diojek:Are you not the same people that will not let them walk around in peace. Without asking “anything for the boys” or “your boys dey o”? |
SULBELL:1 Governments have bilateral tax avoidance and double taxation treaties and cooperation with different tax authorities. 2. In Nigeria, spending over 183 days in a year makes you eligible for income tax as you are considered resident in Nigeria for income tax. Other countries have different tax laws. 3: if you are a Nigerian resident foreigner and they suspect you are not paying the right taxes, they can request cooperation from your home country’s tax authorities. 4: international tax avoidance matters are like interpol, it is not in any country’s interest not to cooperate with the other country because next time it may your country that is owed taxes. |
GigFc:It depends. If they are in Nigeria more than 183 days in a year then they are resident in Nigeria for tax purposes. |
GigFc:Many are paid their salaries abroad and given a living allowance for Nigerian expenses. |
hisexcellency34:If you work you will get food. Yesterday a panel beater made 20k from me and a painter from Benin republic made another N25k for a small fender bender. It is timely you made this post because I was thinking just yesterday that those who want to work are making money. If you are waiting for people to feed you, you will be hungry. |
ceejayluv:In fairness he isn’t complaining and has never complained. If anything he has repeatedly owned the problem of Nigeria whether of his making or not. CBN governor simply made a statement of technical fact. |
Hezzyluv:Installing Buhari was the price Tinubu paid for becoming president. It is his responsibility to fix the mess created by Buhari. |

Sharingiscaring:Must we be the worst before you realize we have a problem with those tarnishing our image abroad? |
Unfortunately word of mouth and what you can prove are 2 different things. |

Teenaira:After a while this is no longer funny but an illness. |
I have a lot of time for this Festus Osifo guy. There is a gulf of intellect between him and Ajaero. |
Beverlyjean:Your problem is the incompetence of the opposition and the stupidity of its followers who do not make them accountable for their strategic lapses. 2019: things were tough but APC won because PDP were focussed on hacking INEC server. Atiku at the time selected a VP candidate that did not contribute to his numbers. Infact SE had less votes for PDP than in 2015. Strategic mistake he should have chosen a VP from SW to split the SW vote since the SE will never vote APC and their votes are in the bag 2023: Together they had 14m votes but because of ego and internal wrangles, the man with 8m votes won. Edo: the governor alienated everybody, both within and outside his own party including a politically powerful deputy governor, disregarded zoning formula, performed badly in terms of governance, insulted the revered Oba, brought in English speaking candidates that don’t live among or resonate with the people and from the same senatorial zone. Every time the opposition make strategic blunders then blame INEC or the courts. I have said this many times that the problem with PDP and it’s splinter groups is they are not democrats, only won elections in the era of rigging. As soon as rigging became more difficult their fortunes plummeted. They are not master election strategists. Their default mode is rigging and bribing judges. Unfortunately things have moved on with electoral reforms and they have not adapted. For so long as they continue to blame INEC and the judiciary for their failings and their supporters swallow the narrative they will have no cause to take stock and truly asses where they keep going wrong. It is the duty of PDP and LP supporters to tell your leaders to STFU and be strategic, close ranks like the APC, do whatever deal needs to be done to enter an election as one and win fairly. You their supporters need to tell them enough of this blaming INEC and the courts. Tell them do your homework!! APC win elections because they understand the voters, they are strategic, pragmatic and leave nothing to chance. If a monkey is the one that can win an election APC will field a monkey even if the monkey stole the party chairman’s food. The opposition will say how can I step down for a monkey talk less one that stole my food….that is why they are permanently in opposition. Elections are not about speaking English, they are not even about how good the candidate is. Elections are about where are the votes, what are the demographics of the voters, who can we field that those voters Will vote for. Democracy is not always about the best candidate but the will of the majority. This is the basic error opposition politicians and their supporters repeatedly fail to understand. So when we tell you Obi for instance cannot be president we are telling you because the demographics don’t favour him. If he likes let him run for the next 30 years he will never win. Field someone else! We have told you, you won’t hear, when he loses again you will say rigging or corrupt judiciary. Good governance and electability are 2 different things. Ask Awolowo, no matter how good your governance skills, no matter how good your governance skills, if you cannot win the election your abilities are merely a story for the gods. In hindsight Akintola was right, sometimes in politics you have to make “deals with the devil” to win the