trendingnigeria:As for you get a proper job and stop trying to inflame tensions by seeking to keep this thread going on the hopes of navigating people to your dead YouTube channel. Thankfully I had seen the old story on Twitter and did not go to your YouTube channel. People like you are parasites!!! |
studyless123:Watching the Dapo Segun interview , you get the impression of an institution that feels resigned that nothing they say will be believed by the public so they seem to feel it’s a waste of time. |
ufotunang:If you watch the video, his calculations were actually based on N1600 a dollar and 160 liters of PMS per barrel. He said this is the global standard and is the same at any refinery in the world. $80 a barrel x N1600 divide by 160 liters per barrel. The raw material cost is N800 /litter before refining |
Ezewuzie01:It is not propaganda. The old PH refinery was not designed to produce the quality of PMS what is used in modern car engines. It was designed in 1965 and the octane rating it produces is suitable only for the Peugeot 504s and beetles that we drove in those days. I made a post yesterday regarding my apprehension because an old MD of the refinery had said a few months ago that the old refinery can only produce diesel and kerosene etc. It now appears that what they have done is to add an additional blending process or unit to take the old style PMS which is actually produced at the refinery add the C5 in order the raise the octane rating of the petrol to that which is acceptable for modern engines. The misinformation is borne out of ignorance, doomsayers and a failure of NNPC to get its PR machinery working. I understand the mistrust of Nigerians to anything NNPC, even I made sure I watched the livestream because of what the former MD had said. I sincerely believe they are actually producing PMS but they have to add a cracker to make the PMS up to spec because the refinery was not designed to produce modern high octane PMS. Oh and by the way, the NNPC CFO was on channels, he shed light on many things , the equivalent cost of raw crude per liter is N800 before refining, add overheads, transport, regulatory fees, profit margin etc. The point is at the current exchange rate the equivalent cost of the raw crude that is refined into become PMS works out at an input cost of N800/ liter of peteol , that’s the price all over the world, those expecting price to fall should take note. If you watch channels instead of arise, you will be more informed. They have bettter quality guests. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgdaXoWxT8E?feature=shared https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIHkuPfjnoA?feature=shared |
DesChyko:Ordinary tax bill they are running helter skelter and you are talking about resource control! If you are discerning, Tinubu is gradually restructuring the country by stealth. |
Djoel:Only a child likely a baastard child, an unwanted child, an accident of unprotected sex, a rejected outcast who did not have the benefit of interaction with either a stable family or extended family members will spew the nonsense above. No child raised in Nigeria by good parents would speak like this because there is no culture in Nigeria where it is acceptable to speak to your elders without honourics. A well brought up child also knows that you respect the traditions of your hosts. An intelligent person knows that what is acceptable in America or the west is not necessarily acceptable in Nigeria. People have different cultures for a reason. It is badly brought up people that think because they do it in America, it is a sign of education to disgrace your family on live television. CNN is a western program with western values and traditions, They also supporters of gays, why don’t you support gays to because CNN do? Arise Tv is a Nigerian station with Nigerian and as such reflects Nigerian values and traditions. When she goes to CNN and is interviewing a westerner she can address her father’s age mate like the born throw way she is. Because well raised Nigerians (and indeed if you are observant well raised westerners) will address you by your formal title in a formal environment. The problem Nigerians make when they go abroad is they interact with westerners from the ghetto and think because in Nigeria your ability to speak English properly is a sign of education in Nigeria that any westerner who speaks english is a well raised westerner. They often don’t know they are dealing with the equivalent of scum and dregs of society back home just that they are from a developed society. Nobody says address anyone as uncle or auntie etc, I was referring to a personal situation with personal friends older than me. In the Nigerian professional environment anyone distinctly older than you is to be addressed formally Mr, Dr, Chief, Prof etc until told otherwise by the person and even when told otherwise by the elder a well raised Nigerian will irefuse to call an elder by his/her first name. |
