samfibby: Whoever is looking to suscribe to mtn hynet, make sure u make inquiry about coverage wherever it is going to be deployed. Some parts of lagos are not covered at the moment. I almost made the mistake of procuring for a customer whose location wasnt within mtn hynet coverage. Aside that the service is just fine and pretty reliable.

does it have an antenna port where u can connect an omni directional antenna of high gain 2 boost signal in non coverage areas

What is d technology behind mtn hynet(does it use 3g or wimax).I am still contemplating on what to use to power my cafe..i recently visited a friend of mine who has a cafe in a remote location.. he bought a 3g router and connected an external antenna (16dbi). The router ordinarily picks only edge but with the help of the antenna he was able 2 get 3 bars of g network..

I know mtn hynet offers unlimited download bt i heard they have specific coverage areas. i was wondering if an external antenna can be connected to it 2 boost signal

I find this interesting....i tot i was going IT crazy when i ventured into so many fields (to be informed)while trying 2 kip up with at least 2 of the growing fields/technologies...

when it comes to making a page have enhanced functionalities, javascript does it all. But we all know that a well designed page means an accessible page by all devices ranging from screen,media, hand held,tablets,and screen readers. Most users either have their devices turn of js feature while others doesn't support. Most seasoned web designers will agree with me that the present HTML 5 standards are not browser compatible except for hacks and this hacks are made possible with the use of js..Imagine a well designed site that makes use of js having broken links when viewed from other devices....

my question is this..How do we support non javascript users in this present age of building rich and enhanced pages....

with all this our yeye internet connection how person go enjoy him linux desktop na.. i only install programs from the software center. installing them manually na war of dependencies. i tried using virtual box (offline) to virtual my xp as a guest os while my linux ubuntu sits as the host. it worked fine after some dependency shit. i come install video lan player (offline also). na there kasala burst for my laptop scrin. virtual box nor come de open again..

how can one go through the hassles of dependency problem on linux in general.

During my days @ school, i had dis passion for electronics..but financial matters made me back off. i love d likes of building any kind of electronic gadgets,power inverts and lots more. But i still nurtured this passion silently not until i was brought into the IT world. I have lot of skills ranging from networking, hardware and software, currently on web design.... i started IT cos it was relatively cheap when it comes to learning on your own..

Now i am being offered on a platter of gold to learn electronic design from a guru. This guy even designs his own pcb designs and sells them. He asked me if i was interested or not. but i have not given him a reply yet.. what do i do.. seeing all the inverters, circuits and designs he made on his table just makes me feel happy like i use to back in the days.....

what do i do. is having 2much skills a problem in different field.

is yahclick good 4 a cybercafe of up 2 10 systems (thin client)... i had wanted to use mtn hynet but its not available. i intend using the router packages of airtel or glo. just dat i am afraid of d bandwith cap. vsat c band is very expensive. even ku band offered by some isp are very slow..

what do u advice. cos its the only tin holding me back.

I am still an average learner on networking

i am curious to find out if when there is no Internet access on a network due to privileges, how do i find out if there are other open network protocols, such as DNS, ICMP, UDP on the network so that i can forward/redirect my tcp/ip packets to an ubuntu server on the Internet where there is Internet access so that it routes the packet back to my pc via tcp/ip....is there a software that can actually look for open protocols for me...


someone told me that i can use vpn but i told him that the network am using is currently blocked from accessing the Internet access, but i believe other protocols might still be open..

I currently have a linux web hosting and will be grateful to experiment on it. dont mind getting dirty.

i was thinking about yah-click but dont know about their current pricing as i intend going for the 50GB plan. y allowing customers 2 download in d early hours of d day as this is excluded from d data plan. but the ka band is still a bone of contention. we all know the bad side of ka band (weather).

Is MTN hynet available in ikeja or generally what are the coverage areas in lagos..

please i would like to know if MTN hynet is available in Ikeja as i plan to open up a 10 system cybercafe...

y wont there by flood... i cant remember d last time there was maintenance on these dams of ours.... y not build more dams. even d existing ones rot like dead fishes. Government doesnt pay attention to environmental hazards... when last was river niger or any other river in Nigeria dredged. u give money to the same nigerians to clean up these rivers.. de embezzle d money and cut the grass on top of the river and they say they ve finished carrying out maintenance..


NEMEA has been on this for how long we dont know, telling the government to co-operate but they paid deaf ears.... tinking about looting more and creating unfriendly policies to the ordinary man..... i weep for my country...... i love this country.

am currently deploying a linux web server from scratch and wish to host a vpn service on it. can i use this vpn service for mtn bis.

i want to study core laptop repairs.. i am thinking of travelling abroad. but i hear indians are very good @ it. pls i nid ur advice and tips. i currently have ideas in networking (basic and advance) + web design/development (html,css, javascript n php)....

please i would like to know if having just one set of skill in the IT world is relevant or a waste of time.. before now i was into networking before i ventured into web design/development and i do little of programming (school project works with vb6)

i still run my networking stuffs when its available. but in the mean time i just finished learning html,xhtml and now am on css (hand coding and not WYSIWYG software) I hopefully plan on moving to development..

my passion for IT is just 2 strong.. i have all the time and can get access to materials in any branch of IT. Morealso,i learn fast...

I would appreciate any advice or suggestions from u guys....
