Bastage:
LMAO.

Do they? Wow? Just like every other oil producing (and a load of non-oil producing) nations? Amazing!!! The Libyans do something that every other country in the world does as well. And that makes it special does it? LOL. Quick!! Libyans breathe air as well. That must make them a target too.
As usual, you are desperately reaching into the realms of fantasy again.
You say every other oil producing country in the world refines their own oil - so how come  your own country nigeria doesnt, why does it IMPORT PETROL despite being a major crude oil producer? perhaps  you could enlighten us folks on NL why the 6th largest oil exporter in the world does not have even one fully operational refinery in nigeria.

If you are intelligent enough to come to the conclusion that its because nigeria is run by a bunch of theiving incompetent fools then you will commend libya for not going down the same route, you will also marvel at  libya's ability to build 5 major oil refineries despite 12 years of economic sanctions imposed on it by the west.

Every time cap28 opens his mouth, he makes Libya under Gaddafi to be some kind of Utopian paradise.
He claims that Gadaffi made it a rich, wealthy nation.
Yeah, sure it's rich compared to sub-Saharan Africa but when you realise that it should be compared to the Gulf States and not nations like Nigeria, Ghanan, Kenya, etc, you discover just how badly Gadaffi has screwed his people. It's a small population with (according to cap28) vast oil reserves. Where is the money? Why haven't the people of Libya got it? Why aren't they living like the Arabs in the Gulf? The Saudis? The Kuwaitis? The UAE? Answer: because Gaddafi has stolen just about everything except for the few bones he throws to the people.
So in your mind despite the fact that Libya is an african country it should not be compared to other african nations but to the gulf states? honestly your way of reasoning is  lipsrsealed
They say remove the giant log in your own eye before you start complaining about the twig in someonelse's - how come you dont compare nigeria which has the second largest oil reserves in africa (libya having the highest) to the gulf states, why dont you compare the standard of living, the life expectancy, the human development index of nigeria to that of the gulf states?  Do you not think nigerians should also be living like the saudis and the kuwaitis?
Whether you want to accept it or not Gadaffi IMPROVED the living standards of libyans after he took power unlike nigeria's leaders who have continued to LOWER the living standdards of their own people year after year, Gadaffi constructed roads, built schools,  residential accommodation,  encouraged the education of women and he managed all this even while Libya was under draconian economic sanctions imposed on it by the west, nigeria has not even been able to provide the most basic amenities to its people despite record revenue surpluses I therefore  think it is totally ludicrous of you to talk about how rich YOU think libyans should be or how well YOU think they should be living when your own leaders havent even provided the most basic amenities to their own people - is there constant electricity, running water, good roads, good quality healthcare and education in libya - YES - are these basic amenities available to the average nigerian living in nigeria - NO -

Look at unemployment for example: it's over 30%. For the young, it's nearer double that. cap28 burbles on about Libyans owning their own houses, there being no private landlords and no homeless. Just like all of the rest of the dross that he utters, that's completely and utterly untrue. But even if it were true (which it is not), what good is a house if you can't afford to live in it because you have no job?
Einstein, if unemployment is 30% as you allege can you explain to me why there were thousands of chinese, british and canadian workers in libya? what were they doing there? how did they get these jobs, can you also  explain to me why so many nigerians, ghanainas, somalians and chadians are also there working on constructions sites, how did they get these jobs since unemployment is so high there?

By the way when you dont have to worry about paying a mortgage or rent - its one less financial burden off your back, so can you please explain to me why libyans would not be able to afford to live in houses that they dont have to pay for?

Officially unemployment in britain is currently running at 8% and 1 in 5 young people are out of work - surely you shuld be up in arms about that too?

cap28 will keep spewing his lies about the people of Libya being traitors, scum, etc. He ignores the fact that the second largest city - Benghazi - is totally against Gaddafi and he tars every person living there (what a scumbag).
He's nothing but a mouthpiece for his boyfriend Muammer.
the people of eastern libya and in particular benghazi have a historically antagonistic relationship with gadaffi primarily because they come from the same tribe as the deposed king idris and many feel resentment towards gadaffi for overthrowing one of their own - this is something that is not unique to libya, in nigeria northerners would rather unite with their kinsmen against any southerner rather than join forces with them , that is tribalism and it exists in every multi ethnic nation, therefore the idea that libya should be any different indicates just how hypocritical and delusional you are.  these eastern libyans out of greed and resentment have been working with western intelligence serivices since the 1980s to try and depose gadaffi but each time they have failed, this current situtation is merely a culmination of years of plotting and planning, funded and backed by the US/UK intelligence services, only now its out in the open, while you foam at the mouth and bend over backwards to defend these psychotic traitors bear in mind that they hate black african people and have been ra.ping, beheading and brutalising many black african migrant workers who have been  unfortunate to find themselves in eastern libya at this point in time.
divide and rule tactics is the major weapon of the western imperialist and he is using it to very good effect in the libyan situation, but because you are too s.tupi d to understand agenda of the western imperialist you remain oblivious to it, keep wallowing away in ignorance but dont expect everyone else to tow your s.tupid line.

