This is an evidence that If Ekweremadu’s case had happened in Nigeria , the boy whose organ was about to be harvested would’ve apologized for any inconvenience caused the esteemed ranking senator and maybe the judge would’ve ordered the boy to offer Ekweremadu both kidneys as comeuppance .

Indians don't talk their origins down, and poverty and corruption boku for there. See as this one dey give offering to Vishnu infront of no10 Downing Street
Indians and Africans have different sets of values ; they were also affected by colonialism differently .

That sense of patriotism, the communal lifestyle , the urge to identify with their roots; all of that works well for the Indian community anywhere they are. Same cannot be said for us .

In Africa we have so many people who are bitter about their conditions which fellow Africans are responsible for and such person will not hesitate to tell anybody that cares to listen about how bad his brothers are .

Just today I read that Atiku congratulated Trump and urge him to “ensure “ free and fair election in Nigeria . Can you imagine ? Atiku knows his fellow black man will never conduct a free and fair election so he’s looking up to the white man to do anything possible to ensure his own fellow black man will conduct a free and fair election 🤦‍♂️

How many Indians will be looking up to Putin or Trump to “ensure “ conduct of free and fair election in their country ? 🤷‍♂️ Shebi Britain too colonize them ?

This is what I am talking about. She does not have to say those things. But she is playing to white gallery

The more you Google her, the more you will see. She is a colonialism apologist. It would be easier to keep quiet as no one is asking her these questions. This is her chosen identity
At the risk of sounding defensive of Kemi, I think u are taking her political talks too serious .

That lady is a politician ; a British politician before any other thing . The mistake you are making is that you are seeing her as a Nigerian who should have the interest of Nigeria and Africa as a whole at heart ; but she’s not that person .

For example , I clicked that thread posted by Iamoyindamola and I noticed it’s the same video I had watched earlier where she was talking about some African countries demanding for reparations per the slave trade years .

That lady is a British lady and not just a random British lady but one of the few people who have a say in how government’s funding is spent . She literally said “ We need to put the UK first “. She has chosen a side already , there’s no need for me or you as a Blackman to start getting vexed with her for siding with the people that got her bread buttered .

I’m sure she didn’t just start talking about Africa in the interview , the interviewer definitely asked questions that led to that particular one . I know it’s painful to see a niggga siding with the white man on a discussion centered around colonialism and its after effects , but we need to let that shiiit go. Kemi is not one of us and she’s made that clear enough .

Around January 1995, Or "transformer blow". It was about 2 days before we played the King Fahd tournament in Saudi and we didnt get another transformer till about May 1995. So about 6 months of darkness, There was even no generator. So na full time lantern, candle and Atupa(kerosene in bottle then attack a wick to it)

while cooking with sawdust abacha stove, charcoal
These are quite relatable for almost everybody that time. People who had generators were people that are actually rich and just a handful of upper upper middle class. When there's no light, u simply sit outside ur house with ur family till late in the night to "collect breeze"

Technological advancement made those periods look like ages ago.

We were living in a 3 bedroom flat owned by my dad and we go put atupa in the kitchen and Candle in the parlor as source of light especially those times when they carry our transformer to NEPA workshop in Ijora for repairs

What do you call middle class in Nigeria? Are children of civil servants like teachers and Nurses also middle class cos I am certain they use candles in the 90s trek to fetch water, some used firewood and abacha stove

When you realize that delay in payment of workers salary has been going on for ver 30yrs in Nigeria
As in.... most of the things the lady said are actually relatable even for those that grew in the late 90's /early 2000's.

There were instances when NEPA would seize light for almost 2 weeks and u will have to go few kilometers away to fetch water either in another area where they have light or one rich man in the area who owns a "plant"(Those industrial generators) and decides to pump water for the whole community. At least I know almost everybody experienced this once in their childhood.

Almost everyone used lantern/candle to do assignment at one point in this country. Whether na inside Unilag ur parents live or inside OAU, na everybody dey experience power outage in this country.

I just read through this ur post about quotes from Kemi in the past describing her Nigerian experience. Everything she said about NEPA taking light, using lantern for assignment , Water Corporation not being able to supply water, etc are all through about those times.

She didn't tell any lies na. She may be too blunt about her experience but it doesn't mean they didn't happen. She is a politician arguing in favor of capitalist policies and ideals, so it is only imperative that she links her experience in Nigeria to the socialist policies run by Nigeria that . She's trying to do her job as a UK politician arguing in favor of capitalism.

At best she'd have gotten an acknowledgement of mail/letter, and a polite thanks. Most of these guys climbing up politically abroad, the really smart ones o, they almost never associate with their Nigerian roots, they're fully assimilated into the societies they now represent.

Even for us here, I don't know why our political and public officials celebrate Nigerian's getting political appointments in other countries overtly, even posting on their Twitter handles and whatnot...what does that serve really? She's a politician and that may be her own strategy to get what she desires the most.

Another thing you should know is that Nigerians are not Indians. That patriotic spirit, that communal lifestyle and watching out for each other the Indians have ingrained in them from childhood; we don't have that as Nigerians.

How do u think Nigerians who get asylum abroad secure most of their asylum papers? It is by selling Nigeria short na. You need to make allegations and prove that either the Nigerian state is after you, some group want to unalive you because of your sexxuality, You are being threatened by some dangerous groups and the Nigerian state has been unable to protect you from them etc.

It is only because Kemi is in politics and her stories are amplified in the media, that's why we seem angered that she's selling her roots short. Plenty people wey dey Europe & America sell the country shorter than her sef

Is there anywhere the lady has portrayed herself as someone who wanted to identify with Nigeria? Imagine Abike saying : It depends on if she identifies the "Nigerianess" in her. We have reached out to her once or twice without any response, so we don’t force people to accept to be Nigerian.

