einsteine: Who says they are untaxable. You pay capital gains tax like you pay on any asset. This is the lack of knowledge that we are talking about. Did YOU personally pay capital gains tax on the BTC you've sold? What percentage of the BTC sold by Nigerians do you think was taxed accordingly the government? |
Business › Re: CBN: Why We Banned Cryptocurrency In Nigeria by BuddhaPalm(m): 12:18pm On Feb 08, 2021 |
einsteine: That's like declaring gold illegal. Governments and companies are already including or making plans to include bitcoin as part of their treasury. Lol at governments banding together to send BTC to the fringes of the internet. For you to make this statement shows a profound lack of knowledge about the nature of the Blockchain. It's understandable as even many people who own bitcoin don't understand the implications of the technology. I recommend research before one opines on bitcoin and other cryptocurrency related topics.
Pension funds are already buying bitcoin and a significant percentage of the world's electricity is dedicated towards mining bitcoins. These arguments and opinions of yours are 2013 arguments and have long been treated. If they can't completely regulate it... Governments won't tolerate untaxable income and transactions. |
Business › Re: CBN: Why We Banned Cryptocurrency In Nigeria by BuddhaPalm(m): 9:59am On Feb 08, 2021 |
einsteine: Silly arguments.
Have we banned 100 dollar bills even though that's the favourite way politicians store their loot? If anyone thinks governments will allow an alternate means of payment completely outside their control to supplant fiat money is dreaming. In the end governments will band together and send BTC to the fringes of the internet, if they can't completely regulate it. If it's declared illegal, lots of law abiding citizens won't touch it with a long pole. |

CSTRR: There are crypto "banks" in Nigeria that can allow you to withdraw Naira with your bitcoin ATM card.
Check out "Patricia " You mentioned the world is moving away from fiat money... So the question is to "To what?" If you answer is Bitcoin, then what have you bought with Bitcoin lately? Unfortunately, right now, Bitcoin is not a currency. |

Omihanifa: The central bank is just plainly stupid for taking this funny decision
They banned it simply because they don't know how the system works.
The CBN should better wake up and embrace technology. the world is moving away from Fiat money
Ordinary dollar they can't provide sufficiently for businesses in the country now people are moving towards digital money they are getting angry.
Thesame government that can't provide jobs for the masses wants to kill the little that is putting food on the tables of Nigerians Have you ever bought anything with crypto? |

NwadykExcel: The Nigerian army has been incompetent and inept since the inception of this Nation. That's why the Biafran war lasted so long,Due to the ineptitude of the Nigerian Army. Finally, "all die na die"...Whether by an incompetent person or not. 2m dead no be beans. Abeg, no one will benefit from a war. |

justosee: Nigeria is a country filled with different tribes who are already tired of living together. Any little crisis may lead to a full blown war especially in the southeast. We never come back from the one we go before. Who will benefit from a war? 1. Everything in the east will be destroyed. 2. All these kidnappers and armed robbers will turn to warlords and terrorize everyone. 3. Again, everything in the east will be destroyed... |

justosee: you can't repeat that in this age. See this guy...which age? The world hasn't changed one bit. They will go there and massacre people and NOTHING will happen. Lekki tollgate was just last year. Who has been punished? Egypt recently had massacre like kilode and nothing happened. Those guys are honestly playing with fire. |

Sonnobax15:

I think it's high time the people of Orlu asked the people of Udi in Bayelsa what OBJ did to their community in 1999
Even as little as an ant wasn't alive to tell of the bombardment that the Nigerian military released on them.........
Please we don't want war......Just like no sensible igbo man who witnessed the Biafra civil war would ever want such kind of thing to repeat itself for the second time in his lifetime... That's what the people beating their chest right now don't understand. Apart from the few soldiers in hilux trucks, there's a lot more things where they came from. And when they field those things, church will dismiss. There was also the Zaki Biam massacre in 2001. They can repeat it in Orlu and nothing will happen. |

demmie1: Seriously? Using a 1940 archaic aircraft college students use to test their flying skills. What happened to training with f22s The F22 is an air superiority fighter. We don't really need it for the peculiar challenges we face. Boko Haram doesn't have an air force... The Supertucano, on the other hand, is a light attack aircraft that fits nicely with our needs of fighting terrorists. |

Activist001: Nytimes with fake news again.
Did Trump invade the capitol, why will he pardon himself? HE FUCKING CONDEMNED THE ACT, something democrats never did and will never do with their violent homeboys!
So 5 people (mostly the protesters [some were killed by police]) died from the what happened at DC and we have this type of outrage because Trump is involved, but when BLM and their cohorts were burning down America, torching federal buildings, burning police stations and killing cops, everyone saw it as a "peaceful protest"?
Thunder fire una and this hypocrisy. Una never see anything. The "peaceful protesters" also attacked the Whitehouse and injured about 50 Secret Service agents. |
Politics › Re: US Electoral System Does Not Meet Democratic Standards - Russia by BuddhaPalm(m): 4:53pm On Jan 07, 2021 |
Tolexander: The electoral college system seems to be archaic. Let individual vote for whoever he feels like voting for and not having to be lobbed up to vote for who will deliver his will and intention The US comprises different "countries" (kind of) which are in a Union. Take the African Union for example, if the AU Leader is chosen in a "direct democracy vote" of all the member states' citizens, then the agenda of countries with large populations like Nigeria will always dominate. The electoral college allows smaller states to have voice. |

It didn't match a combination for him and his wife.
He didn't pursue the girl though – she's been his daughter for almost 20 years.
But he made her change her surname, and still continued to train her. |
