I agree with you. it is problematic to maintain this standard for only women. And there in I agree with you: society is partial and discriminatory in judging the violation, the way they can be with whites and blacks. But that's not enough reason to say the standard isn't right or logically consistent. The point remains that they uphold/expect a standard of Muslim/Christian intersection; and being a non-virgin makes you non-classy. What you should be arguing now is "men who are non-virgins are ALSO non-classy". Yes, the virginity expectation has been used to oppress women but hell, everything has been used to oppress women - name change, shaving, dressing, education. From important things to non-important things. But we don't go about saying we want to scrap the obviously, generally accepted standards. What we go about saying is that women should not be worse off for breaking the rules and violating the standards of the society than men. They shouldn't be judged worse. Simple!
nurey: I normally pick my niece from school and when she sees me, she just start crying and all the teachers would be looking at me as if I am one pervert it always pain me but after 10mins she stop crying and I bribe her with playing with my Tab. I am a sweet carrying adult so inorder not to sleep I always have one form of sweet lying around in the car as time went on she adjusted to sweet bribe so now everytime she sees me, she runs and hugs me infact all children in class will start hugging me after hugging and I don't want her to cry I have to follow this her order I WANT TO BUY if you don't follow that nah cry will make you deaf. She has never bought anything worth more than #50 everyday so sometimes when I am late or early warranty us not to wait in school I don't bribe. I know as time goes on she will out grow the brib
Funbii: My younger ones wouldn't behave themselves, they won't stop pinching, squealing or shrieking unless I promise to give them money or buy them goodies... I make sure I "settle" them whenever we got visitor(s) so as to avoid embarrassment.
Last night one of them went to my mom to negotiate, like "if I get 100naira to make my bed, how much to set the table? What if I make my sister’s bed, do I get 200naira? Fine, u can take away 100naira for not brushing my teeth...."... seriously? I was astound
Most parents and child care providers have resorted to bribery, at least on occasion, to secure good behavior from a child. That's when an adult says, "If you behave in class and don't cause any disruption, then I'll take you for an ice cream afterward." So, is there anything wrong with bribing a child to secure good behavior?
Little Mafians you've got there.
You are doing a fantastic job of teaching them how to be extortionists.
Next they'll start demanding 'protection money' like grand-uncle Al Capone.
Right now, I think your younger ones need to be rewarded more often with a koboko, than anything else.
Flytefalls: I agree. A task that benefits your child is a skill/behavior that will in time prove itself worthy.
I am in agreement that rewarding good behavior should be tangible (at times) but why the need to attach significance always? I think it's fair that a child be able to challenge a parent who may be being unfair (it's so so important for a child to feels itself to be heard); I'd encourage that. But rewarding what I feel is for their own benefit, nah, not all the time. Plenty of hugs and kisses regardless,.
germainediva: I usually fantasize during sex(thinking of a guy I admire or a romance clip).......if I don't most times it will be difficult to cum.......is there anything wrong with that
You are very, very normal.
A great number of women fantasize too. And it can get really colourful for some.
You will like Nancy Friday's My Secret Garden. It's a collection of the fantasies of several different women. Was written in the 70s I think.
The thread objective is literally to establish a razzle-dazzle phantasmagoria thalidomide, that will vitiately pulverise & rigorously revolutionise & ravage the man made cosmetic superficially synthetic reverence, that is arbitrary ascribe to the women folks, into a pukuapuku kpotokian macadam oblivion.
Chinweblinkz: -Am a young girl in my late teens,6.5ft tall and light skinned. Although am not up to the 'great' twenty,i have had so many suitors but none of them fit my choice. Its either they are too tall, financially inbalanced or not even Literate to my taste.
jbdasilva: People have the right to believe whatever they want to. There is nobody in this world that would attain this level of success and fame, and remain the same. My life has changed and I am not going to tell you otherwise. I am not Iyanya of eight years ago; I am more exposed and have more fans. You can’t compare the pressure that was on me in 2008 to the pressure on me now. For me to even have this level of sanity, I believe it is God’s grace and people should pray and support me instead of saying I have changed. You see me wearing nice suits but if I give a fan my life to live for a week, not everybody will agree to continue after a few days.
Why do you think so?
There is a lot of money but it comes with a lot of pressure. Imagine waking up to people being rude to you on social media. You wake up to curses because you tweeted that God just blessed you with a car, for instance.
Amidst the controversy swirling around the decision by the electoral commission to postpone Nigeria’s elections by six weeks, Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua has released a video online with a prophecy he allegedly gave one year ago.
“What I am seeing is heavy. I am seeing rain – the cloud is darker. The fulfillment of 2015 – pray for it,” Joshua told congregants on February 9th 2014 in a clip uploaded to YouTube channel ‘Emmanuel TV’.
“Is that not the time of elections? Democracy is sweet – pray that your democracy would not be rubbished,” he continued.
Clarifying further, the cleric added, “I am seeing disagreement at the end of the day and that disagreement can result to anything. Nigeria, these are the challenges you are going to face – challenges of disagreement… They will want to fight; we have to pray.”
The clip concluded with another segment of Joshua addressing his congregation, this time on November 9th 2014. “Pray for your nation,” he said. “If you are able to cross this election, you cross it all. The election you are about to do will determine Nigeria.”
The elections, which were scheduled to hold on February 14th 2015, have been shifted to 28th March, in a move widely criticized as being ‘undemocratic’.
The electoral commission cited security concerns as the reason for the postponement with several areas in the north-east of the country still under the control of Islamic terrorist group Boko Haram.
queensmith: Nigerians are powerless against the ruling class, then again so is everyone else. But here the only tool that gives us the illusion of democracy is being taken away.
barcanista: This election postponement is most embarrassing and a testament that Preofessor Attahiru Jega is an incompetent and clueless dude just like the President. This is the first time since we returned to democracy that the INEC Boss will openly take orders from the NSA, the Military and members of pro-PDP as regards election scheduling and rescheduling. Since when has the Military activities determines elections scheduling? The Electoral Act and the Constitution did not say NSA, Military and INEC should determine election date. Even if there is crises in a part of the country, Section 26(1) of the Electoral Act 2010 (amended) permit INEC to hold election in the peaceful area and reschedule for the trouble zone at a convenient date. Why can't Jega invoke this section and exclude Gombe, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe from Feb 14 and Feb 28 poll until March 28 and Aprill 11 respectively? Since when do we need the Military for election? What is the Statutory duties of the Police, the NSCDC, and by extension the DSS with respect to internal security? If personnels are not enough then why not bring in other paramilitary to assist? Must it be the Military? Was the Military used in 2003, 2007 and 2011 election? Militarisation started from Edo 2012,then Ondo(2012), Anambra(2011), Osun and Ekiti(2014) Gubernatorial contests. When did the Military become statutory responsible for internal security? The letter of the Chief of Defense State that was communicated to Jega through NSA Sambo Dasuki is treachery and unfortunate. Jega's announcement yesternight only confirmed that he doesn't know what he is doing. This is a shame, our democracy has been raped.
While I would say Uncle Joe is toying with a keg of gunpowder. It's far too easy to, safely, sit behind a keyboard and criticize Jega.
Obama, himself, has a long list of unconstitutional actions. It's just the nature of 'absolute' power.
victorazy: Ur such a yoruba hediot!!! DBanj is no where to be compared with Don-J. Dbanj has mouth now cuz maybe he got little change from his last show (10th aniv)
