One thing I have noticed about Christians here is that many of them are lazy and quick to throw insults. People are quoting verses to counter Adeboye's speech while many other Christians are behaving like Peter who thought he could use force to stop the arrest of the Christ.

The Bible is available everywhere but a lot of people claim to be too busy to study it. I keep a job that I can say is more demanding than bank jobs but I still do not joke with my quiet time. I do not joke with my Bible.

All I have seen in the Religion section just makes me sad. It's just the same outside. You will meet a Christian who does not know Jack about the Bible and will still shamelessly tell you so. The Word is a sword. How will you survive the end time when you know very little about the Word?

Alright, now, you are yourself an anointed man as long as you are of God. Once you join the body of Christ wholeheartedly (becoming blameless), you become a part of the Holy Priesthood. You become empowered to make spiritual sacrifices using Christ (Christ alone, not Adeboye) as a mediator. It is only by that name that you can reach God. And the Good News is that, that name is accessible to you as long as you believe.

You Christians need to start studying your Bibles. The end is near.

You people have taken this scripture out of context. We are all God's anointed. A new priesthood. These yahoo yahoo pastors do not like to be challenged (Just like the Pharisees), that is why they use that verse to shut you up from questioning any of their moves.

This verse has caused a lot of damage in the Church. Because of this verse, accountability and transparency have disappeared from the Church. Pastors can now do whatever they like with church funds without consulting with the members or their representatives. These verses have been abused in a way that makes pastors seem like God to the saints. Every member of the body of saints is supposed to be accountable to one another and each one to God. But today, pastors have made everyone believe that they are accountable only to God so they can do whatever they like without sanctions.

The point Im trying to make is while defending my wife or kids if the offender dies there is no big deal. People have taken meekness in Christianity to be stupidity. And the more reason why Christians are the prime targets of every religious wars. Christians believe you must not take arms to defend yourself but I dont believe that. Untill the Ibos took arms in the 80s to defend themselves in the north killing of Ibos and Yorubas did not stop. Untill Christians know there is no crime in killing someone while trying to defend yourself all the harazments and maimings wont stop.

The point Baba is trying to make is he will defend his wife to any lenght. And many dont want to see it like that. Saying all maner of evil about the man for his statement.

I still maintain it with no apology. I will defend my wife and kids both spiritually and physically to any lenght. If it means death to the offender so be it. No apology. I am not an Hypocrite. I am a Christian but if I need to take arms to defend my family I will do so.
An armed robber visits your home. You have a weapon that can kill him with you but because you are afraid of goin to jail if he eventually dies you allowed him to deal with your wife and kids. thereby loosing them. God forbids.
That person will live in regret for the rest of his life.

You have the right to defend yourself in the law and if you kill while defending yourself you will go away with it except you cant proof it in a court of law.

You have no point because you speak for yourself. As for Adeboye, if the Church was rightly structured, he would be an elder/overseer. Selfishness is not expected of him. Why has he not asked the "god" he serves to wipe out Boko Haram. Is his wife more important than the flock he is supposed to oversee on behalf of our Lord? So, other people can be killed but it takes touching his wife before he can ask the "god" he worships to strike them dead? You see why Paul thinks it is better for the saints to be like him (as in, you remain unmarried)?

"I would like you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the Lord's affairs -- how he can please the Lord. But a married man is concerned about the affairs of the world -- how he can please his wife." - 1 Corinthians 7:32-33
