Politics › Re: Opinion: My Permutations For Candidates For The Apc Presidential Ticket by casualobserver: 8:57pm On Jun 05, 2022
Massiveglory:
Chief Bola Tinubu. 2.5/10
Tinubu has little or no chance for being the Apc candidate. From the world go, they never wanted him to have it. The ranting that happened few days ago only gave them more ways to deal with him.
From my crystal ball, the only way he will get the ticket is if they have decided to do a Jonathan on him by going in droves for atiku.

Chief Ogbonaya onu. 3/10
Ogbonaya onu, the eastern chief is a dark horse in the race.
He also has slim chance. But being a reliable longtime friend of Pmb , anything can happen.

Yayaha Bello: 2.5/10.
Yaya Bello should not be overlooked. He is young, bold and has been working seriously. Politics is a funny game and Suprises are not in short supply.

Ahmed Lawan. 5.7/10
In today's politics, the senate President has a good chance of clinching the ticket. He is the only northern still holding on for it, and the northerns can do a Last minute convergence and support for their own. Also the northeast where he comes from has not produced a president , so he has that advantage.

Prof. Osinbanjo 5.8/10
For me, the Vice President has a good chance of being the candidate. He is loved across borders to a good extent.
The main obstacle I see for pastor, is the perception that he is from tinubu. I know the cabals do not fancy tinubu.

Rotimi Ameachi: 5.9/10
If the Apc is serious on a southern candidate for their ticket, Rotimi Ameachi for me has the brightest chance for picking the ticket. His names alone is a mixture and balance of the south.
He is lively man and has a visible connection to the president and the cabals. He delivered twice for Pmb as his campaign director and so has a good chance.

Umahi, Fayemi, Akpabio and the rest: 2/10.
I don't see them as pulling any strings. But never say never in politics. Anything can happen.
An emotional rant without any intellectual input. The fact that you rate Lawan so highly when the party has zoned to ticket to the south shows the level of your ability to reason. No to even mention that you score Ogbonnaya Onu who comes from the same CPC as Buhari higher than Tinubu shows you have either not engaged your brain or you don’t have much of one. Amaechi is a good shout but the problem with Amaechi is that he comes from the same faction as the party chairman ….NPDP.

Nobody knows who is going to get it but it will likely be someone from the ACN, hence the SW 99%. In the 1% chance it does not go to the SW because the SW self implode out of treachery, then it will go to Amaechi.

Abeg stop derailing.
its not derailing, these things are a result of the US invasion of libya, all these weapons are from Libya. You are supporting US in Ukraine but already US supplied weapons are being sold on the dark web by Ukranian criminal gangs as we speak.
The taliban that controlled Afghanistan pre 2001, that became a refuge to islamic terrorism that led to Sept 11 attacks and the resulting spinoffs that exist today inclusding Boko haram, who armed them in the 1st place? It was the US that armed them to help them fight the soviet union in 1979. Same thing in Sudan. Same thing in Syria.

This is what the US and the west do, they will arm anybody that is their enemy's enemy because they dont want to put US troops on the ground, when the war ends these people usually unsavoury characters themselves now become an armed group causing a new set of problems. These terrorists are not herdsmen and most are not Nigerians to start with.

Look after your own interests and stop blindly suppporting the west. Today's massacre will not make any news headline anywhere in the west!!! >>>but any small shooting in the US we will open thread on nairaland.

Tinubu will perform far better than Ameachi going by their records in office.
what is special about osinbajo? he in incharge of the economy and after 7 years our gdp is the same as it was when he assumed office. What is his signature acheivement in office. Dont tell me he was vice and had no power because we can point to many things Achieved by Atiku as VP even though he was fighting his boss, Atiku will finish Osinbajo in a debate because he has nothing to show!!!!

I have said it and I will say it again, if I ever decide to join active politics, i pray to have a supporter like Kashim Shettima. He’s the most loyal person in Tinubu’s camp and he doesn’t take prisoners.

His Channels TV interview yesterday was a master stroke after the uneasiness that followed the Ogun state campaign. He said everything that needed to be said without caring about anybody’s feelings.

Lawan and others should take their L in peace. They can’t win so they should stop acting as spoilers. The party must come together to support the only candidate that has what it takes to confront and defeat Atiku.
Whatever your political views, irrespective of the outcome, in this journey of life, we should all pray that God give us people like Shettima in our lives and not people like Osinbajo. You want someone that will stand firm and support you even when you bleeped up as opposed to someone who you ask to look after your house when you are away and tries to change the C of O to his name.

This was actually what you said which I responded to. If you said he has nothing to lose, yet you say if he loses, it'll be a total loss for him even in the SW, then what you meant to say is that he has everything to lose

The fact that he has everything to lose will make him do all he can to win this.

(I understand the point you are coming from, and I apologize if my wordings were not easy to understand)
jesus wept!!!

you need to understand the difference between nothing to lose and everything to gain. You cant lose what you dont have i.e presidency or what you dont care about...the leadership of the SW!! I haave said the leadership of the SW was only a tool for his ultimate goal, even the alledged looting of lagos was all in preparation for becoming president not for personal gain, he isnt a flamboyant person. Tinubu at the moment has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Go for a refresher course in English!!!!!