eldoradoxx:I am not trying to scare you, I am trying to educate you. Why would I try to educate you, if I am not in your camp? Because experience shows that you heat up the polity when you don’t get what you want and it’s neither good for you, for me or the country. Therefore it is in my interest to explain to you why for 64 years you have been unsuccessful in achieving your national political aims. Forget your biases, our differences, political and tribal, indulge me and read the following with an open mind. In a previous post I gave the example of Awolowo, I described him as unelectable. Despite the Yoruba perception of his intellect and numerous visible accomplishments he was never able to become president. We presented Falae, he failed. I also told you that despite all the recent revisionism about Abiola, he was actually seen as a traitor just like Obasanjo is loathed amongst many Yorubas. But guess what? Abiola and Obasanjo succeeded where the real choices of the Yorubas failed. They were both elected president Awolowo and Falae never won a presidential election. Note while many will tell you Awo was rigged, I never say Awo was rigged because even if true it doesn’t matter, if he were electable they would have rigged for him. Tinubu learnt this and Yorubas as a group have learnt this, that is why Tinubu is president today despite the fact that many Yorubas actually voted against him or at least don’t like him. The subject matter here is Obi, instead of addressing the issue of Obi, going on a tirade on Tinubu and Yorubas is diversionary and only serves to make you miss the point and therefore fail to understand why Obi cannot and will not be president ever! Even if Tinubu was not contesting, Obi would have lost and will lose. It does not matter who Obi contests against, he will lose. Tinubu’s performance in office, whether people ar e hungry now or not has little or no consequence to the prospects of an Obi presidency. It may hurt Tinubu if he decides to contest but it will make no difference to Obi’s chances. If there are only 2 ibo candidates, Obi will lose. With due respect, You make the same errors because you always get emotional and reactionary and never settle down to focus on the real issue to truly understand why he lost. Obi cannot win a presidential election no matter how badly Tinubu performs or how much hardship he imposes on the people. Note don’t make this about Tinubu, I didn’t say he cannot lose, I said Obi cannot win…let’s stay focused! Were people not complaining of hardship in 2019, or have you forgotten? did Buhari not win his reelection? If Tinubu is kicked out Obi will not be the beneficiary! You have to understand why Nigerians and indeed voters all over the world vote the way they do in order to put yourself in a position to get their votes. If you don’t you will always lose. They said Trump is a racist, a criminal, did he not win by a landslide? They said Monday can’t speak English, did he not win in Edo? First lesson: if you are not the Majority in a democracy (ibos are 15% of our population), your votes alone are not enough, so your opinion and support for your candidate Is inconsequential…..brutal but true. What matters is the opinion or the pulse of the 85% and in particular the fraction of that 85% you need to win. So in a 2 horse race, you need to gain the support of 36% of the remaining 85%. In a 3 horse race of equally string candidates, you need approximately an additional 20-25% of the 85%. Tinubu has no business being president today based on Buhari’s performance but he is, not because of rigging, INEC, judiciary or any of the other narratives you peddle. The opposition had 14.7m votes and split their votes such that despite the fact that APC only got 8m votes losing 4.3m from 2019, they still won. Election is a numbers game, after all the noise and the back and forth, voters will line up and they will count their votes. It’s really that simple! in the end you didn’t have the numbers or you had but split it…simple as. The question then is why don’t you have the numbers and how do you get the numbers? Lesson 2: there is strength in numbers and alliances, play the long game and stoop to conquer. Fractions will always be weaker than the whole. So do all that is possible to remain whole. The real issue is electability. In a democracy, you need to understand your voters, it doesn’t mean like them, it doesn’t mean agree with them, just understand them, feel their pulse they are the ones you need to cross the finish line. A man says he cannot marry a nurse , yet you keep hooking him up with nurses and you complain that he does hit and run and didn’t marry any of them. Did he not tell you he can’t marry a nurse? Why keep trying to hook him with nurses as potential wives when he has told you it can’t work. It doesn’t matter that your wife is a nurse, he has his reasons whether you agree or not why he has decided nurses are not for him. What this means is you cannot present a candidate they will never vote for and think they will vote for him because you think he is the best thing since sliced bread, when they tell you they don’t like him, listen, no matter how much you like him. If they don’t like him they won’t vote for him and there is nothing you can do. We have focus groups for a reason, in product launches and in politics, you have to put yourself in the mind of your customer or your voters. Put it this way, let us put the shoe on the other foot as they say. As an ibo man can you vote for Awolowo, did your parents vote for Awolowo despite his undoubted capabilities in the eyes of the Yorubas? The answer for the average ibo man at the time and even today was/is no! It doesn’t matter that I or my parents felt Awo was the best thing since sliced bread….he was unelectable. But you voted for Obasanjo, so despite the fact that our politics is tribal for the majority of voters, ibos