PoliticsRe: If Not Infrastructure, Then What - Femi Adesina by ceaser: 10:28am On Aug 13, 2021
Nonsense man.

Dumbo.

If not infrastructure, then SECURITY.

SECURITY is key. For if the people that you built infrastructures for are all dead, then who will be alive to use your infrastructure?

Another thing is good standard of living so that the people the infrastructure is meant for will be able to afford it and utilise it as is meant to be.

Otherwise, they will all leave your "infrastructure" for you and your vultures to use.

He did not leave enough gap between the main and tail rotor.
The main and tail rotors weren't quite close to each other. It was the tail rotor that went rogue, flying out of its axle towards the main rotor while the latter nicked a part of it. It was that nicked part that went towards the pilot, slashing his neck.

And to all of you blaming the guy for his lack of education as the cause, I'd say you misjudged. First, education can be formal and informal. That education is formal does not mean it automatically trumps informal education. A lot of people who were not within the four walls of the classroom has been made professors in foreign universities. As long as you can demonstrate adequate and exceeding capacity in what you do, which is you can possibly possess above those who went to class, you will be given recognition.

This is why foreign countries have been able to develop - placing more premium on capacity that certificate.

The Wright brothers didn't go to school to invent the airplane. The human mind is an endless pit of imagination and possibilities. You only need to be among those able to explore that depth and you find yourself coming out with solutions to human problems in science and technology.

The few that education can do is to help you fine tune that capacity. Hence, education will help you realize that you need protective gears when doing something like this. And will help you realize that you will probably need a parachute or at least some form of harness in case it fails mid-air. Education will let a painter know he needs a breathing mask to avoid inhaling harmful gases. But if this guy were to go far, he will end up employing "the educated" that went thru the four walls of the classroom to make these decisions for him while he as the boss decides what to pay 'em for their services.

thanks for your submission, my plan is to get 24v Lifepo4, and the said inverter , but i need inverter that is budget friendly but durable, since i will be spending more on battery.
I'm not sure if Saint2ace means their Modified Wave Inverter Series with that charging issue. But what I know is that the 12v850va of that particular inverter that someone I know uses with 120ah LFP charges quite well and in very short time fills up the battery. 20 amps charger for a 120ah LFP is a fair combination.

Where I think I will perhaps agree with saint2ace' charger complaint is the fact that if your NEPA voltage or generator voltage is low or outputting some funny frequencies and you have the inverter in online mode with appliance plugged in, the inverter will bypass, prioritizing powering the plugged in appliances over charging the batteries, so you effectively end up with an uncharged or suboptimal charged batteries after a few hours on low mains voltage. But that problem does not occur with full 230v from the mains,

I used that particular inverter with a lead acid 12v100amp battery a few years ago and that is my experience with it.

See my attached screenshot. It is "RB". 79 freaking days in transit.

About 4 days ago, I called one post woman there and sent her the tracking numbers (there is actually a second item too) for them to know that my item has arrived but they have been lackadaisical in delivering them to me.

How can I make speedaf as my default/permanent logistic carrier?
I think that decision is left to the shipper or AliExpress team. AliExpress exclusively handled items may be shipped by a particular verified-as-reliable shipper. And "Speedaf" may soon be in line as a favourite option for AliExpress handled items, so tagged "AliExpress Standard Shipping" if they keep up their efficiency.

However for other sellers, among other reasons that affect their choice of shipper are price, proximity of their location to the shipper etc.

But more and more sellers may begin to opt for Speedaf. This is why I think so. A particular item I bought took 71 days to get to Nigeria on Singapore Post. I took delivery of the item 4 days ago. I was impressed by the performance that I decided to purchase another from exactly the same seller. I was willing to ignore the long shipping days in other to get that good item. I placed the another order 3 days ago. By yesterday, I was notified of shipping. But guess what? This time it is no longer on Singapore Post like the first time, but now on "Speedaf". This is still the same seller/shop changing his choice of a shipper within weeks.

Mind you, for the first item, I got billed 200 naira by NIPOST to collect it. I'm sure speedaf will deliver this second but same item from the same seller for free. But I will still keep my fingers crossed.

So except you categorically pay for express shipping like DHL, UPS etc, I think there is little you can do to influence the seller's choice of shipper.