election to put your governance abilities to practice. The first job of a politician is to win the election, every thing else is secondary. You cannot implement your “good” ideas in opposition. In the era of rigging it is about out rigging the others but in the current environment where it is difficult to rig it is about being strategic and understanding the voter demographics. PDP opposition and its offshoots have not yet understood this and have yet to migrate their mindset from the pure rigging era pre 2015 to the electoral reforms, data and demographics driven era. instead of parroting their excuses and blame games, you should be lambasting the opposition to for their serial electoral strategic incompetence. how can an incumbent party be delivering difficult times for the electorate and keep winning elections 2019,2023, 2024 because the opposition keep shooting themselves in the foot? At what point will the opposition take responsibility for this? At what point are the opposition supporters going to say to the opposition WTF is wrong with you people that you cannot get your houses in order to defeat a party that has brought so much hardship to the people? At what point are you going to put the blame where it belongs? |
senatordave1:An extremely rare trait amongst Nigerians. Unfortunately the emotional propensity of Nigerians encourages politicians to be lazy because they can always blame rigging and their supporters will lap it up. You had 14m votes in an election but you lost because you couldn’t agree amongst yourselves so you blame INEC and the judiciary despite the fact that you presented no evidence of rigging at the court. You alienate your deputy governor who is from a senatorial district. You ignore zoning formula. You fight everybody who helped you in the past, insult a revered King and critically there is nothing to show for your 8 years in office. You bring a man that is not well known amongst the people. You lose the election, you blame INEC, your brainless supporters believe you and the cycle continues because you are not incentivized to be strategic. Even the clown whose candidate got less than 10% of the vote was blaming rigging! If you don’t take responsibility for your errors of judgement you will repeat the same mistakes in the next elections. Putt |
senatordave1:Most people are emotional and dont use their brains. |
All I want to know is…..is he still wearing Fendi? |
We4all:keep asking stoopid questions instead of taking the correction thats why they refer to you as "lazy youth" |
Racoon:use your brain. they are PDP members officially but "APC" in the war against Fubara. If APC officially confirms they are APC members then they will be forced to vacate their seats. |
We4all:in less time it took you to type this you could have googled "edo gubernatorial elections wife unmarried" |
MadPolitician:See previous post on the matter casualobserver:When you give examples, situate it in the proper context. The children of 2 men with the same salary will not have the same standard of living if one has 1 wife and 2 children and the other has 5 wives and 40 children. So continue having children like rabbits and comparing yourselves to the man with few children. |
emkz:Below is my post from August 27th. The problem with the educated Nigerians in the cities is 1) we don’t understand that we are a minority 2) the majority do not think like us, nor do they have the same needs and aspirations. But we always arrogantly assume the majority must think like we think and vote like we do…why? What does a man in the village who farms his own food and whose major focus is kerosene and borehole have in common with the man in the city who consumes foreign rice and other imported items? 3) APC win elections because they understand democracy is about the majority not the minority. 4) there is nowhere where democracy guarantees you the best candidate (whatever that means). All democracy is supposed to guarantee is the will of the people. casualobserver: |
Innobee99:INEC did not do anything! opposition fluffed their lines again! |
olaiya2007:Everybody get situation room, when you know you’ve lost next thing is to blame INEC. |
Realtruth2023:You are the ones that need to go to your villages and start to get more involved and influence in local affairs. Join parties and get involved in the primaries that produce the candidates. Join the civil service and be the ones watching over and implementing the affairs of state. The vacuum you left by being in the city speaking English is what the Mondays of this world, the corrupt civil servants, the political thugs etc have filled. And please stop all this nonsense City boy educated mor0n type talk of changing constitution. Nobody is going to enact a law that disadvantages him. If you want to change the system you have to participate in the process that produces the candidates in all parties. Not wait until they say these are the candidates and think you are doing your civic duty by voting. By that time it is often too late and your vote is inconsequential because the choice is between bad and worse. You go to school, live in the city, don’t go home, become successful have never been involved in politics, then one day you say you want to be governor like Akpata and then you realize you have to go home to become governor it is then the people will tell you they don’t know you! It is the dullard that stayed or kept in touch with the village that the people know. So you either do not get elected or you are at the mercy and therefore a stooge to a Godfather who is in touch with the people. |
