indoorlove: Nigeria is in perpectual darkness that can only be brought to light by her youth- how many of us (the youth) is/are ready to match to national assembly to make our grieviances known, How many of us will vote someone who does not have a direct influence on us and does nt belong to thesame tribe as ours. Stop putting the whole blame on the leaders(though they have their own fair share of the problem) but followers(mostly youth) should also be blame because a larger percentage of us have limited our responsibilities to complains and prayers . Sad!
why dont we all match down in one voice to the National Assembly . . . .calling 4 the downfall of the regime! Lets #occupyNIgeria

andrewza: Thing is even if nigeria gives up power it will mean nothing. Do you think Nigeria will let let's say Ghana order her troops around.
well i know dats true, bt atleast the boast of being part of the decision making process! And the can also have a say in economic matters, because am quiet sure that there are probably better economic ideas that would be initiated to the bloc bt is shut down due to nigerian excessive domination. . . . Just as world powers domination of military missions in UN.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Capnd143(m): 8:05pm On Mar 23, 2013
andrewza: Why.
well to me! NIGERIA ALREADY HAS MORE POLITICAL,ECONOMIC AND MILITARY influence than any ecowas nation, so it wouldnt be a big deal if we gave other ecowas nation a sense of leadership and more participation in the decision making process. Imagine . . If nigeria should oppose a motion. That means the motion is automaticaly no go area! As much as it makes us feel powerful but the others should have more powers too . . . .

NIGERIA OVER THE YEARs has shown no interest in leadership on AU bt rather, its more interested in influence . . . I guess that should be applied in the ecowas situation since it already ganers garguantuos influence. . . .just my opinion though.

souldust: just a bit curious andrewza, if you attended a military academy with a naval staff from another country who became a close friend during your course of study, would you kill such a friend if war breaks out between SA and his country?

@capnd and @Nigerians, you mean naija has 35 reps in ECOWAS? Doesnt that give us a sweeping power? Is it fair? Wont the other countries feel too left out? Why should Naija hold that much power in the first place? No matter the factor that allows us to posses that much power, cant we just willingly relinquish some so as to make others more involved? I know the human being would like to posses as much power as he can get but i believe we can show the world a new way to go.
well its because Nigerians are the founding fathers, the most active, and the provide bulk of the financial requirement! Thats y other nation willingly accepted nigeria occupying 35 seats in the ecowas so its decision with a few support is virtually Final . . .!!
But i think the should relinquish some positions though.

andrewza: What you talking about. Who said they can't attack more than one target. You where talking about missiels and anti submarin warfare, I though you had gon all crazy and though NN had anti submarine stand off wepaons.

Simpile fact is no sub shara Navy has any really Anti sub marine force and those that do never train with them (when the last time NN had a exersize with a sub) only a few north african navys actualy pressent a threat.
And south africa, where one of our type 209s desstroyed a NATO task force.

You really don't under stand Naval warfare or anti submarine warfare do you.
and this sent me to second round of 'smiles'. . . .
So you really think your type 209 sub can take out our SBS Manned anti-subs enhance warships? And who said we aint got anti-sub exercise? The nigerian SBS are trained by Us marines and british SBS on all marine war tacties and use of weaponry under $billion dollars training agreement!
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Capnd143(m): 10:30am On Mar 22, 2013
andrewza: Dose thunder have anti sub missiels. I know it has place for torpedos but missiels.

And yes 1 type 209 would sluater NNS thunder. 1 type 209 took out a entire NATO ASW task force in a war game.
the NNS-THUNDER Is fitted with anti-sub torpedoes, with it goes aircraft borne anti-sub warfare helicopters, the missiles are borne by the regular chopter that goes along side the thunder, since your sub cant engage multiple targest it will be impossible to target, engage dismount/destroy the two aircraft and F89 at ones, so it wil be knocked out from air, and funny enough you said all sub saharan warships . . . . Hahahahaha. . . .now that realy got me smiling . , . . As if all those ship will wait and hail the arrival of the Type 209 sub while it destroys it! Hahahahahaha, you realy have been engage in imaginary war games

Are the yorubas, ibibios, efik, even some christian hausas not killed too? The targeted the ibgo becos the are dominantly christians(catholics) in the guise to tear the country along ethno-religious lines! And these post of yours only tells them "bravo! You have won! You have turn them against us! Now war breaks out, the turn the country into another somalia, afghanistan or northern mali. . . . Its that what you want? If not please kindly 4get the civil war, we blindly fought and loose!

andrewza: we never siad ecomog would not support Nigeria. only that in a naval battel 1 type 209 sub could take on every war ship in subshara africa throw in a secondand it is every warship in africa.