were able to vote for a Yoruba man just not Awo….why? Because Awo was not the kind of Yoruba man they can vote for. Awo had (even in death) the unshakable tag of being a tribalist and Obasanjo is seen as a detribalised Nigerian.. Nobody cares whether it is true or not and nobody is interested in shalaye, Awo was dead on arrival in ibo land and the North. Decades after his death he is still dead on arrival. This is the problem Peter Obi faces. He is seen as a tribalist, an IPOB sympathizer, an ethnic champion and not a detribalised Nigerian. There is also the issue of his perceived lack of competency whether it is true or. It, the reality is many think he is incompetent. Please resist the temptation to explain, nobody cares, these opinions are set and largely unchangeable. That’s why he can never win a national election. That’s why I say he is unelectable. Even Buhari despite his cult like followership was unelectable until prominent leaders in the SW backed him. Nigerians don’t elect tribal champions. Obi will be a harder sell, I would even say an impossible sell because he needs the establishment in the North to back him and that will never happen. Lesson 3: Nigerians don’t elect leaders perceived to be tribal champions. understand the electorate and don’t field candidates the people will not vote for simply because you like the candidate. Elections are won by the person who has the most votes, if he is the best candidate, that is a bonus. The 1st criteria is that he can appeal to the voters needed to win. The candidate you are presenting is everything. Your initial reaction will likely be to insult me, insult Yorubas insult INEC, alledge rigging and the usual diversionary reactions that avoid facing the reality. I don’t mind if you do but I would hope you put that to one side for a minute and take what I say on board. The truth is often a bitter pill to swallow but it is also the truth that sets you free. Listen to the electorate, they are the ones whose votes you need. If you want an ibo president you need a detribalised ibo, or it won’t fly because the people whose votes you will need are not comfortable with tribal champions, whether Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani or ibo. IMHO, as one of the people whose votes you need for an ibo presidency and one who is in touch with people like myself, you need to ditch Peter Obi and start to look for and project an ibo candidate that is seen as detribalised. An Osita Chidoka, a Dave Umahi, etc etc. you may not like what I am saying but the ibo man that can win a presidential election is likely an ibo man that is not popular or splits opinions in the SE. He likely will not be your ideal candidate, like I said neither Abiola or Obasanjo and truth be told even Tinubu are the ideal candidates of the Yorubas. After failing for many years yorubas realized they were the ones with the capacity to win where our choice failed. You say you are traders, you are selling a product, It doesn’t matter what you think of the product, what matters is whether your customer feels the product fulfills his needs. If you think the product is Crapp but the customer thinks that’s what he can afford he will buy it. If you think it is a good product but he can’t afford it or it is not what he needs he won’t buy it no matter how hard you try. The only people you can force a product on is your family and friends or a man who isn’t paying for it or a man without options. Long and short: the 1st step to a successful attempt at an ibo presidency is a candidate that is acceptable to others! CC: CSTRR |
CSTRR:Actually it was the north that made Tinu I president just as it was the SW that made Buhari president. Tell me who are Obi’s Allie’s outside the SE? Keep arguing like you did in 2023. The next slot for the SE is 2039. Start the process now of grooming someone who can appeal to voters outside the SE. it’s not about who you want it’s about who the voters can accept. Fundamental rule of politics that some of our English speaking political Analysts dont seem to understand . You field someone who can win. Obi cannot win, No major party will give him the ticket because they know he is unelectable….that is the point!!!! |
CSTRR:He was never close, his votes just like Awolowo were 90% from his tribes men. How many states did he have 25%. add APC Rivers votes to Obi, and subtract from Tinubu he still comes 3rd. You people are always driven by emotion not strategy. You give you the answer in an exam 20 times, you will fail 20 times! Nigerians voted for 2 yoruba presidents in Abiola and Obasanjo but they were never the choice of the Yorubas. Learn lessons from the Yorubas , learn lessons from how Tinubu became president. The country does not care which of your sons YOU want as president. The country will vote for one of your sons when you present one THEY find acceptable. Peter Obi is unacceptable, he is unelectable!!! If he likes let him contest for 24 years like Awo or Atiku, he will lule each time! |
CSTRR:I remember you before the elections. Your responses were the same then. My predictions then came to be and my predictions for 2027 and forever ( in the the case of Obi). Will come to be. Obi is fundamentally unelectable. He suffers the same ailment Awolowo did. He is perceived by the voters he needs as a tribal candidate. This is apart from the fact that the man is fundamentally daft! Therefore he will never get the votes required to t alle the next step and cross the finish line. When the time comes that Nigeria elects an Ibo as president, it won’t be a man like Peter Obi. |
