Peter Obituary can never win the PDP presidential ticket in a free and fair election.

An aspirant without a sitting governor support, not even Igbo governor(s). The highest person I identified with his aspiration is Chief Doyin Okupe who has no electoral value.

If he likes, let him decamp to any party, he will not even come second in the general election.

He kick started too late for any serious minded aspirant. Let him learn his lessons.
As it stands, an ibo man cannotr win an election without Northern votes, he should have tried again with Atiku and let people especially Northerners get comfortable with him as VP in the same way an unknown Osinbajo has become a household name in the North because he had Buhari's trust. that would have been his audition!!! Instead he has just destroyed any hope of attaining the presidency for both himself and the PDP come 2023 because he has just decimated the votes of both camps, votes that even if he had stayed in PDP would likely not have been enough to unseat APC.

Do you see anybody with PDP ticket in Anambra quitting? the people who quit were people who lost in the primaries.

Nonsense most igbos in other regions don’t vote, & the ones who vote, vote in unison with the ruling party of the state they are in, follow follow mentality, ie Joseph Igbokwe of Lagos State.
You have hit the nail on the head. igbos are actually larger than they seem but they are mostly outside the SE. The result of that is 2-fold. 1) the SE as a physical region has lost it's political influence as a source of votes......believe it or not the recorded votes from the SE at the last election was one of the smallest if not the smallest of all the 5 regions. 2) an ibo man living outside the SE in a region dominated by an opposition party might be unmotivated to go out to vote against the prevailing party in that area because they can be identified and may become targets, so many living outside the SE stay at home....that may be different if they have someone on the presidential ticket though. However, no matter how many Ibos votes exist in Nigeria, they will need Northern votes...no Northerner is voting for an Ibo...and thats all you need to know about the prospects of an Obi or Ibo presidency.

This works in 2 ways: it could be we have underestimated the votes of the ibos outside the SE all these years because they do not vote because they have no skin in the game or they are to diversely spread out to make a difference.

The irony is I can bet you dont live or earn your living in the SE and whether you admit it publicly or not in your private moment you know I am right and that is what you find so painful. You cannot survive or flourish in the SE especially in the wasteland it has become thanks to IPOB.

you are digressing, your entire land mass is about the size of Oyo state so you need Nigeria to survive. Someone that got power due to Buhari's influence in 2015 and later thought he has arrived and has opinion. Since he left, e nor clear for im eyes? Like Peter Obi like Shehu Sani, Saraki, and Dino Melaye
Shehu Sani fought and was imprisoned by babangida for fighting for the actualisation of June 12, he was again jailed for life by Abacha .... so put some respect on his name!!!! If you want to yap people like Obi, Dino, Saraki etc fine but Shehu Sani is a true patriot. We are enjoying the fruits of his sacrifices, the others have not done anything for anybody except themselves. He is a twitter politician only because of the kind of politics we run in Nigeria. It is because of the struggle of people like Sani that Buhari is able to become a civilian president in Nigeria.

This foolish attention seeker, I didn't bother reading his rubbish!

Look at a so-called Mr know-all always sounding like a primary 6 pupil.

The truth is that Peter Obi realized that Wike and Atiku were going to use stolen dollars to bribe delegates instead of supporting their best chance at winning the election. They couldn't rise above their personal selfish interests for the common good of the party.

All those army of youths across Nigeria that saw Peter Obi as their new hope are going to descend heavily on PDP same with Igbos that saw Peter Obi as their chance to rule Nigeria.

Since this charlatan who goes about arrogating to himself as Mr know-all doesn't even know basic common sense, then it shows how senseless and delusional he is.
PDP wants to win the presidency 1st, Tambuwal and Bala Muhammed have said as much, you need a candidate that can win or gives them the best chance to win!! What is clear from your post is that Obi is largely an ethnic candidate. you have mentioned "Igbo" "igbo" so many times and there is the problem with Peter Ibo..in the same way you subconsciously see Obi as an Ibo candidate, so also the Northern voters. Nobody can win an election in Nigeria without the support of the Northern masses. Yes there are some youths in the SW and other places who support Obi but his fan base is largely Igbo. I challenge you to persue tsocial media and look at the names of of Obi's supporters, they are all from the south, you wont find any northerner supporting Obi. The Northern masses are not going to vote for an Igbo as president and PDP cannot afford to give Obi the ticket, this is just the reality of where the Ibos are in the political landscape of Nigeria. It is a catch 22 for PDP, Obi has growing support in the South but none in the North but even his southern support is no good to PDp because for every supporter he picks in the south he loses 2 or 3 in the north. Without Obi PDP have damaged their chances unless APC self implode but with him as their flagbearer they had no chance in the 1st place........Know this and know peace!!!

