When a man's life is at stake, he will do anything. |
For once i agree with PDP. |
I wish i had money to waste too. |
Daayyyuumm! This woman woo woo. |
raumdeuter:You do know that Jonathans pose is highly regarded over here. It indicates attentiveness and respect. Which is why the military insists that a subordinate must stand like that in front of a superior or be charged with disrespect to an officer or non commissioned officer. They wish they could make their children behave like that but alas they can't. |
kowema:Yeeaaahhh right!!!! |
ochejoseph:It is standard in any firing squad. |
signz:Don't be alarmed. It most likely is a mistake. For the idio.ts supporting this, i have this for you. You are happy to speak your mind for or against the president on Nairaland. Imagine the president decides to ban Nairaland from operating because he does not like some of the negative comments he receives. Bet you won't be laughing then, would you? |
Boscojugunu:A president does not have the luxury of being petty. He cannot bar a whole station from following his activities. If he doesn't like an individual representing the Tv station, he can withdraw the individuals press rights as regards being part of the press corp following the President. Not the whole Tv station. You'all are playing with fire for supporting this. Ever heard of press representation? This feels like de ja vu all over again. |
The fact that one has to give that kind of warning tells a lot about the country. |
like lambs to the slaughter house. Pity. |
quickly:Did you read his post? probably on it already . |
hahn:You are the second person i will issue this warning to; you are hereby barred from applying logic and especially common sense in any discussion on Nairaland. Most Nairalanders are not used to it and all you'll do is confuse them. Let this be your first and final warning. |
nduchucks:A couple of months ago, a woman in calabar got her breast cut off for supposedly stealing something. The same Nigerians you are defending did this to one of their own. The pictures were proudly displayed for all to see on Nairaland. No legal or due process was followed. As far as Nigerians are concerned, it is ok to kill our own illegally, but not for another country to do it legally. You have a country which has announced in no uncertain terms that if you bring in drugs to their country there is every likelyhood you will be executed, and yet you complain when Nigerians disregard their laws and warnings. Who cares if they only execute Nigerians. The point is, Nigerians should stop bringing in drugs to their country. |
olu77:Didn't mean to offend. |
olu77:Your statement makes no sense. When do you forgive? only when the person who offended you says "i'm sorry". Would you forgive whilst still being maltreated? and worse, in this case your brethren being murdered? |
Man U is gradually turning to Arsenal. Unpredictable. |
This guy is becoming a weird eccentric. |
I no fil lie; see how three mofos clear that place like no mans business. I no fit do am lai lai without lawn mower or weed eater. Nija boys are strong i swear. |
Back in the day, if i absolutely had to, i would pick Calabar for retirement in a heart beat. Calabar, because it so clean and peaceful. I don't know about now though. I was born, bred and raised in Lagos and was only opportuned to visit Calabar because of work. Next would have been Port harcourt. The only problem i had was those touts who would pounce on a company branded vehicle and fleece every nickel and dime from you. Third would be Ibadan. What can i say, I am a sucker for quality Amala with gbegiri and ewedu ![]() |
dabossman:I get that, so where does he sleep? |
dabossman:What about night travel? You are talking like Nigeria is an epitome of security. Of course a guy traveling alone is an attractive target. |
Basket mouth has really come a long way. I remember his very first show ever for Benson and Hedges, which was ran through Cosse, now known as Cosse'bates in GRA Ikeja. We were temp promoters/marketing staffs at the time. (memories. . . .best years of my life). He walked up to me after the show, and you could tell he was not very sure of himself at the time, and asked, "i try?". I thought he was nuts. He absolutely killed it. "of course you try" i replied. He's gotten less funny over the years but kudos to him though. |
DONBROTHER1:Just because you wish it to be, does not make it so. Did you read how much is pumped into Egypts military on an annual basis? If it were based on my ratings, Nigeria would be last. How you rate the military is in part based on it's relationship with the citizenry. The military should be seen as servants to the people, not harrassers or oppressors. |
dabossman:You are right about that. The key word is nomad. Nomads never move out on their own. They move in a pack for security. Which means that the gentle could not have done it on his own. So, who was there with him? I don't care who you are, no one can walk that distance without security in mind. |
Rekit:The gentleman's claims can be easily verified. Embarking on such a journey would require funds and a place to stay. Where are the hotel reciepts? He is not going to trek all day and all night. He would have had to bed somewhere. What with the insecurity in the country. He'd be a fool to do that. |
CountDracula:Will calmly respond AGAIN AND AGAIN till you get it (hopefully). The reason why Nigeria/Nigerians wont change is because of certain people who have been immersed in a certain way of life for so long it is almost impossible to shake whatever shackles have held their mental and psychological makeup. What is frowned upon elsewhere is smiled upon by Nigerians. What is taken seriously elsewhere is taken lightly by Nigerians. I smile at your . . . . . |

CountDracula:Point of discussion is not if it is a real account or fake. Point is someones life was threatened and you dismissed it as non consequential. To you it is normal and should be taken lightly. Points to your psychological and mental makeup. Because you have nothing to live for does not mean someone else doesn't. Trust me, once you start exploring other civilizations your outlook will improve. |

CountDracula:Only in Nigeria where life means absolutely nothing will someone make such a statement. Go to a normal society and threaten someones life and see if you are not in handcuffs in a blink of an eye. You'all need to start exploring other "normal" societies. You've been cooped up too long in Nigeria and you think the way things are done there is normal. FYI, making threats to someones life is an idiotic thing to do. If the threatened person dies tomorrow, even from a paper cut, guess who's door the cops will come knocking first? And to think there were 21 mor.ons who liked his post. |