My question is : At what point did Kemi show Abike that there was any Nigerianess in her ? This lady has just clinched the highest seat for a black woman in UK politics without identifying with her Nigerian roots all through her journey; why do u think she will suddenly cozy up to you?

Kemi does not owe Abike or Nigeria or Africa anything jare. Make we commot face from her side.

She is British and is only willing to identify with the UK, so make our people sef rest! U can't force people to like you or speak good about you.

Middle class Northerner go leave KMC, ABJ, KD and move to Lagos that's culturally alien to him? Nothing wey Amoto no go read for NL?
The hijab wearing females in Lagos schools are mainly people from SW who are religiously conscious and partly Northerners resident in Lagos
It’s surprising to me too because I don’t see how a middle class northerner will voluntarily leave the north and start trying to acclimatize with the cultural shock that comes with moving down south .

Even when I was in university we have south western Muslims who don’t play with their hijabs .! So seeing more females wearing hijab doesn’t necessarily mean northerners are migrating .

In fact , I have a feeling that more Muslim ladies in the south are embracing head covering . I know girls who didn’t cover their heads in 100l but became hijab sisters before graduation . To me, I see it more like Christian ladies saying they are now born again, stopped wearing trousers and earrings.

I’m yet to notice any mass exodus of middle class northern families in Lagos .

Which parts of Lagos are they moving to ? Is it Yaba, Ikeja , Ikorodu, Oshodi, Bariga , Gbagada, Ifako Ijaiye, Lekki , Isale Eko or where exactly ?

I know quite a handful of teachers in government schools and none of them had mentioned any sudden increase in the number of northern students getting enrolled in their respective schools

That will be determined by where is closer
Its not like there is a wall stopping them from moving to Gusau and not to Sokoto or Kebbi if those places are closer. If you face terrorism in Alagbado you are likely to enter Sango Otta in Ogun state which is closer than move within Lagos state to say Gbagada
My point is those states are usually very big down north, so if something happens in a remote part, they basically just move to a more secured part of the state not necessarily abandon the state like that. That makes ur point about people emigrating in mass out of those states a very moot point. At the height of boko haram sef, IDP camps are located within the states not outside of them.

You think people are not fleeing Zamfara, Kebbi Yobe Borno where terrorism is the order of the day? Or do you think people are moving into those states like the normal stable state
Just look at what I was telling u few minutes ago:

The survivor noted that these attacks have plagued their communities for nearly nine years, driving many residents to seek refuge in Gusau and other areas. “There are no animals here anymore,” he lamented. “Once night falls, everyone is filled with dread, as staying in these communities overnight has become extremely dangerous.”
The attack of bandits has plagued the communities for 9 years, but you still have people living in that community. The residents who cannot put up with the incessant attacks only moved to more secure areas like Gusau. They didn't necessarily flee the state like you are positing.

At the height of Boko haram in Maiduguri, Univeristy of Maiduguri was not even shut down; people were carrying on with their lives. At the height of Boko Haram in Adamawa , Atiku's university in Yola didn't shut down. Even Yobe state sef, loads and loads of food trailers continue to pour down south from Potiskum.

Most of our food come from the middle belt actually and the farms in Borno and Yobe state have been abandoned. You cant have consistent terrorism of over a decade and not affect your population. People will move out, new people will refuse to move in
I made mention of the north in general meaning North West, North East and North Central. There is insurgency in almost all the parts of the north but the insurgency has not killed people at that exaggerated rate you are projecting. If u juxtapose the tens of thousands that have died due to terrorism side by side with the number of births in the north over that same period, u will see that surely insurgency didn't touch population growth down the north at all.

People are not fleeing the states at the rate you are projecting it to seem. Even at the height of boko haram, people didn't flee the affected state in hundreds of thousands.

You seem to forgot the vast amount of inhabited land mass these states have. What they usually do when attacks become rampant is to move to other parts of the states where attacks aren't incessant. It's just like moving from Badagry to Ikeja where security is more assured.

If people were fleeing the states like u are suggesting , how do u think we've been feeding in this country when u most of our food come from the north?

Dying is not the problem but mass emigration from those places and few to no immigration
There's really no mass emigration like you may want to paint it. Let me give you a very simple illustration of what I've observed.

We have seen the influx of Northerners to Lagos, Ogun state and other "happening " states down south in recent times. Yes those Northerners (mostly male adults) come down south to hustle as okada riders, security guards, cobblers, laborers , lawn mowers, etc.

BUT! these guys will spend months in Lagos , go back home to farm and impregnate their young wives who will give birth and start raising the kids in the father's absence. After another season in Lagos, he will go home to harvest his farm, maybe marry another wife(if he has bountiful harvest) , impregnate the new wife and maybe the first wife is pregnant with another baby.

In few years' time, u will discover that even though the man is the only one who emigrated to Lagos; he would have successfully increased the number of people in Jigawa because he has 3 wives and 8 children in his family in Jigawa while Lagos only gained one addition.

This is why I think population in those areas will continue to grow provided the father of the house continues to eke a decent living in Lagos and continues to repatriate Lagos income back home regularly.

You are correct. Population increases in a Geometric Progression and resources increase in an Arithmetic Progression. This is the foundation of the Malthusian Theory, and we are now suffering the inevitable "positive" checks. We could have helped ourselves by population control in the 80s when things turned sour for the economy.
You get.

In the North for example, only the upper middle class and educated people really consider hardship and economic situation when deciding on the number of kids they intend to have.
The unlettered people will just exercise their right to marry as many wives as their religion permits and then hope God in his infinite mercies will provide for them.
