It is very interesting to watch it happen in real time and see all the reasons, explanations, and excuses being given for his actions.

When I first read about Hitler, the Nazis, World War 2 I usually found it hard to understand how the Nazis were allowed to to come to power in the first place, and how the world powers watched him as he step by step militarised the Rhineland, carried out the Anschluss, “liberated” the Sudetenland Germans, and finally invaded Poland.

It didn’t make sense. Now it does.

As in....I also did wonder how Hitler became what he was while his people and the whole world watched on. But as I grow older and saw the excuse people make for actions and inactions of leaders that are actually unreasonable, I begin to understand it is the people that enabled him to become what he became.

The fact it is an American president that is openly moving like Hitler without any remorse/feel of moral guilt just makes the whole thing hard to believe

As far back as 2014 during NYSC orientation camp there was this guy in my room that would talk about how Boko Haram go to villages in his LGA in Borno state attacking christian dominated areas every night.

He narrated how they would offer villagers a chance to switch religion or have their village burned down. They would slaughter all adult males and abduct adult female villagers to marry them as wives after forcefully converting them. The kids will be left as orphans.

It all sounded like a made-up tale until orphaned Christian students from Borno, Adamawa and Yobe were transferred to our school in the north west on federal government scholarship.

The issue predates the current government sef. So I wonder why anybody would want to deny these things are not happening.

It is really very simple. NYT says Riley and Co referenced Emeka the NGO (na you dey call am screwdriver). It is for them to come out and deny. I do not have the energy or time to start sifting through these politicians speeches, but I suspect nyt has the all the information on hand and will make more available if Riley and Co issue loud denials.

NYT claim makes no sense and reads more like a hatchet job by a media outfit that is out to use Nigerian situation to continue their war against republican party in America.

The fact that the article was specifically mentioning Republican lawmakers in its subheading makes it pretty obvious ( Spotty research from a Christian activist has been used by Republican lawmakers to justify U.S. intervention in the country ).

Your are the one making the North West vs North East argument on behalf of NYT which was not the meat of the matter in NYT's publication.

By the way the Sokoto airstrike was reported as the first and may not be the last if the Nigerian authorities do not take pro-active steps to address the issues that required the US intervention.

To the best of my knowledge the whole Christian genocide issue got the attention of the US government when Rev Dachomo made videos which was posted on Twitter which generated widespread attention. To back this up I have attached screenshot of Riley Moore actually warning Nigerian authorities they would be held accountable should anything happen to Rev Dachomo who raised the alarm.

Also the US delegation came to Nigeria, visited IDPs in the middle belt and spoke with victims of the numerous attacks against the Christian minority in the north. Attached is The Punch newspaper report that Riley Moore Left heartbroken following his visit to Nigeria to investigate the Christian genocide claims.

There are several reports of genocides reported in the mainstream media in Nigeria. Almost every Christmas/Easter a truck would run over Christians procession in Bauchi or Gombe.

We are all in this Nigeria together, does anyone need to rely on whatever the man is reporting before they confirm there's actually Christian persecution up North?

Don't we see reports about these incidents by local media from time to time? This is not even that started in 2025 sef.

These first few lines of the article already rubbished whatever agenda the writer was trying to achieve.

There has been no decade in this country in which there's not been religious fuelled violence against the Christian minority in the Northern part of this country. The talks about "decades of peaceful coexistence beween the Muslim majority and indigenous Christian communities in the North" is nothing but farce.

Since I was in primary school I've been reading about religious crisis in Kaduna, Jos and other parts of the north that have Indigenous Christian communities in the North. The advent of Boko Haram, ISWAP and Fulani Militia only made the matters worse in the 2010's. None of these has anything to do with any Igbo Separatist group

This is to let you know the kind of journalism that politics of bitterness has engendered in the US. The same we complain about the dearth of good journalists in Nigeria is the same way the US public is complaining. There are people who will automatically believe the opposite of whatever is being reported on the news.

Like...It's terrible, it just seem as if their journalism is agenda driven all rounder.

I normally do not follow American politics because I don't really have much interest in what happens over there when Nigeria own still dey there, but recently I've been noticing that things over there is almost heading the same way as we have it here. Even by the comments of their citizens on social media one can sense some shift. It's just like logic is being turned on its head and people will just choose to believe whatever appeals to their bias.