What you think of obi is not material. nobody cares if he is the best thing since sliced bread if the people with the votes wont vote for him then it is story. people talk about how Awolowo was the best president Nigeria never had but he was never able to get the votes where it mattered. VOTES WIN ELECTIONS!!!!

I can bet my balls that Now that Peter obi is no longer in PDP. PDP will not even get up to 5,000 votes come 2023! angry

The reason pdp got up to 11 million votes in 2019 was because of Peter obi. This is nothing but the plain truth.

However, we Nigerians have decided that it is Peter obi we want. Any party he goes, we'll all troops in and vote massively for him.

Welcome our incoming president Peter Ahmed Balogun Obi. President Federal Republic of Nigeria come 2023!
you must be a comedian. Obis' exit will damage PDP hopes for the presidency in 2023 but dont be deceived, look at the votes for Jonathan in SE in 2015 and look at the votes for PDP with Obi in 2019. Obi actually lost votes for PDP in 2019 in the SE. The man is actually not an electoral asset most likely because his supporters are largely urbane ibos who reside and are registered voters outside of the SE whose and votes therefore make no meaningful impact in their states of residence or in the SE.

This is the real story - Nigeria is a mono economy and will function just fine if the SE is walled off.

Mend have the ability to shut off or disrupt oil supplies. The north tried playing some foolish games with food.

But what exactly does Nigeria as a country lose if the SE falls into anarchy?

This is why it is continously clear that kanu, Ekpa, ngozi wetin call are all a gang of rank amateurs who have no plan beyond anarchy. Kill government workers, kill people doing business with government, kill non indigens, kill saboteurs

Every day, these clowns are reducing the importance of the SE in the national scheme of things
The irony is that the ibos need Nigeria more than any other tribe. They are businessmen and they need the market a nation of 200m offers them, their whole land mass is smaller than Oyo state so it is not big enough for them which is why they own properties and make their homes all over Nigeria.

Obi can and will never win any election in this country again cos he’s a lightweight and has little electoral value. PDP may not win next year election but they stand to produce a President in future and they will do so before Obi actualizes his dream of becoming one himself. Peter Obi was never going to liberate anyone. IMHo the support for peter Obi is borne out of 2 things, tribe and ignorance. Tribe is self explanatory but the ignoramuses cannot till today tell me what his achievement in Anambra was. the man saved money only for his successor to embezzle, is that a wise and prudent leader? Would he not have been better to saddle the government with debt and even borrow to build roads, hospitals and other visible infrastructure so that there is no money for the successor to steal because he is busy paying debt and the people have infrastructure? He boats he has only 2 shoes and his 31 son doesnt have a car, is that something to be proud of? When he was governor the IGR of ANAmbra decreased but they convinientely ignore it. All we hear is "in morocco", "in china" what of "in Anambra" when you were governor...what did you do what is your legacy, what did you do that people of Anambra are still enjoying today? these are the kind of question we fail to ask that lead to presidents like Buhari.

The good thing about peter Obi is that he was never going to win or else people will find out he is just the same as Buhari,,,people are so desperate for change they vote for anyone without a critical analysis of his rhetoric/record.

Witch hunting taking too far
what witch hunting?

“The move followed the refusal of the former governor to honour invitations after jumping the administrative bail earlier granted him by the commission.

“ EFCC had on January 24, 2022 filed a 17-count criminal charge bordering on diversion of public funds and properties to the tune of N2.9billion against Okorocha.

“ The case was assigned to Honourable Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja but attempts to arraign Senator Okorocha were twice stalled owing to the absence of the ex-governor who evaded service of processes.