His whole argument is based on racism. It's an argument of ignorance and hatred. He uses twisted facts to try to back that racism and ignorance up. He fails on every count.
can you please explain to me what is racist about exposing n.aked western imperialist aggression, please i would really like to know how in your mind you have come to the conclusion that i am racist because i have said:

it is immoral to invade a sovereign state without provocation under a false pretext of humanitarianism

it is immoral to drop tonnes of depleted uranium on a civilian population

it is immoral to try and assassinate the head of a sovereign nation simply because he refused to open up his nation to the wholesale r.ape and pillage of his natural resources by foreign multinationals

it is immoral to fund, arm and train a group of known criminals who have even killed your own soldiers in iraq and afghanistan in order to destabilise a sovereign nation and overthrow its head of state.

it is immoral to steal billions of dollars lodged in foreign accounts belonging to a sovereign nation in order to fund your illegal war against this same nation.

I would really love you to explain to me why in your mind all of the above are based on racism and ignorance.

I hope we all get this things, iran does exploration by its self, refines the oil by itself, and ships the oil by itself with iranian ship,Nigeria imports refined oil ,foreign ship operate over there and the refineries mya never work.
exactly, libya also refines its own oil, you can see that due to the fact that both of these countries have a great level of control over their oil exports they are targetted by the US and labelled - "rogue" countries by the west.

What the hell has this got to do with what I said? And are these thugs the same people receiving his bombs in Misrata? I see your entire comprehension is still based on the premise of the 'west is evil' from your location in the west.

Open that box you live in a little wider and you will find that I have made no such claim.
it has everything to do with what you said because you are still repeating that same line about gadaffi killing his own people without pointing out that these people that he is killing  are armed thugs who are committing treason.  I wonder what you expect him to do, wait for them to overthrow him.

the civillians in misurata have been caught int he crossfire between pro gadaffi forces and these al qaeda thugs, how come you are not expressing any indignation over the black africans who have been lynched by these same al qaeda thugs, are you aware that you would be a marked man if you were in the eastern region of libya right now?

keep up your myopic defence of supporting evil.

This has nothing to do with propaganda. Why can't you people just forget the west for one moment in your life and think. Must your entire ideology revolve around the West?

And yes democracy is the best form of government that exists.
you dont even understand the meaning of democracy - democracy is govt for the people by the people - libya operates a  jamahiriya which means a govt of the masses for the masses, gadaffi abolished the rights of landlords to charge rent for their properties this means that everyone in libya owns their own home, no-one is held to ransom by shylock private landlords or banks as is the case in the western nations, there are no homeless people in libya, do you prefer that the libyan people adopt what you myopically think is democracy - you live in democratic nigeria where 80% of the population live on less than $2 a day, whereas libyans henjoy the highest standard of living in the whole of africa, you live in so called democratic nigeria  where life expectancy is 48 yrs  whereas life expectancy in libya is 74 years, it makes me wonder how you can even criticise libya when your own so called democratic nation is in such a shambles.

Ghadaffi is murdering his own people and you are saying he is winning against the EU/US? Is that because every Libyan death makes EU/US weaker? How very interesting. Your version of 'winning' is very interesting.

https://arthropoda.southernfriedscience.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/facepalm.jpg
your way of reasoning defies comprehension - so you expect gadaffi to allow a group of thugs and criminals to overrun libya? thugs who are hanging black african people from lamposts - are these the people you feel are worthy of protection?

by the way if we want to talk about libyan deaths - do you save lives by dropping 120 tomahawk missiles on the same people you claim you are saving? give me a break!

thats because we have paid up political prost.itutes as leaders, notice how the nigerian govt goes along with everything the imperialist america and britain tell it to do without any objection. Gadaffi is only catching all this hell because he fought to get a good deal for his people, this is why i dont even bother with these elections because they are going to be rigged - the winner has already been decided by the US/UK and that winner is going to be someone who is willing to keep towing the line of washington/london dictated economic policies that are killing the nigerian people, the cowards we have running for office can never and will never develop nigeria and make it a place worth living in for the ordinary man.

