These people are not NIGERIANS. They are Iranians. Iran is notorious for arming fellow shites. Buhari must not drag Nigeria into a religious war. |
JaaizTech:I have met Dasuki. He is not the devil everyone is claiming he is. It may be that he 'stole' money. At the moment, it is only allegation of graft. Because NIGERIANs are emotional, they believe that there is no smoke without fire. Try and step aside from all the hullabaloo, be dispassionate about the copious allegations, then you can situate the whole thing rationally. Last quarter, it was Diezani. This quarter it is Dasuki. January will see another 'thief' "exposed". Witch hunting by APC or PDP must be discouraged. |
skidskid:Alas your supposition is spurious at best and very emotional. Let us follow due process. As a bona fide NIGERIAN, I am in the camp of those who believe that most NIGERIANs are guilty until proven innocent. In the spirit of the age, Dasuki and other northern politicians are obviously being targeted because they were not in APC. I am not a Dasuki or northern apologist as I have been accused elsewhere. However Dasuki's human rights of being heard should be safeguarded. BUHARI and others must focus on the economy and security in the north east. The alleged frittering away of $3 billion and the on going investigation is not enough to sate the quest of NIGERIAN youth for good governance. We don't need to google 'war' or 'riot' to know that Nigeria is currently standing at very perilous edge of a precipice. |
skidskid:The author failed to argue his 'point'. You cannot eat your cake and have it. If we want western democracy, then we must adhere to the rule of law in its entirety. Dr Okonjo Iweala has confirmed that she followed due process. She referred to a council meeting which was constituted according to our constitution, which sanctioned the expenditure through Dasuki. In other words, this was federal government decision, not merely Jonathan or Dasuki's. In other words, the money was NOT illegal. HOWEVER, I am angry that the money was not used judiciously to purchase the necessary arms to subdue boko haram. Although I UNDERSTAND the western governments refused to sell arms to the Jonathan administration. Just like they have refused to sell arms to Buhari administration, which means black market arms purchase. Inevitably, you will need to use cash to avoid western spies from monitoring the purchase and subsequent sanctions. The thing is that these things are rather very complex, yet simple minded people are arguing the matter in a simplistic manner, out of ignorance. Dasuki has defiantly stated that he will SEE the Fed in court next week. We will wait and see how the whole thing unfolds. The federal government is acting with impunity by arresting people Willy nilly. Dasuki, dalhatu, Kanu, etc. People are being picked off the street by DSS, EFCC, POLICE, etc. Then they are not charged. That is illegal by the government. It could be you tomorrow. |
The title of this Sahara reporters piece is misleading and the ensuing argument is bereft of logical analysis. The author has not followed all the relevant news pertaining to the on going investigations. What is in the public domain is as follows: Dasuki received just over 2 billion dollars for security cumulatively over a period of time. This money was meant to procure arms to fight boko haram and security votes for people in the corridors of power respectively. The questions that NIGERIANs should be asking is: is the NSA mandated by the constitution to request the money and disburse as required? If the answer is yes, then is the NSA allowed to circumvent the anti-money laundering initiatives by handing out large sums to select individuals and corporate entities in cash. If the answer is No!, then Dasuki should be prosecuted for malfeasance. For the avoidance of doubt, the CBN governor or the minister of finance does not have mechanisms to vet, reject or investigate perfectly presented mandates from government parastatals, who are operating under emergency conditions. They only need to reference the presidency. The author is playing to the gallery and as a devils advocate. Nigerians are being led down a dangerous alley way by this witch hunt. Keep an eye on the deteriorating Nigeria economy which is comatose at best. |
Witch hunt is all very well. Buhari needs to tell us the way forward. What is his fiscal and monetary policy? What are supply side and demand side stimuli or dynamics to pull the 160 million Nigerians living beneath the dreaded poverty line. NIGERIAN are looking at one man to save them from destruction. This is not democracy or progress. Regaling Nigeria with the former lot did or not is definitely what we do not need when 20000 people are needlessly dying daily from lack of basic needs. |
NGIGE is on his own. A midget pretender. |
dunkem21:It is sad that you missed point. Nigeria has gone backwards and downwards. We witnessing dictatorship once again. |
Another governor buying the police. He who pays the police, owns the police. 2019 elections has just been secured by this act. |
Nonsense. Mr Kalu cannot win an election in Abia. He pillaged that impoverished state. I question the jubilation bit. The eboes here in Lagos hate Mr Kalu more than any other Eboe . |
Emmanuel adebayor is a stark and irredeemable uneducated person. With 10 times what he has, no one will want to be in his shoe or shoes |
I wrote petitions against fashola and Amaechi, complete with well annotated and brazen instances of corrupt enrichment to efcc and icpc. Yet efcc has not invited either to clear themselves. Efcc is a political tool for those in power. Icpc are also being manipulated. Where is obj in all these? All Jonathan aides will eventually be roped in. Ffk, etc will all be invited soon. |
