Austacus' reply should do. Don't stress yourself too much about online or paper, just choose, submit, and go and pray. I wish you good luck. Asapant: Bracha. The Inquiry I'm making is if it possible I get access to the internet at VFS so as to download the IMM forms and fill with their computer at VFS. I think I ealier explained the issue am facing. I thought the question was if they had stayed in a designated country, and if they had if they did medicals or something like that. Anyhow, knowing the designated countries helps them make whatever decision they want to make. Cheers JustMellow: I think these monikers are referring to medical options available to an applicant who have stayed in a designated country for 6 consecutive months. |

If you're applying for a study permit (SP), you do not need to submit an application for a temporary resident visa (TRV) along with the SP application because a TRV is what will be stamped on your passport. Just fill the application form for "Application for a Study Permit made outside of Canada" and other relevant forms listed and then apply. Please find relevant forms listed in the link below: fill only forms that apply to you. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/student.asp?countrySelect=NG#applicationsJaylap: Please help! I am unable to upload IMM 5257 form on my application after I validate and save it |

No, it isn't. I wrote the link to the list of designated countries, which means that if you haven't been to/in any of the countries for 6 months, you answer 'no' there. Cc ic3tipz SeriaBravo also Chukwuemekatehi: I think this is quite different bro. |

Hello, 1. Just pay the lump sum into your account and leave that money there as proof. They want to see you have enough money to take care of yourself, while your investments show you have money, they don't know if the money will be available immediately you need it. That's why we advise enough cash be in the account that will be presented. 2. Yes, your spouse can be a co-sponsor. 3. I don't know about the domiciliary account. Austacus can help with this. 4. Yes you can, but make sure the statement of account has the required amount in it. i.e tuition + 10,000cad (if you haven't paid tuition). Hopefully someone else gives you a more detailed advice. DBlessedofGod: Congratulations to all who have received approval of visas, reading your success stories gives me great hope. I believe I will also share my testimony soonest.
Dear Seniors n Gurus, I need your advice, I intend to sell off 2 of my investments a land n car to have liquid cash in my account as most of my money is tied on investments e.g land, Mutual fund, rsa etc.
My questions 1. Can I pay the lump sum into my account and use to buy treasury bill or fixed deposit to show it's intended for my tuition 2. Can my spouses savings be included as part of source of my finances 3. Can I open a dorm account and pay the money into a dollar account. 4. Can I submit investments that are in my spouses name during my application? As all our investments are in my spouses name except for cars
Pls i need n appreciate your advice.
Thanks in anticipation |

I didn't even have my birth certificate yet I got the passport lol Best201195: @bolded. I remember when I wanted to get my Intl passport. I decided to go through the online route. I paid and printed my documents. Got to the immigration office and one officer there told me that I'm whining myself. He said if I wanted an Intl passport I will pay at the office physically. I had to pay and start again. I dont know where that first payment went to as if it's not the same immigration office's account i paid to. See how Nigeria chop my money |

Whistlebowing is ethical and yes, he didn't do anything wrong. BUT, he "wronged" one of the biggest schools in the US by snitching on them - a school where most of its graduate get jobs by recommendation and referrals. That is where his problem lies; so, instead of getting recommended he'll be left high and dry, because of the bad PR he's given the school. Instead of applauding him, they'll punish him by making sure he never gets the type of job he wants or even one befitting his academic qualification, he'll then have to settle for the "crumbs". sillysassysally: Interesting... It speaks to the dangers of a single story - as Chimamanda would say. However, it still stands true that job hunting in the US isn't beans.
With that said, I'm finding it hard to see the wrong thing in what he did that'll make recruiters avoid hiring him. Whistleblowing is ethical and many companies even encourage this. What do you think? |

