This may be the same way Fulanis plan to run away after destroying the country that they're not originally from. Lands that they are not aboriginal to.

If not, why has rẹ-looting of looted funds been so rife in this administration? Why has borrowing by the FG been highest ever and why has the economy been taking serious nosedive?

These are questions begging for answers.

Shariah is only meant for the poor and downtrodden in the Muslim society.

Remember the Kano Hisbah commander that was caught with Olosho inside hotel?

Remember Buhari's daughter in law that wore very revealing wedding gown?

How about Pantami caught selling bitcoin after his country banned Nigerians from bitcoin? Following twitter ban, he also used twitter to announce his crowwe app.

Remember El Rufai also used twitter after the ban.

I bet Hisbah officials themselves will be binging on enough cans of Heineken beer behind closed doors.

Please can someone help me with the definition of hypocrisy again?

The Buhari complex is clearly using subsidy yo bleed Nigeria dry
Remember how the figures of population of fulani was inflated from around 7 million in Nigeria to a freaking 70 million in under just one year?

That's the same MO inflating Nigeria daily consumed PMS from 23 million litres to 100 million litres in just under one year!

Cars are so expensive that it is outside the reach of majority, meaning that the number of cars on Nigerian road within the last one year is not likely to have increased by half let alone doubled. So what accounts for the triple multiples of consumed PMS? Is it that the increased numbers of fulani are the ones drinking the PMS? Maybe so.

The abracadabra that characterises Buhari government can only be second to none. The same false economic indices being pushed out has landed the country where it is today.

And so I fell victim to "Combined delivery" wàhálà of AliExpress. Items that were initially billed for 2 weeks delivery on "Speedaf" now sent to the gallows of 90 days delivery on Singapore Post and the idiosyncrasies and illegal billings of NIPOST.

One package has two items combined. Another has five freaking items combined. I mean like WTF! So I got to now live with the absolute uncertainty of getting whole 7 items delivered to me when I could have managed with the odds of 5 (Speedaf items) out of 7 items making it safely to me.

This nonsense that AliExpress is experimenting with will cause a lot of trouble for Nigerian buyers as long as NIPOST's inefficiencies continue, coupled with the problems with Singapore Post items to Nigeria.

It will have made great sense for AliExpress to co-opt "Speedaf" on this combined delivery thing. Then there will be absolute certainty of items being delivered and on time for that matter.

Phew! I've resigned to my fate.

"Delivery failed" does not literarily imply what it means. In NIPOST context, it simply means that your item has reached its last bus stop, is with them and awaiting collection.

So you might wanna contact your local PO.

You should have also included the screenshot of the total cost (including shipping) on AE. That way peeps will know the price difference.

Also in the Jumia price since the item is Jumia global item, quote the total costs including price of item plus customs clearing price plus "shipping to Nigeria" cost. Then proper comparison between the costs on Jumia and AE can be made to see if it is worth the stress or not.

Edited: I just checked back the Jumia screenshot and it seems the item is not Jumia global. Meaning it is likely already on ground and total cost is 34k including 1k shipping.

So provide AliExpress screenshot of the item's total cost for better comparison.

Whenever you deal disputes on AE especially for fake items that you can establish and convince AE team of the "fakeness", never select "return item to seller" as an option. Neither should you agree with the seller that asks you to return it.

First, the seller breached protocol and trust by sending you a fake or substandard item and will be rightly punished for doing do by the AE team. It is therefore not your headache to send the item back because that will cost you money and the sellers know that fact, reason why they bring up the suggestion in order to frustrate your efforts to return it and eventually make you to give up on the trade dispute, moving on to accept your loss and licking your wounds.

Second, such items are yours to keep. And you still demand your money be refunded in full. In worst case scenario, you can negotiate a partial refund, an amount that will be dictated by you yourself. The seller might plead for a 50 50 split or may even wanna cheat you to a 60 40 split. It is you that will refuse to be railroaded. Stand firm on full refund or at worst an 80 20 split in your favour.

