A female customer in Komatipoort, eastern South Africa, got the shock of her life when she reached into a fridge for a drink and instead found herself pulling at a huge, 3.6-meter African rock python.

The unidentified woman screamed in terror, prompting the manager of the supermarket, a local Spar outlet, to rush out. When the manager, Martie Esnouf, saw the python, she immediately called in a snake catcher. The snake catcher cleared the freezer and, with the help of a colleague, safely pulled the huge snake out.

The snake catcher said the python's internal organs had shut down as the freezer's cold temperature had induced it to slump into a near-hibernation status. He added that he planned to release it back into the wild away from the supermarket.

Esnouf was uncertain as to how the python got into the shop: "I don't know it got in there but it could have come in through the roof or the drains and it ended up in the shop fridge.

The Malabu deal involving Shell Petroleum and Eni Is getting mercier day after day. In a report by The Nation Newspaper, the media office of the ex-President denied the allegations on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. But the ex-President claims the news is fake.

In a statement signed by the ex-president's media aide, Ikechukwu Eze, the allegation was regarded as false and one more in the series of fake news sponsored by those threatened by Jonathan’s continuously rising profile in the international community. Eze further said that the report relied on hearsay evidence from a man of questionable character who provided no substance to back up his false claim.

The statement reads:

“The man quoted by the report said he ‘assumed’ that Dr. Jonathan would be bribed. Since when has the assumption of a crook been enough to smear the reputation of a patriot and international statesman like Dr. Goodluck Jonathan? “The report also wrongly claimed that “Jonathan and Etete had known each other for years, according to Shell staff, when Jonathan served as a tutor to Etete’s children while he was a minister.” This claim is clearly ridiculous and nothing can be further from the truth.

“In the first place, the former President couldn’t have been a ‘tutor’ to Etete’s children without first establishing contact with the family. This is because Jonathan met Etete who served as the Petroleum Minister in Gen. Abacha’s military regime for the first time under the succeeding civilian administration, when he was already the deputy Governor of Bayelsa State. Even then, the fact remains that ex-President Jonathan has never met any of Etete’s children.

“Besides, Jonathan couldn’t have been anybody’s private tutor during that period, because he was already in the directorate cadre in Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission, OMPADEC (now NDDC), having already left the academia, at the time Etete was a serving
minister.

“This story, coming so soon after the fake news that Dr. Goodluck Jonathan refused British help in rescuing the Chibok Girls (a story that the British Government debunked) and that he plans to contest the 2019 elections (another lie), proves that these fallacious stories are deliberately contrived for reasons that are yet to be publicly disclosed.

“It is instructive that this same old fable apparently intended to rubbish Jonathan’s name locally and internationally, is being recycled with more lies added to garnish the narrative, at a time the ex-President is making efforts to resolve the issues in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“Again, let us point out for clarity and for the umpteenth time that while he was in office and now that he is out of office, former President Jonathan did not open and does not own any bank account, aircraft or real estate outside Nigeria. Anyone with contrary information is challenged to publicly publish same,” Eze said.

The ex-President also appealed to the media to report facts rather than innuendo and gossip. The allegations bothering on the Malabu oil deals were published on a gossip news site, Buzzfeed, and republished by a few other newspapers.

Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has once again echoed the need for Nigerians to rally round President Muhammadu Buhari so as to join in the fight against corruption in the country. The Nigerian vice president warned that Nigeria would be in trouble if the present war against corruption was not won.

Osinbajo acknowledge that corruption is fighting back, but assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari was committed to sustaining the anti-corruption fight. According to Vanguard, he said that Buhari had plans to ensure that the system was cleaned up and government business done the right way. He also called for a re-orientation of the Nigerian people.

Festus Keyamo has reacted to the Speaker of House of Representative, Yakubu Dogara's claim of just going home with N300,000 each month. This responds and critic is coming just a day after Yakubu Dogara made public his pay slip which contained just N300,000 as a month steepen for the speaker of the House.

