BluntNigerian: Once NIN is functional,, there is no need for all the others.. And therefore, there shouldn't be need for multiple registrations again.. Just provide your NIN, and your data get registered already, including the Biometrics. Very correct .i think that is what they are trying to do now. |

molybdenum0012: Of course it should stop them. Law will be made banning recycling of phone numbers. Even if you have lost your sim card for 5 years, you will still be able to retrieve it since your details is still there. Only that a heavy fine may be charged.
This is one of the reasons Nigerians are banned from entering the US. If this is achieved, it will improve our security and citizens identification. you are very correct. number is infinite. recycling phone numbers is meaningless. phone number should be another form of identity. it should be permanent for the owner. just like bank account number, it should be permanent. |

Dtruthspeaker: Yet, Yahoo Yahoo will still thrive, kidnappers will still not be caught, govt and institutionalized Stealing will still be perpetrated, all these will not stop but the lives of the ordinary folk will get harder.
If 2020 was bad, then more wailings and insecurity should be expected in 2021. If nin is fully implemented, kidnapping may reduce. Internet fraud may reduce at least locally but robberies and other form of stealing may increase. Next thing government will do is to force all public facilities like hotels and schools to have CCTV installed. |

justosee: Yahoo boys do have foreign numbers. will you also link those to your NIN Yahoo guys are not only criminals in the country. There are also kidnappers and local fraudsters. For yahoo with foreigners, I could not say much. Different nations have regulations for obtaining mobile lines.Through inter-governmental relationships and diplomacy , they can be traced. But some nations like Nigeria have many loopholes in the system to get SIM cards without proper registration. Do you know that some Yahoo guys cannot travel to certain countries because they would arrest them. Many are already on watchlist of security agencies over there. |

So which security is there? now all your mobile lines will be linked with NIN. digital trace of criminal will be more easier. next thing is e-mail addresses will be linked to nin or passport on case of foreigners. |

Politics › Re: Anthony Sani Attacks Nnamdi Kanu Over Creation Of Eastern Security Network by capitalzero: 8:25pm On Dec 16, 2020 |
privaldo: The immediate past Secretary-General of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Anthony Sani, has said he is not in support of regional outfits such as Amotekun in the South-West and the recently launched Eastern Security Network for the South-East.
Sani noted that what Nigeria needed to tackle insecurity was to empower the police by way of expansion of the workforce, training, equipment and motivation by salary increment – and not by creating regional outfits.
The ACF chief noted that northerners living in the South-South and South-East regions of the country would not be threatened by the creation of the Eastern Security Network created by the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Kanu had, on Saturday, launched the regional outfit via a live Facebook broadcast, which he explained, was necessitated by the current security situation in major parts of the country.
"He said the objective of the security network is to protect the regions from “Fulani criminal activities.”
According to the IPOB leader, the outfit is a replica of Amotekun launched by the South-West governors to curb insecurity in the region.
Speaking to SaharaReporters on Tuesday, Sani described Kanu as unfit to launch a security network.
He said, “This Kanu of the IPOB we are talking about; who is he to even launch a security outfit? What is his stand in the South-South and South-East? His group has been banned. He has run away, and he is afraid of coming to Nigeria, and you are saying he is announcing a security outfit. “To announce and operate where he is? The security outfit can’t even be implemented because he is not in Nigeria. So how can we be threatened by someone who is somewhere else and claiming he has an outfit in Nigeria?”
Speaking further, the Ex-ACF scribe said the police should be reformed by way of having enough number of adequately trained and properly equipped personnel to enable them to live up their mandate.
He added, “The problem of this country is the inadequate number of trained policemen who are well equipped. Other security outfits are also not well equipped; the numbers are not enough; they are not well trained; do you think they will perform magic?
“I am not really in favour of all these regional outfits. I am more towards empowering the police by way of number; who are well trained, equipped and well-motivated by way of salary allowance and logistics to secure the country.
“The issue is not the multiplication of security outfits but poor funding; ill equipping of those available.”

thatigboman: I want to create this post in order to disabuse the minds of nairalanders on the misconceptions about much-talked about igbo bride prices. Contrary to the belief that igbo bride prices run into millions, the bride prices are usually a token. In my hometown in Arondizuogu, Imo State, it is about N200.
The misconception arises from the list given to family of the intending groom. That list is far different from the bride price. Different people in igboland give different lists in igboland for the different groups in the village they come to marry - the daughters of the family (my 2 year old children get their shares in my place), the women, the youths and the elders. And there are options. You either bring the items or bring the money. Example, u can go to a community and they ask you to bring 10 big yams, another can ask for 20 kegs of palm wine, others can ask for coconut. And youths in my place must ask for a roll of cigarettes, benson or rothmas. And the groom has an option, either to buy them and bring according to specifications or just drop money.
Buying the items usually bring problem. U can buy 10 big yams, and they tell u that it is only 2 that are big, you have to pay for the other 8 'small ones'. U can buy Life and Hero drinks, and they say no, one must be Star, so some people will prefer to pay cash and will be taxed heavily. All in all, all the issues will be settled, so no worries.
let other igbos and other nairalanders contribute. It makes sense |

joyandfaith: Reasons why some people see ghosts or strange things 1. Side effects of hallucinogens- some drugs and herbs have hallucinogenic potentials. The effect depends on your subconscious mind. 2.Demonic effects. If you are spiritually connected to spiritual world through occultism, you would see demons and ghosts. 3. Mental illness I agree with 1 and 3. Demonism, drug and occultism are closely related. |