About 6 years ago during my heydays of hunting for a Bluetooth speaker, I came across an AE seller who listed Bose Soundlink 2 for a very discounted price, I think around 14k as against the 40k price of the original. It was AE 11/11 shopfest, so discounts are not unexpected. All the descriptions and pictures of the item suggested the real deal (for I had a friend who owned one). So I paid and got sent a dud, a poor imitation with abysmal performance. In less than 24hrs of receiving and testing the item, I borrowed the original from my friend, made a video of the two side by side with audio commentary on the stark differences thereby establishing beyond reasonable doubt the counterfeit in what the seller sent. I also took screenshot of his description and pictures of the item on his listing and how it seriously contrasts with what he sent. I uploaded the video alongside my dispute and also sent him a copy in a mail provided by him to go thru his folly.

I got to keep the counterfeit and still got my full refund. I shopped around for the original from another seller a year after. Meanwhile the counterfeit still works till now. It's just that the bass is wack and the battery backup has worsened, almost non-existent that you need to keep it plugged into the mains to keep it working, but the speaker is fairly loud. It also has an SD card slot, FM radio and poor battery backup, which are all absent in the authentic Bose Soundlink.

I later discovered that the seller had operated his account for just two months before I patronised him and he apparently opened the account against the 11/11 price crashes and I fell victim of his scam. The shop was no longer available shortly after I gave him my damning review. He had probably ran off to open another fake shop account.

Bodmum:
I ordered an item from aliexpress earlier this month but its seems the item has been delivered to Brazil. This is my first time ordering from Ali, somebody should help me interpret these screenshots. It's like I got something wrong
The seller was mostly likely untruthful. He probably had reasons not to ship your item (probably ran outta stocks) but in order not to give you the chance to cancel your order (which may also earn him a penalty and negative ranking), he decided to give you the tracking number of another buyer. By the time you realize and complain to him, he may have stocked new items and then he will apologise, then send your own.

In worst case scenario, he will just apologise and ask you to open trade dispute for refunds of money citing the reason as "item was sent to a different address". Of course he will not hesitate to accept the dispute and he has also been saved the penalty for failing to ship your item because AE will not be aware of that part. Of course if you had over-relaxed and assumed your item will arrive and purchase protection runs out, it will be a loss for you and double gain for the seller, for your money "for unsent items" will be handed over to him.

So in the light of this Brazil discovery, message the seller and demand he gives you the correct tracking number.

In the rarest of cases, probably it was an innocent clerical error of the seller mistakenly giving you someone else's tracking number. In such cases, by the time he gives you the correct number and you track, the item will have been in transit (to your destination of course) for a while rather than being "freshly shipped".

Still another explanation could be that Brazil is just a transit country for another reciever of the item that will now ship the received parcel from there to Nigeria. I have experienced this before with a sliding gate opener that was manufactured in Singapore but listed by a Chinese seller on AE. The first journey was from Singapore to China and the seller sent me the misleading tracking number. When I queried him on the "item received" status of destination China, he asked that I wait for 24 hours while he provides me with a new tracking number which now turned out to be destination Nigeria. When the parcel arrived and I opened it, I realized that there is an under-wrap/inner package addressed to China and the outer main package addressed to Nigeria meaning it was first shipped from Singapore the country of manufacture to China where the seller is and then finally to Nigeria where the buyer is; all on expedited FedEx shipping of course.

Bodmum:
thanks but the problem is I don't know how to contact him
Message him on the app . Please be weary of the purchase protection because DHL and other expedited items usually and expectedly have purchase protection of about 14 to 20 days contrary to the 70 days for other shipping options. So if you find out the purchase protection days expires in few days, have a plan B of opening trade dispute alongside the message you'll send to the buyer, in case he deliberately refuses to read your message or reply playing for time for the purchase protection to expire.

Dear God, let crude oil price fall to $44 per barrel

If you think this is a satire, then you are taking life too seriously. It is time to start thinking about unusual solutions to Nigeria’s unusual problems. There is no use following the regular route to address our irregular situation. For instance, conventional wisdom says Nigeria needs higher oil prices to address its cyclical budgetary woes caused by its over-reliance on the black gold. We are locked in a situation where high oil prices get us high and lower oil prices take us low. In the past, we were able to build fairly robust reserves and stabilise the naira whenever oil prices went high. Not anymore. A three-year high of $76 in July has not improved our fortune, all things considered.

