Lol... chill. He's just speaking based on what he's seen. Remember it's different strokes for different folks. If you've gotten your biometric validity letter, don't worry. They haven't officially informed you of a decision yet, so continue in your prayers and continue believing God that you've received it.

Good luck.

Determinedsoul:
Does that mean that one cannot receive correspondence letter b4 medical request sir? Does it mean that everyone that received correspondence letter b4 medical request were denied? I was this king correspondence comes after background check before eligibility review. My thought oh! I don't know ooh.

I heard of someone that got her eligibility review b4 her medical request. And she equally got her visa.

Hello,

I've never attended either school but I know they are really good school. I don't know what these negative reviews are, but if they are based on areas you deem important, then look for another school.

Cheers.

Mofpearl:
Hello house,

Is there anyone who attends or has attended Dalhousie or University of Manitoba?

What is your review of the university?

I have read really negative reviews about both universities so I am seeking more reviews and I hope someone may be able to shed more light on this.

Hello,

Congratulations on your admission.
Your sister can be your sponsor.
What is required in the sponsor's account is tuition+10000cad; so in your case it is 6300cad+10,000cad.
I'm assuming your sister has other dependents apart from you, attached to her. Which means she should have way more than the 16300cad in her account, so that if she gives you the money, she can still have much left over for her other dependents. So, when applying (i.e submitting the statement of account), make sure she has way more than 17000cad in her account.

I hope this helps.

good day friends. i recently applied for graduate diploma program in Canada. i am having issues with my proof of financial support. my immediate elder sister wishes to sponsor my education, she stays in uk and earn close to 4000pounds monthly, i want to ask if she can be my sponsor. my tuition fee is can$6300 which am to pay can$710 per semester and i learnt i need to provide an extra $10000 for living and housing expenses.

am i required to declare this total amounts at once $6300 + $10000 or part of it

Please advice on what to do, am really working on tight budget and i dont want my application for study permit and visa to be denied

Hello,

I think @042viber has replied you. But i'll add my two cents: you can apply without an agent, and successfully get the visa. I'm talking from experience. You'll need to go to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/get-documents.html to know what you'll need. Then come back and we'll walk you through the difficult ones.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

I'm happy for you, that your heart desire was granted and you're now in Canada. While i don't have answers to your questions (because really, who knows if cic checks these things, we don't work there), I have a question of my own:
This forum has given a lot to you - through the help of Gd and the little knowledge you got from here, you got your visa - how have you in-turned given back to people here?
Or are you one of those people who just take but don't give back?
PS: i'm not judging you, just curious about how you've given back to his community. why? because you've come here again to ask for help, only God knows when you'll be here again after this help is rendered to you.

Sigh! Kenya is at it again!
For GCMS note, use google to find a website where people help others apply. Nairaland doesn't allow the promotion of external websites
Travel history isn't a viable reason for rejection, so just get your gcms note, post a copy of it here (with vital information blurred out) and we'll try our best to help you.

HELP!!
Hello, just found out about this forum, I applied for undergraduate study permit on the 18th of January. I used paper route at the vfs center in Lagos, with no medicals and got rejected today, less than a day it begun eligibility review. I finished high school July 2017 and was mostly working with my family friend
Documents
Waec, high school transcript, high school testimonial,500cad deposit receipt, my birth certificate, new/1st passport I did last year, Admission letter from the university, all the imm forms but in the family own I Used imm5707,so I didn’t include my siblings details(there wasn’t column for it},my SOA of 100k +
My dad was my sponsor, I added his business certificates, reference letter from bank, sponsorship letter ,landed properties survey, deeds to some shops in the market,SOA( personal had cash flow of 50m+ and closing of 8m,while the business cash flow was 100m+ with closing of about 13m both 6months respectively).
Please how do I apply for GCMS note as I don’t know anyone in canada and also how to I tackle this travel history stuff and not being able to fund myself without working since my dad is my sponsor and funds look good,or is it cause of my bank statement I Iincluded. ASAP

I didn't ask because in this case, the PGD is a bridging program. All he has to do is explain the correlation between both courses properly and give valid and convincing reasons why he's chosen to do the program in Canada instead of Nigeria.

Also, he needs to look for a solid home tie and increase his prayers.

Hi,

You can use your company as a home tie. You can say you put someone there to manage it while you're away and will need to come back immediately to continue running it.

I'm sure someone else will help out more, but your company could be a strong home tie.

Cheers.

I’m just so confused now sef, the reason we wanted to use my company in the first instance is because of home ties, my dad can sponsor me, that’s why I’m using my company as first sponsor and dad as second sponsor, but now that ure saying it has to be a big company with high influx of cash, i don’t understand anymore, my dad can sponsor and maybe my uncle too but the thing is issue of home ties, how do I convince the VO I’m coming back...pls advice...Didn’t know it would be this hard I just thought if I get admission all the rest na small thing, admission sef is the least of problems.

Hello,

For funds and assets: based on what was written in th refusal letter, when re-applying, you'll need much more than the 11.9m you have. You'll need to have your tuition + 10k cad in your sponsor's account before you apply.

For family ties: I'm guessing you stated that you have family in Canada; if you did this, it was wrong. I don't know how to undo it, so maybe someone else can help out there.

For purpose of visit, you'll have to tell us what course you're going for and what your undergraduate course was so we know if there's a correlation.

I hope this helps. Hopefully someone else can be of more help to you.
Cheers.

When one graduates from some colleges and universities they are eligible to Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP). It is the institution you will look up to know if they offer PGWP eligible programs.

