Christianity EtcRe: Good Friday: Is Abstaining From Meat Superstitous Or Biblical? by btoks: 8:15am On Apr 03, 2015
zicoraads:
Why wouldn't he want an answer to it? I am glad he asked because before now, I had absolutely no idea about this practice.

For some of us, if it's not biblical, I would certainly question the rationale behind it, then either do it, or not. But, I would never judge those who would.

Personally, I think Christianity shouldn't be about what the 'mother church' says, or what 'my pastor/bishop' says. Each and every one of us has access to the bible and to God. Yes, the church is very important but I don't see it as the ultimate.

I ask God questions, so who is the church?
The issue with personal opinions about christianity is that we end up with different even conflicting doctrines and practices.
Within the bible,we find that the church is the bulwark & pillar of truth(1Tim3:15),this is why Catholics follow the church's teachings to ensure right guidance and uniformity.

Most Londoners are hustlers apology to those professionals among them. 98% of Nigerians living in UK are as poor as church rat. These guys do all sort of jobs to earn a living, menial jobs like cleaning in hospital, carer taking care of elderly people in care home, security and mall guards, baby sitters, kitchen and hospital porters to mention few. These are the able youths that we need in Nigeria to cluster our work force for overall development of our society alas out of bad PDP party leadership they jetted abroad without even having a reasonable motive of why they have to embark on such journey of no return. Those of us that travel a lot can testified an eye sore liability our boys have become to western society. I cry deeply for this country.
Obviously, people will migrate if they feel things are better elsewhere. However.I think you'll find that there are still loads of people in Nigeria that could do the same jobs you listed within Nigeria. They are jobs after all.
Re. 98% of nigerians in London being poor as church rats,I understand your sentiment but your stats are probably off.most people just get by I think and are not as much a liability as you posed.
The focus should really be on those in Nigeria and how to stop them jetting off to other climes. I must say that it is now very difficult for nigerians to jet off anywhere. Sad.

I hope Mr. Reno Omokri will take this up.

It is time Nigeria took a cue from the likes of the USA that make the protection of lives and dignity of their citizens an utmost priority.

Believe me, thes little things count in judging responsible leaders.

I condole with the bereaved family.
Agreed, security and protection of lives should be the govt's number 1 priority. Nothing else really matters without it.
What a shame the state of our country.! Sympathies with the girl's family.

It'll be great if you let us know why you read the New Testament.

It is nt all abt cautioning our drivers. It is all abt God being on our side.Dude we hv to be prayerful.
God is on our side, this is why he created us and I'm certain that we not short of prayers in Nigeria. As important as prayers are, when one relies only on prayers then you get ghastly accidents like that.
We need to look at other countries, they pray but also create and maintain good roads, have working regulatory frameworks to ensure roadworthy vehicles, legal drivers and safe driving.
Our over- reliance on prayers without doing the necessary work is the bane of our nation. The sooner we do the work the fewer these incidents will become.
God loves us.

What I know is that he will pay taxes on all his assets within and outside of the UK, even his assets in Nigeria will be taxed. That's US and UK policy, and that's why I rejected US citizenship.
I do know there are complex sporting/endorsement laws in UK and their taxman might want a cut of some of his endorsements in or out of UK. Their arguement being he gets his popularity in UK.this is regardless of citizenship.
US laws are different I believe.

I hope he understands the implications and the Tax Burden associated with getting that passport. It is not a thing of joy, but of sober reflection.
As he's based in UK there will be no difference in the way he's taxed,UK citizen or not.
Having said that,at least one can see the benefits of their tax system- it's used to develop the country.

