Demdem:
U are wrong. If he has his originals with him, then there is no reason for an affidavit but because he doesn't have, that explains the reason for the affidavit. Next question is, then where is the originals? The General claimed his house was ransacked by the military after the coup and carted away all his valuables including his certificates so to him they are all with the military. He never lied and his affidavit is in order. You deserve a privileged place in hell for speaking from both sides of your mouth. |

Buhari should be taken directly to Kirikiri for hoodwinking nigerians. The law says very clearly that lying on official forms, is a criminal offence punishable by 12 years in jail with hard labour. He relied on the army to save his bacon, but he has clearly failed. The army can now dismiss him, as well as Murtala, BABANGIDA, Abacha and others who were forcibly conscripted by the ethnocentric Sarduana without WAEC. Buhari Suis Kirikiri. Good riddance to APC saddists. Well done to PDP. |

Doyin2: Please quote the section of the constitution that says you must attach certificates.Let us assume you have to attach your certificates, but as at the time of the deadline of submitting the form,it was not available, what should happen?Remember, the affidavit read something like: ''....as at the time of submitting the form.......''
Section 31 of the Electoral Act and 318 of the constitution are very clear(The law is not interested in any certificate, but just an assurance that you are educated),an affidavit is sufficient ,according to the law:
ELECTORAL ACT 31. -(1) Every political party shall not later than 60 days before the date appointed for a general election under the provisions of this Act, submit to the Commission in the prescribed forms the list of the candidates the Party proposes to sponsor at the elections. (2) The list or information submitted by each candidate shall be accompanied by an Affidavit sworn to by the candidate at the High Court of a State, indicating that he has fulfilled all the constitutional requirements for election into that office. (3) The Commission shall, within 7 days of the receipt of the personal particulars of the candidate, publish same in the constituency where the candidate intends to contest the election. (4) Any person may apply to the Commission for a copy of nomination form, affidavit and any other document submitted by a candidate at an election and the Commission shall, upon payment of a prescribed fee, issue such person with a certified copy of document within 14 days‖. (5) Any person who has reasonable grounds to believe that any information given by a candidate in the affidavit or any document submitted by that candidate is false may file a suit at the High Court of a State or Federal High court…
CONSTITUTION SECTION 318
..."School Certificate or its equivalent" means
(a) a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or (b) education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or (c) Primary Six School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent and - (i) service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of ten years, and (ii) attendance at courses and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totalling up to a minimum of one year, and (iii) the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and (d) any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission You are quoting a paragraph that has been superceded. I will remind you that Lai MOHAMMED is lawyer. TAMBUWAL is a lawyer. These are APC leaders, who have been quiet lately on this issue. Their taciturn forbearance is attributed to the fact, that PDP are asserting their right. Another way to resolve this is to go to Buhari's school records, retrieve any serial number pertaining to his scholarship there, then ask WAEC to retrieve the records, which will suffice. WAEC/WASC has records going back decades. Buhari's conduct so far suggest that he may not have sat the exams. In that case, he should submit the equivalent certificate as required by Nigerian constitution (amended). Time is running out for his continued candidature. |

Doyin2: Are his documents not with the military? Are you also aware that the military ransacked his house when he was overthrown by IBB,carting away his vital documents, including certificates? You need to do more research,Google is your friend!
You do not need a PhD to be president of Nigeria, but experience, capacity, capability and vision.
Anyway,GMB has more than school cert.He has complied fully with the laws of the land.I admire his calmness over this nonsensical hooey.A general that has attended the best degree awarding military institutions in the world(local and international),has enough education to lead Nigeria. He has done it before!!!!!!!

Without prejudice. The constitutional requirement quoted above has since been amended. The candidate must attach his minimum qualification, WAEC in the case of Buhari to his application. This is why his affidavits sufficed in the earlier elections. But since 2012, you must attach a copy of your certificates. What INEC should do is to obey the law, by cancelling his candidature instead of suggesting that they are not constitutionally allowed to disqualify Buhari, out of fear. Perhaps jega needs to be reminded about the oath he swore, when he accepted the job. Buhari is looking increasingly forlorn, and exasperated by all these. He is increasingly looking jaundiced. |
Politics › Re: Certificate Saga: PDP Rejects Buhari's Explanation, Demands His Certificate by callmenow: 12:46pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
Clueless APC bandits on this forum should earnestly tell Buhari to obey the law. Jega and INEC must submit to the extant laws of the land as well. INEC telling PDP or aggrieved citizens to go to court is lazy and incompetent. It is trite that the requirement is WAEC or you are disqualified. If the executive president can submit himself, then others must comply. APC are handing JONATHAN an easy victory by default. |

Firstly, whatsapp usage in Nigeria is in the low 10 percent. So if APC is relying on it or omojuwa, etc, then it's boat is truly sunk. The price of fuel is coming down. University fees is soon to come down. MTN and glo will soon reduce their prices. Then Jonathan will then claim that he is governing for the many and not the few. Hope, you geddit. |