No one has said we could invade Nigeria the civlian popultion alone is just to big.

but it dose not chage the facts. The SANDF is a better force.
with this bolded i guess you have never heard of Mk.45 borne and Rum-139 anti-submarine missiles? And you probably dont know that the NNS-THUNDER(F89) can engage effectively any submarine in an anti-sub warfare given its anti-sub capabilities(please, do check wikipedia if your doubt me) , and i also guess you have not heard of anti-submarine warfare helicopters operated by nigerian armed forces! 1 TYPE 209 SUB cant take down NNS- thunder if supported with its anti-subs aircraftborne missiles . . . . .

All'ya SA guys ranting about SA defense pact and the obseleteness of nigeria's pact . . . I guess you dont have an idea of the PMAD AGREMENENT- which says the joint Ecocomic community of west africa troops shall engage any aggressor from outside the Ecowas bloc on the event of attack or threat to attack on a member of the ecowas bloc, if peace deal have been rejected by the aggressor. That the Ecowas nation states will act on the military interest of its member states in the UN If urgent needs arises. That the Ecowas will utilize it non-ecowas ally to mount pressure on the aggressor etc . . .
-----
" and for these decision to be taken which will amount a joint regional combat, that a minimum majority is required in emergency cases.!!
of all the members of the ecowas nigeria has 35 representatives against 4, 5 and maximum of 6 from other states, so its quite easy to get a minimum majority which will amount a deployment of ecomog troops for defense of member territory!! And it will be some ward hard for a country like SA FAR OUt in the south to gain entry into west african soil, air or water given that the ecowas member nations will rejects such activites, trying to block water trade routes by SA NAVY Will only cause more need for ecomog deployment as the sea routes are also a major trading route for other ecowas nations, flying or transporting on land will also meet its dificulties given nigerias geographical position . . .. Why the Bleep did you think we deployed our troops and wasted hard earned money in serria leone, liberia, what the f.uck did you think make us deploy troops and gave financial support mali, given our escalating security situation? Well war with SA Will just amount to wastage of life and property on both sides, because believe me you the type of peeps we have up north nigeria will rather Accept to die while commiting a suicide mission that kills hundreds of SA than go back home alive, the type of peeps that we have up east would do anything to manufacture advanced weaponry and warships if there is a treat to their existence(biafran war is a good example), the type of peeps that we have up west are the type who would spend their last kobo and return en mass from the diaspora to fight even it means hand to hand whenever there is a trace of problem, the type of peeps that we have down south are the type who have high illegal military connections with russia and the likes, who would rather sleep in bushes to kill every threat to their oil wealth than live alive in peace(the niger delta militants is and example) . . . Beware . . . . . . . . .

^^^Interesting post. smiley

So as an Akwa Ibom man, you would -in all good conscience- join Hausa/Fulani and fight to keep Igbos back in Nigeria?.....given all you know? I can understand a core northerner saying this, but certainly not an Akwa Ibom man.

Mind you we are not talking of a scenario where Ndigbo would wake up one morning and say "fuc/k it....we ain't Nigerians anymore"; rather we are talking of the end result of a process that would have taken us to the UN and gotten a referendum of which the result would be an overwhelming support for an Independent 'IGBO' nation, but with 'Nigeria' still refusing to recognize our right to leave.......in such a scenario, you would join to fight for 'one Nigeria', is that what you're saying?
i guess you could use and iphone app to track my location! Am a typical eyen akwa ibom, amana isong ayu akwa ibom! Am not saying i would join person muslims! Bt if the need arises the FG WOULD HAVE TO declare war on the ibgo, thus i am a loyal citizen of this nation, as a soldier who is supposed to follow others, i would fight to the death to counter any treat of civil war, even if it means sacrificing my life 4 the national interest, nigeria cant afford to fight a civil war, and any group emphasizing the need for one should be treated as an enemy of the state, terrorist, and a group whose idealogies is inimical to national growth and development!
