Nah the rape is irrelevant... if he had reported the other crime. The fact that he didnt want to report anything is the " strange" part here.

I would scream, like most people would... OLE!!!! THIEF!!! BARAWO!!!!!

Here is a simple clue: I believe that this story makes NO DAMN SENSE.... as even after all this brouhaha of jail, that man hasn't said a word to incriminate (or get hold of) the people who robbed/raped him. It actually seem like this person simply forgot about this rape AND robbery, just as he tried to forget about it when it "supposedly" happen. It makes NO DAMN SENSE imho.

Btw do you think being locked up for 2 weeks is worst than being raped and robbed?
No matter how much you capitalize, make bold and use your opinion to judge something you haven't seen up close, it will not make sense to you. You can try using your empathy. And if it doesn't exist, then you need to be less judgemental. And if you can't stop being judgy in sensitive matters, then you need to evaluate your humanity.
You used to be sensible in your other posts, but this stance you have on male rape is appalling. Rape isn't logic. When you accept that it will begin to make sense.
Bye Felicia.

It has nothing to do with rigidity, and all to do with what's RIGHT, however difficult it may be. This man obviously had all his sense to find his way home... but not to follow simple procedure to prosecute this "supposed" crime.
You make it seem like it's a lie simply because the man didn't follow the police procedure for reporting a rape. That is unnecessary rigidity in the face of something nobody can predict the reaction of the victim. You feel that it's a lie because he did not report the robbery. If he was raped he would be trying to hold himself together first. Not to go screaming that he was robbed.Have a heart and don't scream "ARRANT NONSENSE!" without showing empathy first. Face humanity first, then other scenarios. You don't have to burn yourself first before you believe that others get burned.

So you mean to say that man was right to walk home after being raped/robbed?!... and just forget about the atrocities that he has gone through?!
Rape isn't a logical thing to most of the victims. They are traumatized and cannot process what has happened to them. Some feel dirty and want to get clean afterwards so the first thing they do is to bath. Some kill themselves afterwards. You cannot decide for people how they will react to it. Some don't know the procedure for reporting a rape. Stop being so rigid. Not everyone was begging to be raped.

I agree with you but I hope you also apply this as the reason women who are raped don’t come forward.
Rape isn't a man or woman thing. In the end the victim, either man or woman, will go through the same thing. So yes, I can understand why a woman may hide a rape as much as a man will. Even if they come out years later, it doesn't rule out the fact that it happened.

ARRANT NONSENSE!!!!
Yes the Nigerian police force may be crazy but putting a traumatized and confused person in jail after he has reported a crime (with social media and phone call and text proof about how he was lured) ... you make no sense.

And again, assuming what madness the police " may" do, is irrelevant to the issue... as he could have simply be quiet about rape (in shame) and report the robbery AT LEAST
you're not a police officer, and you wouldn't believe the atrocities committed against innocent people, so you know nothing.

You shouldn't be.

It has been this way in Nigeria for years - only that women were almost exclusively the victims. That is beginning to change - or at least the reporting is beginning to change.

In our system, men habitually mock female rape victims with the same old tired excuses ("she was asking for it", "what was she looking for in his house", "why was her skirt knee length instead of ankle length" etc.). When in frustration, someone said men will only begin to take rape seriously when homosexual rape becomes widespread, she was scorned. But we are slowly getting there.

There are settlements, trailer and motor parks, markets etc. in this country where you are finished if you are male and you have car trouble or are lost after dark. lipsrsealed. Losing your material possessions such as phones and money will be the least of your problems. lipsrsealed

There are cultural or occultic beliefs (yes - in this country) which view homosexual rape as leading to some kind of spiritual transfer (whatever the hell that means undecided) of the 'luck' or 'destiny' of the victim to the rapist. Yes...in this country.

This is the hell we have created for ourselves and some on here are pretending not to see it.

We shall see.
It's appalling! This is not how humans should react to things! No sympathy for the man, even from men. It's like he was asking for it. Imagine when men's daily occupations can lead them to being raped and people think it's funny or fake.

Many men who it happens to are too shamed to come out and say that it happened. If this can be done to men who don't dress provocatively, imagine what women have gone through.

I'm surprised to learn there are such communities. Men are truly under attack and they're so focused on women and laughing at men that it happened to that they can't see it's a big problem that's coming up.

Dis is f same country where ppl are afraid to help dying persons in public becos of d police tagging dem suspects
I'm surprised at the callous response of men. This is why he didn't report it. He probably walked confused and traumatized to wherever he did. Some are asking why he didn't show the police his bleeding anus(can you imagine that?), so that they will lock him up for 14 years without provocation, or what?

Read the funny story earlier

Strange how this man is not taking any actions against the men who "supposedly" raped and robbed him.... because instead of walking home to Ajegunle, any normal person would have gone to the nearest police station (with their bleeding anus), to report this "supposed" robbery/rape.
He will be too ashamed, traumatized and emmasculated to report it. Don't judge him. People react to trauma differently.

