TemporaryHansel:I never said all graduates should migrate to Lagos. All I'm saying is if u have 4.91/5.00 and u choose to stay put in a state where there are no job opportunities because u don't want to stress urself, then that's on u! |
raumdeuter:The bold is one thing I dislike most and always try to diabuse the mind of young people so as not to defeat themselves even before the challenge starts. The problem some young graduates face is that they don't have anybody to mentor/guide them ; especially the ones who don't have an elder bro or sis who has taken the career path before them. I was discussing this with a friend recently; he was lamenting how not having any of his older bro following the career path made it extremely difficult for him. |
GloriousGbola:Nowadays most Companies post their job openings on their LinkedIn pages, the HR staff of companies share openings on their personal linkedin pages and vacancies/career blogs post those openings on their websites. In the last 3 months I've seen several banks, Dangote, BUA, big 4's, capital market players, etc posting their graduate trainee openings online. A diligent graduate should be looking out for all these openings...... If not, they will keep saying there are no jobs anywhere. |
TemporaryHansel:Well.... there u have it. They want a job that would come and meet them at their comfort zone for this jungle called Nigeria? Nothing good comes easy bro. Na when I dey NYSC in the north I write my first job test. Imagine traveling on Bike for over 45 minutes to another town to go look for cyber Cafe because I Wan write aptitude test. It was not easy but na me know wetin dey chase me. |
liveLongNprospa:I never said it's straight. That mathematics guy, I doubt he had a smart phone while he was observing his NYSC. I saw a picture of the guy when he was interviewed on the farm and u can tell that guy has a whole lot to deal with that would make him have visibility issues. This tailor guy is actually a tech savvy guy that is active on Twitter 24/7; he even uses Twitter to promote his business and that should tell u he's smart and he can't play the lack of opportunity card bro. This year alone I've seen not less than 10 graduate trainee adverts from top companies. I believe he should have seen same except he doesn't know where to look. |
TemporaryHansel:I can reason with the school of thought that he resides outside Lagos. But nothing good comes easy. I have met people who had to travel down to Lagos from their home state to interview for jobs In Lagos without knowing anybody and they got the job. They took the risk and got the reward. If u carry the kind of grade, u no supposes dey limit urself and hope like every other person that things will fall in place. U must be willing to go the extra mile to stand out. |
CrystalTiger:I don't think this is about Nigeria killing it's young ones at all. Despite how Labour market cast reach, I believe if u hold a first class with CGPA 4.91/5.00 and u are jobless few years after graduation, then u are the problem or maybe u don't really fancy paid employment Sha. Where was he when big companies and multinationals like Dangote, the big 4s, Banks, oil and gas companies, etc were conducting their graduate trainees? Nobody go come use job beg him for house because he get first class na ; he must apply first begore employment comes One thing I've noticed is that a lot of young graduates just waste time on social media gossip blogs, TikToks, etc when they should have all ears and eyes open for job opportunities on LinkedIn and other job focused platforms. As a first class graduate sef, right from school u supposed dey active looking for job opportunities make u no go shame Ur class of degree with joblessness after few years of graduation. |
Theflint1:The excerpt below from the article vividly described how Buhari frauded his way in 2015 into becoming the worst president to have ruled this country till date. He made other adjustments too. He traded his austere simplicities for tailored suits, courting the urban professionals who had previously dismissed him. Young, sophisticated operatives helped repackage his inflexibility as principled leadership, his economic ignorance as incorruptibility. But these were merely cosmetic touches on a fundamentally political transformation. What sealed his victory was not his rebranding but his willingness, at last, to play the very game he had long professed to abhor. The author of the article really set leg for those trying to whitewash Buhari's image with this blunt but fair assessment of his misrule. The arithmetic of misery that defined Buhari's tenure tells its own story. Here was a man who, having failed catastrophically with command economics in the 1980s, returned to power and promptly repeated every mistake with the zeal of someone who had learnt absolutely nothing. His rigidity wasn't merely an intellectual limitation but an active choice to inflict needless suffering on millions whilst maintaining the serene confidence of a man convinced of his own rectitude. The fact that people actually defended Buhari while he was implementing these ill-advised policies and governance by nostalgia will always "muze" me sha. Like people actually defended Buhari's closure of boarder. Perhaps nothing captured Buhari's indifference to human development more starkly than his appointment of Adamu Adamu as education minister. Adamu, who had desperately wanted to be his chief of staff but lost out in a power struggle, accepted the education portfolio with all the enthusiasm of a vegetarian asked to judge a barbecue competition. For eight years - the entirety of Buhari's tenure - this disinterested placeholder presided over Nigeria's schools. No reforms emerged, no vision was articulated, no urgency animated the ministry tasked with preparing 10-13 million out-of-school children for the future. A school feeding programme, hastily conceived and bedevilled by corruption, stood as the sole monument to eight years of educational neglect. That Buhari left Adamu in post for his entire presidency revealed his fundamental contempt for education, the one ladder by which ordinary Nigerians might escape the poverty his policies had deepened[/quote] |
