of Moses was written by Moses placed by the side of the Ark. The 10commandments points out and convicts one of Sin. There is not penalty or punishment mentioned in the 10commandments. Why that of Moses passes judgement which is death on the sinner. Moses law demanded that anyone caught breaking any of the 10 was to be stoned to death, that why it is called the law of sin and death. That's why it is called the law against us. Moses law contained blessings and curses. Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deuteronomy 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. Numbers 15:32 And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day. 15:33 And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation. 15:34 And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him. 15:35 And the LORD said unto Moses, The man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp. 15:36 And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Moses. How can God's law which is holy just and good be against us? How can the 10commandments that shows us how to please God be contrary and against us. Romans 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. The scarifical laws and that of priesthood pointed to Christ and his death as a scarifical lamb for the sins of humanity. Of course obeying the law would not have given us life because the is a verdict of death penalty on all humanity so keeping the law can not erase that. The law requires blood as ransom for sin. Which no man could becos all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. So Christ paid the price |
livingchrist:Moses law is different from the 10commandments. They are all referred to law but they all have different functions and time frame. https://www.preparingforeternity.com/mosevs10.htm It is obvious to anyone who is honest. |
livingchrist:Abeg Mr Living Christ. Apostle James is asking you. James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? Ans the question |
livingchrist:You see how am using God's word to dismantle your false doctrine? Here is God's clear word. James 2:24 Ye see then how that by WORKS a man is justified, and NOT by FAITH ONLY. Please note the capitalized words. Case closed. |
livingchrist:You just cherry pick verses to suit your fantasy and leave the truth. The full verse shows that all this people you mentioned had faith in Christ and also obey the commandments of God. Faith without works is dead. James even mentioned the 10commandments as evidence of faith with works. Verses 8,9,10 James 2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 2:11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. 2:13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment. 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. Rehab was justified by works and faith not faith alone Verse 25. |
livingchrist:No where in the Bible is it said that one is saved only by confessing Jesus without keeping the law. When the righteous turn away from righteousness and does evil God will condemn them to death(Hell) Is as simple as that. Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. 18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 18:22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. 18:25 Yet ye say, The way of the LORD is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? 18:26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. 18:27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 18:28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. 18:29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the LORD is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? 18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. 18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye. |
livingchrist:You lied. Abraham kept the 10 commandments of God. Genesis 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. All this people kept the commandments of God. If you believe that you are saved only by confessing Jesus without obeying God's commandments than you are deceiving yourself. |

MaxInDHouse:What a lame explanation. Here is the true explanation of that verse. Home→Feature→Jesus Did Not Abolish the Law By Fulfilling It. Post navigation← HopeSS: Christ and the Law of MosesAsk the Author: Christ and Religious Tradition → Jesus Did Not Abolish the Law By Fulfilling It. Posted on April 16, 2014 by William Earnhardtavatar “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:17-19 NKJV Jesus Tempted Image © Pacific Press from GoodSalt.com Jesus Temptes Image © Pacific Press from GoodSalt.com Occasionally, while giving Bible studies, I will hear someone say, “Once Jesus fulfilled the commandments He did away with them. He fulfilled them so we don’t have to.” Well, let’s take a look at that. Does fulfill mean to do away with? My Websters Dictionary tells me that fulfill means to “carry out.” I don’t think carrying something out and abolishing it can be the same definition. My Roget’s Thesaurus tells me fulfill is the same as “pleasing or sufficing.” I don’t think that to “please or suffice” means “to abolish.” Now that we have looked at Roget and Webster’s definition of the word fulfill, let’s see how the Scriptures use that word. How did Matthew himself use that word? Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him. Matthew 3:13-14 NKJV So Jesus fulfilled the rite of baptism. Did He abolish it after He fulfilled it? No, of course not. Matthew, the same writer who tells us Jesus fulfilled the rite of baptism also records Jesus’ command, Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit… Matthew 28:19 NKJV So Jesus did not abolish baptism when He fulfilled that rite, but rather set an example for us to follow. Likewise, Jesus did not abolish the law by fulfilling it, but rather gave us an example to follow. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:3-4 NKJV The good news according to Romans 8:3-4 is that when the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts, He not only fulfills the law for us but also fulfills it in us. It is not us doing the work, but the Holy Spirit who is working in us, fulfilling and writing the law of love on our hearts. The rite of baptism “fulfills all righteousness” as I die to self and rise again, born of the Holy Spirit who now fulfills the law of love in me. Amen! |

livingchrist:You are the one contradicting yourself. I said keeping the law alone cannot save one, becos we have all sinned and are guilty before God hence we are eligible for death penalty which is the wages of sin. But when Christ came and died for us, he settled that debt which we owe the law. Which makes us not guilty before the law of God. But now we are saved from the penalty of the law which is death through christ . We need to wholeheartedly obey the commandments of God as a show of our love for God and to earn eternal life. The summary is that both need to occur for us to be saved. 1. Christ had to die to pay our debt. 2 .we need to accept Christ sacrifice by faith and to obey the commandments inorder to gain eternal life. If you accept Christ without obeying God's commandments you are like someone with faith without works. Secondly if you keep all the commandments and Christ did not die for you, you will still not make Heaven becos the debt has still not been paid. If you don't understand this simple explanation than check yourself. |
livingchrist:I can stop laughing. What does the law of faith entails? Show me were in the Bible God wrote that you need just faith without obedience to his law or commandments for you to get into Heaven? |