All the godfatherism was to acheive his ultimate aim. He said it yesterday in Abeokuta, his carrying others all these years has made him a constant user of pain killers, i.e the burden is much. if he cannot acheive his aim, he will reitire because he is clearly not interested in being a regional godfather carrying other people with no goal for him. Like I said once you reach the summit it is downhill from there no matter what. Tinubu wont go from national leader to regional leader, this is it, he wins or he is finished.

you need to upgrade the type of girls you hang out with...it is a poor reflection on you. 1) that she is flashing you and 2) that she doesnt know how whatsapp works. I means you hang out with hungry dull girls.

NigeriaB:
If Yemi Osinbajo dies not get the ticket, then APC should cease to exist.
try to post with intelligently and not with emotion. Osinbajo may have support among sections of the populace but he is a non-entity amongst the rank and file of the party....dont confuse the two. Also do not confuse deference for the office for true respect and follwership. If a serving vice president summons you or comes to visit, you will accord him the respect his office demands, that does not mean respect for the person, dont get carried away confusing the 2. Bola Tinubu has been out of power for 15 years, the crowds you see are real. Osinbajo's crowds are largely because he is a sitting vice president. When he leaves office in 2023, let him try and contest and we'll see his true followership.

if Osinbajo really had followership among the party, he would not be relying on annointing Oil. Osinbajo is inconsequential to APC (the party) dont confuse online supporters with "the party"!

You can say If Osinbajo does not get the ticket, APC may lose votes and I wont argue with you, the extent of those votes will remain to be seen but, his failure to get the ticket will not affect the party. He has no structure, so what does he have to take away from the party? Most of the osinbajo supporters are not card carrying members to begin with. The man lost his polling booth in VGC in 2019. He is only just moved to Ogun and whatever structures he is relying on in Ogun belong to the Governor not him.

You're wrong saying Tinubu has "nothing" to lose. Is Tinubu ready to forgo Lagos State and other states he has influence in? If yes, then truly he has nothing to lose
Everything Tinubu has worked for is to become president, his hold on Lagos and the SW is in preparation for this moment. Do you think if he fails he will have any interest in going back to being a regional leader? If he fails even his grip on the SW will be damaged. Who have you seen knowing that his dream of reaching the summit is over or attaining president is interested or goes back to being a local champion? Tell me anywhere in the world where an ex-president or an aspirant who's hope of becoming president is permanently dashed goes back into regional politics. Please name 1!!! it's do or die!! He either succeeds or he is finished.......even in the SW!!!!

MASTAkiLLAh:
I watched a video of Tinubu in Ogun state yesterday where he made disparaging comments against President Buhari and other politicians including the Ogun state governor.

There's freedom of speech I agree but Tinubu should remember that politicians are a very vindictive specie of human beings, you might be the one who brought them to power but insulting them might force them to exercise that power on you.

So my question once again, is Tinubu ready for this fight he started? He who comes to equity must come with clean hands.
The question you should ask is are the people trying to double cross him ready for the fight they started because Bola Tinubu has nothing to lose. The worst person to fight is a powerful man with nothing to lose...just like Putin. For Bola Tinubu it is now or never.

You people are too myopic to not see the truth in what Orji Kalu said.

The South claims power rotation for fairness and equity but still can't allow the South East to take it.
South South and South West are still fighting for it.

For goodness sake if the South cannot be fair and give it to the SE then there is nothing like fairness and equity.

Anyone who can't see the truth in Kalu's position is a shameless hypocrite.
The problem with the SE is that the SE themselves are not united. If a APC zones to the SE, even the SE will vote against him and vote Atiku. The only way the SE produces a president is a repeat of what happenned in 1999 because the betrayal and sabotage will start from the SE. The SE should stop using the same tired failed emotional blackmail strategy and 1st get their house in order. To start with their leaders and elite neeed to stop embracing IPOB and openly condemn what is happening and the separatist agenda. You cant eat your cake and have it.

The Minority leader of the Senate stood surety for Kanu, a man declared a terrorist by the same government in which you are a principal officer, Soludo went to vist Kanu in prison but did not think he should stop and visit the president...it shows where their sentiments lie and you will come here talking of SE president, are we fools?

The injustice in this country is too much. Allow igbos to rule they say no, allow them to secede in peace, they say no. I am not Igbo, but if Igbo doesn't produce the next president, God will punish any idiot that say rubbish against Igbos seceding.
The right to secede through a referendum was in the constitution of Nigeria at independence. It was the Ibos themselves when Ironsi came to power that drafted the law through Ben Nwabueze that removed the right to secede from our constitution because they wanted to prevent others from leaving. The northerners simply did not add it back in subsequent constitutions and why would they? Don’t feel sorry for the Ibos, if you want to feel sorry for anyone, feel sorry for the others who do not want to be in Nigeria but are stuck because of what the Ibos did. The fate of the Ibos is self inflicted.