That why the west was calling for a "no drive zone" lol!!!
those rebels are scum and they will get their come uppance, notice how the US is frightened of arming them because they know it will be a repetition of what happened in afghanistan with osama bin laden, they have no credibility and if not for the air cover they are being given by the imperialist scum of america, britain and france they would have been history by now, let them and their fellow criminal collaborators keep salivating about libya's vast oil wealth they should be prepared to die because gadaffi is no pushover.

if you want to be truly independent you've got to have the stomach to fight, the US settlers fought to rid themselves from the yoke of british colonialism, are nigrerians even aware that they are still under neo colonial rule? theres no point talking about learning to sprint when you havent even learnt how to crawl.

"We are examining very closely the content, composition, the personalities, who are the leaders of these opposition forces," Admiral Stavridis said in testimony yesterday to the US Senate.
While the opposition's leadership appeared to be "responsible men and women" fighting the Gaddafi regime, Admiral Stavridis said, "we have seen
flickers in the intelligence of potential al Qaeda, Hizbollah, we've seen different things."
"But at this point I don't have detail sufficient to say there is a significant al-Qaeda presence or any other terrorist presence," he added.

Attn: Mr Cap28 the line in bold is also from the link you provided.

But we digress -

I have been asking; what is your stand in all of this?
Does it make sense to you that the US govt along with other europeans nations would committ millions of dollars into fighting a war in collaboration with a group of people whose identity they are still unsure of?  does that even make sense to you?

would world powers like america and britain just take a chance backing, funding and training a group of people they didnt really know anything about?

okay perhaps this might clarify things for you a bit more - the commander of the Libyan rebels Mr al Hasidi happens to be an ex guantanamo bay POW captured by the US army while fighting AGAINST THE US in Afghanistan in 2002 here is an excerpt of an interview with him in the daily telegraph:

In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Mr al-Hasidi admitted that he had recruited "around 25" men from the Derna area in eastern Libya to fight against coalition troops in Iraq. Some of them, he said, are "today are on the front lines in Adjabiya".

His revelations came even as Idriss Deby Itno, Chad's president, said al-Qaeda had managed to pillage military arsenals in the Libyan rebel zone and acquired arms, "including surface-to-air missiles, which were then smuggled into their sanctuaries".

Mr al-Hasidi admitted he had earlier fought against "the foreign invasion" in Afghanistan, before being "captured in 2002 in Peshwar, in Pakistan". He was later handed over to the US, and then held in Libya before being released in 2008.

US and British government sources said Mr al-Hasidi was a member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, or LIFG, which killed dozens of Libyan troops in guerrilla attacks around Derna and Benghazi in 1995 and 1996.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8407047/Libyan-rebel-commander-admits-his-fighters-have-al-Qaeda-links.html
my stand on this remains the same  this is not a humanitrian intervention by america, france and the EU this is a neo colonial invasion with the long term goal of appropriating libya's oil reserves, however this time america and the EU are using al qaeda as their ground troops to effect the ground war which is obviously not going according to plan.

2 muchlogic one thing i'd just like to point out is that in order to really get a people motivated you have to change the way they think, the current crop of african kids coming up have all been brainwashed by western values, if we are looking at developing the nation we have to start with changing the mindset of these youths - china had a cultural revolution and i beleive this is what gave the current generation of chinese people the confidence to become what they are today, shouldnt there be more of an emphasis on educating the upcoming young minds and weaning them off this western cultural value system which has been instilled in them through the western media.

Cowards and sycophants  like you are really bringing Africa down.
Listen dumbass ive been humouring your infantile rantings but you are now beginning to irritate me,  - intelligent people do not rely on only one source of information when trying to establish what is going on in the world, do you expect me to try and engage in a conversation with someone like you who only relies on the BBC, CNN and al jazeera do you realise  just how ridiculous you sound?

There was no revolutionary movement in libya the situation in libya is completely different from what happened in egypt and tunisia why are you having difficulty understanding this simple fact, in libya what you had were armed marauding gangs of al qaeda operatives who mounted an armed  insurrection against a legitimate govt, what did you expect gadaffi to do - invite them over for tea?  What happens to failed coup plotters in nigeria? are they invited over to aso rock to engage in dialogue with the govt or are they lined up against the wall and shot in the back of the head?

