GlitteringStar: The ECA summary is diploma (three years) and postgraduate (one year) right? If yes, it will give you points for two or more certificates. You will put the OND under your personal history details (post-ITA) while the HND+PGD is what you will use to claim points. You are too much. Thanks. |

GlitteringStar Anyone
I gat more questions abeg.
I evaluated my HND and pgd and was asked to produce the OND in the process. On the WES report, my HND + PGD were evaluated to be equal to Diploma (three years) and postgraduate certificate ( one year). There was no mention of the OND on my WES report. Do I need to include my OND on my EE profile? Or do I just put the HND to be equivalent to a straight 4 years bachelors?
For clarification sake, OND is for 2 years while HND is also for 2 years.

jbadmus: Warm greetings to everyone in here. I will be concluding my graduate program in the United States next year and I am planning to immigrate to Canada with my family who are on F2 Visa. The procedures for the Express Entry program and Comprehensive Ranking System are well understood, as I already know my approximate point( 443- with spouse). My inquiry bothers on being able to use the Retirement Savings Account (Pension) as Proof of Funds(POF). Yes, I understand that answers might have been provided to this similar question before now, but I want to if one can still use it even if the twenty-five percent benefit had already been applied for and received by the account holder. I have received mine already; so , I want to know if it is still possible to use it as a POF notwithstanding the nonavailability of the twenty-five percent any longer.
Again, is there any advantage of being a U.S resident(non-immigrant F1 visa holder) in the whole application process? Also, does having a graduate degree from the United States have any 'influence' in job search? One major advantage you have is that you don't reside in a "shithole" country. Hello everyone. |

Jawa: Hi yungreezy, good evening. yes sponsorship takes time. however, if i understand your post correctly, you just got your PR approved and had sent in your passport. if this is the case, do not make the mistake of applying for a visitor visa for your spouse. you can actually get married, inform IRCC and they will make provision for your spouse. you will have to return your passport with the stamped visa of course and they will add your spouse to your application. if your CRS is still not below the one that got you an ITA, in less than 2 months, you both shall have your immigrant visas. until you land at a canadian POE with an immigrant visa, certain modifications can be made.
please dont misunderstand what i called a 'mistake'. you can do whatever you like but, as i always say, judge your application yourself before submission. now if a new PR has a visiting spouse, it is very hard to convince a VO that this visit is temporary which is the ground on which visit visas are assessed. also, the funds you showed in your application was for an individual so a VO may worry that you may then experience some settlement difficulties. assess your chances and make a decision. i have a feeling its going to be a good year. best of luck Hi, Must the score after including my future spouse be more than what it was when I got ITA? Is this cast in stone? |

It would be better for you to get a dollar Mastercard from GTB. Annual maintenance fee and charges is $38. You can get dollars at cheaper rates from the mallams to fund your dollar account. No charges for online transactions . BTW, dollar rate from aboki is 363 (c$290), gtb would charge you (c$ 300) . Access bank charged my colleague 298 naira to a cad$.
If you can get the dollar Mastercard, it would be better for you because you may use it for your flight payment.

Hey guys,
I need your advice. Few days ago, I had to get my reference letter from my former employer. The company no longer exist but I had to meet with the CEO to give me a reference letter with the company letterhead. He did not include his website and official email address because they are no longer functional. However, he included his personal email and phone number. I wish to explain all these in my LOE ( letter of explanation). Is there something else I need to do?
BTW, I worked there for 2 years immediately after my NYSC. I've been in my present place of work for 7 years and can easily get reference letter from them.

Aquariann: I find the comments of most females here distasteful. They're all blaming the man for turning to another woman forgetting his wife has been denying him sex for eons.
To my second point, let's flip the script ladies. You're in the heat of an argument with your husband (not boyfriend or fiance please), and he tells you to your face he regretted choosing you over some other girl he was romantically involved with at a point.
Yes, the OPs wife told him to his face that (after five years of being married to her) she still prefered the other guy. She crossed the line at this point and NO MAN, worth his name will take this insult.
And yes, it was after she not just rejected him in the bedroom, but also voiced her rejection to his face that he was pushed to the other lady. Personally, I'll never have an erectïon for such a woman again, because I'll just find it hard to get it out of my head that she's just giving me a pity fvck.
Perhaps untill y'all understand the importance of sex (to a man) in marriage, y'all shouldn't get married. Seriously, you hardly see logic whenever African girls give their opinion on things. I'm sorry to say this but I have seen enough to arrive at this conclusion. Why would she deny him seex and expect him to make love to the wind. Unfortunately, the nigga tasted fresh kitten and "saw the light". His dick will never rise for the wife , understandably so. |

