Hello Please can I speak with you in private. This has nothing to do with the thread that’s why i’m asking it be in private. Thank you. Naijaforeigner: Paper route (if you are applying in Nigeria) = Yes, Online = No
If you are applying in United Kingdom via paper or online route, you will NOT submit your passport unless requested by CIC.
Please check conditions of the country you are based. |

Please wait till you uncle gets his citizenship. What you want to do with the B1/B2 visa is illegal, so please wait. Just have patient, get a job and build your come ties. Good luck. Egwuleke: Good day gurus in the house! pls I have a question that needs urgent answer because am confused right now.
I am a fresh graduate who just completed NYSC last year December and currently have no job yet.
My uncle says he wants me to come to United States this year and he wants to use his best friend's wedding coming up in june as a medium to bring me over. Again, he told me that he would be getting his citizenship by december this year and he said when he finally gets it, he can use the medium and file for me next year only if I can wait till then.
My problem now is that I really want to try that of his best friend's wedding coming up in June since am not even sure he might get the citizenship by this year as proposed and the wedding will still pass me by.
Meanwhile, I have no major traveling experience, I have only been to South Africa and Ghana all my life and again I have no major means of income and no job yet.
Pls help me in this situation, do I stand any chance with that wedding invitation or should I just relax and wait for my uncle to acquire his citizenship first and which one of the two means do I stand a good chance? Again, the plan is that I will stay back in United States and my visiting visa status changed.
I am really confused and it's affecting me day by day because I don't want to make any mistake. |

When you get the acceptance letter, the tuition is written in it. If the school said the part payment is towards the tuition fee, then it is included. DBlessedofGod: Many thanks again @Bracha for your time . When you say tuition +10000 CAD is the tuition in this case the part payment made to get your acceptance letter from the university or total amount payable for the complete study? |

Purpose of visit Proof of Financial support For purpose of visit, i just kept saying i was coming back to seek employment here. For finance, i paid a part of my fees. This was a risk, as it does not guarantee visa issuance. God showed up and it ended in praise. sillysassysally: What were the reasons for refusal and what did you do differently the third time? |

Online is actually less stressful compared to paper. JustMellow: Paper route would be advised given to the same processing location whether online or paper route which is presently Kenya. Why go through all the stress for online??
BTW my opinion but the preference is yours! |

Hello, Get the visa first then you can drop the certificate course and switch to the master's. Timothyphillips: @GboyegaD thanks for your response but my take is this-- D admission for fall 2019 is a certificate course while the one for winter 2020 is a masters degree (which is what I want)... The admission for fall 2019 is out already pending visa processing but the one for winter 2020 is yet to come out... In a case the visa goes through for the certificate course and the admission for winter 2020 comes out... My reason for asking... Kindly advice. Thank you |

Hello BU admission decisions start going out in March. So start expecting them now. If you think it's taking long, just email Jennifer McIntosh, and she'll respond to you. She's really nice. Good luck. Hope95: Seems universities in manitoba province are yet to release admissions to their schools, I also applied to Brandon University Masters in Manitoba Province but yet to get a feedback
That application deadline date is so close to allow you go through visa application process, that must be your concern, but you can start preparing required documents down |

Hello, To the best of my knowledge, I don't think this is the case BUT i could be wrong. Please ask the others. If he has sufficient money in his account, he can be self-sponsored. As long as there's enough money for: his tuition + 10000cad/11000cad as the case may be, and for the family's upkeep in the account, and the money is easily accessible. Then he's good to go. For further clarification, you can seek the advise of others; Frankrobbn1, justwise, GboyegaD, makano, Austacus, 02viber etc. Cheers DBlessedofGod: Thanks a bunch @ Bracha I was thinking there is suppose to be a flow with the one submitted in the school. Hello, I don't think you can do this. Here's why: in those 3 months between September and January, what will you be doing? Yes you'll have a work permit but the law states that you can't start work until you resume school. So, how will you feed for those months? So, you can apply, get the visa then wait till you're close to your resumption, then you go. Also, winter months are very cold in Saskatchewan - this is where the University of Regina is located - so I suggest you go in the Fall and acclimatise before the winter period. But, I'll like you seek the advise of others on this. Cc justwise, frankrobbn1, GboyegaD etc. Timothyphillips: Thanks for your response If you have two different admissions from same school (university of Regina)... One for fall 2019 while one for winter 2020....can I get the visa for the fall 2019 but get to Canada by September and decide to enrol for the winter 2020 admission.. Can I do this?.... Thanks Guru |