The no fly zone implemented over libya was granted on the basis of lies and fabrications in order to justify america, france and britain's objective of interevening in libya in order to overthrow gadaffi, five UN security council members were so oppposed to it that they abstained from voting in favour of it (China, Russia, Brazil, Germany and india) this is why 3 african pawns (nigeria, gabon and south africa) had to be brought in to secure the required number of votes.    I repeat there is no evidence that gadaffi ever fired on unarmed protesters and this has been corroborated by the russian military and even the US defence secretary robert gates.
unless you are privy to confidential information that proves otherwise i suggest you stop talking out of your back passage.

you sound totally clueless and therefore i am wasting my time even trying to engage with you, with regard to your last comment about the woman who claimed to have been ra.ped by gadaffi's forces if you are clever enough try and research the story of the kuwaiti incubator babies in 1991 which was used as a justification by the US to invade iraq, perhaps when you find out the background of that story and how it was used by the western media to get backing for a US ground invasion into iraq then you might be able to understand what is actually going on until then, i woudl advise you to keep your mouth firmly shut until you have something intelligent to say.

Now i can see that you are deliberately  running  away from the truth.

OK, if you claim Gadaffi did not kill any one in Lybia, why is he ressisting the revolution after 40 years in power.

The same revolution took place in Algeria and Egypt, an there are accounts of govt troops killing their people.

I watch Gadaffi and his son Salim speak on Ajazerra , CNN and BBC, and they never denied killing their people.

Those people you call rebels were actually Lybian citizens , they do not even know how to use the weapon they have. but they have to fight for their souls.

Before you start defending those TYRANTS, try put your self in shoes of those suffering people.
which revolution took place in libya? so in your mind a group of criminals carrying guns equates to a revolutionary movement?.

at no point did Gadaffi and his sons admit to killing innocent civillians - that is purely a figment of your imagination, Gadaffi has merely been trying to defend himself and his regime from these dangerous al qaeda thugs who are trying to overthrow his regime - please try and get it right my friend.

You say they dont know how to use their weapons - thats funny cos they've been doing a very good job massacring a lot of black africans:

Ghadaffi, Gbagbo and the likes didn't just acquire their tyrant/dictator status in the recent events that took place.  They have always been seen as such from the get go and the fact that western governments did "business" with them didn't make them less of tyrants.

Where is your stand in all of this? Any observer of international politics will easily see that countries usually act first in accordance with their self interests but would you rather that said atrocities continue unchecked?
which atrocities are you talking about?  if its the ones in libya - i hope you know that it has now been proven that gadaffi did not shoot on unarmed protesters as was claimed by the western press.

These so called libyan  rebels who you seem intent on defending were actually raiding police and army depots for guns and ammunition they also killed a lot of gadaffi's police and soldiers, would you have preferred that gadaffi sit back and allow them to carry on with that?

or perhaps gadaffi should have allowed these criminals to rampage their way into tripoli where they would have massacred thousands of people including blacks africans who they have been targetting since this their so called revolt started.

just in case you missed it these rebels that you are defending  have been carrying out mass lynchings of black africans including nigerians - anyone with black skin caught in the eastern region of libya at this point in time is a marked man or woman - do these sound like innocent protesters interested in freedom and democracy?

if you are still clinging to that lame beleif that america and france intervened in libya and ivory coast in order to stop atrocities then i dont know what more to say to you.

you should ask yourself why america hasnt said a word about the deployment of saudi police to bahrain to shoot protesters there, they also seem to be mysteriously silent over the killings of protesters by the yemeni police.

also if france was so interested in protecting civillian lives why were they shelling a densley populated city like abidjan from the air and why were they standing by watching ouattara's milita massacre hundreds of ivoriens in abidjan?

my stand on  this remains the same - america has no business being in libya, france has no business being in ivory coast - both nations are only in those countries for their respective selfish economic interests not to protect civillian lives.

A man who is fighting an inner battle with himslef is one who truly hates himself. He does not understand his position in  equilibrium with the world or nature.  he laccepts labels and affiliations that make him feel self worth when in reality he is no one and is in desperate need of power to satisfy his ego and desire to control his own destiny.

I will not be bamboozled by the likes of you. You are many that speak the same tongue but you are not free. You are still slaves.

