Romance › To The Ladies: Loving You Or Using You. by Bolarge(op): 1:35pm On Nov 24, 2006

Chastity

Q  How do you know if a guy loves you or if he wants to use you?

A If you ever want to know if a guy loves you, apply the love
test. Here's how it works. I know a young woman who applied
this love test on a first (and last) date with a particular guy.
He made certain suggestions as to his intentions for the
evening but she informed him that she practiced chastity. He
responded, "That's okay. We can do other stuff" (implying
everything short of intercourse). She proceeded to give him a
crash course in the definition of chastity, and he
responded, "So you mean that I'm not going to get anything?"

He sounded like an eight-year-old boy having a tantrum
because his mother wouldn't buy him a Lego set. His request
coupled with the childish reaction shows that he had no idea
what he was asking for. He assumed that buying her dinner
should more than suffice to gain him access to the priceless
treasure of her body. This is the blindness that comes with an
irreverent attitude towards sex.

What this young woman did wasn't easy, but it was much
easier than dating the guy for six months before realizing that
he loved pleasure more than he loved her. Because she
practiced the virtue of chastity, she saw through the
manipulation that some people use to get others in bed. She
knew that if a guy pressured her to give him her body, then
he didn't love her. Because of a woman's great dignity-she is
made in the image and likeness of God-she deserves

authentic love. She must never allow herself to be used or
treated as a thing. Her body is priceless in the sight of God,
and her heart is to be treasured.

Although this love test will weed out a lot of immature guys,
only time will reveal a man's intentions. One man said, "If I
sensed there was a moral dilemma in her mind, I would play
any role necessary to reach the point where sex became
inevitable."i There are many good guys out there but there
are also plenty of predators who will tell a girl whatever she
wants to hear. Therefore, a girl needs to proceed slowly,
develop the skill of listening to her heart, and have the
courage to follow it. Otherwise, a young woman may be left
feeling as this fifteen-year-old did: "I felt strange, and in a
sense, used. It was like we were both caring for the same

person-him. I felt left out of it."ii

Family › Re: Man Discovers On Wedding Night That Wife Is No Virgin by Bolarge(m): 3:26pm On Nov 20, 2006
If breakin a hymen was his life ambition;well he should sack her with immediate effect(n'make a complete mockery of himself grin)There should be more to a relationship dn a claim to virginity.
If indeed d woman lied;she's broken faith. There's nothin like the pain of betrayal which what she did is tantamount to esp @ ds foundational stage of their marriage. What's more important to me now is if she's remorseful 'bout it.
However there is NOTHING on earth as powerful as the force of FORGIVENESS.In fact if d guy is smart enough(now ds is beyond what most of we guys can handle) he can use this opportunity to actually solidify the union even more by forgiving (and sincerely too).By doin so he would have released her to be the greatest woman (and treasure) God can bestow on any man alive.
Believe me she will literally live for him.
Food › Re: Guys Of The Board: Can You Cook? by Bolarge(m): 2:40pm On Nov 20, 2006
davidylan:
when you come from a home of just boys, you have to learn to cook. There's virtually nothing i can't cook if i really make up my mind to learn.
I can cook egusi as good as my mom does it, i actually taught a female cousin of mine (who is older than i am anyway) how to make moin-moin! Been ages i made that now undecided

An aunt i lived with then wouldnt eat moin-moin unless i made it and there were 3 girls in the house!!!

A friend taught me to pound yam 2 years ago, and he's a guy!!! He made it much better than my mom ever did!
@davidylan
So good t'know someone had d same experience I did. We're boys only(5 in no) n' mama didn't take no nonsense.By d time each of us wz 10 we were synthesisng all kinds of soup like pros--ewedu ,okra, ugwu y'name it. As per poundin yam?How d'u think I got my biceps? grin.
Pity I did very lil cookin during my university days-started eating out from my first day in UI.
Besides fryin dodo n'preparin rice, noodles n'd likes I haven't done any real cookin in like 3yrs.
I think the ladies actually do a lot to enforce d stereotype of "guys don't cook"esp while dating. In the last 1yr for instance my fiancee insists on doin d major cookin n'comes at least once a week just to flaunt her culinary skills proceeds of which she then keeps in d freezer to last d comin week.
Since she insists,who am I 2resist? wink
She's a much better cook anyway;at least now dt I'm quite rusty in culinary matters.

@cuddle

Aaaaaaaaw!So touching.
Funny thing is I'm happy for u in a funny sortta way;reason being y'seem to know what u want(at least y'know what u don't want which is a very good start).
Like other peeps've said keep yourself busy.Keep being on the look out for opportunities.
Find som'n u really love 2do n' u are good at.Y'see there're some things some people can do dt are not too popular/recognised yet but believe me if u've got a flair for it give it your best shot.Y'may just be the one to pioneer som'n great. Most pple simply follow trails others've blazed.
Are u good at relating wth people?-then get involved in an NGO dt's people oriented.
The orphanage thing sounds like a good idea but be prepared for possible let-downs(I've tried it before but u may have a completely different experience especially if u're better prepared mentally)
Truth be told-Opportunities abound only in people so please don't just shut yourself in.Get involved-with d right kind of people.
 Wish u d very best.

Why u so worked up now?Try relax.
Some peeps don't think it's ok to have sex in courtship n' u get all worked up.If u bother to check my first post in this thread all I said wz "No it's not ok" only to come back n'find all u free sex advocates tongue-lashing others who dared to dissent from ur view.
Mind u it's a free world;everyone's free to back their stance with facts n' if these facts happen to be religious what d'u have against that?
What amuses me is the fact dt u keep shouting the words "hypocrites" to the high heavens.Girl take a chill pill. Are u 100% sure everyone's doin the exact opposite of what they say?U are not.Period.For anyone who's had even a cursory exposure to psychiatry courses in school it's easy to read btw ur lines. wink

I find it so amazing dt u guys in support of premarital sex always believe dt if one voices out against it,he/she's a hypocrite.
D'u actually believe everyone's doin' it? I think u guys have deliberately put a veil over your own eyes.
Even in Sodom(as perverse as it was),d'u recall Lot's daughters were virgins who were engaged? This presupposes some of u reckon with the Bible anyway.
Truth is there will always be a remnant (no matter how few) who will not bow to the god of sexual compromise whether u advocates of free sex accept it or not.

NB: If anyone bothers to read the last few posts u'll discover  d pre-marital sex protagonists have been the irritable n' intolerant ones.