Realtruth2023:Do I have to spell it out to you? In my days our educated parents, were from the villages, were in touch with the villagers, the villagers knew them and respected them, they came home regularly so we’re in touch with the people, so influenced the villagers. Also they were in the political parties, they were delegates, they were in the civil service. So although they were even a smaller minority than the educated of today, they influenced the direction of the country because they (the educated ones) were i ones piloting all the affairs of the country. So when you hear that things worked in the 60s-80s that is why. |
Realtruth2023:You clearly still do not get it. This is the arrogance we talk about. You are not in tune with the 80% that is why you do not understand why they vote the way they vote . Why is it with all our education some of us cannot think and understand even when we spell it out to them? A farmer in the village does not have the same aspirations as you. What is good government to a farmer in a remote village is not the same as what constitutes good government to someone in the city with a degree. Get that into your so called educated but clearly thick skulls. It is this arrogance of the educated that is leading to the prospect of a Monday whatever his name is as governor of a state like Edo! You are educated, you are a minority, your fate is in the hands of a majority who do not share your aspirations and you stay in the city speaking English, do not participate in the process that produces the candidates, have no influence over these “ignorant” majority and then complain every election when they throw up useless leaders. Who are the stoooopod ones in this scenario? The ignorant majority or the educated minority who leave their fate to the ignorant? As an educated person you have a theoretical higher potential or ceiling for achievement than they do, it is your hopes that are dashed not theirs. A lot of them are content with boreholes, farm implements, fertilizer etc. To them that shows a government that is working. |
PussyOdour:The problem with the opposition in Nigeria is they are too emotional and sentimental. They don’t strategize and when they lose they blame INEC. For all the criticism you can label at APC they are a strategic party when it comes to elections. Arise crew were making noise about debate, APC told you their voters don’t care about debates, you didn’t listen. Same thing with the presidential election. Because they have done their homework and know the voters and I keep saying it that all the English speaking people that are the Arise audience are less than 20% of the population and of that 20%, they are the ones less likely to stand in the sun or rain to vote. The English speaking portion of the Nigerian electorate don’t matter in the grand scheme of things when it comes to elections. The quicker we understand this the better for the opposition. 2: The opposition candidates were chosen in a snub to the zoning arrangement. You can’t disenfranchise a senatorial zone for 35 yrs 3: elections are about who can get the most votes, not who can speak English or who has the best ideas. Democracy is one man one vote. What is important to you does not have to be important to others. I said this in a previous post. The educated in Nigeria assume the arrogance of thinking that what matters to them matters to the farmer, the driver, the man in the village. That’s why they lose elections over and over again. The farmer in auchi does not care about your statistics, your GDP, your English grammar. All that stuff only appeals to the educated populace that are mostly based in the cities and tend not to come out to vote! And even when they do they are an inconsequential minority! For example most of the educated people from Edo do not live in Edi and are not registered to vote in Edo. I have said it many times here that no matter how many times you give PDP and it’s breakaway factions like Obi the expo for winning elections they will still mess up because they are born out of rigging. They’ve not had to use their brains to win elections. The more difficult it is to rig an election the worse the fate of PDP and its breakaway groups have been. Since the introduction of card reader and subsequent improvements to our electoral system , PDP has been imploding as a party. When I say PDP I mean the opposition both LP, NNPP and PDP because they are all fundamentally PDP in DNA. 4. You just lost a presidential election despite collectively having 6m more votes than APC and what do they do? They go and split votes again by choosing candidates from the same zone at a time when zoning is a sore topic? So stop blaming APC or INEC for the strategic blunders and failures of the opposition. Like you said Aapc has no business winning Edo if they do given the state of things just like APC had no business winning the presidency in 2023….but they did because the opposition are arrogant and incompetent!!! |
LP is a joke party |
Hundeyin has entered one chance. The way things are going, he will end up seeking assylum in North Korea. |
Kobojunkie:That’s fine. When I make an assertion I back it up. You can do better than just say you don’t agree. Prove it, show how I can rig and not leave evidence. |