CSTRR:Awolowo was unelectable. He had better results in multiple elections than Obi. He was also far more intelligent and had a bar better track record. Stop being emotional when you read words. Unelectable does not mean you don’t have a huge following, It means you don’t have what it takes to cross the finish line. Obi will even get less votes than 2023 if he contests. Save this post and quote me in 2027. |
OneCandleAway:Jesus wept!!! How do you guys reason? Which southern vote? Souther votes already know where they are going. The north will not back Atiku because he is too old. The north will not vote for obi neither will they turn their backs on Tinubu to back Obi….it will never happen. In the end they only way they contest together is in another party and we will end up with the same split votes that produced Tinubu. The only way Atiku defeats Tinubu is in PDP with Obidients voting for him and that is not going to happen. |
Salewa97:Have you watched dumb and dumber? As Atiku has been watching others become president since 1999, so also Obi will watch as others become president. I have said it many time they missed their appointment with destiny in 2023 because of no gree for anybody. That opportunity is gone and gone for good. Obi is unelectable and Atiku is too old to be taken seriously by the North. Whoever success Tinubu in 2027 or 2031 will not be either of them. Save this post and quote me in 2027 and 2031. |
OneCandleAway:People should understand 1 thing. Atiku is not getting the ticket of the PDP. Atiku is not doing all this wahala to be a vice president . So if Atiku is running, we are back to the scenario the produced Tinubu in 2023…..a divided Northern vote. |
Ogegeodey:Why do educated people talk like this? |
aieromon:When the foreign multinationals exited, I said it was because they could not compete with the locals because all their products were out of patent. As usual children of perdition came after me. Now we see. They left because they cannot compete with the locals. Below is my post at the time (2023) casualobserver: |
chidiokay:. I saw it. Bad belle people don come. Just google NNPC live streaming on YouTube and watch. It’s people like you that never like to hear any good news |
okoliobinna84:They should take your salary to the good old. Days too? |
erai30:Don’t expect it to but I can guarantee you we have seen the worst of inflation. The price of petrol will be determined by 2 things going forward, the global price of crude oil and the exchange rate. We have no control over the price of crude but having multiple refineries working beyond our local demand level means we will export refined products which means we will get more forex. As we get more forex, the Naira will rise and the price of petrol will fall. It won’t happen overnight. |
Sonfethopia:It should. Because we can satisfy local demand with our refineries, we will have excess for export. We make more forex from export of refined products than we make from crude. |
searchlight:We have not had govt refineries work on more than 30 years. Can you let patriotic Nigerians enjoy one day before you resume your gloom and doom tomorrow? |
Okoroawusa:Any Nigerian who isn’t happy at this news is clearly showing where his heart is. |
I am so relieved they are actually producing petrol. I saw an interview with a former MD of the refinery and he said the rehabilitated refinery (i.e PH 1) would not produce petrol only diesel. That was my fear. I am so relieved they are actually producing petrol! Well done to Buhari, well done to Tinubu, well done to Kyari, well done Nigeria. It’s taken forever but we will turn things around. |
Justnation:A man who knows what it means to raise a child properly unlike your father....assuming you even have a father |
simpleseyi:even my seniors that are only a few years that we drink beer and chased women together and are so close we call by their nickname, we will put "Sir", "bros" "Uncle" or "egbon" before the nickname. what nonsense all these poorly raised children of perdition that have infiltrated the social space. |
Benbellamor:i am sure they dont call their elders by their first names anywhere in Nigeria. Its a symptom of bad parenting and lack of proper home training. Personally Reben was Kind because if it were me, i will ask her on national TV "were you raised to call your elders by their first name?" |
what we should be concerned with is the distribution pipeline. When i was young you never saw fuel tankers on the road because petrol, diesel and kerose was pumped around the country via pipelines. |
kedeojo:NNPC will not sell at a low price, they are a profit making business. The price of petrol is not coming down if the price of Crude doesn't come down. |
trendingnigeria:speak english please |
You see an old man of 60+, old enough to be your father and as a Nigerian you call him by his first name privately is bad talk less publicly…are you not a rude poorly raised Nigerian child? Do you see any of his cohosts who are older than the useless poorly raised girl call him Reuben? Manner less children! You think speaking English means you are no longer a Nigerian? |
SmartPolician:This is why they say don’t have sex with your sister. She will get oregnant and give birth to people with brain impediments like this guy 👆🏿 |