I've seen people in Trump's government arguing with data that was generated by the same government. I've also seen people on the other side too support lawlessness just to discredit Trump's government. The sanctity of their laws and incorruptible law enforcement/judicial system sef is being affected by the whole thing happening. People are just picking sides and the media is leading the way

Few months ago I saw one bros make a video about him on TikTok. In that Video the bros was calling out his management for not doeing enough to manage his affairs well. He lamented how he was paid for a show to perform but by the time he came on stage he was apparently under the influence of hard drugs.

The bros said he was shocked that he couldn't even sing his own song that was composed by him well because of the level of jonzing. He said he was making that video because later when they start asking for public donation to treat him for any health-related issue, he will not contribute a dime.

When I saw the news of his death, my mind just went straight to that bros' video. I'm sure very soon bloggers will start sharing that bros video as a doom prophecy that came to pass.

A Screwdriver seller that no Nigerian knew, is the one that manipulated a whole USA?

Let me tell you what I think happened in this case:

I think American local politics is being taken too far and same being projected on the issues in Nigeria.

The tone of that New York Times news piece sounds like their intention was to discredit Trump's action as regards the airstrikes in Sokoto last December. You know Trump has his own issues with some media organizations inside America and New York Times is one of them.

In order for NYT to be able to discredit the American airstrike, they need to discredit people like Riley who has been in the forefront of the Christian Genocide issue. So to do that, they need to attack the source of data that has been quoted by Riley in his numerous posts on social media and his reports in congress. I guess that was what led them to digging into the ownership/control of one of the Civil Organizations that has reported the Christian gencoide going on in the north and found goldmine .

Seeing the civil organization was registered by that man they called "screwdriver salesman in Onitsha", they just decided to pivot their propaganda in that direction and claim Trump relied on wrong intelligence to carry out the airstrike.

A section of the Nigerian media and some dishonest people denying the true situation of things have further amplified it by going with the IPOB/Igbo Agenda by splashing pictures of the man on the internet thereby exposing him to imminent danger.

In all these both NYT and a part of the Nigerian media chose not to speak about the fact that Rev Dachomo was making heartwrenching videos while burying his congregations who are victims of the said genocide. They chose to ignore the fact that Rev Father Anegbe of Makurdi Catholic Diocese actually travelled to America to appear before a house sitting on the Christian genocide in Nigeria. They forget that even FG sent delegation to the same America o. In fact, there was one Middle Belt guy on Twitter resident in America (I don't the exact town he's from) resident in America who claimed he actually wrote to his Rep in the US congress about the plight of his people and it was that petition that led to them Riley getting involved.

The way I see it, the government is more interested in playing politics with their $9m war chest for Lobbying/propaganda rather than addressing the issues surrounding religious intolerance/persecution happening up north.

The reason we didn't win this match and Loserpool match is our inability to be clinical in front of goal. It's matches like this that made fans call for signing of an Out and out striker to help us out in games like this one when the opponents make it difficult for us to penetrate their defence.

Unfortunately, the striker we signed has not been able to help us out of these situations. We had chances to win yesterday's match, we just didn't take our chances. Gyokeres was gifted a run at goal from Forrest defender's mistake but his pace wasn't enough ; he was caught up with and couldn't convert the chance. Martinelli also had a chance to play the ball into the net but played across face of goal.

We can all blame Arteta all day for the team failing to take maximum advantage of City's slip yesterday but we should also be sincere enough to admit some of our players didn't rise up to the occasion.


I believe Rice saying whatever he was caught on camera saying is due to him seeing his fellow players not rising to the ocassion when they need to. If I was Rice I would also be frustrated seeing Gyokeres not doing enough to score that chance, I will be pissed as well seeing Martinelli playing the ball across face of goal when we should be Celebrating a lead.

What I don't understand is if a section of the fans will keep lamenting about this result till the next match day cos to me that's not a good way of enjoying a club one claims to support at all.

Madueke would’ve been worse against Liverpool. Saka is definitely better than him and it was clear when he came on. At this stage of the season, it is crucial to rack up important points. If your competition drop points in an earlier game, it’s more crucial to go full throttle and win the 3 points.

There was a season SAF planned to rest some players for a midweek UCL game. But once the competition (City at the time, I think) dropped points in an earlier kick off, he completely changed his whole game plan and grounded out a win.

That’s how you secure the league.

The point is both players started Loserpool match and the outcome was same as this one they started off the bench. They couldve started this match and if would ended same way.

We drew because we didn't take our chances when they fell to us and Forrest keeper was on his best days. Simple.