diggz:Normal level.🤦♂️ I recently watched a documentary on Prime Video which was based on the militants' agitation in the Niger Delta during the Yar Adua/Jonathan administration which led to the amnesty program. In the video the oyinbo who went into the creeks to film the plight of the Niger Deltans featured Ateke Tom's camp primarily and showed how the people suffered while the oil drilled beneath their soil fetches the nation sweet dollars. Ateke Tom was looking like the real deal freedom fighter who is hell-bent on making sure his people get the better life they deserve till his last breath. He looked like he will give his life so FG could make Niger Delta a paradise on earth before they can continue exploration unhindered in the Niger Delta. I carry my phone enter Google, showed my wife the golden palace Ateke Tom now lives in after FG "fortune" smiled on him while most average Niger Deltans continue to deal with environmental degradation and poisoning of rivers and farmlands due to hydrocarbons. She was shocked and wondered if it was the same guy we watched in the documentary that is now living large and has abandoned the "fight for his people". Most activists/freedom fighters for Naija na just hustlers wey dey chase their own slice of the national cake. |
GloriousGbola:Hundreds of people have reached out to the Scott guy with receipts of full payment made to PWAN real estate...... Some have paid for over 2 years without any land being allocated to them till date. They've even compiled petitions to EFCC which the Scott guy has been helping them to forward to EFCC. Their victims always comment on the guy's post on social media That is why the guy calls them " The real estate Company that sells receipts, instead of land to people ". To answer Ur question ; I think it is the company that needs to prove they have allocated lands to all the people they collected money from. But u know how naija be now ; the company will rather spend money on having the guy locked up instead of brining evidence that suggests the guy is wrong. |
livelongprospa:Yeah, I think those people just mess up arresting him. The guy will drag them with full power when tbey eventually released him. |
PWAN real estate had arrested Scott for dragging them on Social media because they scam their customers by not allocating lands to them after collecting payment.

Farooq Kperogi claims Aisha and Buhari were divorced before Buhari's demise
|
diggz:This is the question I always ask too o. I mean what is that thing that is so precious that he forgot that will make him decamp at the age of 79 with the hope that he will contest when he's 81 years old. What change can he possibly effect as a 81 year old President of this complex country? Nigerians no dey learn sha. When he gets there now and starts spending most of his time tending to old age related health issues, na fellow Nigerians go sit down begin make excuse for him |
iamoyindamola:It's actually social media he can reach out to them sef. There's one guy I do watch his video who jumps from that Lekki-Ikoyi link Bridge ( If u are going from Akin Adesola to MTN office at Awolowo way). I'm sure someone like that guy who is a practicing stunt man will see it on social media and will reach out to the director privately |
iamoyindamola:People engage in car racing that is extremely dangerous. People engage in boxing that can lead to serious brain damage. Why do u think the promoters of those sports get away when life threatening injuries happen? It's because the participants are willful participants who consented to taking part Irrespective of the potential dangers involved |
raumdeuter:He will be stewpiid if he engages anyone to do such risky venture without making them sign legal documents that will relieve him of liability if things goes south. Whoever will do it will be an athlete (stunt man) who knows the dangers in the business. He will surely provide safety measures and then make them sign documents that will relieve him of liability should something really bad happens |
chrisooblog:You get time to dey answer am sef. Something wey I Don watch video of stunt man doing before. Make he dey there dey do "La cram, La Pour" of physics textbook while stunt man wey dey interested dey cash out. |
This seems like a good offer for Ijaw, Badagry and Ilaje people (That is if it the offer is real and not that the guy is catching cruise o)
|
iamoyindamola:Most companies in the Niger Delta which is another rough terrain always have a Community Relations Manager whose job is to always oil the relationship between the company and the host communities. So, it is possible this Mushin community most likely adopts same model for them to have been able to operate successfully in that area for years now |
iamoyindamola:People wey get money and no get sense sef dey Nigeria o. |