Something unusual has been happening in recent times that many Nigerians are obviously unaware of or are not paying much attention to. As crude oil prices started going up, the naira started going down. Why? Higher oil prices did not amount to higher inflow of FX into the economy as you would expect. Instead, we have seen the exchange rate in both the official and unofficial markets go against the naira. Along the line, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) announced that it would no longer fund bureaux de change (BDCs). Although funding BDCs has always been an anomaly on Nigeria’s long list of anomalies, not funding them tells us a bigger story of distress, so to say.

The trouble, as I see it, is that higher oil prices have hurt more than helped Nigeria in recent times. Gone are the days when we enjoyed more comfort when the prices headed for the skies. These days, the higher the price, the bigger the pain for the government and the citizens. Higher oil prices led to higher petrol prices and higher cost of living for Nigerians, with the impact manifesting in growing poverty. Outside the direct impact on Nigerians, we are also unable to produce the quantity of oil we used to because of the cut in quotas by OPEC+ in an attempt to shore up the prices. From the height of two million barrels per day, we are now constrained to 1.4mbpd or so. Do the math.

But here is the peculiarly Nigerian problem: as crude oil prices rise and the cost of petrol goes up and we continue to subsidise the product in order to, as we claim, “protect the poor”, even the little benefit we are earning from higher oil prices largely goes back into paying for the subsidy, according to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), which is now the sole importer of petrol. This administration came to power accusing previous governments of lying about subsidy, so it had to come up with its own terminology, “under-recovery”, in place of “subsidy”. But it is the same. It doesn’t matter if you say Saul or Paul: it is the same name. “Paul” in Greek is “Saul” in Hebrew.

NNPC, according to recent reports, has not remitted one dollar to the CBN since mid-April. Why? The corporation says most of the revenue from oil exports — from where Nigeria gets over 90 percent of its forex inflow — has been ploughed back into financing “under-recovery”. Let me put it this way: with crude oil going as high as $76, Nigeria did not benefit much because we had to spend the bulk of the gains to finance subsidy and keep petrol price at N162 per litre. NNPC says we are now consuming over 100 million litres per day. Last year, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) put the figure at 38.2 million litres. Don’t ask how consumption tripled within one year. Please don’t.

There is a template answer to the question if you insist on asking: smuggling. Because of the price difference with our neighbours (they adjust their pump prices as crude prices change), our default assertion is that most of our imported petrol is smuggled out of the country via land borders. Petrol is about N373/litre in Republic of Benin and N630 in Cameroon. I do not dispute the role of smuggling in the burgeoning consumption figures, but I must allow myself to speculate that we can’t be rustling the difference between 38.2 million litres and 100 million litres out of the country every day. That is about 60 million daily. That comes to about 2,000 tankers crossing the borders daily.

I do not want to go into insinuations this early morning, so let us take the NNPC figures exactly as we have been served. But Alhaji Yusuf Lawal Othman, national president of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), recently raised questions about the daily consumption figures. “The system needs to be reorganised,” he said. “I don’t see any reason why you have 200 filling stations in a local government that does not consume more than 45,000 litres. I also don’t see how the depot which normally does programming per day will programme quite a number of trucks to a local government which does not consume more 45,000 litres per day.” Not my words. Othman’s.

Mallam Mele Kyari, the group managing director of NNPC, gave us a pack of interesting data recently. Hear him out: “If we are to sell at the market today at current exchange rate, we will be selling the product at about N256 to a litre. What we sell today is N162, so the difference is at a cost to the nation… The difference comes back to as much as N140 billion to N150 billion cost to the country monthly. As long as the volume goes up, that money continues to increase and we have two sets of stress to face: stress of supply and stress of foreign exchange for the NNPC… There was a day we loaded out about 103 million litres of PMS across the depots.” He too is at a loss as I am.

