Kobojunkie:We are a very litigious society when it comes to elections. We have a system such that if you win an election and you are rigged out, the riggers cannot not hide the evidence. That’s as good an election system as you can get. Anybody telling you he lost an election in Nigeria because he was rigged and cannot prove it in court is lying! Because the system gives you all the evidence to prove rigging in court And that’s all an electoral system is required to deliver. Our system is better than the American system and better than the British, trust me! When I was in England you could register multiple times with any name you want in multiple addresses and vote without any ID. (That may have changed now) |
Kobojunkie:I am not conversant with imo politics. My point was to highlight that if you rig you will leave evidence and contrary to the propaganda propelled by election losers, our election system is one of the best in the world. If you are declared loser of an election and you truly won, the evidence of rigging cannot be hidden. It is really a travesty that instead of celebrating our electoral system as one of the best on the world. Election losers have managed to malign and demarket our election system. |
Kobojunkie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6hM59ZUt1o?si=DR3cDEGES57qdZio If you watch the video, (from around 21:00) he says if they only used the results from the PU where there was no rigging and cancelled the results from Uzodimma stronghold were there was massive rigging, I.e even removing some of Uzodinma’s legitimate votes, Uzodimma would still have won. This is a PDP chieftain saying clearly “PDP and LP were not competitive in the election” |
maxiuc:Please try to read and understand. I say it many times Nigerians sound dumb because they read but fail to comprehend the substance of what they read. I did not say people will not attempt to rig. I said rigging is futile. I said if you rig, you will leave evidence. Some people will rig and leave evidence but will still have won without the rigging. If you rig and you lost the evidence will be there for your opponent. I suggest you google Osita Chigoka’s brilliant analysis of recent governorship elections. Particularly his submission on IMO state. He confirmed what I said. There was massive rigging in Imo but Hope would have won even if those results were cancelled. Proving my point! The evidence of rigging was there and that is my point if you rig you will leave evidence. So if he lost there would be evidence. Hence it is difficult to rig an election in Nigeria successfully that you would not have won if you didn’t rig. Please try to comprehend what is being said! Watch the video below: he stated every polling unit where there was rigging for IMO, mentioned every single INEC staff by name responsible for the rigging at every polling unit or collation center (to show you cannot hide evidence of rigging) but concluded that even after expunging the results from PUs with rigging Uzodima still won. Note OSita is a PDP man! If you watch the video, (from around 21:00) he says if they only used the results from the PU where there was no rigging and cancelled the results from Uzodimma stronghold were there was rigging, Uzodimma would still have won. This is a PDP chieftain saying clearly “PDP and LP were not competitive in the election” |
Bobloco:People should stop believing or being moved by propaganda. I genuinely believe we have one of the most fool proof election systems in the world. I have said it many times and I repeat: You can attempt to rig but the system is such that you can’t get away with it especially in a hotly contested state. You will leave evidence of your rigging! You can write results but. BVAS must tally, form EC8A signed by party agents must tally, in a hotly contested state you cannot successfully rig. In a hotly contested state, opposition will have party agents at every PU and they will have copies of the original results. If you like alter it, or declare a different result, you are fooling yourself. The only way you can rig is to disrupt elections in your opponents stronghold such that results are cancelled. There are 2 ways I can think of: 1: Stop the election from holding through physical disruption thugs etc. This is a waste of time because if the results are tight and those polling units will make a difference, the election will be held again in those PU and if they are your opponents stronghold you have just. Wasted your time. 2: causing the elections to be cancelled in your opponents stronghold through over-voting. Though possible this is unlikely to happen because by definition this is an opponents stronghold with watchful eyes. So it is a futile effort trying to rig. The only places you can successfully rig are places where you really have no opposition in which case you would win without rigging. This is usually only possible or viable in presidential elections like we saw in the SE. If you rig and your rigging is consequential you will leave evidence for your opponent. This is the reason genuine losers don’t go to court to challenge the winner with evidence of rigging but instead try to disqualify them. |
ceejay10:Everybody knows he ordered the hit on 2pac. That is not even a subject of speculation anymore. If 2pac is your goat as you claim, you would know this already. Google “Keffe D”. |
