Oh boy, you gast drop that Naija pride when it comes to these matters

Na so another of my guy already had 1 boy and 1 girl, he said a Naija man must have 2 boys to carry his name in case of incasity so he is trying for one more. Knowing he has high incidence of twins in his family (his sisters are twins), na so he go fire again, born twin girls. Bills want kill am as we speak grin
I dey always like this kind thing grin. I like how nature dey always 4ck with people like him who would note be grateful for having kids irrespective of gender and instead they will be looking for wetin no lost all in the name of trying to give birth to a specific gender.

When some people are looking for just one child after years of marriage to no avail, some yeye people will be saying they must born boy like say girl child is lesser of a child than a boy child

When they knack you £3k per month for nursery fees for 2 children in UK, your church mind will tell you to hang boot. On top that your wife will lose a years earnings each time. We haven't calculated uni fees, bigger house etc. it is fair to say each child puts a responsibility of £100k to £250k on their parents head (if their parents are middle class working parents and not relying on Govt to take care of their children). It is those without work and on benefits that you see borning 4+ children here. Two is the norm. I and 3 of my siblings all have 2 each with no exceptions. My brother in-law an Ogoni man born 2 girls with my sister, when I asked him if he won't go for boy, that's when he became a feminist saying each of his girls is worth 2 boys each grin grin
My brother-in-law in Limerick is facing the bolded. The wife had to stop working immediately her pregnancy got to advance stage and she's been home taking care of the baby after delivery till now(3 months After). Unlike Naija where u can drop ur child with either ur mother , mother-in-law, daycare or younger sister and go to work, they said over there u are on your own.

Like u said she's most likely going to lose at least one year earning while her hubby will be the only one providing for the family from his earnings throughout duration of when the child will grow a little.

As much as the outcome of this match may seem undesirable ; we are unpertubed. In Amorim we trust 💯.

The gaffer has already hinted us we would suffer when we believe this is one of the sufferings that will make us stronger for the glory that is to come either in the championship or next year's EFL cup.

GGMU! We move! May Amorim sail this ship to the promised land.

Enlightenment will make you know say no be to born plenty, Many of this generation just have 2 kids, and they are done, In our parents generation na 4 max per family but economy don make people adjust

These days people dont just give birth to populate the earth they want to give their kids the best life too, women also want to enjoy have a careeer and not going from maternity ward back to back

Also women are getting married later in life s the fertility window is smaller. Birth controls are now available unlike 40yrs ago when teenage pregnancies full everywhere
Now people have kids when they want to

All these factrs lead to developed countries having low birth rates and developing countries with more poverty have high birth rate

If you look at Nigeria self, the rich people have 2-3kids max na poor people dey born plenty believing in the lottery say at least 1 go make am
The bold is actually the mentality of some African parents in the past. They hope one of the kids (most especially the first born) makes it and trains the rest of the kids in school lifting burden of responsibility off the parents.

By so doing, they make their kids retirement plan.

Homosexuals are a minority in the general population, Japanese and a lot of these Asian countries are not notorious for homosexuality, yet they're grappling with low birth rates.
Na Africans dey born anyhow na due to some of our cultures ; the rest of the world don't give birth as much as Africans do.
There are even people in the west and Asia who decide they don't want to have kids. In Africa, having kids is like one of the things we prioritize

Baba me and u know say fisherman soup is not cheap na. But he was talking about cheap ₦15k pot of soup in his original post.

He dey gas those he was having the argument with that he didn't know he's exaggerated the whole thing.

Theflint1:
They came for him because he said what looked like one of those unfounded claims.

Take what he said at face value and you'd see it's very possible.
At face value, an average middle class person who is single and living by himself would not finish cheap 15k pot of soup within 24 hours.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 6:21pm On Aug 27, 2025
Theflint1:
Those that came for that Elder's post did so because they believed a soup that costs 15K can't or shouldn't be eaten in a day, and as you can see it's very possible and it won't even be because you're doing too much.

If you use 9K to buy a kilo of turkey which could end up coming to like two and half wings cut in half (giving you five pieces), you can do that 15K easily...5 pieces of turkey is not too much to eat across a day.

If he does half a kilo of turkey (#4,500), and auguments with #3,000 beef and 1,500 smoked fish, he still won't be doing too much, eaten across a day.
No please! Most people who came for him did so knowing his antecedents for making untrue claims like posting picture of pot of soup he lifted online and labeled it as being prepared by him.

All those shalaye u are doing up there na because u want to Try as much as possible to believe him Sha.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:27pm On Aug 27, 2025
Theflint1:
Good.

Do you think 2 pieces of turkey is gluttonious eating for an adult male?
U mean two uncut turkey wings per meal? And you think that's what he's referring to when he said "cheap 15k pot of soup"?

