otipoju: Welcome. On a good day we are very very accomodating to visitors especially for events like the naming ceremony and although red and black are not allowed because we believe they are symbol for suffering ( red) and mourning ( black). But trust me the popular negative public perception of Cele is far from the reality on ground. Your host ought to have hinted you and any other colour would have not have made them give you the sutana.
So much that the very Pastors who started and sustain the negative campaign actually flock to our church parishes for prayers and prophecies to guide their ministry.
Glad you enjoyed your time. We are a happy people and my own child naming is this friday in Atlanta. Caterer say make go buy goat on Thursday. Bro, nice meeting a Celestial member here. Regards to your new baby and the mother. Don't know why I love that naming procession hymn "Awa yoo dupe Away too dupe Ore t'olugbala se fun wa Oba aye o lese o Awa yoo dupe." |

Reference: But everything you know 'someone' made known to you... by whatever means or media. So rather than keeping shut why not 'transmit' knowledge. That is why every news media both 'reports' and 'opnionates'. The reportage is to 'when' and 'where'. While the opinions is to 'why' and 'how', which is the trigger for further inquest. Believe you me if your colleagues get the reasons and implications 'indeed', most will totally engross themselves in it. 'Light' is unmistakable. You won't believe I did my best to enlighten them about the ongoing war. I explained the issue of NATO and other beefs that escalated this issue to full blown war. I won't lie to you bro, they showed no interest. Even a lawyer among was gesticulating like "say something else" . Bro... didn't wanna see myself as a fool. Had to "keep shut" to save my head |

Oddfinder: Ukraine joining NATO translate to the US having military bases all over the border of Ukraine..spying on Russia. Ukraine will house nuclear weapons all aiming at Russia..by trying to join NATO Ukraine broke dos deals and Russia has to defend itself..just imagine Russian armies stationed at the Canadian border with the US..cant that happen? Will the us allow Russia to even have a military facility in Canada? That's wat the us want to do in Ukraine From this assertion up here, Ukraine should solely be blamed for this crisis. Why allow US to used them? They have have been used and dumped. US should be sactioned for using Ukraine as a bait. Now, I am sure US would have by now withdrawn it's troops from Ukraine border thereby making Ukraine to face the consequences of their actions alone. He world must unite and dialogue should be employed to stop this looming war. As I see it, Russia will crush Ukraine to crumbs in no distance time if this crisis looms on. |

Oddfinder: NATO, UK,US and all these inconsequential European countries cannot protect u from Russia. They Wil just push u enter fire..as it is now, Ukraine are on their own..the best thing now is to give up NATO..that's the only term Russia will agree to..me sef will not take wat Ukraine is trying to do..NEVER I haven't been following the news lately. What exactly is the basis of this war mongering? |

Macgyver1: I think its a tough situation right now. Any Nigerian living there should please try to stay safe & ofcause if this esr continues we should expect to experience hyper economic problems and inflation in Nigeria. . What has Russia dwindling economy has to do with inflation in Nigeria? It's even blessing for us. As in oil price has risen to its peak and of this persists, a barrel of oil could be sold as high as $150. This will surely push up our GDP and if our senseless at least 3 percent of their brain, it's in massive advantage to Nigeria's economy. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Ukraine Claims To Have Shot Down 5 Russian Planes and One Helicopter by Bobbyjay001(m): 8:35am On Feb 24, 2022 |
barojana: This is good news. But much of the country's defenses has been destroyed already.
Ukraine ought to have invested heavily in SAMs (Surface to Air Missiles). Same with Taiwan. You can't go head to head with a country like Russia or china through fighter aircrafts, but if you have a lot of Sams then good for you because enemy would lose a lot of its airforce.
You can't take out the Israeli military like this - which is also a defensive military. They have integrated five level of defences from iron beam (1), Iron dome (2) , David Sling n Barack 8 (3), Arrow11 (4), Arrow111 (5). The Israelis can crater anything that flies into their airspace from as low as 5 km to 2500km outerspace. They have air defenses laid from rooftops to those inserted inside the mountains.
This same model is what countries like Ukraine, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan ought to be using. Don't waste waste your money on fighter jets. You seem to know a lot about massive weapons of destruction. Bravo |

Just go check history, ask those who remember the fracas between yorubas and hausas in Isale Oko, Shagamu in 1996.
Forget it, Hausas can't overpower the yorubas in that region most especially in Ijebu.

Programming › Re: My Journey To The Programming World - Newbie by Bobbyjay001(m): 7:32pm On Feb 07, 2022 |
airsaylongcome: I don't know. A lot of people start of there in an attempt to start a programming career. I would say if it is 100% something you want to do irrespective of whether you earn "big" or not, then go ahead! I often advice people to dive into learning a programming language direct. HTML/CSS are not programming. Learn Python if you ask me Thanks for your input. I will look into it |
Programming › Re: My Journey To The Programming World - Newbie by Bobbyjay001(m): 2:28pm On Feb 07, 2022 |
airsaylongcome: My brother, age is not a barrier. I started programming around age 14 on a very antiquated computer. Those ones that were just a keyboard that you connect to a TV and drop into command line. Programmed in QBASIC. Saved the programs on a radio cassette. I was clueles about what I was doing but I was just typing the code from the book I was learning from. Fast forward to University and all I was doing was making sense. I was so good that I wrote my first programming exam 2 hours after coming from club and made an A. Programing I, II and CSC205-Data Structures and Algorithm were a breeze. This was back in the days of Redhat 3 I think. Then I got disillusioned and derailed. At 30 my senses came back and I had to refresh my Programming skills. Programming had migrated to Web Programming with PHP as king. I struggled to get HTML and CSS and PHP /mySQL into the the brain. But old soldier never dies. I went back to my C++ & Java jeje and OOP programming. The joy was undescribable. I have had highs and major lows (lost a job in a major Nigerian Gas Company that was paying ₦1.9m monthly at the time - we are talking years ago when dollar was ₦350). Went in to supply chain management and did Okay. But the pull from computing was too much. Came back into computing mid thirties and I must say I'm okay doing this. Persistence is key. You will overcome Las Las and will look at this learning period with joy.
I'm surprised (and pleased) that MirthOsas is encouraging you. I'm aware he is still learning the ropes and for some reason I like his spirit.
Edit (07/02/22): I was wondering why this post written months ago was suddenly getting likes. Thread hit FP lol. Talk that was going on quietly in the Programming section backwaters I want to venture into programming. Is it advisable I start with HTML or CSS? |