So it turns out his father was a driver to Frank Lucas who was a notorious drug trafficker depicted in the film American Gangster starring Denzel Washington and was shot while sitting in his car execution style. The Apple never falls far from the tree. |
Listening to his senate confirmation hearing, it was clear not to expect much from him. |
The job of a leader is to make tough decisions even if unpopular, the job of a leader is to see what others cannot see. Just as Tinubu criticized Jonathan when he wanted to remove subsidy, so also his opponents are criticizing Tinubu now….that is what opposition politicians do. However the proof of the pudding is in the eating. None of those crying foul now over subsidy will reintroduce it if they are to gain power tomorrow.. Neither can any of them tell us how they intend to pay for the subsidy given our finances. On the issue of presidential jet and other lavish spending, I have said it many times, it is bad optics insensitive and undefendable. |
zionstaar75:You and Falana are ignoramuses. Is the deisel the tankers loading the petrol use to transport to fuel stations free? You are the one that doesn’t understand English. The price they bought from Dangote is the ex-gantry price, I.e the price at the DRL gate, so the issue of jetty, foreign exchange and the other nonsense you are spewing is irrelevant. |
DevilsEqual:This is the kind of nonsense talk that will cause petrol to rise and stay above N1000. What have these activists ever accomplished….think about it. If fuel is fully deregulated as Falana wants, PMS will sell for N1500 in some places, the only place where you will see petrol at N950 will be Lagos. |
AnaCheks:I have lost access to my DMs. |
DevilsEqual:Shehu Sani is like Falana, or Sowore. Being a social activist does not equate to having sensible ideas on running the country. The three of them perform their roles as opposition but their solutions are usually devoid of rational thinking. One reason many do not vote is because the candidates do not inspire the citizens. How does he propose the fines are enforced? How much will it cost to enforce the fines? How much compliance will be achieved after awarding contracts to private firms to enforce the fines because clearly the police/law enforcement agencies that can’t enforce simple laws in existence cannot be the ones to enforce the fines. Is it agencies that cannot prevent smuggling of petrol in tankers or importation of guns or simple traffic laws that will enforce 100m voters who refused to vote? |
Geometrix:Unfortunately there is no medicine for stupidity. |
LadiIshola: F117nighthawk:Your posts highlight what I said in a previous post on the matter. This is a PR exercise knowing that most Nigerians are ignorant and do not have 2brain cells between them. While one faction blames Dangote, the other will blame NNPC. The end game is that while you are blaming factions and taking sides, subsidy has now been totally removed. NNPC is happy, Dangote is happy, FGN is happy. Reminds me of a situation when I was young. 2 friends were sleeping with the same girl. The girl thought she was playing both guys but both guys knew. I was there one day when both guys were narrating how one day one of them called and she gave him some cock and bull story because the other guy was with her. The guys were comparing notes and playing along. The guys got what they wanted and it was the girl that got played. I will not be surprised if DRL and NNPC are comparing notes and laughing at the gullibility, ignorance and stupidity of many Nigerians!! Dangote is getting a market for his product at market rates, NNPC is no longer paying subsidies, FGN is getting g more revenue since NNPC is not paying subsidies. Nigerians don’t seem to realize they are now paying market price for PMS. In a few months, when Naira to Naira PMS rolls into town price may go down a bit possibly also as a result in the fall in crude prices and Nigerians will celebrate. This template has been used so many times……We are so predictable!! |
Geometrix:FACTS and FIGURES: 1. The landing price of PMS was always higher than the N600 selling price in Nigeria. Some say the landing price for NNPC was more than N1,000 when they were the sole importer. 2. This meant due to the removal of official subsidy, NNPC had been absorbing the shortfall. That practice had resulted in huge financial losses for NNPC and a situation where It could no longer “subsidize” PMS in the country having racked up $6b in debts. 3. DRL had been ref8ning diesel and supplying diesel to the local market at the free market unsubsidized rate of N900/ liter. It therefore doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that any PMS from Dangote at the same parameters (imported crude) would be +/-5% the price of their diesel. 4: NNPC has no intention of absorbing fuel subsidies anymore so the PR battle begins PR battle 1: the Nigerian public are largely ignorant, there are those who feel NNPC are crooks, they are those who believe Dangote is an exploitative monopolist. If you are able to successfully blame one of them for the inevitable increase there is no shortage of unthinking brain dead Nigerians who will buy into your narrative. 2: there are those who believe that Somehow Dangote refinery coming on steam will REDUCE the price of PMS. 3: the informed know that PMS prices have to go up, the battle now is a battle for who will take the blame in the eyes of the public. 