I think the error in this discuss is in thinking Christianity and Christians are the same thing when they obviously aren't.
Christians practise Christianity. But its an error to assume they could perfectly practise it when all the evidence shows how drastically we fail on the most fundamental tenet of Christianity which is "Love thy neighbours and your enemies even more".
I'm trusting you atheists to therefore do what you do best and consider the evidence instead of blaming Christianity for the paranoia of some Christians because there are many who would claim the opposite, that Christianity cured them of paranoia. |

Shepherd00: Mr bros, the tree of knowledge of good and evil symbolizes the belief that Intelligence, knowledge and Wisdom comes from ourselves. When Man begins to see himself as the originator of his Wisdom and knowledge, he won't have any need to depend on God. He becomes God.
That's what satan meant when he told them, "Your eyes shall be opened and you shall be like God".
Meaning, you shall no longer need God for you wld become God looking inward instead of outward. Depending on the wisdom claiming it's yours. Telling yourself that all you achieved is by your power. Taking the glory for yourself. Praising yourself for all you do. Probably even telling yourself that you gave yourself life and health.
Be Careful of any philosophy which tells you to look inward. believe in yourself. Believe in your abilities. That's is the devil telling you exactly what he told Eve. Was Christ too doing devil when he asked if you know not you are gods? |

Hakeymco: Just say your opinion without hurting others belief. Have ever thought about this
'A'isha reported Allah's Messenger ( ﷺ ) as saying: Every one of the children of Adam has been created with three hundred and sixty joints ( ﻣَﻔْﺼِﻞٍ , mafsilin ); so he who declares the Glory of Allah, praises Allah, declares Allah to be One, Glorifies Allah, and seeks forgiveness from Allah, and removes stone, or thorn, or bone from people's path, and enjoins what is good and forbids from evil, to the number of those three hundred and sixty joints (or bones?) (ﺍﻟﺴُّﻼَﻣَﻰ , as-sulaama), will walk that day having saved himself from the Fire. Abu Taubah said: "Perhaps he said: 'Will reach the evening.'" Sahih Muslim 5:2199 Narrated Abu Buraydah: I heard the Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) say: A human being has three hundred and sixty joints (ﻣَﻔْﺼِﻼً , mafsilan) for each of which he must give alms. The people asked him: Who is capable of doing this ? He replied: It may be mucus in the mosque which you bury, and something which you remove from the road; but if you do not find such, two rak'ahs in the forenoon will be sufficient for you. Sunan Abu Dawud 42:5222 (Sahih) The meaning of the above is not so much about the number of bones in the human body as op seemed to make us focus on, but similar to "seventy times seven" except in this case, 'help', and 'assist one another' is meant, the number of bones in the human body being the number of people one must help daily.

Many of the things that spiritually immature Christians fear are real, but they ought not to be feared by those who believe in Jesus Christ, since they are under His Protection. However, those who do not believe are at risk of some of those things and of the Second Death, which itself is infinitely worse than them. So, they would be right to be afraid, if they were. shadeyinka: No one can Empirically prove the Source. For Even the Physical laws of nature breaks down at the big bang. By the current rules of science, Change normally is initiated by either an unstable equilibrium or an external force.
For those who see science as a final authority, it is good to show how the current science lead to the possibility of the SOURCE! Their is one problem, which is that both sides claim their own 'science' (way of seeing and looking at things) is an authority. "in the beginning" was written by humans who existed when it was written, and either way you look at it long before they came into existence. They used their senses to observe what they saw and wrote about it according to their understanding at the time. We are not in the beginning no more but we too write our own big bang as an understanding of what we perceive now with our senses. And the mere fact we use telescopes is an indication of how far we've come. The problem is "believing". It blinds the understanding and the learning acquired through understanding the supreme powers of the Word. Believers are like those who have heard there is treasure in a field but ask another to have faith and purchase it so they can share the reward with them. Oh, poor people of this world. |

Those "fulfilling Bible prophecy" endtimes must have started coming when Christ said “My Mother and My brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.” OLAADEGBU: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy" (2 Timothy 3:1-2).
This is just fulfilling Bible prophecy. The earlier you catch on the better you will know that liberal policies implemented in the public education system is to take your authority away from your children by teaching them liberal ideologies that are antithetical to the Bible. |

One is not worshipping God if one does not study and learn (which is work) to perfect oneself (through work) to bring forth fruits (the product of work) that are holy, as in, pleasing to the Lord God Almighty. A result of doing no work is shown below. The lazy assume to be the judge of others but judge not the forest in their own eye. solite3: yes Jesus death on the cross has made christians righteous before God. A righteousness you can never get by good works, God gave us as free gift.
Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
You going to end up in hell with this your filty rag you call good works.
The difference is that for us christians God gave us his own righteousness and took away our sins nailing it to the cross and he is at work in us to produce good works. The good works you see in us is the product of redemption not the cause of it. |

shadeyinka: Let's forget the name (God: as a noun) and ask the logical/Scientific questions: 1. Is there a real possibility of a non-material SOURCE for the universe? If there was a source or not, we can not know since it happened way long before we came into existence and became able to write down what we thought at the time. But those who have studied the evolution of human thought would know that everything we come up with is a myth; no one heard a big bang or God say "Let there be", and thankfully, that is not the concern of God but the concern of 'believers', both the theist type and the "unbelievers", while those in Christ are off doing His Will. |

blueAgent: What do you define as paganism?
Is Science a myth? You might have noticed, I repeat, that I have been parenthesing 'paganism' all along. That's because it is a sentimental word, one defined by it's users. Paganism was originally a pejorative and derogatory term for polytheism, implying its inferiority. Paganism has broadly connoted the "religion of the peasantry". During and after the Middle Ages, the term paganism was applied to any unfamiliar religion, and the term presumed a belief in false god(s). Most modern pagan religions existing today (Modern or Neopaganism) express a world view that is pantheistic, polytheistic or animistic; but some are monotheistic. As you can see, the definition of paganism is so broad that one can be called a pagan by some just by visiting a medical doctor. Science is simply the use of the senses. |