You can check the CIC link below. Input the province or territory and check if the university or college offers such.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html

After you've decided on a course of study, you can apply to anyone with YES indicated. Also, because your CGPA was very low, maybe you should consider another undergraduate degree if you're finding it hard to get a master's admission.

I hope this helps.

@determinedsoul, I don't know if it was you who did upfront medicals and wanted to update your profile, please look at this and ask him how he did his so you can update yours asap.

Wish you all the best.

nitrogen:
Just to complete the story.

Family application on Dec 28, biometrics on Dec 31, upfront medical for us on Jan 2, then we updated our application with copies of the medical sheets.

Approvals for myself on Jan 22, my madam, Feb 5 and my boy Feb 9.

Programme - MBA (I think number one business school in Canada, am not too sure sha)

Documents submitted include birth certificates, educational certificates, my employment letters, proof of funds documents, no sponsor, letter of explanation for myself as the main applicant (2 pages), another for my wife (just 1 page), ties to home country (land documents, my rented apartment in Lagos, car docs, etc.), admission docs, CIC forms, etc.

God is great, He will complete the work He has just started.

As for those expecting goodies from CIC, just hang in there, yours is very much close.

On to the next one!

@Bracha, As long as we are human, we are bound to make mistakes. What distinguishes a forward-looking person from an intransigent one, a virtuous person from a dishonest one, however, is whether one can candidly admit to one’s mistakes and take bold steps to redress them, which I believe he @042viber12 did. Thus, let's face what brought us here and be contented subjects of our kind.

@042viber12, you've always being of great support to this platform and have taken your time to respond to some many queries in here. I admire your sincere desire in assisting the new bies, not minding that your application is still pending response from IRCC. Keep it up bro. Continue with the good works and never relent. I hope to see more of your contributions on this window.

Cheers!
Hi @Frankrobbn1 nowhere in my question did I state one cannot make mistakes, so please don't put words in my mouth. On this forum, everyone contributing is doing so based on deductions from data (application timelines posted/gcms note posted/personal experience etc.) collected from here or elsewhere: no one here is a VO, so when one posts something that doesn't ring true, questioning it is crucial - it's part of the learning process we're all here for. If he makes a statement and i'm unclear about it, I have a right to ask a question for clarity sake. Allow me ask my question without attempting to shut me up.

And the highlighted phrase, what does that even mean?

PS: 042viber12 you really are doing a good job, well done. Thanks for the clarification. Cheers bro.

Hello everyone,

Please, I want to re-apply for a Canadian study permit that was denied in December 2018. A friend advised me to attach a rebuttal letter alongside my letter of explanation and other supporting documents. is this right?
Hi,
Sorry for your denial. A rebuttal letter would come in handy if the actual reasons for the denial is known to you (you'll know this by ordering the gcms note for the application). When the reasons are known, then, you include your rebuttal in your application, in the form of a Letter of Explanation (LOE); where you explain how you tackled the reasons for the refusal raised by the visa officer. Please don't mistake it for a statement of purpose (sop). SOP is a norm for every application, while LOE addresses the reasons for the refusal and how you've solved them.

I hope this helps.

PS: people have been known to apply w/out sop and their applications approved. But everyone is advised to include one.

Lastly, u need to explain the career prospects of u doing an apprenticeship in welding...Wat I mean is what will u offer wen u come back, wats the employability of your course in Nigeria...also that letter your bro wrote saying he will house u, pls don't put it again cos dat might cost your own bro his stay in canada...
Hi,

I'm going to address the highlighted text based on my experience: I had a closing balance of 240K in my account when I submitted my application, with a total debit and credit of 700k for just 3 months even with spells of dry account in-between. I don't know how much my sponsor had, I didn't check his account (wasn't interested). But I still got the visa by the grace of God.

I've seen a guy here who only submitted the scholarship letter given to him by the school as proof of funds and he got the visa.

My point? There's no cic standard for money in one's personal account. Money required for study is stated, and it isn't categorised.

Also God is the pivotal factor after all has been said and done. Yes, have your millions, but the God factor is the most important.

Pls people rushing to go do upfront medicals immediately after submission, despite the fact upfront medicals fastens it and by "fastens" it means it will still stay the normal 3-5months or hopefully less, wen it gets to the eligibility review stage, it goes directly to passport request... mind u, cic doesn't care if u do the Medicals..if u are denied..its more like u have wasted money on doing it...I believe even we u reapply, u will still do another medical(might be wrong shaa) I urge if u are doing upfront medicals, wait for at least 2months after submission..so dat by the 2months, u will probably have a clue wea your application progress is...
I don't know if what i'm about to write is still the norm, but medical test results use to be valid for 12 months - it was on the cic website - which meant that if you applied again during the period of its validity, you could still use it/refer to it if a medical examination was requested again. Things may have changed now, i'm not too sure.

UCI means (Unique Client Identifier), is an offical number given to applicants that has previously applied for a visa to Canada whether through the online or paper route. This number will be used in the applicant future applications with the Canadian government. If this is your first time of applying for a Canadian visa, you are ought to leave the space blank.

Congratulations to everyone - those who have received or those who haven't. It'll all end in praise.

I always insist on FAITH. Faith in God is the most important thing in any application - and by extension anything you do in life. If you believe you'll have it (irrespective of what the devil tells you when he brings doubts to your mind) you will definitely have it.

A scripture that strengthened me immensely during my application was Mark 11:22-26. I always prayed with verses 23 & 24, declared them out loud into my application and my life - especially when the devil came with thoughts of doubt and fear - as they are God's promises and will He'll always fulfil His promises towards His children.

I hope this encourages and helps someone.