I have, therefore, come up with what I think is a peaceful solution to the problem: by praying fervently that crude oil price should drop to $44 per barrel. Since Nigerians are not benefitting from rising oil prices, I now think we should start benefiting from low prices. Crazy? Maybe. But I will advance three reasons to support my prayers that the time has come for crude prices to plummet again. Someone will be tempted to ask: how did I arrive at $44? That was the price of crude oil as of September 2020 when petrol price was increased to N162 per litre. I will also be working with the exchange rate in the parallel market which was N450/$ at the time and N500/$ today.

Here we go. One, if oil goes back to $44, there would be no need for “under-recovery” again. In plain English, we would not be discussing subsidy. NNPC would not be giving us a subsidy bill of between N140 billion and N150 billion monthly. The recent meetings of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) ended in tears as there was no enough money to share. The steady rise in oil prices did not come with a steady amount in the distributable pool because, as we have said already, NNPC said it had to first recover the cost of bringing the product into the country before sending the balance to the CBN for onward journey to the federation account. At $44, subsidy will be gone.

And this leads to my second prayer point, which may be contradictory and controversial — but I know what I am doing. With oil back at $44, you would expect me to say petrol should also go back to N145 as it was in September 2020. I wouldn’t say that for many reasons. One, transport operators are unlikely to pass the benefit to commuters, so it would be a waste of effort. Two, if we insist on using pricing to curb smuggling (since the thousands of security officials at the land borders cannot see the smugglers’ 2,000 trucks driving past them every day), our petrol will become more expensive than in neighbouring countries who use crude oil prices to determine their own pump prices.

In addition to curbing smuggling through pricing — an admission that our security agencies are too corrupt to tackle the smugglers — we can even start making money from the sale of petrol. How? At N162/litre with oil at $44, we have already moved from subsidy to tax. That means we are now taxing the consumption of petrol. That also means we would be making money from selling petrol rather than spending money to sell it! That is nothing new: that obtains in advanced countries. A litre of petrol is £1.3 (N735.cool in the UK, out of which 57.95 pence (or N323) is tax. The UK government levies 20 per cent VAT on every litre of petrol as well as on the duty. Just saying.

The third point on my prayer list is that if crude oil falls to $44, NNPC will have to start remitting more forex inflow from crude oil sale to the federation. There will be nothing like “under-recovery” again. There will be no talk about smuggling. There will be no subsidy bill of N150 billion per month. That can solve a lot of problems, the least being the ability of states to pay salaries again. The CBN will have to stop “printing money” (by creating loans) to intervene in the fiscal crisis ravaging the three tiers of government. That alone should allow the naira to breathe a little — with reduced pressure from inflation along with some oxygen support from more forex inflow from oil sale.

Is this a satire? I don’t even know again. My original intention was to point out the peculiar mess in our economic management and how a bad fortune in the oil markets may be a good thing for us, but I am now taking it more seriously than I intended. When an oil-rich country has to hope that crude prices will drop so that public finances and citizens’ welfare can improve, it tells us a lot. It tells us about the warped structure of the economy, about our warped management of the petroleum resources, and about how we are locked inside what looks like a vicious cycle that must be broken. So, seriously speaking, oil dropping to $44/barrel may be a good prayer point — at least for now.

Your first impression is what remains. I did not read the sermon above.

You claim you're married.

People would think you're a reasonable person, but you are so petty you even need to defend the pettiness of mocking an ex because she's not married and you are. That 6 years later you carry so much bitterness and have to gloat on a public forum so that people will join you to mock her is such a shame.

What is the point of men always pointing out that their ex is not married after years, if not to mock them, because society has placed so much emphasis on women getting married? Mr married for 6 years, you posted it to make a mockery of her, that was the smug effect you wanted to give off. If a lady jilts you, don't think any delays and misfortunes in her life are because you wanted her and she rejected you.
Well, ain't you so myopic? Your submissions so far indicate that you speak from a position of hurt and pain. That is what drives your tirade. And while you would have fared better at healing by admitting it rather than blaming others for it (in form of projection as a defence mechanism), you only succeed further in confirming those suspicions. I on the other hand speak from a position of a healed soul, a satisfied existence and a forgiving mind. That is why I can conveniently point out my pasts (personal errors and 3rd party errors like the ones from the ladies in question you love to defend) to others navigating that path so that they learn from my mistakes and in that manner chart for themselves a pain free course. While everyone is bound to have challenges in their path in life, what gives me pleasure is to see people avoid the pitfalls/challenges I encountered.

