HIEROGLYPHICS
Hieroglyphics, a system of writing in Ancient Egypt, was invented around the same time the Sumerians invented cuneiform. This was around 3500 BCE Some historians believe that the Egyptians were influenced by cuneiform, but some evidence suggests that the hieroglyphics writing was developed earlier than cuneiform. Egyptians believe that this writing form was given to them by the Egyptian god, Thoth. They called this form ‘mdju netjer’which means ‘words of the gods.’

I will only pay you what is due to you in lieu of notice. There are a plethora of cases around that principle sir.

So yes paying a month for every year of service doesn't preclude me from serving you that letter communicating my intention. It also does not mandate me to keep you in my employment against my will. My point is, an employer reserves a right to untie that bond subject to paying minimal amounts as may be agreed either in the terms of employment or as may be foisted by the labour laws but nothing more.
You do indeed have the right to termimate my employment when I am no more of use to you.

Please give me notice, as you would expect me to when I terminate my service to you, or pay me in lieu.

No, mrs woman. Do not blame your inability to understand on others! It is unhealthy!

CAPSLOCKED:
ANGER, INSECURITY, ENVY..
THESE ARE CAUSED BY LACK OF HEALTH?
Yes caps. Anger, insecurity, envy, etc, are all caused by lack of health.

Do you agree that, "Ill health" means, unhealthy, as in, that which is not in a desired state, such that a broken leg is unhealthy and a poor person is financially unhealthy, and a dirty one is hygenically unhealthy, and the stupid one has an unhealthy brain?

If so, an angry person is not calm and is likely not thoughtful and may be irrational. The cause and consequence of their anger is the lack of health in the calm department. An angry person is an unhealthy person.

An insecure person lacks security and is likely fearful and afraid. Their lack of health in the security department is the consequence and cause of their anger. An insecure person is unhealthy.

An envious person is not content. They want what others have but lack the drive to work for it so they wish evil on others instead of working for their own good. Lazy fuqs, basically, who lack health in the ability department are bitter and unable.

An etc is an etc is an et..., do you get the drift, caps?

In this thread, the thread starter is seeing the errors of his ways and making a public statement of the intention to change. I see a person who is healthy in the reflective deparment, one who learns from the past and makes a conscious commitment to develop and grow and evolve. And personally, I have found that particular department to be a very important department in the development of conscious beings, that without it, all else is in vain.

Op, you are most blessed because you opened your eyes and saw yourself and now your cup fills and runneth over. For that is your impact on me as I was up all night reflecting.

Funny you. You actually could. If the employee believes it is not properly done, let them sue. However note that there is no law that can force a willing employee on an unwilling employer. At best they can get paid damages and even at that, it will only happen if the legal department of the employer is not strong or the HR function did not carry them along.

Simple. if you need to sack anyone just say, your services are no longer required. Provide no reason or explanation. There is no law against that language, tested and proven.
I do think there is a bit more of a process than this. After all, if the contract you gave me did say "no reason or explanation", I might have taken my expertise to your competitor. And we are many seeking damages. And it's these sort of cases that have formed our labour law, which currently is not generous enough since its missing:

⬛ One month for every year of service over five years.

We are not judging. She asked for advice and we gave it.

And here is a list of some "certain traits one might want to do away with":

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Galatians 5:19-26 King James Version

You remind me of

If by Rudyard Kipling - 1865-1936

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on”;

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings—nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run—
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

Someone emailed asking why I would do so much work for one loaf of bread they would finish in one go and I've decided to respond here.

Below is supper, and lunch, and breakfast, apart from a cup of coffee in the morning. The slice is 5mm and the baked bins was a third of a can.

It's a corona diet. With lots of seeds.

Reasonably certain that almost ALL Nigerian banks will use this Covid crisis to rationalize...
Fintech has rendered a lot of physical branch banking irrelevant, and the enforced lockdown merely reinforced that.

Why not look into reduced hours or a cut in salaries as Wigwe has done.. Or better still declare no dividend in the forthcoming year.. Everyone can see the current circumstances are unprecedented and unpredictable.
So, they should "declare no dividend" so investor me gets less profit?

Is that because I invest my money for your benefit or because I caused the "current circumstances are unprecedented and unpredictable"?

Or maybe its because you are my pickin and I should concern myself with your sorry ass that the "current circumstances" that are "unprecedented and unpredictable" are chewing up? Do tell. Why?

Funny thing is, they will eventually "declare no dividends". As you yourself said, "current circumstances are unprecedented and unpredictable", lol! Still, you must seriously get it inside your head that you are not owed; for "it is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, or investor that you should expect your dinner, but from their regard to their own interest", as in, your usefulness to us!

The fact that it's taking a people who were sold off as slaves in the millions by those they once bowed to so long to learn this seriously confounds and worries me.

Disclosure: I have no positions in any investments mentioned.
I have no plans to initiate any positions within the next 72 hours

I'm amused that long term thinking China is underestimated. Seems people still think of war as being fought on a battle field with conventional weapons so they fail to see all the other war fronts that might exist.

It sure is not by default that China buys US debt.