Hi, What CV? The one he submitted to the school? If that's the one you're referring to, I don't see a problem. Study permit application and admission application are two separate and somewhat unconnected things. I could be wrong, but I don't think the content of one's application documents are shared with the visa offices/officers. So, he could always change that role on his CV. Hope this help, unless you're asking a different question, then it might not help lol DBlessedofGod: Dear Seniors n Gurus, Pls am new here and I need help. My spouse is applying for MBA admission in canada which an almost certain he will get by God's grace. However there is an issue am preempting, my spouse is currently running his company which he wrote on his cv as working in the company as a staff not the owner.
My fear is how will this affect TRV application? Pls your expert judgement is needed. |

Hi, I don't know if this would work tho. One of my applications was w/out proof of financial support, even though I included my funding letter, i was still denied. I'm not trying to discourage or scare him, but I'll advise you to tell him to have at least 1m in his personal account if he won't be including a sponsor. And in his SOP/LOE he should properly explain that the scholarship will be more than enough to cover the 2 years of his study. My two cents. GboyegaD: I do not think you need a sponsor. My roommate came in last session on full funding without any additional sponsor except for personal savings. I never attached any additional sponsor during my time either. That is the reason I suggest you use online as it doesn't complicate things. Your own personal savings to cover the cost of flights coupled with your funding letter (provided it covers tuition + $10k cost of living) is sufficient. |

Hello, So sorry for all these refusals and delay. Those denials won't affect your chances of applying for a study permit again. I applied thrice, got denied twice and was given on the third attempt. So don't worry about that. Also, I don't think there are "African VOs". I think they are all Canadians living in African countries. Good luck. blet: Pursuing Canadian visa has made me know what real heartbreak is. I earlier applied June last year, for study visa, My mistake was I applied with my wife ( we saw an advert somewhere online saying we could apply together), well, we were rejected visa. i applied alone on nov 3rd 2018 they didnt even waste time, by 22nd November they informed me my visa was rejected. Now its on their record I applied twice and was rejected twice: travel aplication history is affected. I have not given up sha, but have I completely ruined my chances to get visa to Canada? Does anyone think I could apply to Canada in the future? Or should I just focus on other countries? What if I try through PR would my record affect my application? God bless the African VOs and VOs worldwide who say we wont come back. |

Hello, I don't know if you've been answered, but I'll add this: YOU DO NOT NEED A SPONSOR WHO LIVES IN CANADA. You just need one who has enough money to prove that they can take care of you while you're there. Please don't be deceived. Even your dad can be your sponsor, as long as he has the money to show. Hope this helps. Johnsonkelvin: yeah,he gave a new suggestion for my case,I didn't know we were also meant to have a sponsor in Canada, aside from my original nigerian sponsor. Hello, Let me use myself as an example. I got a funding for 20K for a year, but had to use a statement of account that had 28K as a closing balance for the application. So what i'm saying in essence is use a statement of account that has as much money as you can possible have. SOA should have tuition+10,000cad in it. Good luck. Senator35: Hello Famz, I am planning to apply for a Canadian study visa in few days. I got admission to study for an MSc/PhD degree in Chem & Pet Eng at University of Calgary. I applied initially for a PhD degree but was offered due nonavailability of enough funding to support my PhD studies. I was promised a change of program depending on my first semester performance. My scholarship is worth $21k per annual and will like to confirm if that funding will be enough for upkeep. Please note that the funding will be used to cater for the tuition fee as (tuition of about $14k for 1st year and $3k for 2nd). Thanks. |

Hello, While i can't help with other questions, i'll speak on question 2. You can get masters with funding with a 2.2 depending on the CGPA, and the intended course of study. If Toxicology isn't really working out, look for other courses related to your undergraduate course. Just use Google. There is a wealth of knowledge that can be accessed through it, take advantage. Hope this helps. JeffPhoenix: Hi guys Im Jeff, great work here. Your works are very helpful.
Please I have a situation on my hands. I have a sister in Canada who asked me to apply for a school there for my master's once done with my BSc. But unfortunately I didn't graduate with a second class upper. It has really affected my chances because she originally planned I will apply and get funding for the course... Toxicology under Biomedical Science in any university. Most unis in canada require a second class upper last I checked. ( pls you can correct me on anything here). I mailed the graduate program assistant in the University of Guelph who told me that I could apply for upgrading... to upgrade my degree to enable me apply for the masters program.
1. Has anyone any experience in the upgrade and how it works
2. Does anyone know any school where I can apply for with my results and still get funding or a scholarship.
3. How much do you think the upgrade will be. ( mailed the undergraduate counsellor of the school... still waiting for their response but just thought should ask here as well)
4. Is there any additional information you could help me with. It'll be really appreciated.
Thank you. |
