He is probably one of the eeidiots like neyoworld247 who come to Nairaland saying they have N10m, which country should they go? |
Pacesetter123:And people who ask these kinds of questions pain me a lot because it seems to assume the government has money. We were borrowing to pay salaries we were borrowing to pay fuel subsidies. This has been happening since the days of Jonathan. Remmember when NOI said we were borrowing to pay salaries. We have been living a fake life and on top of that our crude oil production dropped from 2mbpd to 1.4m. Anybody who thinks you can arrest the rot of decades of bad priorities and you will feel the positive effects immediately clearly has a low IQ Like I said because money for education was used for subsidy, we produce educated people like you who lack critical reasoning abilities….the reason your degrees are worthless for the few jobs that exist and why your fellow graduates are Uber drivers, sales girls and bank clerks. |
It is safe to say that at 81 in 2027, Atiku will never be Nigeria’s president. |
Abagworo:That’s a short term mindset. We were all suffering before because there were no investment in roads, no hospitals no good schools. They gave you cheap petrol to stop you from feeling the impact of the damage the subsidy regime was doing to your futures. What is the benefit of cheap petrol if it means your life and prospects stagnate? You spend all the money (even borrowing) on subsidy, because you spend all the money on subsidy you don’t have a well educated Labour pool, poor roads and infrastructure etc because of that you are unattractive as a destination for businesses, because businesses don’t invest good jobs are not created, because there are no jobs you are unemployed and the few jobs that are available you are unqualified because the education system is so underinvested your certificates and degrees are worthless…..all because of cheap subsidized petrol!!!! |
vowiski:There is a lot of misinformation about the gains of subsidy removal. What we gained from the removal of subsidy is in the not having to continue to borrow to fund the subsidy. Government is not communicating effectively. It’s not money we had/have that is saved. As for forex that is more complicated. As for new borrowings, we are borrowing to fu d the business of government: social services and infrastructure rather than to burn subsidized petrol in gas guzzling jeeps. |
Odingo1:There are already areas that are known to be Ibo areas. Festac is predominantly Ibo, amuwo, etc. |
Odingo1:Who says I am joking? It’s an inevitability. Everybody is a product of migration. You settle somewhere long enough and you become “from there” Ibos did not originate from the place they call Ibo land today, ijebus are from Sudan, most Yorubas from are actually migrants from Ife, There are yoruba descendants in Warri and Bayelsa. So what I stated is simply a matter of certainty. In a few generations Ibos will tell you about their roots and ancestors in yoruba land…..and they will be historically correct. No joke, no tribal connotations just a certain effect of human migration that is inevitable. |
Soon they will add Lagos, ogun Ondo, Ekiti and Oyo to the list of their states. |
ottersberger:You must be a small boy. This phenomenon of referring to Ibos as Igbo is a recent thing. Ibos have always been called Ibos and referred to themselves as Ibos. It is not derogatory, if anythinng, igbo in yoruba is derogatory because to us it means bush, forest or weed (drugs) Even Zik repeatedly referred to his people as “Ibo”’ while addressing them! Read his speach of 1949 as one example, he repeatedly says “Ibo” not “igbo”. I grew up with Ibos, if it was derogatory they would have corrected me. My textbooks as a student referred to ibos not Igbos. Referring to yourselves as “Igbo” is a recent phenomenon and some of us are used to what we are accustomed to. Nothing derogatory! You are too sensitive and always taking offense in everything and that’s why you always deviate from the real issues. If you want to be pedantic, let me educate you. There is nothing like the yoruba tribe or language, the word is Yoruba is derived from Yoruba which is actually a Fulani/Hausa insult for people of the Oyo empire. We have Oyo, ijebu, Ijesha, egba, Ife, Ekiti etc. but we call ourselves and are called yoruba and we don’t take offense. Imagine Yorubas saying they don’t want to be referred to as Yorubas because it is derogatory after you have spent all your life hearing them call themselves yoruba? Must you ALWAAYS make an issue of everything, is everything an attack on you? STOP BEING SO PRECIOUS and acting like SNOWFLAKES , PEOPLE HAVE BIGGER THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT My wife is referred to by her childhood friends by her nickname which is a combination of her first name and her maiden name……I don’t take offense, it doesn’t mean they don’t respect that she is now married. I have friends who I grew up with that changed their names for different reasons, I call them by the name I know them and if they don’t like it too bad! Below are just a few instances from of his speech, where he repeatedly says “Ibo”. Not once did your leader, address your people as “Igbo” This address was delivered at the Ibo State Assembly held at Aba, Nigeria, on Saturday, June 25, 1949. Harbingers of a new day for the Ibo nation, having selected me to preside over the deliberations of this assembly of the Ibo nation, I am conscious of the fact that you have not done so because of any extraordinary attributes in me. I realize that I am not the oldest among you, nor the wisest, nor the