Nna hapu that thing! It was God and God alone! Congrats bro. Austacus: Here’s my application Imm form (I included my bro that stays in Winnipeg...His home address and place of work in the imm form and his office role). Algonquin College Environmental management and assessment with a coop work permit I year program Pgd First-term tuition fee paid
Intl passport (no travel history) Statement of result (2:2) Transcript Date of birth certificate LOE Letterhead letter from my dad’s business. I told him to write I am “assisting in the family business” because I don’t have payslip or salary whatsoever as proof
Sponsor (father) CAC Sponsorship letter Account statements Fixed deposit Houses or Landed properties Marriage certificate (mom and dad) Family pics <me, mom, dad, godfather and godmother then one white oyinbo man (I was still a baby, we no get family pic for my pman house) PCC (Police character certificate) though it’s not mandatory for study visa please add it if you can.
My first application
The intellectual work started from the day I got my first Gcms notes
I ordered 3 Gcms notes.
The VO edit tire looking for every loophole to bring me down in my Gcms. My problem started with my sponsorship letter cause my dad made it straightforward. I didn’t know he has to state the amount he’s committing to my education. They even wanted to use work permit against me thinking I deliberately chose the course cause of the work requirement.
My dad fixed deposit put me in a big mess... dem no recognize that thing at all. I had to send my own account statement after my third Gcms note before I tackled first and second Gcms notes.
They also wanted to use travel history against me.
Last week I contacted about 150 MPs in Canada (I told myself even if nah one person answer me) About 15 responded back (with stories that you’re not a constituent in the riding blah blah blah) the MP is my school riding just do like person wey go help me, I fill a form and all, then after everything she withdraws from it with stories. Only 1 was helpful. He looked at my file and told me wassup. He told me what the VO wrote on my file with a biro. I don’t know how he did it though it took him two days to respond back to me. Nah there he stops to respond to me cause he said he can’t go deep on my file for privacy reasons. And he wishes me good luck. Such a nice man. Ahmed Hussein used one of the MP to get back to me. (Is response wasn’t helpful at all) Because the MP promised me that he going to talk to Ahmed Hussein on my behalf during their meeting... surprisingly this Ahmed Hussein tell the man he’s aware of my case that he got my message so so so date and time (they don’t joke with records) I can’t even remember the day I sent it to him but he was so accurate. He told his colleague (MP) stories to tell me. (normal immigration stories). The thing tire me. Then the MP wished me good luck.
Earlier this year I contacted an immigration lawyer in Canada (he said he can’t do anything until they refused my visa). They stored my names and all for records reason
They did a foss check on my brother in Winnipeg I would advise you guys not to mention your sibling or family member in Canada cause it can be used against you or slow your application
That's all I can say now. ( I did a lot of research in this Canada study visa) if I show you my PC and phone tabs, you will shake your head. Good luck to all the visa hopefuls.
Please to those that sent me a pm, I would be responding to only May, June and July buddies.
I also contacted one retired CIC VO in quora. He answered me but he's very very diplomatic. He didn't say anything that makes sense to me e tire me
Thanks to Oga frank I haven't finished reading all your post since I joined the thread last year June. Thanks to my name sake Austinpee I am still reading lol
Another tip, if your sponsor has too many dependants, please reduce it in your affidavits of supports. And be careful while listing all your siblings in your imm form in case you omitted their names in dependants (affidavits if means of support) especially if they are still under your parent.
Bless you |

This visa suffered me. The day I did my biometrics, VAC was still working till 8 pm that day, I left home around 7 and left VAC 7 pm. I was sleeping on steering... I almost had an accident that very day but God came through for me. So whenever I remember that day and imagine why my visa is still pending, tears will drop from my eyes and I will look up to God.
I contacted more than 150 MPs (senators) in Canada then on Wednesday I gathered mind and drive straight to Anifowoshe.
I was in the movies watching “Hotel Mumbai” as soon as they finished the movie, I saw the alert in my email address.
I will recommend you guys to watch that movie and thank me later.

So you're single? Hmmm Yes, that's all I got from that very informative post. einsteino: Occasionally, I am approached to give insights on life in Canada, Jobs and integration. I am not quite sure I am in a good position to answer as I have only been here for barely half a year, and then again I can't possibly know the prospects for every field and every person, so its hard for me to say anything specific to a wide population, and I am quite cautious making uninformed statements that could end up being the bedrock of someone's life decision. Nonetheless, I feel if I scribble some ramblings about what I think and have experienced, there maybe a thing or two to take from it. I have chosen to reply here to leverage on the possibility of people who may know better to peer-review and correct the errors in my thoughts.
Footnote: Canada is a leveler, so it is easy to to think we are all the same as immigrants from Nigeria and such we can extrapolate off anyone's case. This causes some people to erroneously tow a path because XX who is an immigrant from Nigeria just like them is doing it, without knowing jack about why it is okay for XX to and may not be okay for them. A good number of people here still have businesses, investments or spouses in naija that funds their living expense here, some came with fat savings, and some agbayas like me are still single, such category of persons have a large margin of error for their plans that you may not have. Point is while you get advice, try to also learn if its applicable to your situation, don't just jump in on everything said. We are all different, there are people who for the sake of their kids wouldn't mind anything Canada throws at them. On the other hand, some people by virtue of their psychological wiring wouldn't find fulfillment and happiness without their career. Know yourself and know what sacrifices makes sense for you and configure your plans accordingly, don't get bullied by what the majority thinks because at the end of the day your truth wouldn't subject itself to an election. |

Hello, From my knowledge, most schools want to make sure you have at least 75% in your last two years of study (last 60 credit hours of study), it is a prerequisite for a consideration for a master's admission. This 75% is 75% of 5.0 CGPA. So calculate the GPA of the last 2 years over 5.0. Also, you could use an online calculator for this. Good luck. iblion: please how do we convert our NIgerian CGPA to canadian CGPA, most schools ask for 3.o or 2.5 CGPA. urgent help guys. thanks |