4: NNPC published the price of PMS from Dangote in order to make the gullible public think that it is Dangote responsible for high petrol prices. It isn’t, the reason the prices have gone up is because NNPC are no longer absorbing subsidies. If anything Dangote’s price is lower than the landing price Of PMS imported by NNPC because there are no shipping costs etc. 5: Dangote responds by saying NNPC is being “mischievous” but interestingly do not publish any contrary figures because while DRL PMS is actually cheaper than previous Imported NNPC PMS, the figures NNPC published are correct. The real issue is that politically Dangote cannot afford to say PMS is high is because subsidy has been removed. They don’t want to be the one to say it. NNPC simply used the opportunity of the coming on stream of DRL to finally end any back door subsidy and pass the fallout on to Dangote by publishing the figures. It is a PR battle based on gullible citizens who do not understand the mechanics of PMS pricing. IMHO neither have done anything wrong. NNPC cannot afford and therefore is no longer subsidizing PMS and DRL is simply selling at market price. NNPC played a good hand by publishing the price and boxing them into a corner to which DRL can’t really respond. This is not about the facts and figures, it is about who will take the blame in the eyes of the public of the increase In PmS that has come to stay. It is a PR exercise! It is about eeediots like geometrix arguing and disturbing me “It is Dangote’s faul”, “it is NNpc’s fault” but in reality when it comes to the bottom line it is a win-win for both the NNPC and DRL as both of them are happy with the pricing and the govt is happy subsidy is now truly gone! It is about having simpletons and eeediots like Geometrix distracted and arguing over whose fault it is while quietly subsidy is removed totally. |
Geometrix:You are clearly a M0ron. You like many of your ilk clearly speak English but lack English comprehension. You woke me up with a post trying to rubbish my estimate of Dangote’s pms price. As it happens NNPC released a breakdown of the price of DRL PMS confirming my estimate. Instead of you to crawl into your corner, you start talking nonsense. When someone sees the price template released by NNPC and is then still asking “is it from DR?”, one has confirmation of one’s prior conclusions that one is dealing with a typical product of the failed education system in the country. There is nothing in the Dangote statement that refutes the prices released by NNPC. You clearly have a problem with English. Obviously your father is your mother’s brother, genetic disorders and brain defects are a consequence of such procreative abominations of nature. Consider this my last response to you as sadly Nairaland does not have an ignore button. For the record, many of you are confused because of the pandemic of English speakers who lack English comprehension in the country. You read but do not understand. The price released by NNPC is the price for PMS refined from imported Dangote crude. The price for Naira to Naira crude to PMS swap has not been released because the supply of that crude to DRL has not started. Dangote’s statement was deliberately ambiguous. NNPC stated the price categorically in an OFFICIAL statement, Dangote did not…why? Having poor English comprehension is one thing, having a low IQ is another. Put the two together and we get the buffooonery that is you and your ilk. You are the one who failed to understand the Dangote statement. All they had to do instead of hiding behind carefully crafted words was to release the figures if it was different from what NNPC stated. On this occasion Dangote was being mischievous because they know their audience are dumb….people like you. “Misleading” is not the same thing as “false”. Dangote can claim they aren’t selling to NNPC at N898 because they aren’t selling to them in Naira. DRL is merely playing on your intelligence. Why didn’t DRL say the $0.55/liter is misleading? All NNPC did was convert 0.55c to Naira. Idiots like you are too dumb to understand. And by the way it is not “sticked” to it, it is “stuck” to it. We have to teach them English as we communicate with them! This conversation which you chose to disturb me with this morning has nothing to do with 2%. It is simply a question of my estimate of price of imported Dangote PMS based on their selling price of N900 for diesel. The statement validated my est8mate and your post this morning was an attempt to rubbish it which you failed. There are 2 issues here the facts and the PR. The problem is Nigerians as exemplified by you, are too dumb to understand what is going on. It then becomes a PR battle as to who is responsible for the high price of PMS. The facts and the actual cost of PMS are sacred and the PR is merely about the ignorance of the populace. NNPC stated the facts and laid it bare, DRL could not respond with facts and used English knowing many of you are too dumb to understand. DRL did not have to but they know PR is important. Goood bye. |
Softmirror:Get away from here, go to your parents and say sorry for wasting their resources trying to educate you. Eeeediot! Stop disturbing me with eeediotic mentions. WTF is wrong with you on a Monday morning? How can one human being be so unintelligent? Kilode!,, |
Softmirror:I hope you now understand his comments about lazy journalists. One was $/MT, the other figure was N/liter.
