I don' know what I am anymore. All i can tell you is - My mother is of european decendants (white) but was born in the caribbean. She met a lying black man from Nigeria. I was born. Peace |
@DZ Circumcision was part of the old law of Moses and yes there was a covenant b/tween God and Abraham. Hwever, at Christ death and resurrection the law of moses was done away. Personally I can't say if Jesus was circumcised and I have not read a bible verse on it. However, its cultural for Jews to circumcise and Jesus was a Jew. If He was a man who really believed in the Jewish culture - then I'll say yes. ![]() Maybe the experts Davidlan, missb, ako, lady et al can venture more Peace |
With a potential buyout of Lehman Brothers - is anybody considering investing in Lehman options (calls or puts) or even buying stock in the company. Call me gutsy but I gambled and bought a future position. I am just waiting for Tuesday to see the outcome. http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5hxEeaW4uGo086bAifTpKwz-qW1Cw |
@ E-star This thead is from 2007. I like he video. Anyway, after reading some of the comments - all I can say is wow!! |
Thanks. We are getting along real fine now. I am going through this Culture section and I am in shock and awe of some of the things I am reading. Anyway, I don't want to be too judgemental based on what I am reading. Charity begins at home. From my personal experience (since i joined), the way how I see some men carry-on (angry, disrespectful and nasty) on this forum - I wonder if they are married or have girlfriends. And if they are, I wonder what's going on in their homes. Peace |
Are you allowed to send private IMs on this forum? if so, how? |
@mykali I'll save this thread until my visit to Nigeria. I'll be staying in two places - Victoria Island and Ikeja. I was telling someone about this thread and how some folks reacted. Below is what they say. But I like their last sentance Peace There are just two main things you will need to get use to. 1. Daily and constant interruptions in electricity supply. (here they call it NEPA) 2. Traffic is BAD due to poor road, too many motorcycles and old vehicles and absolutely no traffic rules. In Nigeria, Lagos is probably the safest compared to the eastern region with oil conflicts and the northern regions with religious conflicts. As with any other developing countries it has it's share of problems with corruptions, fraud and crime but it's really far safer than South Africa. The good news are The weather is mild and there is literally no natural diseaster of any kind. No volcanoes, earth quakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, sunami etc. Pretty much everything is negotiable, freedom takes on a different meaning here. Although you wouldn't want to push it by running around on some dark roads (which is 90% of all roads) by yourself late at night. BTW, you wouldn't have to worry about genetically engineered food or mad cow here. Some fruits like pawpaw, banana, pineapple, mango, grapefruit and onions are THE BEST in the world and I've been around, really. So judge for yourself |
Hmm, I wonder what's the difference between facts and Truth? |

Well I have decided to stop eating pork, shell fish completely. gradually I am going to cut out eating all meat but I have to first wrestle with my mind to stop eating fish and chicken. Today, I am going to cook Tofu meatloaf. I love tofu and only eat it when I go out for dinner or lunch at my work place. Looking forward to cooking my first tofu meal Peace |
well y'all better get use to this half white, half black, mixed, mulatto, half breed - whatever y'all want to call me because I am not going anywhere. I will speak my mind as I see it fit. The most I am going to do is follow the rules and regulation of the board and try my best not to disrespect the admin or mods Peace |
I just hate when people pretend to be cheese when they are sausage. I am from the c'bbean and I am not afraid to say that many c'bbean areas don't have electricity sometimes. I have not visit Nigeria yet, but are you guys telling me that at no time the electricity don't go out in Nigeria. Oh please, spare me. By the way, when I typed this I expected this reaction from some folks hence I won't respond directly. Ngauge, no need to explain because I am not intimidated by no one To the haters, I say "Get Well Soon" |