“At the last adjourned date, March 28th, 2022, Justice Ekwo before adjourning until May 30th, 2022, had warned that it was “the last adjournment I shall grant in this matter”.

“In the circumstances, the commission is left with no option than to effect the arrest of Senator Okorocha and bring him to trial.”

Rochas was not arrested for interrogation, he was arrested because he repeatedly failed to appear in court for his trial and the judge ordered the EFCC to produce him in court. He has already been interogated and charged but repeatedly failed to attend court. He jumped bail so he is under arrest and will remain under arrest so that the EFCC can produce him in court for his trial whenever that is.

Understand that Rochas was arrested because he jumped bail and failed to appear in court for trial!!!!!! There is nothing to interogate his case is already in court!!!

When you were thinking of mentioning Rochas and Ojukwu, something in your brain did not cause you to pause? Who was Rochas at that time? Ojukwu was finished, none of them had the profile of Obi has today, besides those were heavily rigged elections. you might as well have mentioned Onu the current minister of pencils.

1. An ibo man cannot become president of Nigeria
2. Obi's defection has damaged PDP, there is no way PDP produces the president in 2023. this is not sentimental, it's about the numbers.
3. Ibos in particular will vote enmasse for peter Obi wherever he goes Obi but he will not get enough votes to damage APC, all it will do is reduce the PDP votes in the south and hence damage PDP.

Know these things and know peace in your life.

He has just killed PDP and handed victory to APC..unless ofcourse APC self-implode in the next few days.

Having seen the resignation letter of Peter Obi from PDP which confirmed his exit from the party and withdrawal from the party’s presidential race, I’m tempted to question the rationale behind that decision.

I’m an ardent supporter of Peter Obi but I think that if he has truly resigned from the PDP, then he has goofed; it’s a complete faux pax for him.

Because I do not see any other platform that can possibly grant him victory in the general election.

Remaining in PDP would have guaranteed either the presidential ticket or vice presidential ticket which would have brought him closer to the presidency.

As we wait to confirm if this is fake or true, and to know Obi’s next move, I make bold to say that this decision, if confirmed, was a miscalculation.
before Obi left, If PDP were to win, at best, i.e via a miracle they would win by 55%-45%....thats like a landslide which was never going to happen! However by leaving and contesting under another party, Obi has removed his supporter's votes from the PDP column as they will vote for him in the new party.... since Obi's resignation has no effect on APC votes and PDP and OBi's new party will have to share the 55% the net result is canibalise PDP votes and to hand victory to APC.

Whether miscalculated or calculated he's the next president of Nigeria .Wherever he goes, we'll all vote him massively. We Nigerians can afford to loose this golden opportunity.
People should try to comment with a bit of intelligence. Peter Obi candidacy was always a long shot, PDP overcoming APC (whoever the candidate may have been) was always going to be an uphill task. What he has done if he intends to contest on another platform is to split PDP votes, peter Obi is very popular (whether he ever had enough votes to win even in PDP is debatable but what is certain now is that he will take away votes from people who would have voted PDP but will not have enough votes in another party to win. Common sense should tell anyone that!!! The net result will be his paew party wont get enough votes and PDP will have less votes thus aiding an APC victory....unless they themselves self implode

The most stupid thing he could ever have done but then, he has a record of jumping from one party to another. I have personally not bought into the whole Peter Obi narrative and rhetoric. Ask his fans to tell you what exactly his legacy in Anambra is and they cant point to anything besides the education ranking went up during his tenure. What exactly is his signature infrastructure project, nobody can answer, they talk about prudence but is it not the money he supposedly saved that Obiana has now chopped, would Anambrans have been better off if he left the state in debt but left behind infrastructure he can pint to? I keep telling people all this talk of "i saved money", to what end? nobody elected you to save they elected you to spend wisely on infrastructure. A man who thinks it is a thing to be proud of that his 30 yr old son doesnt have a car, abeg if the 30yr old son of a billionaire has not been raised well enough to buy his own car you have failed as a father!! All we ever hear from him is "I have 2 shoes", "in japan", in morocco, in china etc etc...when you were in govt what did you do....nothing!!! Under himthe IGR of Anambra went down!!!

if you actually put the man under a microscope he is nothing but hot air!!!