See this Ur attempt at renovation is not renovating at all.

Somebody claimed he eats at home often because it is cheap to do so and further claim the cheap pot of soup is 15k. I hope u know even at eateries the two pieces of big turkey is even cheaper than 15k Sha?

If a pot of soup is 15k and the soup is meant to be cheap ; trust me a single man that is not a glutton won't finish it within 24 hours.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:21pm On Aug 27, 2025
Theflint1:
How much is a kilo of turkey?

It's possible the reason he considers it cheap is because that's his normal and not because it's cheap compared to how the rest of the country eats.
Turkey finger is like 6,500 while turkey laps/wings is between the range of 9k and 9.5k
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:14pm On Aug 27, 2025
Theflint1:
Oya how much be kilo of turkey for your side, and if you wan cut am big, how many pieces e go reach? grin

I know then when I still dey the world, I go cook stew for morning, chow am for morning, afternoon and evening...that stew no go see pass morning the next day, and on some days when I'm in the mood I'd just down what's left of the protein that same day.

This was the era where a kilo of chicken was like 800- 1200.
Go and read elders initial post again when he made mention of the 15k soup. You will see he was referring to the 15k soup as cheap which means he's not even talking about any sophisticated soup with premium protein.

See ehn, a lap of goat meat costs between 10k to 12k and with 3k u will have enough pepper and other ingredients to make stew. There's no how u will finish everything within a day except u want to be drinking the soup and eat a chunk of the meat every one hour. The last time I drove my wife to abattoir here in Lagos, they sold a kg of cow meat for 7k.

All those far-fetched analysis u dey do on behalf of elder is just to give him a soft landing for his bragaddico gone wrong.

Except he's a glutton and spendthrift Sha o, maybe on that premise we can agree that indeed "cheap 15k home made soup" will not last more than a day in his house

The first goal of Universities is higher education, They can choose to have universities for one sex, one religion as long as they are getting the education

In the US we have Universities that are for one sex only like Smith College, Wellesley college (which Hillary Clinton and Madeleine Albright attended), Spellman College and Morehouse College

Where things might get twisted is when trans people who identify as a sex different from their biological sex demand admission into these schools
Personally I don't like the idea of same-sex higher institution; I believe it will have an effect on some of the graduates of such universities in getting along with people in the real world.

How feasible is the idea of an all-female university in the 21st Century?

I thought the University system is where adults are expected to meet fellow adults from different backgrounds, network and build life-long relationships.

In my personal opinion, a same-sex University defeats all of these purpose/goals/ideas.

Price of rice is steadily crashing. I was at the rice mill yesterday, and prices ranged from 17k to 22k for a bushel (25kg) depending on the species, grain type, and whether its old or new rice. The one I got cost 18k for the bushel. For context, this time last year, I got a bushel for about 38k.

Judging from the price at the mill, 50kg bag of rice at supermarket stores no suppose pass 50k.

Buhari border closure and banning of rice importation drove up the price of rice. and now that PBAT has reversed it, the price don dey come down. and long may it continue.
I will check at Booku to confirm the price before weekend.

Nigerian airline has a long way to go. Air peace that is rated highly can reschedule one flight 3 times a day. If you book with them, you just have to keep your phone at hand for latest update.

Once moved my 9AM flight to 2pm then to 9pm. I was extorted by those thieves that pretend to be bolt drivers at the airport because it was minutes past 10pm. Those ones you book from the app and they come and meet you only to start renegotiating price. Made me pay 8k from airport to 500 meters after LASUTH.
Air peace worst. The day they rescheduled my flight from around 12 noon to 6pm was the day I vowed never to fly them again provided there's an alternative aircraft flying same route.

Their mess up too much and they don't even know frustrating the thing can be especially the way it disrupts ur plan for the whole day.

ValueJet on the other hand are very time conscious; they always keep to their departure and arrival time . Something tells me the pilot that nearly chopped off Kwam1's head was only in a hurry to meet up the ValueJet reputation for keeping to time.

I’m happy that Air Peace are one of the big beneficiaries of Tinubu’s Brazil trip.

Fresh off announcing their Abuja - London Heathrow and Gatwick flights, they’ll also launch Lagos - Sao Paulo flights!

Moreover, they’ve also become the first Nigerian private airline to simultaneously own the most wide body jets (four B777)
Congrats to them(Airpeace), let them Sha work on how they cancel and reschedule their local flights anyhow.

Last week that I traveled, at the airport I still met people who were lamenting about how they've regretted flying with them on several occasions because of how often they reschedule flights and disrupt your travel plans at will. The whole thing gives them a negative image locally amongst frequent travelers.