A dude name tufe was living in rural Nigeria in a community that had no electricity supply. One evening he was reading his Bible (Macabee version) and meditating, assisted by lighting from a bedside lamp, but was bothered by the constant nuisance of some mosquitoes. He couldn't bear it no longer so he decided to cover up under his sheet in bed, but it was useless as the mosquitoes kept biting him on his ears through the sheet. He got up and blew out the lamp and went back under the sheets, hoping that the mosquitoes would not be able to bother him if they could not see him. The Mosquitoes did not bite him for a few minutes giving tufe hope that his so-called plan had worked out perfectly. Now he was only hearing the constant "humming' of them flying around in the room. It was getting real hot under the sheets, so tufe decided that he would take off the sheet as it was too dark for the mosquitoes to see him now. When he removed the sheets, lay on his back and looked up in the ceiling, he saw a Firefly flying around. Tufe shouted out "OH Bleep DE MOSQUITOES CUM BACK WID FLASHLIGHT FI BITE ME |
@david I echo your sentiments Peace |
Since Abraham was from the land of Urr, I want to belief that Abraham practice Judaism seeing he was Hebrew. Judaism came through Isaac whom God clearly identified as the chosen seed. Isaac sired many generations that eventually led to King David and Jesus of Nazareth. (Christ) Islam did not exist until the 7th century AD, therefore he could not have been Muslim. O'll be visiting the mosque on Friday. Out of respect I bought a long dress (not too fitting) and I ordered a stylish hat to wear . I'll let you knw what the experience is likePeace

Its sad to see, that in this day and age people still believe in this mumbo jumbo crap Ga 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Ga 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Ga 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. |
No Underwear A Ghanian, South Afrikan, and a Nigerian man went for a round of golf and their wives went along as caddies. While walking around the course the Ghanian wife caught her foot in a rabbit hole, tripped, and fell. Her skirt was over her head revealing that she wasn’t wearing any panties. The Ghanian man angrily demanded to know why she wasn’t wearing any underwear. "Well, dahlin," she explained, "you give me so little money that I hav' to make sacrifices. Usually nobody does notice." The Ghanian man pulls $100 out of his pocket. "Tek dis nah, go Victoria Secrets and buy yourself some underwear" Two holes further along the South Afrikan wife caught her foot on a molehill, tripped and fell. Her skirt was up over her head revealing that she wasn’t wearing any panties either! The South Afrikan man, obviously upset, asked his wife why she isn't wearing underwear. "Well, honey," she explained, "you give me so little money I can't afford to buy any underwear." The South Afrikan man pulls $20 out of his pocket. Go a K-mart and buy some underwear." Three holes further on, the Nigerian man's wife caught her foot on an exposed root, tripped and landed with her skirt over her head revealing that she too wasn't wearing any panties. Her explanation to her vex husband was the same as the others. The Nigerian man put his hand into his pocket and said, "Here's a comb. The least you could do is to keep it neat." ![]() |

Thank you Moyola @Chris Read Moyola's email, that's my final answer to you It is Short, Simple and Sweet (SSS) ![]() Peace |
@chris You can not have an intelligent discussion with a person who think that there is no proof of God's existence, or people that think that there is proof of no God. There is a common x in this case, but the dogma of the entrenched positions does not allow of a logical deduction on y, so you end up with an argument rather than a debate. I'll answer your email on homosexuality later Peace |
difference between desperation and determination What is the difference between desperation and determination? The difference comes from having a positive, meaningful direction. The energy of desperation is wasted on self-pity and negativity. That can lead to destructive behavior, which only makes the sense of desperation worse. Yet by choosing a positive orientation, you can always transform the self-defeating energy of your desperation into solid, potent determination. By applying that energy toward a positive purpose, you can make great and valuable improvements in your world. If you become dismayed, discouraged or even desperate, recognize that there's a positive opportunity. For it signals that you are ready and willing to be genuinely determined. And when determination fuels your actions, those actions bring real results. Persistence, effectiveness and power flow naturally and solidly from purposeful determination. Just one step away from desperation is the energy of determination. Take that step, and put all that energy to good use. source: greatday inspiration |
Prayer to Live With Grace May we discover through pain and torment, the strength to live with grace and humor. May we discover through doubt and anguish, the strength to live with dignity and holiness. May we discover through suffering and fear, the strength to move toward healing. May it come to pass that we be restored to health and to vigor. May Life grant us wellness of body, spirit, and mind. And if this cannot be so, may we find in this transformation and passage moments of meaning, opportunities for love and the deep and gracious calm that comes when we allow ourselves to move on. - Rabbi Rami M. Shapiro |