UjuJoan2: You caused it. . . .you stopped loving your own wife! You broke the deal and you broke the marriage agreement It's not the consorting with the stripper that's the problem, it's the inability to have an erection for your own wife. I Would walk away from the sham of a marriage too if it were me. Lol. Did you read where she was acting like a baby and denying him seex? If that happens to most men, they won't ask her for $ex ever again.. Do you deny African men sex when the single girls love seexing married men? The guy is so patient. The wife's eye go soon clear. Shey awaaal still likes a mother of 3 kids. |

keepingmum: Your marriage ended when you started sleeping with a w.hore and investing emotionally and financially with her rather than spending on your wife and kids (your number 1 priority). Your wife figured out but didnt say anything and you werent clued up enough to realise you were caught
From yourfirst post we all advised you to improve your finances as it appears your wife was feeling the strain financially. Clearly you were/are only interested in seex. Madam started hustling academically and even doing biz on the sides to make ends meet yet you were busy frustrating her efforts. Naturally she ll feel she made a mistake marrying a dream killer.

DatechMan: I am beginning to enjoy this thread. All the information being passed on here are really invaluable. I am also considering the Fall '18 admission . My understanding is that MSc. being thesis based and usually funded is more competitive. M.Eng. which is course-based is usually self-funded. I have also found that the M.Eng programme is usually slightly more expensive than the MSc. programme. I have never really given M.Eng a real thought before now, since I was applying as an international student. Now that I am a Canadian PR, I am seeming to favor it. Seniors in the house, please I need your input. I have a 4.02/5.0 from a Federal Uni. I want to weigh my chances before applying. This one that I hear that UBC is bouncing 1st class guys. I was in the telecom industry in Naija for about 4 years. I am looking to go for M Eng. or MSc. in Renewable Energy or related field. I am especially interested in a school with good coop/ internship opportunity.
Let's rub mind together abeg. This Canadian hustle shall end in praise. Bro,the fact that a couple of guys were bounced doesn't mean that your application will be bounced too. Shoot your shot o. . Also, apply to the less competitive schools. As a PR, you stand a better chance of being funded for your Msc program than as an international student. A professor in Utoronto told my colleague that she doesn't have "enough funding for international students". You know in some cases, your school fees as an international student is part of this funding and it's usually thrice what PR/ citizens pay. Well, my colleague is in the process of getting PR( got ITA recently and has submitted his application) and so wrote the professor to tell her that in few months time he could be a PR. The professor seems interested again and asked him to apply. |

einsteino: well most of my expertise is in structural engineering but i am open minded, i would decide on an option to specialise in as i learn more about the industry in canada.
btw I dont have PR yet, I'm on NA2. so all things being equal, before fall session starts, i should have. you may want to apply for PNP as a backup, i hear SINP is on, Civil Engineer should be on its occupation in demand list. SINP Nahhhhh. I'll rather wait for Ontario PNP or wait for CRS cutoff to come down. My resumption is Fall 2018 and that is 8 months from today, it's still a long time to get ITA and PR. I'll prefer to defer the admission to Jan 2019 if PR doesn't come before then. From the little research I've done, structural engineers are in high demand in North America. |

maternal: This is a perfect idea. The federal government, both federally and provincially, usually have programs for students. It allows students to get work in their field during the summertime. At times they'll keep you after you graduate. If not you'll at least have practical experience to go along with the degree. Thanks bro. |

vcole: I agree with salford1. Getting relevant Canadian experience and/or a Canadian qualification is an advantage that cannot be under played. A diploma or certificate sometimes would make a world of difference in your career progression on this end and could open doors a lot faster in your field of interest. So it is worth considering. salford1: Civil is a very good course even without Co-op, you would easily get soil testing or survey assistants jobs during summer holidays i.e when road maintenance kicks off. With OT and long hr shifts, you would also make a substantial amount of money every summer in addition to the work experience plus networking opportunity. Thanks guys. |

salford1: Nothing is guaranteed in life. Bridging programs though helps in learning alot about the canadian work culture, building resumes or building professional networks in your field, some would even send you to local college to obtain certificates that could be 8 months long free of charge plus stipends, much still depends on preparation, luck, favour or fate or whatever you want to call it.
In my opinion, they are definetly worth it since it is at no cost to you. Some are even competitive to get on. e.g CCIS programs in Calgary. They could receive over 200 applications for 20 spots in some of their programs. You would go through series of tests and interviews.
Just like you, I know lots of people that still returned to schools after bridging programs. I also know some that returned to survival jobs after bridging programs, and I also know some that got good jobs after bridging programs. There are also some that never made use of them as well and still got good jobs.
To each his own. I personally prefer getting Canadian qualification if you have the time or money. A bridging program may not give you the highly coveted canadian education and some co-op programs could give up to 1 year of paid work experience. Hi, Presently, I've got an Meng admission to study Civil engineering at University of Ottawa but it has got no co-op program. I plan to do engineering volunteer work while I school, do you think tbis is a good plan? It's all for the Canadian experience and qualification. Maternal Thecongo2 |