|
Geometrix:Dangote PMS has been confirmed @ N898 based on imported crude! Is this not confirmation your education was a waste of time and resources? I had no access to NNPC or DRL info and yet I was able to give an accurate estimate. If you use your brain, these things are not rocket science. The problem is most of you have no brains and the rest refuse to use it. Do you not feel like an eeediot now? When people more intelligent than you are talking, shut up and learn! I told you stop disturbing me with unintelligent comments M0r0n!,,

Nonybb:The one you did with local people in your 4 refineries how is it going? |
Softmirror:You won’t understand what he is saying |
profmallor:If Singapore that has no crude can be a major refining hub and global supplier of refined products, same with India, then Dangote neither needs Nigerian crude not the Nigerian market. Ofcourse it is better for him but not needed. But We agree to disagree and move on. |
emkz:I have said this many times that the man’s desire to be in the headlines will be his undoing. 4 years is a lot of time for a man who keeps talking to expose his true character. |
ExAngel007:It only means you are a candidate and have a chance. And if he is hiding you from his mother his family, or worse still his friends just know you are strictly for entertainment. |
richmond500:Go and rest, this thing is clearly above your pay grade! |
GeneralDae:I am not aware of that. But even if that is the case it is just short term. By definition he makes more selling refined products than the cost of the crude. |
profmallor:You people do not understand the workings of the industry. Dangote can sell his petrol anywhere in the world. He has been exporting 97% of his diesel. The only reason NNPC is subsidizing petrol from DRL is the same reason they were subsidizing imported PMS. The cost of PMS is higher than the price the people are prepared to pay. Dangote does not have to sell his petrol in Nigeria or source his crude from Nigeria. It is not Dangote that needs Nigeria, it is Nigeria that needs Dangote. NNPC has simply said we will give you crude of x value and you will give us PMS of X value. We will then sell it at whatever price we like. |
richmond500:it does not. Don’t just make empty statements. Back it up with reasoning and facts /data. I have told you why he does not need Nigeria. Dangote has been producing diesel and jet-A1 since June. He has been exporting over 90% of it. He can do the same with petrol. He has been producing diesel for months, have you seen colorless diesel in the market?
|
Joshy4u:It’s “forge” not “furge”. “Exploits” not “exploit” Like I said about certificates…… |
Joshy4u:Observations have shown that educated Nigerians are often the most stoopid. For instance if you are so educated why is a man you call a drunkard your governor? Disavow yourself of this notion that educational qualifications/certificates mean anything. Nairaland is evidence that certificates simply mean you were able to regurgitate stuff in a particular subject area in your exams. Nairaland is proof that education is not equivalent to intelligence or critical thinking. The quality of your argument will speak for you not your certificates. Jelili my mechanic is very intelligent. He does not have o levels. If you have to tout your academic qualifications in an argument it is an indication you are struggling to articulate your point and are instead trying to bamboozle your audience. I come in peace! |
Minjim:You are the eeediot for commenting on matters above your pay grade! Dangote refinery does not need Nigeria to survive. Like I said ina post above, Dangote can import all its crude and export all its refined products. There is no shortage of willing international offtakers. Just the other day a Kenyan analyst was expressing his delight that Dangote is now onstream. It is Nigeria that needs a way to get petrol to the people at a price that will not cause them to revolt or price inflation. They only way they can do that is to do a deal with Dangote and that is why Dangote is the sole supplier. If Dangote were to sell his products at the market rate like his diesel, it is the same ignorant eeediots like you that will complain that the price is too high. Dangote does not need Nigerian crude or Nigerian market. His refinery is designed to handle crude from any source whether light or heavy and he will get a better price if he exports his PMS. It is you entitled brats who have been overdosed on subsidy that are having withdrawal symptoms paying the market price. Your neighbours in ordinary Niger, Cameroun, Benin etc are already paying market price and due to proximity Dangotes PMS will be cheaper for them. |