Festus reacted rather in a humorous way which suggests that Mr. Yakubo Dogara is not going to fool anybody. Frankly Nigerians are not that gullible again and I don't know why these politicians thinks otherwise.

A 20yrs old male teacher has been arrested by Nigeria Police in Jigawa State today being Tuesday 11th, 2017 for allegedly burning a Volkswagen Bus belonging to a company in Dutse Local Government Area of the state.

According to NAN, the police Spokesman, Mr Jinjiri Abdu, who confirmed the arrest, said the suspect, (Names withheld), a junior secondary school teacher, allegedly used petrol and matches and set the bus ablaze. He explained that the vehicle belonged to a company called Skin Defence, producers of medicated soap in Kano State.

He said the suspect committed the offence on April 10 in Kwaimawa village when the company’s representative was conducting sales promo for a medicated soap in the village. “The suspect burnt the bus after his mother participated in the promo and won a body lotion.

“The mother later demanded that the lotion be replaced with wrapper or N500, but the company declined. “After the bus moved to another place, this man went and brought petrol and matches which he allegedly used to set the bus ablaze.

“And there were items worth N1m that got burnt in the bus, and both the bus and items were valued at N1.5m,” the police spokesman said. He said the investigation into the matter had commenced after which the suspect would be charged to court.

Drama ensued at the PCEA Church in Kanyama, Mathira Constituency, Kenya on Saturday, April 8th, which mandated a temporary stoppage of a wedding ceremony after a woman stormed the arena claimming that the groom was her husband and father of her children.

The woman identified as Lydia Mugure stormed the church accompanied by her two children and demanded entry after police officers locked the main gate denying her and other church members access. While outside the church, she cried that her husband had neglected her and their children since December 2016. She claims he was getting married to the officiating minister's secretary named Grace.

"We broke up on December 31, 2016. I have no problem with our separation but he has decided to marry again. I have two children, one aged 10 and the other aged 5. What I want is he takes his children with him. He has married another woman in pretence of having no children. I also want to marry without the stress of being a mother," she said.

"We have been married for ten years. I don't want him. On Wednesday, he had told me that the wedding would not take place. As at yesterday (Friday April 7th) plans of the wedding were still on. That is why I came here today to disrupt the wedding. Let us first settle the children dispute and then we can move on after that. He has a pending case at the children's court. He has been summoned four times to appear before the court, but he has never honoured the court summons" ranted Ms Mugure.

After exchanging their vows, the new couple quickly left the church while being hidden by family members. A crowd outside the church reportedly stoned the couple's convoy as it sped off. Congregants, who attended the wedding criticized the officiating Minister named Moses Muturi for rushing the function, saying they had been informed of the wedding just few days ago. They threatened to boycott Sunday service unless Rev. Muturi apologizes and rectifies his mistake.

"Rev. Muturi is corrupt. He had received money from the groom and that is why he rushed the whole exercise," a congregant who spoke under anonymity, alleged. "The two, who tied the knot, are not our church members. We protested the announcement of their planned wedding last Sunday. Today, we were locked out of the church. There was no single elder in the church to witness the wedding. That was just wrong. The Rev. has smeared mud on our church,"another source added.

However, the Minister said the wedding can only be stopped by a court order. "So, we had no reason to stop the wedding. So, the two's marriage is now formal. The former wife can go to court," said Rev. Muturi.

According BBC News, two explosions at Coptic churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday left at least 31 people dead and injured dozens of others as a day of worship in the besieged Christian community turned to destruction, bloody and carnage.

The first blast ripped through St. George’s Church in northern Egypt in the Nile Delta city of Tanta, 50 miles north of Cairo, during a Mass about 9:30 a.m., according to an official from the Health Ministry. The deputy minister of health put the preliminary death toll at 25.

