Politics › Re: Buhari's Promises In Pictures, For Posterity. by Bollinger(m): 7:11pm On May 02, 2015
It has been proven statistically that Africans, and probably Nigerians are the dumbest people on the planet. The concept of trying to solve a problem by applying the same parameters and expecting different results is very true with Nigerians. A politician promises 3 million jobs per annum, 5000 naira to x number of people monthly, e.t.c, and no one see it prudent to ask how he would achieve it before becoming president. A leader is a direct reflection of it's citizenry. So, since Nigeria has been having crappy leaders, it is because Nigerians are crappy people. Remember, the concept of democracy is that an overwhelming percentage of people with the same mindset will vote an individual to represent them in govt. So you pretty much get what you pay for.

We need to hold our politicians to their promises. No more promise and fail. No more one chance politics. Buhari must deliver or else...........he'll be branded a villian.

Hmmm sounds like a town I use to live in the Eastern Cape...one minute its sunny then the next its raining. It was strange but I never associated it with global warming...i just thought it was linked to staying close to the coast. I can blame rising see levels on global warming but I wouldn't automatically link it to inconsistent weather. How do you justify your link? I'm curious
Sorry i cannot continue the conversation. A previous engagement just made a timely appearance. Have a good weekend.

Ok...please tell me how often you and your friends talk about global warming? If I'm happy with your answer then ill engage with you...fair?
No joke. Everyday. Yesterday, it rained in the morning for two hours, hailed dropped for another hour; almost broke my windscreen, it almost snowed, and was sunny in the afternoon. If that isn't global warming i wonder what is. Your turn.

I am not particular about which one i wear. It depends on my mood. Personally, i'd prefer free balling; more freedom and ventilation. As per a "deep stuff" conversation, lets talk about global warming. You start.

This is animal brutality, why was the snake mobbed and killed by these uncivilised eggheads! angry
The murder of this poor creature begs for more questions than answer
Did the snake bite anyone?
Did the guy die?
What was the snake's offence to have been murdered in cold blood like that?
How long has the cobra been living in that hostel with them.
Could it be that the cobra (most likely a female) digs one of the students and slithered to his bed to profess her love for him only to meet her untimely death in the hands of this unruly savages.
Where are the animal rights activists when you need them in this country?

FriedPlantain

You've been reading too many yahoo headlines. It is animal cruelty if the boys went out to look for the snake just for the fun of it. The snake was found in their room, on one of the bunks. And if it is true it was a cobra, which i don't think it was, because at least one would be dead by now, then they were damn lucky. I repeat, the snake was found in their room. This is a very very poisonous reptile we are talking about. I bet if you were in that position, you would have used a knife, cutlass, gun, cinder block, and probably hung the snake.

Biggest sign of Insecurity. . . Itz very Wrong like Rongw grin
It depends on the stage of the relationship. When i and my wife first started dating, i vehemently disagreed with her friends and i was intent on breaking the bond tying them together. I started making some restrictions on the amount of time she spent with them. There was a party i got wind off that her friends were planning to go to, and i told her i did not want her to go. She said she wasn't but i was not sure. I knew when the party would have started and i decided to call at her house four hours later. She was with her dad at home watching T.V. I trusted her completely after that day. You need to understand how close she was with those gals. It was a major milestone for me. For married couples, it would be insane to monitor your spouse. Why? because if you have to, then you are in more trouble than you realize. Trust in a marriage is the foundation of your relationship aside from communication. Lastly, in the initial stages of a relationship, women secretly like being checked up on. It shows we care, but, too much at that stage destroys the growth of the relationship.

Those are two different pictures and not one and the same. The top half is just a random aircraft used for God knows what and the bottom picture is that of drone pilots. See the joystick on the right side of the soldier in the bottom half picture? Those are used to pilot drones.

http://www.lailasblog.com/2015/05/nigerian-witch-doctor-jailed-14-years.html#sthash.Rl5gsqIR.dpuf
The headline is very misleading. The OP is claiming that he was jailed for providing juju to drug traffickers. For that to happen it means that the U.S judicial system believes and recognizes the existence of juju in the first place. That is an emphatic NO. Remember, they are not Nigerians and therefore psychologically and mentally stable. He was jailed for conspiracy to distribute not for providing juju.

Education › Re: Is It Illegal To Buy Dead Bodies In Nigeria? by Bollinger(m): 10:41am On May 01, 2015
You are not supposed to buy bodies. But like everything in Nigeria where everything is in reverse, the norm does not follow. Citizens are asked during, lets say, applying for a drivers license, what they want their remains be done with. And, upon their death, it is used for that purpose. But since there is no reliable database in Nigeria, that option cannot even be considered.

Remember the good times where there was no such thing as an app and all mobile phones were used for was communicating, a game or two of Snake and messing around with your ringtones?

I remember forming "Akanchawa" music tone with composer. Yea, then it was awesome.

If you were born in the late 80s - early 90s like us, we're pretty sure you remember those days.

How is it that mobile hardware and software that was made 20 years ago still beats the smartphones that the big companies distribute today?

The Nokia 3310 is still by far the best cell phone I have ever had. lol

It was effortless, quick, never broke and the battery life could last for days if not a whole week!

And not to mention all the epic games they had..

What do you say, miss the good old days or are you happier with your new smartphone?

Politics › Re: Buhari First 7 Horrible Acts Since Becoming President Elect by Bollinger(m): 6:17am On May 01, 2015
My previous posts on some of these issues. Well done OP;

1. On forming a transition team;
Bollinger:
Nigerians and their mumu mentality. I guess a lot of people do not see any problem with this. He should be keeping a low profile until he is sworn in so as not to give the impression he has another govt aside the one in power at the moment. And what is he transitioning for. Are you saying there is not a system already in place? This is why Nigeria never seems to be moving forward. Everything is always contrary to norm.
2. On barring AIT from covering his activities:

Bollinger:
A president does not have the luxury of being petty. He cannot bar a whole station from following his activities. If he doesn't like an individual representing the Tv station, he can withdraw the individuals press rights as regards being part of the press corp following the President. Not the whole Tv station. You'all are playing with fire for supporting this. Ever heard of press representation? This feels like de ja vu all over again.
3. On Nigeria's bloated expectations:

Bollinger:
Why do i have this feeling Nigerians are expecting too much from these guys. We made the same mistake with Obama, when we expected miracles only to be left with a worse society. Economically, he did fine but societal decay is worse than economic failure. You can recover from the latter quickly, but the former takes forever to bounce back from. Nigeria is suffering from both, and it will take a miracle to recover from it. Hope your expectation won't be dashed too quickly.
And a lot of Nairalanders don't see a problem with what he's doing. You'all have not seen anything yet. GMB would have been a better choice. He was useless but predictable.
