Family / The Effect Of Nigeria Bad Economy In Marriages And Relationships by carpdiemz: 1:36pm On Jul 30, 2020
A lot has been going through my mind lately and I think it’s would be nice to share my take on this subject; with my social observations I noticed recently that there are a lot of single women all of over the states in Nigeria and lots of single mothers too.

Let start with single ladies :

have been on different social media and met a lot of girls on there and I can say it boldly that 90 percent of them are loookg for a guy to settle down with , with my observations about Nigeria men , some actually want to settle down ,but the economy situation can be very frustrating making the men to look like a player to some girls and this same issue has leads to so many baby mamas all around the states in Nigeria and it’s becoming a phenomenon just like the western countries, and I still think 40 percent of all this lies in the effect of bad economy , you can easily advised a man to settle down with little money but my dear yuh not the one that will be there when the struggle starts with more hardship and especially if the woman you get married to does not consider the economy situation and keeps giving birth to more children or don’t want to support .

Feel free to give your own view about this subject thanks

U are on point but,Nigeria is a land of opportunity only if u have from 10million and above even 5million can set-up to see those opportunities. I still see Nigeria as the only tax haven country in Africa.

You are right but I don’t want to sound negative but let me leave these here.....

Getting 10 million in Nigeria is not easy and 5 million, even 1 million not easy either, the problem with Nigeria is that we have stupid government policies that can make someone that invested 10million naira on a business to return to zero and still be in debt an example is the cancelling of Motocycles in Lagos recently which affected O pay do you know how much money the company loose? and I’m hearing they are planning to get them back on road ... nothing is certain in Nigeria , u can be up today and rerun to zero tomorrow always prepare for the worse if You plan to stay here. Other African countries don’t just change policies the way Nigeria do, it’s all wickedness, a politician can decide to withdraw some organizations license just bcuz one of his girlfriend is about to open same business ;lots of uncertainties .

This is not always the case for immigrants, especially the ones of coming from Africa. There is a minimum wage system in most developed country, meaning no matter what you do, you can not earn below certain amount of money. These wages are put in place with consideration to cost of living, i.e housing, transport, feeding, taxation etc. Most minimum wages are livable wages, you can survive and live comfortably if you live according to your means.

Most Diasporans who come back home only do so because they do not see themselves doing these minimum wage paying jobs. e.g your cousin with a master degree wouldn't want to work as a security or sales associate at a store. Depending on ones course of study, grades, age, past work experience, not every diasporan will get the career of their choice. As long as you are able and willing to work and spend according to your means, you won't suffer.

Don’t mind the op , if your uncle could go for his master degree in Australia it means you guys are from rich homes , schooling in Australia is no beans , and with the part that he came back home ; your uncle came back home bcuz he has family money or someone to fall back too , Australia is better than USA and better than some of the countries Nigerians always go for , talk of jobs there many jobs there with good pay , why won’t u pay tax are u in Nigeria ? Where u don’t pay tax , even Nigerians in Australia don’t want anyone to come and spoil it for them it’s a virgin land , pls stop deceiving people , u want to compare the standard of living in Australia to someone who has millions in Nigeria grin life span is very low here , and talk of money u can’t beat the exchange rate , how many jobs are here in Nigeria , when people say Nigeria is a land of opportunities I laugh , if you don’t have anyone to give u that opportunity my dear u will get old . Living a better life abroad is better than having millions in Nigeria and to get the millions it’s like dreaming

How do you expect people to cope till FURTHER NOTICE? Rivers State is a volatile state no matter how any one choose to look at it, they're more guns in the hands of cultists in Rivers State than any other state in Nigeria and you shut the state down.

This is just a big disaster. We really need to start voting in leaders that think critically in this country.

Indeed, the present government is an epitome of failure, failed promises and dashed expectations of most Nigerians. To think of the support and hopes most Nigerians had in PMB back in 2015. The smiling, docile angel became a demonic and cold hearted tyrant once he got what he wanted...

Moral Lesson: In life , you only know someone's true nature once they've gotten what they want from you, especially when it involves granting them access to power which is most times intoxicating...

your response to that delusional university slowpoke who thinks he is superior to poly graduates cuts it for me. I hate to come across people riding on their high horses when in reality the are empty scumbags- no top money, no connects, no notable achievement, no gift or talent; just a hollow skull and a loose tongue.

Forget the messed up educational system we operate here in Nigeria coupled with unpopular government policies. The university tertiary system is not supposed to be superior to that of the polytechnic, at least that's what's obtainable in saner climes.

Both systems are totally different and most importantly complement each other.

OP. even you have discriminated against polytechnics people because I'm very sure you have met countless poly girls but chose to go for a university graduate with masters sef.

No poly guy or girl wants to marry a polytechnic leaver yet you guys are the first people who complain about discrimination. Same discrimination you poly leavers are guilty of

My advice to the OP is to look for a fellow polytechnic girl and date as that girl he is chasing is way beyond his level in all ramifications.

Graduating from a polytechnic doesn’t make one to be dumb , I graduated from one of the best polytechnic in south west , You have to be very high up to beat my standard of education if you graduated from any of the glorified university in Nigeria , I study beyond my environment , it’s all about self development.... back to the subject; the guy should double up his hussle cuz all I can see here is a social class issue , if with that hnd he works at shell or dangote as a top staff , going to the girls house with a latest Mercedes Benz the story would have been different.