Hours later, a suicide bomber set off another explosion outside the main Coptic church in Alexandria, St. Mark’s Cathedral, killing at least six — including three police officers — and injuring 21 others, the Health Ministry said.

According to local authorities, death toll are expected to rise.

EFCC Refers To ICPC As "Introvert" When It Comes To Fighting Corruption - Reactions

Undoubtedly, the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC has become somewhat obsolete in Nigeria as far as fighting corruption is concerned and one would wonder if they really have a twitter handle.

Well, following the activeness of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and especially their twitter "fun" handler, a worried twitter user asked if the ICPC was still active on twitter. EFCC "@officialEFCC without wasting much time replied the user saying:

Singer Davido's alleged second babymama is adamant and she kept insisting that Davido is the father of her baby. Though Davido has vehemently denied the allegation, but the alleged babymama, Ayomide Labinjo, has come up with more revelations and this is mind boggling. Because of the said report, he threatened to sue the Punch Newspaper for reporting lies about him.

But in a recent development, the lady has opened up to the newspaper, recalling what they did before sex, how he allegedly made love to her twice before they break of dawn and how the singer is not a fan of wearing condoms during sex.

In her words:

“I was shocked that Davido said he gave me money. I saw where he said he sent money to my family and that is a lie. “The question I would ask is that what account did he pay the money into? He should bring out the bank teller. He has never given me money. “If they said they have given me money, there would be a record or evidence and they should bring it out. Even when we had sex, he never gave me money for transport.

“David is a very stingy person and I would not be the first person saying this. I have heard it from different girls, David is very stingy. “The reason I slept with him the first time we met was because I just wanted to catch my fun. “The day we met at the club, Ebevande, I was with my friends, I did not really know him then but I just knew he was an artiste.

“I went out with my female friends; we had like a ladies night out; then one of his bouncers came to meet me and told me that his boss wanted to see me. I actually thought it was the owner of the club that wanted to see me. “When I got to where they were, I noticed that it was David and he was with B. Red. I greeted both of them, B. Red did not respond but David did and we talked. He collected my pin and asked me to return to my seat.

My friends thought we were all going together but when we all got to the car, he asked my friends to go back. He said that I was the one he wanted to see. “We went to the Genesis Hotel. When we got to the room, we talked for a long while before we had sex. He is a very jovial person and he loves talking. He made me laugh a lot and we talked at length. B. Red was in the other room.

“I insisted that he should protect himself by wearing a condom before sex but he refused. He said that he does HIV test every two weeks. Then I asked him how sure he was that I did not have any disease but he said he was very sure I did not have a disease. “After he had said all that, I told him to just do what he wanted to do and allow me go home in the morning. That night, he had sex with me twice.

“You would know he was in the mood to have sex that night and it lasted for a while. He has a big manhood and it hurt me a little. The second time was when he noticed I was leaving in the morning and he just wanted to have sex with me again. “The second time, the sex did not last long because he was very tired and he did not even know when I left the hotel. I do not drink or smoke but David drinks and smokes. He drank and smoked in the club.

“I am very sure he is the father of my child because I did not have a boyfriend when we met. I had some male friends but it was just a platonic relationship I had with them and nothing serious. “I don’t jump from one bed to another and that is why I am very bold and certain that he is the father of my child. If I had been sleeping around, I would not be that bold to talk.

“All I want is for Davido to step forward for another DNA test; even if the result shows that Davido is the father of my child, I doubt mutual love would co-exist between them because of the way he has treated her all these years. “I just want him to take up his responsibility but I heard he is not ready for another DNA. My mother has gone to a lawyer and we would eventually go to court because I know we have a good case.

“I was told that even if David does not want to step out for a DNA, any of his siblings could step in for him. “Once everything is settled, I just want him to take care of his daughter but there cannot be mutual love between us. Even the way he talks to me cannot allow for mutual love.”

Davido has not responded to the development yet but we are sure he will.