seunmsg:Perhaps you can read a taster here. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/nigerias-public-accounts-the-curse-of-mismanagement-of-funds/ Then google obasanjo misappropriation. After that, then go for YAR'ADUA extra budgetary expenses. Why stop at the contingency fund? You must disabuse yourself of the formally stated systems on how to run Nigeria government and dwell more on how it is run. We speak about corruption. Buhari speaks about corruption. I saw AISHA Buhari on a recent visit to uk to see her children who were attending some establishments over there. She was with Daisy DANJUMA. If I tell you how much was spent during this trip, then you know that what is said and done by the leaders and their family is different from what you are struggling to articulate. Look in the mirror and admit the truth. |
seunmsg:This explanation is putrid, lame and very annoying. Can you withdraw this your nauseating commentary from this forum. Why are you trying to tell us something that has so many interpretations, meaning and semantics. Your explanation is plumbing new depths in 'dumbness'. Please read up on appropriation. Obasanjo and Umar YAR'ADUA all moved money around in times of emergency. So has Buhari. But that is not the issue. My bone of contention is the mob mentality of people in these fora. |
smogup:Get a job! Stop hallucinating. Has Nigeria become better for you now that Buhari is in power? |
adanny01:GEJ has every right to approve this money to get the necessary arms to Nigeria soldiers to liberate chibok girls which ultimately cost him his presidency. He was far from dumb or clueless. Keep your two coins in your pocket next time GeJ was topical. |
Neither Jonathan nor Okonjo Iweala committed any offence. Oshiomole was wrong. The president can move money around to address issues not for seen by tiered procurement. Political illiterates and the likes of premium times and Sahara reporters go for sensationalism to smear our former leaders. Dasuki was right to request for the money. Jonathan was right to approve. What and how the money was spent should be audited cogently and impartially. Leave Okonjo Iweala out of this witch hunt. |
The beatification of mr Kanu has just started. The Fed should release him before Biafra becomes a genuine idea that the eboes will latch on to. |
Very corrupt man. The ugly faces of corruption |
This woman died because of trigger happy Nigeria security personnel. I understand that she was not for or against Biafra. She was not demonstrating or agitating for anything. She was just in the wrong place, wrong time, etc. There is no word from Buhari or the useless IG of Police about justice for this unfortunate woman. In Nigeria, life is cheap. NKIRUKA, I did not know of your existence until 10 days ago. And even though you have gone too soon. You will not be forgotten. Your name will remain in the annals of security personnel brutality. |
This story is nonsense. This man is a thief! |
irunooboo:The eboes are smart. No need to infiltrate. Even with Ipob thugs, majority will vote to forget Biafra and its promoters. |
NNAMDI Kanu does not represent the eboes. He is no hero. He does not represent Biafra or any other organisation but himself. Why are the Eboe youth killing themselves and others because of Mr Kanu's temporary incarceration? Fact is that Mr Kanu is a bona fide British citizen, which means he cannot be maltreated by our 'cheeky' security personnel. He even came back to Naija with visa on a British passport. The Fed have detained him in cooperation with the British government to 'caution' him. As a British citizen, he has been treated like a VIP prisoner. Most Eboe youth must shine their eyes. NNAMDI and his self serving acolytes are exploiting gullible and desperate eboes to achieve their selfish objectives. Buhari should agree to Igbo referendum as mr Dele momodu advocated recently. This will settle this issue once and for all. I know that the Eboe are not interested in 'independence'. |
We have moved on from these baseless allegations. it is very shameful that the greatest living Nigeria, who stepped down and saved lives sacrificially is being traduced in the yellow press. |
So Saraki rigged his election? Did Buhari not rig his election? Did all the governors not rig their election. These agberos on this post are sick. Get a life. People should find work and should stop trolling Saraki. Of course he rigged. But Buhari rigged before our own eyes. |
Your remarks are spot on. Nigeria Army is a failed organisation. It is more a criminal organisation. The level of lying with impunity can never be equaled. I am embarrassed, ashamed and humiliated by what non Nigerians are thinking about this lying, cheating, corrupt and bestial 'army'. Despite Nigeria spending close to 27% of it's GDP on Armed Forces, we are yet to experience their 'success'. Buhari should move his operational headquarters from Aso Villa to Borno. What is happening up there is unconscionable. ObaOMENT: |
Nigeria bonds are junk rated. JP Morgan are right to excise Nigeria from their index. I am satisfied that this bank has not done any thing untoward. Nigeria is rapidly declining in all the acceptable indices which is used to rate sovereign states. Can Nigeria raise more debt in the bond markets? No body wants Nigeria bond. How is Nigeria going to payback? The state of Nigeria is sad and disastrous. While Nigeria is doing everything to go back to 1984, other countries are rushing to 2016. |
An exercise in futility. Buhari was not a democrat who believes in the rule of law. Nigeria does not practise the rule of except when a pleb is involved. Interesting topic all the same |
He is a swordsman |
I read somewhere that more than a third of Nigerian doctors are quacks, especially the INDIA 'qualified' ones. All her former 'patients' must be traced and verified to ensure that they get correct treatment. Only in Nigeria. |
Mediocre actors, lousy husbands. The game is up. Emeka must read the hand writing on the wall |
odious man |