iamoyindamola:Such companies will be paying protection money to whoever is the leader of the gang/cartel controlling the area where their company is located. So anytime they are having their fights they will never touch the assets of the company. The company would also provide armed escort for the expatrates so anytime go in and out of the premises/area they are always protected and won't be available for harassment. Na the Nigerian staff must use their head and also pray to avoid falling on the wrong side of town when those boys start their wahala |
diggz:I saw people on twitter discussing that 55 people have already subscribed to the lady's page. 300k to have access to nooods. Na wa o. Na dem go later buy the cybertruck for the lady. |
iamoyindamola:You were lucky o; there are places in this Lagos u don't want to be lost and Mushin is certainly one of them. Just look at those guys in the video with their bloodshot eyes. If day dark small they won't hesitate to dispossess one of his or her belongings. If u try to struggle with them, it won't even cost them a thing to stab u with a dagger. There's a particular street in Mushin; Akala street that is a notorious for druggs haven. If police dey pursue a suspect, once he runs into that street police will just turn back. It's so bad like that out there. |
Ellexy:I actually share most of those agbado guys' sentiments. Bayo Onanuga is not the model presidential spokesperson, he's best fit for a party's spokesperson. He can attack, fight member of opposition party dirty online and on the media, but he's not a top quality material for a presidential spokesperson. There's some level of decorum that's expected of a presidential spokesperson, there's some level of cool headed expected to address issues and put forward the reaction of the president to critical issues ; he lacks all of that and more. He just wants to sound like a "banger boy" (or man) and that doesn't make a good presidential spokesperson. He doesn't write like one who has any idea of what public relations is at all. He's always confrontational in his approach to issues ; sometimes I think he forgets he speaks for the president of a country that has over 200 million people who may or may nkt always agree with the president. He just writes like it's "them vs us" which is how a spokesperson of a political party thinks. |
Muhammadu Buhari could have long been dead if he had used Nigerian hospitals. - Former Presidential Aide, Femi Adesina Shame! 🤮🤮🤮🤮 |
TemporaryHansel:Whether learned or not, if Nigeria police hold u without any top level political connection ; u go see shege o. Dem go hold u down for as long as possible. Just pray and hope u don't find urself being victim of circumstances like that beyond Ur control. |
KingTom: iamoyindamola:It makes no sense at all. I learnt the Awujale through one of his subjects sponsored a bill that has now been signed into law which allows for Ogun state monarchs to be buried according to the religion they identified with and not the African Traditional Religion as expected. https://dailytrust.com/burial-rites-ogun-monarchs-floor-traditionalists-as-abiodun-signs-bill/ The only way forward is for the kingmakers to always insist only a traditional religion worshipper gets to be enthroned as king. That is the only time they will have power to do things as they ought to be
|
TemporaryHansel:Please leave zombies like that out of this thread abeg. Try not to quote them here as much as u can. |
TemporaryHansel:1. When incidents like this happen, it is the police that will investigate and decide whether or not theu suspect a crime has been committed. 2. If the police conclude from their investigation that there is a suspected case of foul play, they will proceed to prosecute whomever they suspected to be involved in the unfortunate incident. 3. From the incident you narrated up there, it will only take a lot of pressure from the deceased's family to make the police drop the case against Ur guy. If the deceased family tell the police expressed they don't want any autopsy carried out on their son and they just want to bury him, then the police will let go (of course after milking Ur guy for substantial bail money). 4. I must say if the deceased family is a very poor one, they will demand settlement money from Ur guy before they tell the police to drop the case against Ur guy. 5. Once this sort of unfortunate incident happens in naija, if one is not lucky he can go to prison despite being innocent. I once read about how a medical doctor was attacked by two guys trying to rob him. He was able to fight one of them off and drove off while the robber was hanging to his car. The robber fell off and died on the spot. The guy reported it even with eyewitnesses, the police prosecuted him for manslaughter. |
So traditionalists were chased away when they came to perform burial rites for the Awujale of Ìjẹ̀bú land.
Going forward in Yoruba land, I think Traditionalist should put their foot down and insist only people who practise African Traditional Religion should be allowed to rule as kings. Anybody that doesn't Want to have anything to do with traditional rites while alive and after his demise should not be made king by the kingmakers. The whole idea of Christian and Muslim Obas don't make much sense at all. |
diggz:They want to canonize Buhari right before our eyes in the age of social media where there's evidence of his misrule everywhere on the internet. The same way they kept telling us Nigeria was getting better under him when the contrary was what was happening. |
