What a very smart girl with very supportive parents. If more Nigerians hold institutions to account like this they'd soon learn to obey the law! |

Madmohamed1:The hope for Nigeria is that we Nigerians stop hoping and wailing but get off our asses and make Nigeria the nation we NigerIans work for instead of expecting some messiah to fall down from heaven and build our nation for us! https://www.nairaland.com/6697045/cooking-gas-tax-nigerians-pay/8#104747215

Nigerians should have learnt by now that no amount of believing would enable them to say "And there is Light", unless they understand what it is that must be done so that Light is. When you build up your faith by reading and learning, you stop believing and begin to understand how to say "Let there be Light", and then are all things possible for you.

Collinsanele:Me, buda, is the government! Those ruling today were elected from amongst myself by myself either directly by my voting for myself, or by me sitting on my ass doing absolutely nothing so those who now rule were elected. All those horrible nasty things you mentioned - "some killer fulani herdsmen that are kidnapping, killing and maiming people", "obvious violation of human rights", etc, are also all being done by my very Nigerian self! If I were not been stupid and very ignorant I would not be doing those nasty things to myself, and if I had opened my eyes and very carefully scrutinised those who put themselves forward from amongst myself to be elected to rule me I might have chosen different rulers who would ensure I do not stupidly do myself. But useless me sat on my ass expecting government to be my messiah and save me from myself and now me myself is wailing from burning in the hell I stupidly ignorantly created for myself! Thankfully, na democracy we de now, where I get to have 4 years to learn the stupidity and errors of my choice and correct them. Lord please open my eyes so that I do not stupidly do myself again at the next election so that I can make Nigeria great and have nothing to wail about instead of ignorantly sitting on my ass wailing for all I desire to fall from heaven like manna. Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim Aleluya Jesus Christ Amen! I hope the above is "factual and tell ourselves the truth without attaching any sentiment whatsoever" enough for you. Join the Nairaland Democratic Party and be the difference you want to see!

I have the feeling that the Quran would say "use your brain" if it spoke. Fortunately you have to use your brain when you read the Quran too so you'll have practised using your brain. |

FAST FACTS There are three stages of HIV infection. The symptoms vary in type and severity from person-to-person. Stage 1 after initial infection can feel like flu – but not everyone will experience this. Stage 2 is when many people start to feel better and may last for 10 years or more. During this time a person may have no symptoms. Stage 3 is when a person’s immune system is very badly damaged and can no longer fight off serious infections and illnesses. The earlier a person is diagnosed with HIV and starts treatment, the better their health will be over time. Some people don’t get any symptoms during stages 1 and 2, and may not know they have the virus, but they can still pass on HIV. |
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum subspecies pallidum. The signs and symptoms of syphilis vary depending in which of the four stages it presents (primary, secondary, latent, and tertiary). The primary stage classically presents with a single chancre (a firm, painless, non-itchy skin ulceration usually between 1 cm and 2 cm in diameter) though there may be multiple sores. In secondary syphilis, a diffuse rash occurs, which frequently involves the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. There may also be sores in the mouth or vagina. In latent syphilis, which can last for years, there are few or no symptoms. In tertiary syphilis, there are gummas (soft, non-cancerous growths), neurological problems, or heart symptoms. Syphilis has been known as "the great imitator" as it may cause symptoms similar to many other diseases.

