Quaddafi29: Most wives of today used to be paid for sex yesterday and the transition to free givers doesn't come easy for them. Start paying token in gifts and cash and watch ur wife spread them wider Exactly. They're used to transactional sex. Only in Nigeria do you see females who feel its a duty not an obligation for their boyfriends to be 'giving'. They carry that mentality into marriage. |

Klass99: I am not married but I thought it would be nice to read from married women to know or understand why this occurs. It might help some married men self reflect and self correct where needed, if a particular situation applies to them. For example if it's poor hygiene, selfish or poor performance in bed, not providing, etc............ I am just speculating.
I followed Gaggii's thread on this same issue/topic, it was one of the most educating and entertaining threads I have come across on NL. It was delightful to see grown men being candid and vulnerable about their realities. I laughed hard at some comments, shook my head at comments from oversabi and ITK men, who aren't even married and one comment in particular broke my heart. See comment below;
Even though the user is a complete stranger I felt bad reading this, especially the words in bold. I think as women we underestimate how much men would really like to feel appreciated, complimented and loved (even if it's through sex). There were valuable lessons from Gaggii's thread and I appreciate the education in male psychology it provided me. A similar education (in female psychology) from married women, for men, would be appropriate. Let's learn from each other, but, I understand why some women may be reluctant to participate/share. The trolling, bullying and insults on the forum can be something else, especially towards women. Link to the thread pls |

koondog: If you have sense you will know that the same dynamics you see in Onitsha, is same in Lagos and other major towns where Igbos are present like Nnewi, Aba, Asaba, Calabar, Kaduna, Kano, Maiduguri, Markudi, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Minna, e.t.c. You won't see such commercial activity in Osun, Ondo, Ogun and Ekiti because Igbos are not there. So, Lagos is not driven by Yorubas.

NaBanga: I'm just going to be honest with you, there is a high chance you will end up divorced if you are the lazy type. What we call work in Nigeria is the reason the country is not working. If you go 3 months without bringing in money while your wife, is working, you are going to regret the day you left Nigeria. Women are not made to take care of men.By the time your wife is working, trying to clean house and take care of the children in between, you will become her enemy. She will then realize you are not needed and that her life is much better with only the kids. Work and bring money for bills at all costs. Talk to your friends about childcare that will help your wife. Also, be thinking of a course that you can take that will make money in the UK. I wish you the very best and pray your marriage makes it. Op,listen to this man |