Morpheus says :Everything that has a beginning has an end Cap28.
where do you get all this drivel from, how does fighting an inner battle with oneself equate to self hatred in your book, most normal people constantly experience inner battles it is all part of enlightenment - human beings are not static creatures they are dynamic and in seeking knowledge, internal turmoil becomes part of the growth process,  unless of course they are like you in which case they remain stagnant or regressive.

in your own case you are stagnant because you are so afraid of loosing your material comforts, thats why you cant even stand up for the truth, you prefer to bow down and kiss your white slave masters arse and then pretend as if you are just being realistic and practical - unfortunately for you i see thru your bull.sh.it   -you are mentally enslaved, you see yourself as being unworthy and inferior to the white man - thats why you accept his abuse and degradation of your own people unquestioningly, you are mentally in chains you are ashamed of your race and your culture, i cant think of a worse mental state than that, you see nothign good in your own race and people, you make excuses for all manner of atrocities meted out on you by people who enslaved your ancestors and still treat you as a member of an inferior race and yet you have the audacity to call me a slave - hahahahahaha

You really think the above garners you any credibility.

Who makes the food you eat? Eh those kebabs don't come from Africa do they?

Who supplies heating to your 400sq feet flat. Don't think its Nepa is it?

Who do you pay your 40% tax rates to? Definitely not Ghadaffi

Pot calling kettle black.

Morpheus says: Come on stop trying to hit me and HIT ME!
You i.diot my location has nothing to do with who i am and what i belieive in, cant you get that thru your thick skull, you are in africa and yet look at how you reason, you defend an imperialist intervention of a sovereign state, you defend the fact that these same imperialists stand by and watch Ouattara and his goons, mow down innocent men women and children, and gang ra.pe women in front of their husbands - are you normal at all!!!!!

Where are you leading us too. That fictitious utopia where all black people are free of the opressor and living in harmony with one another under the umberalla a unified black race.

Wolfs in sheeps clothing is worse than the blind leading the blind.

Decipher that!!
someone should drop you out of a plane into the mayhem and chaos that is currently underway in ivory coast, perhaps when you witness the gang rap.es, the slitting of throats of old people, the stench of rotting human flesh on the streets , your brain will kick into action - s.tupi.d coward.

I don't see why some people don't get it, as in why they are using the imperialism theory to justify the actions of a brutal dictator who had not only refused to conduct elections since 2005 but had also killed hundreds of Ivoriens who dared to publicly criticize him. Some of these people are even saying that Ouattara's victory will not please the minority that voted for Gbagbo. That argument misses the point. They forget that  essence of any election is to sit the candidate who earns the majority vote. These people have also failed to offer an alternative.

Their argument would be the equivalent of a hypothetical Nigerian election where a candidate, say Buhari, wins a free and fair election with 60% of votes, while Jonathan earns 40% of the votes. Further, that because 40% of the candidates who supported Jonathan in this hypothetical election would be displeased at Buhari's victory, Jonathan as the incumbent should now cancel the entire election, hold the entire country hostage, kill any public supporter of the opposition, and cause a de facto civil war rather than handover peacefully. All Gbagbo had to do was to handover to the winner of a free and fair election.

Even assuming for argument sake that the election was rigged in favor of Ouattara, which we all know not to be the case, the right thing to do was to handover and challenge the results of the election in court. The executive should not unilaterally refuse to cede power to the purported winner of the election. And judging by Gbagbo's track record of failing to hold elections since 2005, it is hard to give any thing this man says any weight, as he has behaved like a Ghadafi-like dictator who wants to cling unto power at all cost.
Its funny how you refer to a similar situation happening in nigeria when it has already happened - have you forgotten June 12 1993?  did IBB not annull the election and transfer power to abacha in complete disregard of the wishes of the nigerian people, can you explain why the west did not intervene then to restore MKO to his rightful position?  didnt IBB hold nigerian to ransom? wasnt there wides scale violence and killing of many of MKO's supporters by the police and military?  IBB unilaterally annulled an election , did anything happen to him, did the west send UN troops to bomb him out of the presidential palace.

the problem with people liek you is that you cant think critically, learn to understand situations holistically instead of accepting western propaganda - a US senator is going on record to say that there was massive electoral fraud and that ouattara did not win the presidential elections , listen to him describing how ouattara's trooped lined up men women and children against the wall and put bullets in their heads, listen to how women were gang raped and had their throats cut by ouattara's troops, listen to how foreign UN troops cried when they saw the brutallity meted out by ouattara's troops to   young men women and children :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3pUE9_Syg0&NR=1

the senator puts it very poignantly when he says noone cares about sub saharan africa.