Tellemall:
Are you her God? Are you her destiny? Are you the only man in the world? Why can't you move on? Why must you mock her? What have you gained? Imagine if she were married to such a person who can carry such little things in his mind for years. She dodged a bullet.
It's your level of understanding of life that makes you to speak in this manner you do. How do you tell your story without your past? Hmmm, tell me. To move on to your future, you have to move thru your past and your present, won't you? You can't deny never crawling before you learn how to walk, can you? Every manner of individuals you've met in your sojourn will naturally come up in your stories, won't they? That is why it is important that your impact on people you meet either randomly or purposely should always be positive cos you just might not know when your story will be told as part of theirs.

And for clarity, I believe I'm the one that dodged the bullet of pain and perpetual misery in relationship, she did not.

Tellemall:
Hope what happened to her doesn't happen to any of yours, because karma is real. Sometimes you don't understand your actions until it is done to you.
Perhaps you should go back to read that my post which you admitted you refused to read. Then come back and edit your recommendation of Karma or otherwise. But to lighten the load for you, I emphasised in that post "accepting responsibilities and its consequences". So "messing up" isn't my action as you opined here. Though not perfect, but trying as much as possible not to "mess people up" is what I do. And also tell my story so that people do not "mess up" and then vituperate like you are doing here when karma comes knocking. So if "any of mine" messes up and gets the consequences for their actions, I will naturally not vent a tirade like you do here.

Tellemall:
People must be rejoicing and posting about the bad things that happened to you so that they will feel good about themselves, the way you've done to her, if everyone is like you.
I actually tell the stories myself. Funny, I even remind them that so so and so time, I did this to you and this got me into trouble and we just laugh it off. At times, I admit to them regretting hurting them and I always end it with telling them that I'm happy they are not damaged. But believe me that is a very tiny proportion and I can only vivdly recall one or two scenarios not even related with relationship. In my friendships, I'd rather the discomfort be mine than theirs, so I've not had cause to hurt a lot of people in my sojourn.

To cap it all up, I'd advice that you do away with that hurt, that hate, forgive yourself and you will find yourself bantering jokingly over these things you take so personally in your posts up there.

Just quickly message the seller to extend purchase protection for another 30 days. Once it is approved, you have enough time to strategize on either pressuring NIPOST to help you retrieve your parcel that is inside their refrigerator or if not there, kukuma open dispute and get back your money.

Please note that the seller may deliberately delay reading your message or even read it and refuse to approve your request, it is all the same fraudulent gimmick. In case of that, screenshot the message and upload it as part of your dispute complaints to AE team quoting that the seller refused your request for purchase protection extension.

I learnt about speedaf today and did a Google search and saw where I could track items on their website. Tracking the parcel, it SEEMS that they have returned it, stating the same reason that I rejected the the parcel.
Speedaf don't waste time returning unclaimed parcels. That way you get to claim back your refund by giving your reason as "item returned to seller". One time that I went to their office, a whole bag of items were to be returned to China, shoes inclusive.

You can imagine the level of efficiency that made them to give the exact reason why the parcel was being returned - "he was unsure of our genuity". I guess you must have used the word "scammer" to reply the lady on the phone.

I'd say where they made the mistake was not telling you to contact the seller and confirm that the parcel has indeed arrived and awaiting collection. That if possible, you should ask him to provide you with the tracking number, the website and let you confirm the tracking yourself. That way, you would have been aware of the genuiness of over-efficient speedaf.

It still boils down to their efficiency, perhaps over-efficiency in this case grin .

