Actually, HacheNoire and I are not arguing at all, since HacheNoire is the one that doesn't seem to know anything about consumer debt and household debt, and I try not to argue with those who know not of what they talk about.

Saying that though, I have already made an error in this thread, and wouldn't be surprised if others do too. So, and on that note:

Consumer debt refers to the outstanding balance of non-mortgage loans and credit utilized by individuals for personal, household, or family expenses, such as credit cards, auto loans, and student loans.

Household debt refers to the total outstanding money owed by individuals in a household to financial institutions, including mortgages, credit cards, student loans, and personal loans. It represents the combined financial liabilities of all adults in a home, often categorized into secured property debt and unsecured consumer credit.

The difference is subtle, but if you read my posts you'd note how the difference makes Switzerland the country with the highest household debt. Switzerland isn't necessarily the country with the highest consumer debt however, note.

Perhaps Governor Adeleke should just change the law, because I don't see why a state should deprive itself of the knowledge a person may have acquired in their working life just because they are 60 years old.

He can after all make this person a minister of civil service at any age.

I did know this. Imam Khomeini decisively rejected the notion that religion was incompatible with modern governance.

Despite him cloaking words in clothes they are not wearing, the above is saying, using your own brain is incompatible with just accepting what you are told to believe.

He is going much further of course, by ordering that leaders should be obeyed, implying the leaders' brain use is inspired by their God and yours isn't.

Oddly, it is Biblical too, which I'll explain below, though note that the Bible also has the contradiction written in it that the Holy Spirit will be sent to others too than just the supposed leaders.

Adam was told to not even consider having a brain not to talk of using it, because on the day that he does he will surely die. I am so pleased that many Iranians themselves are ignoring these Ayatollahs, and are plucking knowledge fruits to eat so they can free themselves from their allegorical Eden!

It doesn't happen for other countries with strong sense of culture. There's something wrong with us over here that makes that the case when we get to the UK .

I'd actually argue that you are very wrong in this your strong culture thing, though its true that we don't have a strong culture that oppresses women and chops off their heads if they don't submit to men.

What's actually happened to us is we have become educated and more enlightened, so women can not be so easily exploited like those "Arabs, Indians, even for other African countries" might be exploiting there's.

Even UK exploited their women till education set their women free.

Sorry, but this is not true. My husband and I are equal heads in my family, and he is intelligent and smart enough to know and respect that fact, as am I.

He does not make family decisions without consulting me, and neither do I make family decisions without consulting him. We even consult our children too, out of respect for them, and because we want them to learn to do the same when they get their own families.

But do know that there is absolutely no reason why you must do what I do in my family, because it is not compulsory that you have the same goals that I have for my family.

There are societal laws to protect everyone including women, but in the home, everyone should be protected within the context of a family, not only women. Nobody is a slave within the family, everyone has roles and duties within the family. It's never slavery but responsibility and care.

This proposed law is not for the protection of women only Peter. It applies to women too who can no more use lack of sexual relations as an argument in fault-based divorce.

As for rolls and duties in a family, that is for each family to determine, though I don't suppose they can change the fact that the man can not be the pregnant one. But everything else is negotiable, including who pays the rent and puts the food on the family table.

I don't agree that we live in a world where a person can just wake up one morning and suddenly become an unhappy partner who lies that you räped them and the law will just accept you did without any evidence.

And if you do happen to have such a partner who is unhappy, then sex with that person should be the last thing on your mind, and rǎping her definitely shouldn't be on your mind.

Sex between a loving couple, you don't seem to understand, is an extension of communication, where you express your love for and to each other. So, if your partner is unhappy, perhaps first communicate verbally to resolve the happiness, because the love making is much better when you are both happy with one another.