This is one of the shortcomings of some Africa parents. they instill fear into their children, therefore, Children don't see them as friends that they can freely relate with. ... Since you are now married, Just boldly tell her. or tell her to accompany you to see a Gynecologist that you are feeling some how with your own body... after the fake checkup, just tell the doc that your mum is ageing and you want her to do general checkup... pls don't forget to meet the doc beforehand.
It has nothing to do with African parenting. All over the world nobody just jumps up to tell their parents such things, except the person has issues. It's a parent, not a sibling or friend!

Two sides to a coin. You see a saint that is good with their family, but that hasn't exonerated them from being bad in every other thing. Most musicians sing about their lives. It's that simple.

LOL.....my guy, so, you carry this your mentality reach here?

You don't use a rapper's lyrics to judge their person. T.I is a family man, a great father, a community leader and advocate, but some of his music lyrics portrat him as a gun-totting, drug addict and and an irresponsible father.

Nobody is as they seem, some of the worst people in the world are Bible-thumping 'Christians', Qu'ran tutors, and generally, religious fanatics. The ones that will punch you in the facex abuse you, and quote parts of their religious books to defend their heinous acts. The racist KKK are dedicated 'Christians' and they will quote the Bible to defend their hate.

So, judging people based on music lyrics or how they portray themselves in public, is a great folly.
Do you know TI personally?

Whatever comes out of you are your thoughts, so yes, it does represent him, like it or not. Klansmen are only showing you what is inside just as this rapper does. Isn't that why what goes in doesn't corrupt, but what comes out?

In all women should stop fighting for men. It makes them think they're so important. That is why they cheat with reckless abandon, because women treat them like some scarce commodity and are ready to do anything to win them. At least in Nigeria.

Good day fellow nairalanders, i will try to keep this as short as possible.

I have a sixteen years old brother that is still bed-wetting. Dad and Mom has done everything humanly possible, but all their efforts ends in futility.... So many methods have been devised to just help him but non worked.

Initially we thought it was because of late dinner, he was stopped from eating when it is after 7pm

There was a time that dad use to whip him, but he stopped when he realized he's not getting any better.

We have bought some medicines, but it is still the same story.

Currently everyone is tired and no one is talking about it anymore... my parents believes that when he gets to uni he will change after a single inglorious display of this act.. He is currently in ss3.

what baffles me is that, my bro doesn't show any sign of remorse. He is always unapologetic and doesn't really give a damn...

Please nairalanders, is there anything else we aren't doing...?
If he's not apologetic why are you more concerned that him? Leave him be. He will get the solution by himself.

Lmao.

All I see here is an unmarried, childless 35+ year old woman consoling herself.

I'm yet to see a woman past her prime who is single and truly happy. Even the holy book says; "Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you."

Let's not get into the financial benefits women gain from marriage. Even to afford a flat on their own they cannot. In this Nigeria, most women cannot sustain themselves without the help of a man: husband, sugardaddy, boyfriend, whatever you wanna call it.

To fix their hair sef, they need a boyfriend - but you'll see them all over nairaland posting trash.

Sidenote: I would love if more women adopt the OP's ideology. If women reject marriage in its entirety, it will save men a GREAT chunk of our hard earned resources!
You have the misunderstanding that women depend on men for their resources. You need to change your circle of women. Or are you scared of the successful ones who don't need your resources?

you are not entirely right
But you know it's the truth if not that most men thrive on acting like they're so happy and women are so desperate, when the truth is that all men in Nigeria are looking for someone who will contribute to them and grow their dreams as if the woman has no dreams and ambitions for her own life. Who is helping build her dreams? Then you say women are leeches when you don't let them do their own thing just because they're in a relationship with you. You forced them to follow your dream and build you, otherwise they are not useful.when can she grow as a person if she's committed to your cause? This is a case of using women.
Any woman who can avoid that by staying on her own, and build her own dreams for herself will be much happier because the men appear to be grown babies/burdens.

This does not sound like a wise thing to do, how will she call the whole village on her husband based on an accusation that has not been verified.
And even if she eventually verifies it she does not have to expose her dirty laundry in the open, she has a marriage to keep nonetheless.

When tree falls on tree you remove the uppermost one first.

The first thing she needs to do is to use wisdom to establish if her husband is the one responsible or not.

Have you though about the damage your suggestion would make if her husband is been wrongly accused ?
Or do you think it is not possible that the husband may be wrongly accused ?

This is not the time to betray emotions , this is the time to use wisdom.
Your idea on the whole thing is bizarre. Is the marriage important after fornication? Why must she protect an already bastardized union? The things you say for women to do is unacceptable. Marriage isn't heaven and Earth. Get over it and stop concealing the evil that men do.

So she should keep quiet and allow rape/societal norms to decay because she has a marriage to protect? Do you even think of what you're advising? Wisdom? Wisdom?! I hope you have this same wisdom when it hits close.