Christianity EtcRe: Reasons Why Christmas Is Not Worth Celebrating By Genuine Christians by btoks: 2:07pm On Dec 27, 2014
Celebrating the day Christ was born has also been part of this preservation.
In every walk of life, notable dates are celebrated in order to help propagate whatever core message there is . Christianity is no different.
Christianity EtcRe: Reasons Why Christmas Is Not Worth Celebrating By Genuine Christians by btoks: 11:18am On Dec 27, 2014
How exactly do you think christianity has been preserved all these centuries? It's amazing how you come in 2000 years later to ask christians not to celebrate Christmas. If you don't want to celebrate it,then don't.
Early Christianity was liturgical like it is today.
I'm sure you celebrate the fact that Jesus Christ is God,there are some groups today who will tell you this is wrong. Try to focus on the reason why Christmas is celebrated. Just so you know Easter is also celebrated and is the most important celebration
PoliticsRe: Photo: See The Crowd Of Thousands That Scrambled For Tinubu’s Christmas Gifts by btoks: 10:57am On Dec 22, 2014
Nigerians shouldn't be queuing up to receive free bags of rice from politicians like refugees.it is a sad state of affairs that people have the time for this. I'd rather the masses were shown how to spend their time building a longer term future for themselves.as much as it's a good gesture from Tinubu.

Go to ur bible and chk out d fruit of the spirit...lol

And also thhere isn't anytn like co-redeemer anywher in my bible...hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahaha

Me? Misinformed? Can the holy spirit lie?

I read my bible and get fresh revelation my friend I don't read bulletin, and follow man made dogma...thank u.

Also I would be very greatful if u cn clearly point out me where it Wass stated dt mary is a co redeemer..

If being a co redeemer is by participation whhat about Joseph dt play d "earthly" father? Wt about john the baptist? Wt abt the owner of the menger and the women that probably helped mary wen she was in labour?......hhahahahahahahahahahah

You go and confesss to ur priest when u sin on Saturdays, what about when your priest sins... what about when ur pope sins..who does he confess to??

I have a million unbiblical practise that I can point out to u.. but ur surname isn't catholic church so I wuldnt, unless u tell me u re capable
I'll like to point out that popes and Priests are sinners like you and I.They confess to other priests regularly. Jesus bestowed the holy order gifts regardless of the priests personal sins, you only need to look back at Peter.
It'll good if you raise these so called unbiblical practises . you'll find that all your misconceptions have been addressed on this site or elsewhere.
BTW, Mary as co redeemer is not officially defined as dogma in the church, however @Ubenedictus has explained its use.
Christianity EtcRe: Should Catholic Tradition Have Equal Or Greater Authority Than The Bible? by btoks: 2:29am On Dec 19, 2014
To illustrate, you snatch the bible from it's sacred traditional context and you end up with x thousand opposing doctrines.
One example, @olaadegbu believes that drinking alcohol is sinful while his font of knowledge - gotquestions.org states the exact opposite with both using sola scriptura. Who is right in this case?
Bigger examples are opposing doctrines on the Trinity, holy eucharist, sabbath,Tithes, infant baptism, female clergy etc.
How does one know the correct doctrine/interpretation without recourse to the sacred traditional context.
Back to your question, sacred tradition and scriptures (both word of God)are equally valid as the source of authority plus a third source, the teaching authority of the church.None of these are contradictory.
Christianity EtcRe: OPINION: Mary Is The Mother Of God by btoks: 9:46am On Dec 18, 2014
This issue was addressed over 1500years ago at the council of Ephesus, accepted by the only church at the time. Mary is the Mother of Jesus who is God.She is the Theotokus.Shikena !!
Please see wiki link http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_of_Ephesus.
For the doubters, this dogma was defined to clarify the nature of Jesus more than anything else due to heresies at the time.
CrimeRe: What Is Wrong With Our Police? by btoks: 7:53pm On Dec 16, 2014
Sorry OP to learn about your ordeal. I had a similar experience with Nigerian police a few years ago . It's unfortunate that they feel they have to intimidate and assault people to maintain law and order.
This is where we need the NASS to intervene and promulgate laws that outlaw this nonsense. Nigerians' lives are just as valuable as those in the west and should be treated as such

how will that TV assist the reduction of the price of Garri in the market.....lol
one simple way would be by being able to reach more people and spreading the values of honesty in all we do.this will in turn mean that fewer traders are likely to cheat their customers thus ensuring a fare price for garri.obviously cost of goods is controlled by many factors but people being honest certainly helps.
overall,a good development to launch the TV station.