wealthiest, nor the most experienced, nor the most learned. I am therefore grateful to you for elevating me to this high pedestal. The Ibo people have reached a cross-road and it is for us to decide which is the right course to follow. …… it is the road to self-determination for the Ibo within the framework of a federated commonwealth of Nigeria and the Cameroons, leading to a United States of Africa. …It would appear that God has specially created the Ibo people to suffer persecution and be victimized because of their resolute will to live. Is it not historically significant that throughout the glorious history of Africa, the Ibo is one of the select few to have escaped the humiliation of a conqueror’s sword or to be a victim of a Carthaginian treaty? Search through the records of African history and you will fail to find an occasion when, in any pitched battle, any African nation has either marched across Ibo territory or subjected the Ibo nation to a humiliating conquest. Instead, there is record to show that the martial prowess of the Ibo, at all stages of human history, has rivaled them not only to survive persecution, but also to adapt themselves to the role thus thrust upon them by history, of preserving all that is best and most noble in African culture and tradition. Placed in this high estate, the Ibo cannot shirk the responsibility conferred on it by its manifest destiny. Having undergone a course of suffering the Ibo must therefore enter into its heritage by asserting its birthright, without apologies. I have not come here today in order to catalogue the disabilities which the Ibo suffer, in spite of our potential wealth, in spite of our teeming man-power, in spite of our vitality as an indigenous African people; suffice it to say that it would enable you to appreciate the manifest destiny of the Ibo …and on and on if you continue the peruse the speech, Zik the leader of the ibos addressing a tribal gathering of ibo representatives and tribesmen, repeatedly refers to his people as Ibo not Igbo. Finally, as you can see from the 3rd picture, if you do a word search in the book “things fall apart”, written by a celebrated ibo cultural giant, Chinua Achebe, set in the context of ibo society and culture, the word ibo occurs 12 times, the word Igbo does not exist. Indeed Igbo only exists in the book 3 times as part of the names Ezigbo (twice) and Okadigbo (once). There is no mention of the word Igbo in the entire book. In the 4th picture, Achebe writes “as the ibo say”. Is he being derogatory? . So STFU and go and sit down! Enough of this gaslighting! If your elders, Zik, Dadi Onyeama and your celebrated literary and cultural giant Achebe say your people are ibo, then who the fork are you small boy millennial who clearly does not know his own culture or history? Derogatory is calling you an eeediot which you are, referring to people of the SE as Ibos is not derogatory! Instead of offering advice from a position of ignorance, take my advice and learn your own history and culture so you don’t get schooled about your own history by outsiders. We have a saying in yoruba land that the day you join politics is the day you will learn your mother’s ex boyfriends. What it means is before you go out and make noise attacking others make sure you are sure of yourself.

XerXers:You are an eediot with a low IQ. Learn to read and understand. Like Abati said I am responsible for what I say, I am not responsible for your stupid1ty. This is always the problem with you people, somebody says one man is taller than the other, you interprete it as he said a man is short. Eeeediots |
Kukutente23:Abati mentioned umunna land. Irrespective f that the situation with ibo land is known to all. It is not a new thing neither is it a generalization. It is so acknowledged that there are scholarly articles written about it. Thankfully they are written by ibos. These are just 2. https://www.ajol.info/index.php/ujah/article/download/72632/61550 https://www.researchgate.net/publication/374160847_A_CRITICAL_REVIEW_OF_LAND_RIGHTS_OWNERSHIP_AND_INHERITENCE_AS_INFLUENCED_BY_THE_IGBO_CUSTOM Saga I am not going to waste my time fish8ng through old arise videos to show you how joy helped to fuel the victimization agenda during the Lagos land saga. I personally detest her as she is an air head whose isn’t a journalist but a beauty queen and whose sole purpose (so also Ayo and all the others) is to appeal to the gullible who are seduced by looks. Maope of channels is a journalist and a professional not the empty heads on Arise. There is no difference between the ladies on Arise and bank marketing staff. We know why they exist, it’s not because of what is between their ears! We all know when we are dealing with ibos anything you say that is not pleasing to their ears is met with resistance. You are the one who should watch the video again, he specifically said ummunnna. The annoying thing about it is that you people are carrying on as if you don’t know these things are true. Social media is full of comments FROM IBOS and videos confirming what Rueben said and that it is not an isolated case but a cultural norm. Again good night! 11:06. He specifically says “go and buy umunna land, you will be told you don’t belong even as an in-law” THis is what you people do, thank God there is evidence, every narratibepve you spin, nothing is ever your fault, you are never wr9mg. Aside from the video below, these are just a few of the countless ibos who have confirmed that ancestral land and community land is traditionally not sold in ibo land, so I really don’t know what the noise is all about except you take offense at anything and like I said before the reason this is a big deal for you is you cannot stand up and fpdefend your culture with chest because you have spent you time outside ibo land disrespecting other peoples culture. “It is cultural” would have ended this debate and promoted understanding but you couldn’t because your stock in trade is insulting other peoples cultures so how can you now say hen we don’t sell certain lands because of culture which is the reality ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4t7FO84y4c?feature=shared