The hardship observed on this thread is proving that going solar offers even more gains in the Nigerian context. Anyway we can get a poll of how many people here use solar to cook and what their induction/electric cooker power ratings are like (for newcomers who might be interested)?
Few weeks ago that I came across 12.5kg for 6k was the time I already posted questions here and on course to include electric cookers (perhaps induction types) in my appliances.

Haba! Do they wantu kill Nigerians ni? Àbí is it a crime to be born Nigerian again?!

Has anyone come across this?

Useless Nigerian government. I'd say it is well deserved.

If you are popular for defending ordinary Nigerian citizens world over, one small country will not wake up one day, graduate to and decide to met out the same maltreatment to a diplomatic citizen.

The way you dress in public is the way you will be addressed.

You are notorious for leaving your citizens in limbo world over, so the lack of respect you have given to your people is what is being given back to you in equal measure.
PoliticsRe: Plateau Attacks: CAN Condemns Killing Of 25 Fulani Travellers by ceaser:
While we should truly condemn taking of lives, especially innocent ones, the Fulanis CAN tries to solidarize with in this their release do not give a hoot about anyone. If a thousand non-fulanis should be murdered by Fulani marauders today, the Fulani citizens will not sympathise nor solidarize with you.

Ask people of plateau, they will give first hand experience information.

So I think CAN should henceforth do this with guarded expectation.

DanHaske:
Killing of fulanis is norm in that part of the country, the media just doesn't report it. I've witnessed with my very eyes where a Fulani traveller was pulled out of a vehicle and lynched. Blood even spilled on me in the process. I have also witnessed second hand where fulanis boarded a vehicle to travel and the driver drove them to where his tribesmen were and they were burnt to death. Nobody reports it, as a matter of fact, they warn everyone not to post it on any media.
.

Hmmm. And now that their kinsmen is in power and they lording it over everyone, making enemies for themselves all over, post 2023 isn't gonna be funny.

I think Fulanis should all be making peace early enough so as to avoid the "ethnic cleansing" all remaining 200 tribes in Nigeria will unleash on 'em.

Not yet boss.
I leave it off intermittently since I asked here, been very busy but I've to sort that out this week sha. I can't stand looking at my panels waste away. Though the clouds have taken over the skies for some weeks now and it's not so bad
Since it is between panels and CC, kúkú bypass the AC MCB by connecting the input wires from the panels into the same corresponding output wire screw socket on the MCB. That way, the current goes direct from the panels to CC and you can take your time to source for a proper DC MCN without creating for yourself an unwarranted "power holiday"

I'll advice you to open dispute ASAP and request for a full or partial refund ,whichever Aliexpress would grand you. The seller should have opted to send you another watch in place of the broken one ,yet he doesn't want to take responsibility for that. That's why he's asking you to buy the replacement glass from another store. Aliexpress sellers can be tricky sometimes . So, don't be fooled. Open dispute right away and attach the pictures of the watch together with the broken glass as evidence ,and then request for a refund of your money.
You spoke what I exactly have in mind. Even if the seller won't want to send a whole wristwatch as replacement (which is the ideal thing the buyer must insist on), the least he could do was to send him a replacement glass on his own tab, not the buyer's.

He probably packed the wrist watch shoddily. If it was well packaged with styrofoam, then placed inside a cardboard box and then the box further wrapped with more foam materials, it wouldn't have broken that easy.

Sellers using aliexpress standard shipping don't have a say on what shipping company will be use, that decision is up to aliexpress
Both tracking numbers indicate it is being handled by "Speedaf".

Okay. Thanks.

They are just a lazy and nonchalant group of people, until there comes an efficient technical partner for Aliexpress, I'm sure they won't change. Later, when sales don't come and Govt is forced to sack them or sell them to a private hand, who inadvertently will have to sack many of them, they won't regret their actions.

See my order trail too, China to Nigeria was just 2 weeks and since then NPS hasn't moved an inch. I have been to the PO twice and my supervisor too has been there once because he doubted the order ever existed.
Imagine. Well the FG has begun implementation of unbundling NIPOST into two arms (Microfinance Bank and Postal services arm), I think. I fear theysoon may go the way of NITEL and NEPA dem.

