@Muttleylaff and budaatum,

Quarrels and misunderstandings are bound to happen but nothing stops you guys from settling things amicably.
The irony is that it takes you to say this, 39.

Unfortunately, its not a thing that will happen anytime soon as I'd have to wait for him to grow out of his toddlerism which is bound to take a while. Note my first comment to him on this thread then see as things went south.

So, you were a fake prophet too until the other month, and now think you've engaged your brain?

Things escalated quickly between you and muttleylaff.
I try so much to avoid his juvenility but he has this need to go about first explaining to people what I've already said and then letting his stupidity kick in. See how you and I can sit on complete opposite sides of a fence and be civil, while he agrees and is an ass! Just goes to show James was right, devils believe and tremble.

Accept my apology for derailing your thread, 39. I'll try harder to ignore him whenever he refuses to use his brain.

Few months ago, i created a thread on front page on how i have lost interest in school and education because of my poor academic performance

https://www.nairaland.com/5253585/help....i-lost-interest-school-pls

Today i just found out that i failed two of my final year papers, thus giving me an extra year, i didn't know at first but as my mom kept pestering me to apply for law school, i had to check the list my school forwarded to Abuja, Garki, for those eligible to apply for law school, and discovered my name was not included.

I was discombobulated because i already made good the due process involved in the application prior to this day, i was advised by colleagues to check my result and lo and behold i failed 2 courses in my second semester yr 5.

I have failed my parents, especially my mom who invested a lot in my schooling, i might not be able to go back to the school for the extra year, i don't even know how to tell my parents, or what to do next, if i had known i would never have attended the uni, rather would have learnt a skill or focused on freelancing but i guess its all too late now.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Many Nigerians Are Underemployed! by budaatum: 8:04pm On Oct 27, 2019
Who told you employers don't pay anything less than ₦50k, and if they do, you ain't working yet?

You'd note that slaves get paid a whole heap less and definitely work lots more for it! Only monkeys get paid peanuts so why blame the payer and not the paid?

Truth is, government pays 30k, but most of their employees ain't doing no work and a private employer paying 50k will most definitely make you work for it.

If you are worth more somebody will pay you for it, which is why some get paid a whole lot more, because, as they say, you're worth it.

It's ironic that an ex-christian atheist knows the bible much better than a believer.
What is ironic is that you think knowing the Bible better is about emulating satan and believing, 39. Or did you completely miss what James said about devils and believing? It's in the bit I posted.

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

You may read here about unbelieving buda. I see no merit in trembling like devils!

At this moment, I wouldn't mind if your beans were my beans if only you would give me some of that.
.. Just kidding grin
If you can not understand small things, 39, I can hardly expect you to understand things that require more effort I suppose, but since you ask me to give you some of my pizza I am here offering you my beans too even though your response is "buda you have no bucket, and the well is deep. Where do you get that pizza from?"

Martinez39:
No no no. The book of James was written to believers. Read the first five verses of James. Mocking someone in a letter doesn't mean that you aren't writing to them. How you can think like this shows your beans wasn't well cooked.
Five verses is probably way too much for you 39. Just the first verse should do.

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,

To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:

Greetings.

You must wonder how we Nigerians are reading what was addressed to the twelve tribes, but perhaps consider that James was writing to those who read and understand James. He was after all not writing for those who are not "keyed in" to understand.

On prayer. You must have heard it said that it means calling on the Lord who is in heaven, yet Christ said, "when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

He then went on to teach how to pray, which you may read here and takes all of two minutes if you prayed it very very slowly, which should make you wonder what we do in secret and for which the Father will reward you, 39?

Well, we study the Word. And the reward for our studying in secret is understanding, and the wisdom that comes from that understanding, which is my beans and my pizza and which I gladly share with you 39. Can you not see how jealous that makes muttley? I can assure you that he believes!

The only meaningful one is actually the one that will order CBN to write 1₦ = $1, though the one's about exporting stand a chance if we can find a country that will take Nigerian people, though that might involve bringing back slave trade!

Increase your productivity rate at home so we actually produce what we consume is the way to go. Once we have enough to consume we can export the rest and our exchange rate will improve, but it will take us more that four years to do it.

Just check out China's 14th 5 year Development Plan and you might have an idea. And note that 14 times 5 = 70 years. As in one plan every five years over the past 70 years, and we now know how far they have come!

So, correcting your misconception of you ignorantly belittling my pizza is "show off"? Now see you competing as if 39s thread is "who's pizza is better" despite the fact that you yourself claim your own pizza was poison!

I'm dealing here with a person who suffers like you do and suggest you learn from a thread of one who wisely owns up he has problems.

So I strongly suggest you fix your own insides instead of focusing on their outsides or you'd find yourself at the babalawos buying juju to ruin your friends instead of mending yourself!

Not true 39! Not true of the Bible and definitely not true of James who mocked believers for trembling like satan and prefered the labour of your hands to your stupid ignorant worthless faith!

James 2:14-26 King James Version (KJV)

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Christianity Etc › Re: Is Christianity A Western Religion? by budaatum:
I think you'd need to read some Greek Philosophy to fully understand the Western aspect of Christianity. Just Plato and Aristotle would explain quite a lot of Christian doctrine and why God so loved the world that he sent an only begotten Son. If he hadn't, all that Greek understanding might have remained in Greece, while Egypt is a lot of pre-Moses.

That's not to say Christianity is Western, however. Just that it was mostly developed by the more inquisitive West.

Whether or not being a Christian is a prerequisite for keying into that verse, we know that, at least, it was written to Christians and that verse exists.
If that verse "was written to Christians", why are you reading it? Are you a Christian now 39?

If "being a Christian is a prerequisite for keying into that verse" 39, why do you, a non-Christian, think you can key into that verse?

Martinez39:
How did you come about this interpretation if not self deceit? Are Muslims, Atheists, Traditionalists, Buddhists and Hindus elders of the church?
You calling me "deceitful" 39? At least its milder than what you've called me in the past I suppose, but I would say it is self deceit to you 39. Remember, my beans is not your beans so I do not expect you to understand how the "Muslims, Atheists, Traditionalists, Buddhists and Hindus" doctors and wonderful caring people who healed me were all elders of my church as spoken about in James 5:14-15.

Martinez39:
Services of modern medicine are not the oil that is being talked about. We can agree to disagree. I wonder how you will interprete many various unction in the bible. grin
Beans, 39! "Services of modern medicine are not the oil" to you!

Martinez39:
What bearing does this have on verses that dish out a concise and clear way to tackle illness?
What bearing does "seek first the knowledge of God and righteousness and understanding and wisdom and all other things will be added unto you", dish out a concise and clear way to tackle illness?

I explained it to you in my initial response 39, but going by your response to mine you obviously lack the "prerequisite for keying" in, as you have clearly shown and would insist your own beans is everyone's beans, as you usually do!

Every bearing, some would say. I lost 30kg from my top weight of 82kg and was very close to deaths door so it even was a concise and clear way to tackle even death!

For anyone wondering how my beans is not 39's beans, please see here and here and here.