BTS 12v/950watts PSW is a good inverter. Has selectable in-built stabiliser function, in built 20A charger and selectable DoD (50% or 70%).

I think it currently goes for around 75k on Konga or Jumia.

Edited: Price seems to be down to 70k. But I also noticed that they increased the shipping price which used to hover around 1k5 for fairly weighty items. Now it's 4,870 naira. Of course na like that our AliExpress brothers also stylishly keep their prices constant even during their so called "price slashes".

You can also ckech it on Konga.

There is this new trend in logistics that I noticed. There is this shipper that calls itself speedaf.

First, their delivery is fast, I mean like 2 weeks delivery.

Second, they bring the items directly to your doorstep except if you have a prior arrangement with them to pick it up at their office.

Third, they have never demanded any payment from me for the three packages that they've delivered so far, and at least two of the packages are as big as what post office will charge 500 naira to 700 naira for.

Fourth is that they also call you to notify you of the arrival.

Fifth, their tracking number wcich begins with "NG" and ends with any other letter is not trackable in any of the popular sites like track24 and 17track. What I get when I enter in the details is "tracking number is error".

Who is this new kid on the block that threatens to push NIPOST and their unseriousness into oblivion?

ItsTutsi:
Bro, u seem to know a lot.. I have some issues I want u to help me clarify

1. Why do products from aliexpress come under different local companies in nigeria when shipped and how will I know which company to go to/will fall under in nigeria when ordering from aliexpress

I ordered for a product that came since the 3rd of this month, but I'm yet to get a call or text.. when I called a person that works for speedaff, he told me it's nipost
Sellers co-opt shippers that are deemed reliable. Of recent, speedaf in Nigeria (a Chinese owned company) is becoming the hot cake amongst sellers and shippers alike.

ItsTutsi:
A product I ordered through "aliexpress standard shipping" came under speedaff, while a product I ordered again through "aliexpress standard shipping", when I called speedaff, they told me it's nipost..I'm confused, how will I know where they will come under?
You will be able to tell from the tracking number. So a shipper can be Cainiao or AliExpress Standard Shipping but the tracking number may bear that of Speedaf.

The tracking number of Speedaf starts with "NG" and is untrackable on the regular tracking websites. It can only be tracked on their website.

Thank you for inputs. I understand that things are expensive etc but I am also dedicated to the cause.

Will get the ACs first and then the battery at last.

I am still not clear as to whether 5kva is fine or not. I currently use a 5.5kva gen to power similar set up and I assuming solar configuration shouldn't be too far apart in terms of comparison.
I think you can get the batteries first as long as it is lithium. They can stay in storage for 8 to 10 months without losing much charge. It will be good you get it now because that is about the heart of your system onto which every other thing latches. If you wanna go DIY, ordering it now before further naira plunge will ensure you save money and also save time as it will arrive before year end.

Your inverter AC and indeed other electrical appliances are about the easiest and least stressful to acquire. Electronic shops including Fouani will always have stocks and newer, more efficient models are always reeled out as R& D into these appliances progress. You can buy one appliance today and in a month's time, a newer more power efficient model which tickles your fancy is produced.

The major upgrade you may require in your battery pack is the BMS whereas an upgrade to your electrical appliance means selling it off to acquire a newer one.

After your battery, get your inverter and since you mention that you have a generator, you can use that to charge your set up while you plan to acquire solar panels. Even your solar panels can be procured in phases of 3 or 6 panels or multiples of it (if you're using 48v system) at a time depending on how deep your pocket is.

PoliticsRe: Abba Kyari Faces Extradition As FBI Arrests Two Of Hushpuppi's Associates by ceaser:
This looks like a sensational headline aimed as a click ait. These people have been arrested long before Anna Kyari was declared wanted by the FBI. So if he will be extradited, it will be based more on the FBI making renewed efforts at that rather than the arrest of these three accomplices which were named alongside Abba Kyari but which were arrested much earlier.

You see, all these Abba Kyari brouhaha came as a rude shock to the ruling hegemony. They wouldn't in their wildest dreams have thought that any reason as compelling as this accusation will ever upset their plans.

The tradition is to have a kin in the top position and someone from other parts of the country as second in command, in this case Disu. So the plan would have been that Kyari will still be around for a very long time during which another replacement for Disu will come in form of forced retirement due to his contemporary being named the IGP.

