Christianity EtcRe: When Is Jesus God And When Is He Christ? by Cayon(f): 1:33pm On Aug 09, 2008
@ huxley

Read your Bible. You would see that God and Jesus were never ever the same person. God was the Creator, JC his son and the Holy Ghost. Jesus did not become a part of the Holy Ghost until after the resurrection. also, JC didn't become one with God until he suffered death. He was praying to God the Father and the Holy Ghost. After death Jesus formed the blessed trinity, The Father, the son and the Holy Ghost

Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Lived And Died A Jew by Cayon(f): 1:08pm On Aug 09, 2008
Jesus never denied that he was a Jew.  He realized that the Jews didn't practice what they preach. Hence, why they crucified him. Even today, some Jews don't practice what they preach.  For example:  When the Jews see a Black man who is rich or have plenty money they start quoting the scripture "If it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, then for a rich man to get into heaven"  But all Jews who are rich or have plenty money, to them It's all Blessings from God. Christianity EtcRe: Should Christians And Muslims Live Like Amish? by Cayon(op): 12:55pm On Aug 09, 2008
@olabowale

There is a scripture in the Bible Corinthians 11:3-10.(see below)  I myself always wonder why the churches don't enforce this Bible teaching)Another thing this demonstrate the obvious fact that the head cover was not introduced by Islam, but rather that this requirement has been in place for thousands of years (Paul's letter).
This is also fact that that Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad were all prophets of the same God and that they each carried the same basic message.

Peace

3But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

4Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.

5But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

6For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

7For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

8For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.

9Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

10For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

All time belongs to him

May the light of Christ, rising in glory,

@ Karma:

1 Corinthians Chapter 7 verse 10-11.

All i am saying is that if we live a simple life like the Amish, I think plenty christians and Mu$lims would stay together. You see one of the problem I see causing divorce among Christians/muslims is not respecting their culture. I've seen folks from my country (especially women) who come to America and start behaving "badly" or as they say in America "girlz gone wild"

@ Davidlan, Thanks for the laugh. Honestly, I live a plain and simple life.

Gone to bed. Good night and God Blessings to all

No, I am not kidding you.  Just think about it. The Amish lifestyle is not about rejecting technology. It is about devotion to God and family and leading a life of humility, and rejecting those aspects of the outside world that they feel would interfere or destroy that devotion.

can you the same thing about Christians and Mu$lims in general?

Amish folks don't use cars, phones, have tv or use anything modern, in some case even electricity refridgerators or stoves, definetely no ac.
They believe in the simple life, hard work, family and helping your neighbours. Divorce is basically unheard of, and everyone goes to church.

Maybe if Christians and Mu$lims live this simple live we would never hear of Divorce, we'll have a higher percentage of children doing better in school, no gangs, kids corrupted by TV instead of spendng time reading the Bible etc.

Jokes EtcSam's Birthday by Cayon(op): 1:54am On Aug 09, 2008
A Naija man name Sam had been drinking at a local Pub all day and most of the
night celebrating his birthday.

Mick, the bartender says, " You'll not be drinking
anymore tonight Sam."

Sam replies, "OK Mick, I'll be on my way then."

Sam spins around on his stool and steps off. He falls flat on his face.

"Sh!t" he says and pulls himself up by the stool and dusts himself off.

He takes a step towards the door and falls flat on his face,
"Shit, Shit!"

He looks to the doorway and thinks to himself that if he can just get to the door and some fresh air he'll be fine.

He belly crawls to the door and shimmies up to the door frame. He sticks his head outside and takes a deep breath of fresh air, feels much better and takes a step out onto the sidewalk and falls flat on his face.

"Bi'Jesus, I'm bleeped," he says.

He can see his house just a few doors down, and crawls to the door, hauls himself up the door frame, opens the door and shimmies inside.

He takes a look up the stairs and says "No bleeping' way".
He crawls up the stairs to his bedroom door and says "I can make it to the bed."

He takes a step into the room and falls flat on his face.
He says "Bleep it" and falls into bed.

The next morning, his wife Mukina, comes into the room carrying a cup of coffee and says, "Get up Sam. Did you had too much to drink last last night?".

Sam says, "I did Mukina. I was bleeping out cold. But how'd you know?"

"Mick phoned, . . . You left your wheelchair at the bar."

Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the universe,
who uphold us, and renew our lives at moments when our hearts grow
weary and trials test our strength. You are with us through it all.
May we laugh and sing in the face of the powers of evil,
and follow you with dancing steps!
Through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Prayer for the Beginning of the Day

O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day in peace, help me in all things to rely upon your holy will. In every hour of the day reveal your will to me. Bless my dealings with all who surround me. Teach me to treat all that comes to throughout the day with peace of soul and with firm conviction that your will governs all. In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings. In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all are sent by you. Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others. Give me strength to bear the fatigue of the coming day with all that it shall bring. Direct my will, teach me to pray. And you, yourself, pray in me. Amen.

The Truth About BelieversCharles Stanley

When I became a new believer, someone patted me on the shoulder and said, “Do the best you can,” which is unbiblical and unhelpful advice. A while later, I was discipled by some faithful saints, who taught me the truth about believers.

A believer is identified as a child of God. Through prayer, we have access to our Father at any time, and we can expect that He will be faithful to every one of His promises. What’s more, we are no longer classified as “sinners,” a term describing those who have not received Jesus Christ as Savior. We’ve been transformed into saints—holy persons saved by grace and set apart for God’s purposes. Sin and temptation will continue to be realities for us as long as we’re on earth. But since our transgressions are forgiven, our new identity cannot change.

A believer is positioned in Christ. God’s Spirit dwells in us so we can live righteously, as Christ did. To describe this relationship, He used a grapevine metaphor. The Lord is the vine, and we are the branches connected to Him and drawing on His power (John 15:1-5).

A believer’s mission is to show Christ to the world. Our vine is to bear the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). When our character and conduct reflect these aspects of Jesus’ nature, we help others to see the beauty of a relationship with the Lord.

The truth about believers is that we don’t have to “do the best we can.” God works through His children to accomplish His purposes.