PrideofLincoln1:Are you now suggesting that even if some thumbprint in a bedroom, the voters are still responsible for the leaders they choose? Hopefully, Nigerians will start their responsibility having long before the primaries so the choice is not between Tinubu and Atiku! |
olola4:And why exactly should goverment "curtail the spread" when the people they'll be curtailing it from say: NwaNimo1: |
Sorry I cant advise you, but just in case you decide to go ahead, here's the potential. budaatum: |
Luke 9:43-50 Funny that most who read this bit of Luke don't mind being first. Almost every thread in the religious section seems to be about who has the bigger bestest God or who believes or understands more, myself included! A forest to watch in my own eyes I guess. And I wouldn't even bother at the number of times I've been told I'm not "one of us", though that I can't argue since I'm not "one of us" if believing is the qualifying criteria. Jesus must have read Plato's Allegory of the Cave. He after all did say one must not live by only one book, so it is to be expected, especially since Plato was taught in Egyptian schools where Jesus too grew up. People do tend to kill their enlighteners since they know not that they are being saved, it seems. |
Atheists are meant to disbelieve, but see here an atheist who believes their own crap when just opening their eyes and looking around would enable him see the truth. I can't read further than I've responded but I hope someone has made the effort to ask the op if all atheists think or believe or behave alike, or even like the op has here, because that ought to be sufficient to make him see how little he has reasoned here. As for my own credentials, please see here. |
HardMirror:One swan does not a summer make! |
HardMirror:You should consider changing the title of this thread to DISHONESTY OF Hardmirror. That would be much closer to the truth! |
HardMirror:You are very dishonest! The first few minutes of this video already challenged your ignorant portrayal of all Muslims around the world being the same, but you shamelessly claim all Muslims are the same all around the world! Are all Muslims boko haram where you live? Are there no Muslims in your family or your neighbourhood for you to see that not all Muslims go about killing others? I am very very dissapointed in you Hardmirror but not surprised, since you made the same claim against Christians, and in a thread where Christians clearly showed you that they don't all believe alike! Do know that I will post this where your peers will see it. That is the level of my disgust at your ignorance! To everyone else, please see below my response when this individual made the same ignorant claim about Christians! And know hard, I still immensely love you. budaatum: |
HardMirror:Really? So everyone who reads the Bible must believe the same thing even though we all have different abilities/capacities with which we understand what we read? Then you better tell me where God is so I can ask why the fuq there's a brain in my head if I am not expected to use it! budaatum: |
HardMirror:I think you meant "wasn't a Christian", and if so, don't mind them because its obvious you believed, which is Christianity. Now, if only you had understood instead. You wouldn't have been a Christian, but I think you'd have been better off, and I hope you'd now try understanding, because I think you'd like the teachings that it is written that Christ thought. You might even begin to appreciate the atheist Christ, because it's obvious he too did not believe what he was told to, but used his own eyes and mind just as he is written to have taught one should. |
Goodvibes007:And he is sometimes balanced when the evidence is unglaring, unlike some who believe in an alternative reality they make up in their heads. We Brits need to find something to complain about. Unfortunately for us, those Tories whom Labour me has never voted for are doing a fair enough job. |
Goodvibes007:Et tu Goodvibes? I thought I was the only one! |
dosht:Don't mind him. He wants to sell to a seller! ![]() |
proclinician:You are putting your cart before your horse. Its the people who do the accounting, and they account out of interest. And if I tax your ₦30k by say 50% (18% my ass!) I'm very certain you will order me to account for it, or would you not? I bet you'd even ask your employer to pay you more than the poxy ₦30k they currently pay you, because, in my own opinion, you do deserve to be paid more than slave wage, if you yourself are worth more that is. I'm thinking you should be worth at least ₦60k, though that's still very little and far beneath your worth. But if I tax you 50% of 60k, you'd still take home more than you currently do after tax, see? You seriously got to learn to fight for your rights instead of expecting to be given them out of the kindness of my heart!

Ovamboland:I did say,"likely not need", and can tell by your wise fruits, lol! Trust when I say, the darkness of ignorance shall never ever overcome till I breath my last breathe, and even then I intend to find a way to be heard from my grave. |
proclinician:There's your problem right there! Imagine you working for some state that pays you a mere ₦30k! And I bet its not even monthly since they can't afford it! Are you really worth only so little? Then look at the work you actually do for this ₦30k! In my own Orolu Local Government I see them everyday doing nothing except cutting ₦50 ticket on market day which is every 5 days, in the name of internal generated revenue! Now, imagine gas is produced in Nigeria. You'd need competent staff to suck it out the ground and they would not accept a poxy ₦30k! In fact, we currently hire such people from India. They work for like 3 months then get free flight home for a month then return to work, so you imagine how much they get paid. You'd need gas transporters. And by transport I mean from source to where it gets used, and in some houses in some countries, that's not in a cylinder but through pipes from where the gas is sucked into a big central reservoir then into your individual home like electricity is distributed and as water ought to be. Can you imagine how many workers that would take, and the wages that would need to be paid for such competence, plus the many servicing each home, and even how much more cheaper the gas itself would become? Government pays, rather, promises you ₦30k to keep you quiet! It's slave wage at best, and those who are not slaves would go seek employment where work is actually done and appreciated and paid for! |
CodeTemplar:If you're thinking of robbing peter to pay paul, I agree. So how about robbing peter and paul to bridge the gap by funding schools, healthcare, roads, police, removal of dead bodies from the street? After all both peter and paul would benefit from not having dead bodies stinking up their neighbourhood, and having educated healthy people around you is bound to increase the general harmony in your society, don't you think? The good thing is healthy educated people pay even more tax, so we might even be able to decrease peter's tax when paul pays a fare share. |
Ovamboland:There's lot's of hope, because it really takes just a few of us. We just need to organise. https://www.nairaland.com/6431743/nairaland-democratic-party |
Ovamboland:You are most highly appreciated! If I could, I'd pay you, but a wise person like you would likely not need me to. Thank you very much for your wisdom. |
benalvino3:With cases like the below, I guess you might be. If UK had similar figures we wouldn't bother much either, but it seems you don't know how vaccines work despite repeated educations for you on this very thread. Perhaps study polio to see how mass immunization is required to stop it spreading since vaccines don't exactly kill the disease but either reduce its spread or its impact. By the way, I do note the tiny shift in your attitude, and I commend it though very tiny it is. Your recognition of impact in different locations is even more commendable, because if the deaths reported in some of the worst infected places were reported in Port Harcourt, it would be difficult for you to deny what you see with your own eyes. I hope.

Youtuber, Israel Balogun, should crowdfund for money to sue the police for false imprisonment. That should teach them not to go above the law! Its called "rights". But you got to fight to have them. |
