They've recorded over 50 deaths, many cities still don't have test kits, their manufactures can not ramp up to produce the kits but, they did performed excellently than Nigeria because they instituted travel ban that they just instituted days ago after realizing how unprepared they were and after widespread infections and deaths..

I have told u b4, there are many reasons to be proud of Nigeria, u don’t have to lie. US never rejected test kits from WHO or anybody (see below). US already had 12 testing sites b4 Nigeria received her first test kits. When the Italian guy landed late February 9ja had ONE testing site and no quarantine site.

But beyond all that, this is a disease that people start infecting other people BEFORE they have any symptoms. So the best way to checkmate it is by banning flights and automatic quarantine of people from certain areas, which US was doing in February and Nigeria has not started doing till date.

If Nigeria had cold weather that one Italian guy would have infected 100 people and they in turn would have infected other people BEFORE he was diagnosed; there’d be no way to catch up with all of them. Also suppose the Italian didn’t come forward right away as he did (Though even then our weather and vitamin D from our hot sun would have prevented much spreading of the virus!)

Nigeria has done NOTHING special to mitigate Corona. They have infact done less than US who instituted bans and automatic quarantines back in February, something 9ja has not done todate!

Nigeria tested and obtained results in less than 4 hours, Senegal tested and obtained results in less than 4 hours, but in America at the moment, it takes more than 24 hours.

U can’t possibly be this dense. Did Nigeria or Senegal develop their own tests?! Is it not the same approved test kits they are all using?? In US people who want to get tested have to fill out forms then wait, because there are too many people; while in tropical countries like Senegal they beg people to be tested. In US flu kills 40,000 people a year, in Senegal zero. There are reasons to be proud of Nigeria/Africa but response to corona is not one of them. Stop talking nonsense.

We should be thankful and grateful that the virus did not spread in Nigeria and Africa as a whole rather boasting. I do not believe this is because we were better prepared at all. If it was are prepared, how many people have been identified and stopped at the airport since then or are you saying only that 1 person has entered Nigeria with the virus?

While ýou may want to be thankful to the weather, you should also acknowledge the government's efforts in trying to curtail the virus
Even countries like the UK with the wrong weather and where its spreading like wildfire have not done half as much as Nigeria.
When you enter through Heathrow from Italy, nobody questions you about history of contact with anyone with Covid19, or check your temperature. They don't have time for that or they simply don't care
The most vulnerable groups are the elderly and those with other health problems that makes them more susceptible to serious illness.
UK is not doing more than Nigeria, and all they advice is practical steps which Nigeria has also done. Avoid crowded spaces or gatherings, wash or sanitize your hands regularly.
Everyone is still just learning about the virus and we're not sure if it's really the weather, genetics or whatever.
The greatest health challenge Africa has faced for decades are infectious diseases. Many of us have strong immunity because of previous exposures to a lot of infections. So perhaps that's helping the continent in this case.

People should stop bandying about these stories of walking through airports without being checked. IT IS NOT TRUE. It was not true even before Wuhan.

The only way of truly checkmating corona is travel ban or automatic quarantine. None of which we have done to date. Most of what we have done is eye service or medicine after death. Even in February countries had instituted travel bans and automatic quarantines (see below).

God bless Nigeria and I wish it were true that the government has done anything praiseworthy but the truth is that it hasn’t at all. It is ALL due to the weather.

We followed WHO because they recommended basically doing nothing. It has now been proven they were very wrong.

So far we Commend the Federal govt and others supporting organization for the better way they have curtailed the spread of this virus.

And we urge them to block any intending loophole that may project itself. Especially, targeting flight from countries with such virus by isolating every passenger beyond the days of the virus incubation period. If negative results,then release them to the society.