This unregistered packages tracking usually ends once it gets to the airport. And usually takes longer than registered items to be delivered.

Be mindful of shipping methods when placing an order.
Agreed that unregistered parcels OCASSIONALLY take a little longer than registered, so what would you say about mine being Registered Singapore Post and still on transit for 71 days? The underlying problem here is that NIPOST is shirking their responsibility.

Lixusheng:
You will never get it. It didnt show lagos air.. it was discarded by impc workers. I have experienced many of such. The issue is that the nipost workers can really explain the problem to you because they are dumb
By "discarded" you mean it was returned back to the seller or simply literarily thrown away? If that's the case, I hope AliExpress team will be smart enough to inteprete that and rule in my favour once I open a trade dispute.

What did you see in that screenshot that indicated "discarded", make I learn too.

Are you in Lagos?
Nope.

I blame the recent compulsory NIN registration for this. People could no longer buy sim cards, people whose sim was stolen could no longer get it back, business was so slow and most of their partners were loosing heavily
GIANTPLUSHUB:
You are very right. Old people that their phones got lost cannot easily retrieve the lines or buy new ones without the NIN and the process of getting the NIN is too stressful for these old people. Atimes, they will have to be on queue for long hours in which they might not even get it done that day, which means they will have to come back the next day which isn't guarantee again.
Already, MTN has taken an unorthodox path in exiting Syria’s business environment, by abandoning its business due to regulatory demands in the country.

Poor government policies responsible for the exit from Syria. One hopes the FG and Pantami dem will not frustrate telcos out of Nigeria with ill-thought policies.

Hope this does not get to Nigeria.

Nigeria is bleeding enough already as businesses are exiting even as FDi is reducing. The country cannot afford another exit in form of a telco giant.

Meanwhile one neighbouring West African country like that has recorded impressive FDi and a strengthened currency against the dollar within just 6 months in this year.

Oh no.

MTN To Sell Off Assets As Telco Intensifies Market Exit, Amid Subscriber Loss

In a bid to increase available liquidity, telecommunications company, MTN Group, is selling off assets, while also abandoning some to force out its market exit.

The network provider is set to generate about $747 million from the sale of its South African towers. According to the Chief Executive Officer of MTN, Ralph Mupita, bids have been received for the sale.

Part of the break up ongoing within MTN Group includes the separation of both the fintech and fiber units, with the former going separately by March, Bloomberg reported – while the fiber unit will standalone in the next two years.

In its market exit bid, MTN Group’s focus is on the Middle East, with Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen tabled on the exit options, and ignoring Ethiopia’s international operator license call.

Already, MTN has taken an unorthodox path in exiting Syria’s business environment, by abandoning its business due to regulatory demands in the country.

Meanwhile, in Nigeria, MTN continues to suffer data subscriber loss, with over 600,000 wiped off its customer base, and 473,495 users in its telephony service in July.

According to Ripples Nigeria analysis of industry data obtained from Nigerian Communications Commission, MTN is on a six-month run loss this year

If you probe deeply, it is the masai people that are distant cousins of the Fulani in Nigeria. The Fulani kinship was the same reason Kenyan government allowed the extraordinary rendition of Nnamdi Kanu with the implication of Nigerian government breaking international laws of three countries (UK, Kenya and Nigeria itself) in the process.
PoliticsEl-rufai Flown Abroad Over Deteriorating Health by ceaser(op): 2:49pm On Aug 13, 2021
My take on this at the moment is to take this news with caution until reputable investigative news outlets like Saharareporters and gazettenews break it.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state is in poor health condition, government house source has revealed. Report reaching our newsroom confirmed that he was flown abroad for treatment few days ago. His deputy Governor, Haj. Hadiza Balarabe who’s currently acting on his behalf yesterday received the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Yahaya Bello, who was in Kaduna state government house Wednesday on a working visit. Although the source did not know or disclosed the nature of his ailments, the Governor has been reportedly flown from the country of destination to another oversees due to seriousness of the disease. Contacted, the Media officer of the Governor Mall. ibrahim Musa could not respond as at the time of filling this report.