Kukutente23:I have said what I need to say, I am not responsible for how you receive the message. Read again and tell me where I saidOjy disrespected the culture of others. This is always the problem with you people. What I said is Ibos are generally disrespectful of the culture of others. What I said is Oju has been going on about on her platform promoting the idea that yorubas are victimizing Ibo property owners in Lagos for the last 2 years. Whereas someone as enlightened and educated as her knows full well that Ibos were not the only ones caught up in the illegal developments and most of them had no titles and they built illegally. What is a generalization? Abate was clear and precise, he said ibos do not sell ummuma land or whatever you call it and gave an example.. Is that a generalization, is it not part of your culture? It is not a generalization it it such a fundamental part of Ibo culture that there are numerous scholarly articles written on the subject matter. The problem with dealing with you people is you don’t like to hear the truth, you only hear what you want to hear. That’s why you don’t get along with others. |
Tinubu2027Agend: DeOTR:The North is actually a more productive zone despite their challenges. Their VAT collection is hampered because their is no VAT on food. They feed the rest of the country. Agriculture is the biggest contributor to our GDP but there is no VAT and the North feeds the rest of the country. What I find really shocking is the decline of Kano. When I was young, Kano was toe to toe with Lagos in economic activity despite not having a port with Kaduna not far behind. Having said that, those versions version ofKano and Kaduna has been cannibalised into katsina and jigawa so that explains a part of the fall. Nonetheless |
jmoore:It’s not accurate but it is not that misleading. There are companies located outside Lagos for which the majority of their customers/consumers are located in Lagos. Furthermore no one can deny Lagos is the commercial nerve center of Nigeria. So even if they attribute VAT to where the consumption take place, The most Lagos will drop to from 275b a month is maybe 150-200b a month. It means the N75-125b Lagos loses in VAT will be shared amongst the other 35 states and FCT where the VAT truly arose from. The most the entire SE will gain on a paltry figure is about 10-15b….still a pittance. |
Kukutente23:My friend I don’t know if you are Ibo but what I expect from any Ibo who feels aggrieved by his comment is to explain why Ibo land is difficult. You have already admitted he did not lie. This issue about Ibo and land is not a new story. This was an opportunity for her to clear the air. She should have explained why people have that impression of false. She couldn’t because 1) Ibos serially disrespect the cultures of others. 2) she has spent the last year or 2 attacking Yorubas for having an agenda against Ibos on land property. The land issue in Ibo land is a cultural thing. We all know and we respect it because we have cultures too. Again I repeat the reason why the Ibos are defensive when in fact they should be proud of their culture is because the land issue is cultural and they have serially and habitually disrespected other peoples cultures. So it is difficult for most Ibos to say it is a cultural thing because it will force them to confront the demon that they have been disrespecting other people cultures. It is not a one off story, everybody knows land is difficult (I didn’t say impossible) to obtain in Ibo land because at least a significant portion of land is unavailable to outsiders, even Ibo outsiders so naturally what land is left is expensive. It is not like the SE has much land to begin with. |
Kukutente23:What Ojy did was to deflect, when she should have used her position ans an Ibo with a platform to enlighten. Instead she played the victim card. Shee couldn’t for reasons I have explained in a previous post above. Instead she tried to to railroad Reuben and turn him into a bad guy. Fact remains he did not lie and most land in SE is not available for sale to outsiders even Ibos. He did not state anything Ibos and the rest of Nigeria do not know She should have used her position to explain but she couldn’t because of what her people have been doing to other people. |
