imo Arteta bought time with Arsnal by winning the FA Cup in his first season. It paved the way for him within the club that he could possibly lead a long-term project.

I was not pro-Arteta as an Arsenal fan when Arteta was signed as Arsenal manager . I felt he was too inexperienced and a catering Arsenal team that needs urgent revival should not be his first job following his apprenticeship with Pep. I was against his signing back then .

However , when Arteta managed to deliver the 2020 FA cup , I switched to his side . I know he had it in him , but we just need to get rid of weak asss players that populate our team . That FA cup bought him the time he needed to rebuild the team .

I supported him all through that 3 consecutive years Arsenal came 2nd in a row and as the years pass by I just had that feeling that he was going to be the manager to return Arsenal back to the glory days which he eventually delivered last season .

Truth be told tho , Arteta would never have survived if he had joined Chelsea instead of Arenal . Una go don pursue am tey tey especially all those times when David Luiz and dem Xhaka head go touch and Pep will paste us embarrassing score line

Oh I see. Don’t get me wrong, we do get these phishing communications but they are mostly through emails versus text messages. Phone calls and texts are usually marketing companies.. Wahala no dey finish be that.

One thing is I am very well informed about phishing, and I always avoid filling out my biodata and phone number on any platform unless I'm convinced it is secured to an extent. In fact, I always warn people to be vigilant and avoid phishing attacks.

My theory on how they get our info is this : There has been data leak from most likely a major bank Myself and several other customers patronize. I know recently banks have been lowkey approaching courts to obtain order to freeze accounts linked to funds they lost to hackers. (At least I know of that of Access which made the news last month).

Something tells me that while these banks are trying to play things on the law, the hackers didn't just move funds alone from the banks. The hackers may have had access to database of their customers but the bank didn't make it public since they know the implication.

I'm thinking these hackers will most likely sell those data to local petty scammers on the black market. That is one of the avenues I believe these scammers get people's emails and phone numbers from before they start bombing their victims.

The issue is; It's not peculiar to me alone. I've seen different people online saying they got the same texts.

Like Iamoyindamola mentioned, almost all our numbers are compromised; that's why I strongly believe the Nigerian agency responsible for enforcing data protection laws has failed in its mandate.

It didn't start today tho. I remember there was a time it was reported that people's NIN were being sold online, If they can sell people's NIN what do we know that is being done to phone numbers?

Na this same country a network provider re-allocated a customer's number (which happens to be a kidnapper's) to some else after months of the line being dormant. The new owner of the line oblivious of the criminal history that surrounds the line he bought was traced by law enforcement agents, he was arrested and stayed months in prison for a crime he didn't commit.

These scammers are really not relenting, first it was FRSC two days ago and now it's UBA this morning.

Good thing is : I never really operated a UBA account. I did partially opened a UBA account about 8 years ago but didn't complete the account opening process. I neither provided complete KYC documents nor deposit into account till date. It was easy detecting it's a scam message because of the same domain name the FRSC scammers used.

At this point, I feel Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) has failed in its mandate to enforce Data privacy laws and ensure data protection in this country. Talmabout how scammers would just create clone websites and be bombing thousands of citizens on their private mobile numbers.

This situation reminded me of a case When I was still in Nigeria a work colleague was pregnant, she had planned to go abroad to deliver when its close, But I think around 6months the baby came premature, she went to a private hospital but they couldnt handle it, they referred her to LUTH.

Everything you described above was what happened to her. No bed, understaffed, no medication, the place dirty.

Despite how critical her case was, there were people who were with cases more critical, They started having to call influential people she knows to influence her getting a bed. After she got a bed now the issues came. Some times they will simply tell her that they need her to get this medicine and they will tell her around 11pm or 12midnight. How many pharmacies were open all night in Nigeria of mid 2000s?
So her husband and friends will start calling everywhere, driving everywhere all over Lagos to get medication. Even in the ward the whole place was dirty

One night, the baby had a crisis, she called on the nurse to get a doctor, After waiting for long and not seeing anyone while the baby was gasping for life, she went to find the nurse and asked for the doctor. Guess what? The nurse told her "she didn't have phone credit to call the doctor". She said she wanted to hurt that nurse, that why didn't you come to tell me that credit was the problem and we could have used my phone? Well the baby died

People initially told her to sue LUTH management etc, She just decided to move on with her loss

I heard her next pregnancy as soon as she confirmed and beyond first trimester, she took Leave of absence at work and reported to America where she paid a lot but at least she got her baby living

This is the reality.

Even if person get card for the best hospitals in America, the fact that you currently live in Nigeria means you can always have health emergency. And when you have that health emergency, the final resort will always be a teaching hospital where you will most likely feel brunt of Nigeria's failed Healthcare system.

One thing u also noticed is that empathy is lost on most of the staff of our teaching hospitals. They act like no matter how serious your loved ones' case may be, they have seen worse. It just looks as if something already died in those nurses, matrons and doctors

The truth is when an ailment or medical need is very critical, that big private hospital you use as a big man will refer you to a government owned Teaching hospital or specialist hospital. E get how person condition go take critical , the last resort will be a Teaching hospital like LASUTH, LUTH and co.

It's when such person gets referred there, he will understand the plight of the common man. You will get to emergency unit and they will tell you with smug face that there's no bed.

I mentioned here in the past how my own old man was treated in the car at the emergency unit of LASUTH in 2021. The Matron that came to lay the IV line for them to pass drip through his arm in the car said we are lucky we brought him in a car and it's not a taxi/uber. That's why she could attend to him promptly in spite of non-availability of bed.

I had to keep the engine of the car running and AC working for over 3 hours while the drip was being passed into his arm.

Good thing they have put out this disclaimer, but they shouldn't stop there. They should use some of FRSC IT budget to take down the scammers' websites and possibly track the criminals behind the whole thing.
