IslamRe: What Are Muslims Scared Of? by Cayon(f): 12:59pm On Sep 28, 2008
Mu$lims are afraid of the truth. The Quoran teaches that the Holy Bible is the preserved Word of God. They just don't want to accept it. . . . hence they are scared of the truth

Christianity EtcY God Choose The Jews Knowing They Are Greedy & Envious?Genesis 12:2-3 by Cayon(op): 12:50pm On Sep 28, 2008
every Jewish person I interact with seems to be envious and greedy.

I work with Russian Jews - envious and greedy
I work with German Jews - envious and greedy
American Jews - envious and greedy
Israel jews -- envious and greedy

The all have one thing in common (envy and greed) but some how they don't get along.  Every thing they see they want.  Now an Italian Jew just start working with us.  Within 4 days he is IMing me about another coworker saying "the boss should give him the other coworker position."

Some years ago I bought my house, a Jewish man asked me to sell it to him.  Not that he needed a house but his mentality that a girl like me shouldn't have a big house. . . .he was even willing to offer much more.  I just slammed my door in his face.  Oh yea,  My first boss who was Jewish too couldn't stand me. . . . . but God answered my prayer and they fired his backside.

I know the Bible say "they" are God chosen people, but tell me why these folks so darn envious and greedy?  The other day this German jew said "Jews suffered this amount of years.  I told him "you suffered" but we (Blacks) are still suffering. I shouldn't think  huhbut i wish there was a modern day Hitler
Christianity EtcRe: Catholics And Confession by Cayon(f): 1:25am On Sep 28, 2008
Because of the recent developements regarding priests and their conduct, it made me wonder how many of them are in that booth spanking it while people tell their dirty little secrets.

Saying this, you're much better going directly to the Father in heaven if you need to confess something. He is faithful and just to forgive you from your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Of course, if you're just interested in what the catholics do out of pure curiousity, then I understand, but just remember that no earthly person can forgive our sins. Only God can do that.

Italian Boy's Confession

Bless me Father, for I have sinned. I have been with a loose girl".

The priest asks, "Is that you, little Joey Parisi ?"

"Yes, Father, it is."

"And who was the girl you were with?"

"I can't tell you, Father, I don't want to ruin her reputation."

" Well, Joey, I'm sure to find out her name sooner or later, so you may as well tell me now. Was it Tina Minetti?"

"I cannot say."

"Was it Teresa Volpe?"

"I'll never tell."

"Was it Nina Capelli?"

"I'm sorry, but I cannot name her."

"Was it Cathy Piriano?"

"My lips are sealed."

"Was it Rosa Di Angelo, then?"

"Please, Father, I cannot tell you."

The priest sighs in frustration. "You're very tight lipped, Joey Parisi, and I admire that. But you've sinned and have to atone. You cannot be an altar boy now for 4 months. Now you go and behave yourself."

Joey walks back to his pew, and his friend Franco slides over and whispers, "What'd you get?"

"4 months vacation and five good leads."

BusinessDo You Have An account With Washington Mutual? by Cayon(op): 5:57pm On Sep 27, 2008
God help us, so now my account will eventually be integrated with JP Morgan Chase. I don’t know if anyone other than me has an account with Washington Mutual, but I thought I would let anyone who does. I wanted to make sure I could get my money out but i did some checking first.
First of all the bank didn’t actually crash,as the media makes it sound.
The government seizure was designed to stop that from happening.,to keep
depositors from losing any money.
The FDIC had anticipated a crash, and sold shares to J.P. Morgan,
and then told bank officials they were taking over.
They were taken completly by surprise,
and didn’t have time to take the money and run like so many other corporations had done.
The money from J.P Morgan went back into Washington Mutual to guarantee that every one will get their money.
There will be no interruption in the operation of the bank, and all cards and pin numbers will remain the same as they were.
The only problem is not with the bank, but with scared businesses that may refuse to take any personal checks withWashington Mutual on them.
So far the government still owns the bank, and J.P Morgan only holds $1.9 billion in stocks, and not even uninsured depositors will lose any money

@A1

Speaking of sorrel, its one of my favorite drinks. This is a drink mostly used at Christmas time by Caribbean folks. Every caribbean country has their own way of making sorrel. Now that i am in the USA, i make it at Thanksgiving, Christmas or when I am having a party. in fact I think I have some in my fridge. I am hosting thanksgiving this year so I'll try the Zobo recipe

Peace

Sorrell Drink

1 lb sorrel sepals
Piece of dried orange peel
1 oz ginger
Piece of spice (stick)
1/4 pt rum
1 gal. boiling water
2 lbs sugar
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp rice

Put dried sorrel, ginger, orange peel, stick of cinnamon, rice and whole cloves in a jar or plastic bucket and pour boiling water over it. when cool, cover and leave for 2 days. strain liquid and add sugar and rum. Refrigerate and serve cold.

Christianity EtcRe: What Makes Your Church Better Than Others by Cayon(f): 11:07am On Sep 27, 2008
@Poster:

it depends on your interpretation of church. Jesus made it clear, that the church was the followers, not the building. No where in the Bible were the Christians EVER told to rebuild the church, and go to a church building, they worshiped in their homes. This is what Jesus came to do, was to bring religion to a personal relationship not dogma.

Anyone can have a personal relationship with God in the privacy of themselves- be that home, work, your car, walking down the street, etc.  The Church is just a building.  Its your personal relationship with God and to be Christ like. It's what you do in your everyday life that matters.
What beliefs are in the head and heart and the way people behave towards others and all aspects of life matter more.
Some unpleasant people go to churches and religious institutions so attending them doesn't make anyone a good or better person.
Church may be fine for worshipping but attending it doesn't make better people. The truth is, we have too many one day Christians. i.e   church goers who forgot their religion for the other six days a week.  We call them Sunday Christians lipsrsealed

Prayer for Sleep Despite Fears

O Lord, my nighttime fears are very real,
but so, too, is your love for me.
Help me take into my heart your desire for my safety,
and bring upon me a nightly peace
that erases all my anxiety and lets me sleep calmly,
to awaken refreshed
and fearful no more.

To Have Generous Hearts

Father, I pray for (name one or more) and others in my circle of family and friends to be generous people,

May their generosity begin with You as they give You their tithes and offerings, believing Your promise that as they do, You will throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that they'll not have room enough for it. (Malachi 3:8–10)

Help them grow in the grace of giving, giving to others as much as they are able, willing to give even beyond their ability because they trust in You and have given themselves to You according to Your will. May they be generous, always willing to hear the cry of the poor and willing to share. (2 Corinthians 8:7b; Romans 12:6, 8b; 2 Corinthians 8:2–5; Proverbs 21:13; 22:9; 1 Timothy 6:18)

May they sow generously and reap generously—pressed down, shaken together, and running over! Help them be cheerful givers to those in Christian service, and then supply all their needs from Your riches in Christ Jesus. (2 Corinthians 9:6; Luke 6:38; Philippians 4:15–19)

Help them to give beyond their means. In Jesus' name, Amen.