owobokiri:There is no igbophobia. You people just get unduly defensive and sensitive. No Ibo man will deny that most land in Ibo land is ancestral or community land. The difference between the Ibos and most other places in the country is that Ibos won’t sell these categories of land to outsiders even Ibo outsiders whereas in most parts of Nigeria they will sell communal or ancestral land to no indigenes. After all what are omoniles selling if not communal or family land? Instead of you to say this is our culture, land is sacred and to us so we dont sell ancestral or communal land to outsiders but there are other categories of land for sale. However because most land is ancestral or communal the land available for sale can be expensive… simple! The reason why you can’t do that is that you go to other peoples area and disrespect their culture so it is hard for you to say the reason why land is difficult but not impossible in the SE is a cultural one. The reason why this is an issue is because you have disrespected other people’s traditions and cultures in your travels and cohabitation with others therefore it becomes difficult for you to say with full chest that this is a cultural thing when in fact there is absolutely nothing wrong with not selling land to outsiders if it is rooted in culture or beliefs. The Hausa do not apologize to you for introducing sharia or marrying teenagers, it is their culture, the Fulanis defend their right to roam with their cows, it is their culture. If you had just done that, most non Ibos would and indeed do understand because we know it’s a cultural thing. Again you can’t defend your practice and culture because you habitually disrespect other peoples traditions and cultures. So instead you say igbophobia and other diversionary comments. The truth is we all have our cultures and practices. You don’t respect other peoples cultures so you are now finding it difficult to defend this. Ordinarily an Ibo man should be able to say with full chest and the pride the Ibos are known for “according to our culture, it is taboo to sell communal or ancestral land to outsiders, the remaining land is scarce therefore expensive…….it is our culture end of story. Please try and understand but if you don’t then go and hug a transformer.” You can’t because you have consistently and habitually shown disdain and disrespect for the traditions and cultures of your hosts on your travels. And that is all there is to it. |
Kukutente23:So basically Abati did not lie? |
Mercenary123:Is he lying? Everything hatred, address the issue. Nobody has said there isn’t land for sale to outsiders in ibo land but unlike other areas of Nigeria, there are certain categories of land family land and communal land that they will not sell to outsiders even fellow ibos. Is that a lie? Whether it is cultural or not this is a fact. |
pazienza:When you were doing forced unity with no secession clause and unification decree, you didn’t know? You thought it would benefit you, when it backfired on you you are now wailing? Until then get out of here we are tired of your nonsense. You are never happy until you control everybody, Sardauna said it and he is right. The thing is you are not strategic enough to execute such a plan so it always backfired and leaves you worse that you were. Nobody takes you seriously anymore, you are seen as a joke. |
pazienza:You are not getting Biafra and you are not getting the presidency. We are all paying for the sins of your fathers and your children will pay for the sins you commit today if you don’t change your ways. So I suggest you continue to enjoy the benefits Nigeria affords you like being able to have a market of 250m people and able to buy and own property in other peoples land. The day you realize the misadventures of your past leaders is what got you here is the day maybe you will realize what you are doing today will be paid for by your children. Everything else is just noise! |
pazienza:Let me explain this thing to you. The SW region is capable of standing on its own and indeed was the fastest developing region in he world when we had federating units. Awolowo has always been in favour of autonomy and has famously said Nigeria is a mere geographical expression. Ofcourse membership of a bigger country has benefits but being part of Nigeria has been but an albatross to the Sw since the unification which by the way was done by Ironsi. We are not afraid of break up, we do not seek it but if it happens we will be fine, in fact not just be fine, we will explode, in fact we as well as the Ss will be the biggest beneficiaries. However it is the ibos that have checkmated us all in this union called Nigeria and they make the most noise. Awolowo is not the reason you are stuck in Nigeria, look towards Zik. Awolowo is not the reason we all lost 50% control of our resources, look towards ironsi. Awolowo is not the reason we have states and not independent regions, look towards the reactions necessitated by Ojukwu and his misadventures. Awolowo is not the reason the presidency eludes you, look towards Ifeajina, Ojukwu, Ironsi, Kanu, Ekpa etc. Look at the theme running through everything I said….you are the architects of your perceived misfortunes. Your biggest problem is you don’t know how to coexist peacefully with others and that’s why you’ve lost trust. Despite that you are still the biggest beneficiaries of Nigeria. Secondly you are always shortsighted politically so you engage in moves ( be it secession clause, 1966 coup, civil war, IPOB insulting northerners, insulting yorubas etc) that backfire on you and leave you worse that you were before. Every time the ibo makes a political move, he sets himself back and then doubles down and makes his situation worse. The ibo man today has less chance of becoming president of Nigeria than he ever did. All this Biafra talk is all about the presidency, if it were genuinely about leaving Nigeria, you would all be moving home and not buying and building homes in regions you claim you want to leave. We cannot and will not be gaslighted into an ibo presidency on the back of threats of breakup and insults. The more you do the more we withhold our votes. You are the ones trying to gaslight us but we have seen through you and called your bluff….do your worst! Heaven will not fall, no one is voting for a president or a tribe who supports secession and