livingchrist:Here is an explanation for that verse on the law of the spirit. What is “the law of the Spirit of life” spoken about by Paul in Romans 8:2? Romans 8:1-4 builds on what Paul discussed in the previous chapters, particularly the connection between the law, sin, and death. Romans 8:1-4 seems specifically to develop Romans 7:6, where the two ideas present in our passage are found: freedom from the law, sin, and death, and a new life in Christ (cf. Rom. 6:1-14). Organization of Romans 8:1-4 Paul begins the discussion with a summary statement (verse 1) that is developed in the following verses. The primary emphasis will be on the lives of believers. Paul combines liberation through the “law of the Spirit of life” with the death of Jesus (verse 2). He literally says: “The law of the Spirit of life [the source of a new life] in/through Christ Jesus liberated you [singular; i.e. “the believer”] from the law of sin and of death.” What Christ did changes the lives of believers. This was necessary, for there was something the law could not do, but that was accomplished through Christ (verse 3). Paul explains both of these concepts to clarify the meaning of “the law of the Spirit of life liberated me from the law of sin and death.” The Statement “There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus” (verse 1). The “now” indicates that the new has arrived, resolving the problem of the condemnation of the law associated by Paul with the trespass of Adam (Rom. 5:12, 17). Adam’s fall constituted humanity into an indistinguishable mass of sinners destined to death; but Christ came with liberating power. Those who are in Christ are free from the condemnation of death into new life. Paul explains how this happens. The Law of the Spirit In verse 2 Paul explains verse 1: “Because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life . . . [set me free] from the law of sin and death” (NIV). These two laws happen to be the same law viewed from two different perspectives: The law under the flesh leads to death, while the same law, under the power of the Spirit, leads to a new life. Christ delivers us from the cosmic powers of sin and death (justification), and the Spirit delivers us from the enslaving power of sin in our daily lives (sanctification). According to Paul, the law of God has been misused by sin, resulting in condemnation and death (Rom. 7:7-12). Humans misused it by seeking God’s acceptance through the works of the law, that is, “the law of sin and death.” The “law of the Spirit of life” is the same law connected to the Spirit, not to the flesh. There is a proper place for God’s law in the Christian life. Law, Christ, and the Spirit The problem, says Paul, was not the law itself but the weakness of the “flesh” (Rom. 8:3). Confronted with sin and death, the law was powerless because the flesh is hostile to God and cannot “submit to God’s law” (verse 7, NIV). The solution is the sacrificial death of the Son of God, who condemned sin in the flesh, liberating us from the condemnation of the law (verse 3), and enabling us to live in obedience to God’s will through the Spirit. Now the law is restored to its proper place and called “the law of the Spirit of life.” Christ died for us “in order that the righteous requirement of the law [the law of the Spirit of life] might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the [sinful nature] [seeking acceptance from God through the works of the law] but according to the Spirit” (verse 4, NIV). The weakness of the flesh is overcome, and the Spirit enables us to obey the righteous requirements of God’s law. https://www.adventistworld.org/the-law-of-the-spirit-of-life/ |
livingchrist:Like I said before the word law in the bible does not necessarily mean the 10commandments. You must understand the context in which the word law is used for you to know which law is been referred to. The law of the spirit is still the 10commandments written in our hearts and obeyed by us through the empowerment of the Holyspirit. |
Dtruthspeaker:No it is not spirit. |
livingchrist:Spiritual rebirth is not literal like one be reborn by God. We are the sons of God the same way Adam and Eve ,Angel's are. The bible emphasizes the fact that only those who keep the faith to the end will inherit eternal life. This is because accepting christ does not mean one has secured Heaven neither does it Entrust automatical capabilities above sin. To secure Heaven one has to fight according to Paul the good fight till the end. Rewards are given at the end, not at the beginning or middle. Note this verses. Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 5:11 Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. 1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: |
livingchrist:No one has everlasting life, the only way to have everlasting life is to accept Jesus and to obey the Commandments of God. You must do the 2 to be saved not one. Revelation 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. The law of Christ is not different from the 10commandments neither is it greater. They are one and the same. Christ never came to give a new law or different rules. Remember he came to do the will of his father and to establish his father's government on Earth. |
Goshen360:Really? Genesis 26:4 And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. Was it Nigerian law God was referring to here that Abraham obeyed? Becos the law on mount Sinai happened more than 400years after Abraham had died. Secondly, if Sin was not imputed , then why did God destroy Noah's generation and Sodom and Gomorrah? Since you claim they did not know the law. Sin is transgression of the law |
livingchrist:What Christ death fufilled or replaced was the sacrificial laws and system and not the 10 commandments becos they were imperfect. Hebrews 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. 9:18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. 9:19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, 9:20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. 9:21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry. 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. 9:23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 9:24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: 9:25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. |
livingchrist:Here is the difference between God's law and the Mosiac laws. 1. One is called the law of God and the other the law of Moses. Ten - Isaiah 5:24 KJV Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the Lord of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Moses - Luke 2:22 KJV And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; 2. One is written on a book & the other on stone. Ten-Exodus 31:18 KJV And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. Moses -2 Chronicles 35:12 KJV And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the Lord, as it is written in the book of Moses. And so did they with the oxen. 3. One placed inside the ark and the outside the ark of the covenant. Moses-Deuteronomy 31:26 KJV Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. Ten -Exodus 40:20 NIV He took the tablets of the covenant law and placed them in the ark, attached the poles to the ark and put the atonement cover over it. 4. Ended on the cross and the other will last forever. Moses -Romans 10:4 GNT For Christ has brought the Law to an end, so that everyone who believes is put right with God. Ten - Luke 16:17 GNT But it is easier for heaven and earth to disappear than for the smallest detail of the Law to be done away with. Psalm 119:151-152 GNT But you are near to me, Lord, and all your commands are permanent. Long ago I learned about your instructions; you made them to last forever. Secondly the Law of Christ which is love is the 10 commandments. Christ himself equated one loving God and his neighbour to the 10 commandments. Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 22:38 This is the first and great commandment. 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. |