insults every other tribe. I am for one Nigeria, all this talk of break up are just the rankings of a deluded bunch, we are well past that. You are the ones who put us in this position, you will pay the price and suffer for you misdeed just like we have been suffereing the consequences of your misdeeds and misadventures. But that presidency….don’t hold your breath. Finally let me say this. Every region of Nigeria is self sufficient (the SE will prosper but a significant number of ibos will need to leave their enclave to eek a living) , the people who fear the breakup of Nigeria the most are the north not the yorubas and let me educate you why? After the killing of Sardauna (by the ibos), the North has not really had true leadership. Think about it, Buhari is the closest they have had. The north is not as united as we tend to think and there are many different factions in the North. The fear of the North and why they tolerate your nonsense and don’t allow you to go with your N8B a month VAT is because they fear that the North will be Balkanized. This is the real reason the North tolerates all the noise from the SE. but they have you where they want you, they will not give you the presidency you crave but thanks to your leaders you are stuck. It is your killing of the Sardauna and them not having a natural successor that is haunting you. Nothing to do with yorubas or Awolowo. If you know where we were in 1966 and where we are today, we have paid a severe price for this union. Unlike you we don’t engage in fruitless battles, we make the best of the supituation that is why the SW in spite of everything is the best performing region. It will always be, within Nigeria or on its own. That why you troop here in droves to eek a living. I have always believed that rather than fear the exit of the SE and consequential balkanisation of the North, the North should allow a referendum and secession, I say call their blufff!, They are making noise and not letting us have peace because they know there is no referendum or possibility of secession. If you give them the option and they realize what they will lose, they will all borrow themselves some brain cells. Like I said the ibos benefit from Nigeria more than any other tribe. Give them the referendum, call their blufff and let us have peace! |
Goodmarlian:Can you not go home on your own? Do you need to be expelled if that is what you truly want? We have seen through your BS that is why Kanu is in prison and nothing will happen, that is why Ekpa will be imprisoned and nothing will happen, that is why presidency will elude you and nothing will happen. |
pazienza:Abeg go and rest, you have turned yourselves into a laughing stock. Nobody take you seriously. |
pazienza:This is my last comment to you. We are not the ones holding you back. Sardauna and Awolow insisted on secession clause. Zik was the one who insisted on not including one and he managed to prevail. Even then Zik knew the ibos cannot survive without Nigeria. If you want to prove you want Biafra, let your actions show that you really want Biafra but to the rest of us, the shouts for Biafra are merely a presidential political negotiation tactic that is designed to fail. Good night. |
pazienza:This matter is not hard. If you don’t need Nigeria, go and earn your living in the SE and let us suffer in the SW for not appreciating you. Is it hard? |
pazienza:You are doing greatly but you are the lowest VAT generating region in the country? Abeg yeye Dey smell! Every day you come you make noise, everyday you say invest in the SE, instead everyday you leave in bus loads. Watch what a man does not what he says. You that are posting I am sure you are not in the SE. I am Yoruba, I am in the SW. 90% of all tribes in Nigeria are in their zones only you are all over the place…why? |
Goodmarlian:You overate your importance. You think Lagos was not developed before the influx of ibos? You think yorubas were not engaged in spare parts before you came into the SW? What is business you do that cannot be replaced, selling spare parts, fake drugs and second hand clothes? Don’t also forget any land you own in Nigeria is a 99yr lease and can be revoked at the discretion of the governor. Let me explain to you how countries function, in a breakup, your elites will remain in Lagos because they add value and they need The SW especially Lagos, the parasites, the dross (people like you) will be expelled. |
VaselineCrew:Your last sentence shows your low level of intellect if that is what you concluded from My post. The sad reality of the miseducated is that by a certain age it is impossible to re-educated the miseducated. All this talk of going home, why haven’t you gone home already? Why do you flood out cities and towns everyday in droves? We are calling your bluff. Nobody is talking you seriously and will take you seriously while you talk of breakup or Biafra but every day leave the Biafra to earn a living in other peoples land. |
pazienza:Why are you all outside SE? Do you see any tribe earn a living outside the SE like the Ibos? Nobody leaves the comfort and familiarity of his home to earn a living elsewhere if home has all you need to survive. People don’t japa to Canada and Europe because they like the cold and snow, they go because they can’t fulfill their potential at home. |
Bigkoko:Look at the post. For all the effort you put into it, not a single like or reaction! You know why? You have to go the end of the post to like a post. Nobody got to the end……because it was apparent from the 1st sentence it was the rantings of an eeediot. Even my comment on your post got 2 likes. |