If they ever envisaged this sudden disruption happening, they would have made another fulani extract the second in command to Kyari so that soon as the latter is out of the picture, another fulani expectedly steps in.

Now hesitantly, they needed to name Disu as the new IRT commander. This does not however mean that he can't still be tactically edged out in the nearest future over flimsy or non-existent reasons though. At least they did it with Kemi Adesosun and that FIRS guy, so who says they can't do it with Disu?

Monogamy:
AGF has said they have not received any notification about Kyari's extradition.

These people need to understand that they owe the country a duty to serve her, not the clueless Aso Rock herder.
When the DSS acted beyond its mandate during the months Osinbajo was acting president, he took the right action to create a deterrent. However Buhari came back and reversed a decent decision by Osinbajo, a decision that aimed to entrench rule of law and empower the people.

This is to show you that Buhari deliberately looks away and his silence means support. Therefore he is to be solely blamed for the rot he benefits from, not anyone else.
HealthRe: Rising COVID-19 Cases: FG Plans Tough Actions, NESG, LCCI Fear Fresh Lockdown by ceaser:
Well, even though I belive that Covid just like HIV is real, I however have my reservations about the way news is being peddled about it.

Incidences cannot be established by illnesses presumed to be due to Covid, but only by testing. Therefore all those times that daily drops in incidences were being recorded in Nigeria, in line with what was also happening globally, was because less and less testing were being carried out. It is not because cases were truly dropping.

Now that increasing cases are been declared by the Western countries, again by mumuric default, Nigeria and indeed other African nations will also want to join the band wagon of declaring increasingly daily cases. The two ways this can be achieved is either by truly increasing the testing rate or by declaring false incidences in cases where people are not coming forward for testing.

Nigeria and Africa at large can not boast of social infrastructure or health facility at par with Western nations but they did not and currently are not recording as much deaths due to covid as these advanced nations have recorded. This is not to say that covid-related deaths are absolutely absent in Nigeria since we are poor with data, but the incidences are arguably much lower than anticipated for a country with poor living condition.

So is this hype about a first, second, third and even fourth wave a fear factor to coarse the populace, more importantly that the script playing out now has been revealed since March 2020? The script of different waves and the imposition of mandatory vaccine to culminate in health cards (similar to yellow cards of yellow fever vaccine) without which international travel and business will be impossible has been written in the playbook, according to some conspiracy theorists.

By the way, as a health professional these are nonetheless personal views rather than professional views.

nope.....check the south west and kebbi state.

Igbo chics are only there because religion won't allow the fulani shuwa chics to compete......and despite the one sided picking of Igbo girls...top three aren't even igbo. Am certain a yoruba chic will win this and also bring us the global crown.
There is a trend. It reflects the dispensation to nationality of the three major ethnic groups.

The North are overtly religious, sometimes bordering on hypocrisy. Their overbearing shariah laws in the midst of all shades of undesirables commited in secrecy is one reason they can't field a candidate even though they have beautiful and tall damsels that can compete favourably. Assuming the had native candidates you can be sure that nepotism would have been the order of the day in the selection process but for religious encumbrances.

The Igbos are widely dispersed across every nooks and crannies of the country, being cosmopolitans to some extent. Hence they are easily pitched into any competitions even without being indigenes of those states. However, it is not surprising that non-indigenes have no shot at the finals in all of the South Eastern States even though they have been given equal opportunities in other states where they aren't indigenes. They also without doubt have beautiful girls, not exceeding what obtains in other regions but definitely not hard to come by.

I type this without prejudice or bad blood, but the fact that South East and core Igbo states are not known to be accommodating to others, not giving chance to non-indigenes (even amongst themselves) in any social or non-social event is vividly portrayed in that line up.

The preponderance of non-indigenes in the south west lineup is just a reflection of the multi-ethnic, polytheistic and accommodating policies of the people there. I'm sure there will be Yorùbá runners up, but the people there will put merit over nepotism or kinship in making selections. So far as you are able to contribute positively and merit consideration, you will be given a shot irrespective of your tribe, tongue or creed.

Nonetheless, as the list apparently showcases more of "Most beautiful Southern Nigerian Girls", than Most beautiful Nigerian Girl, I hope every region of the south will work towards strengthening their points of weaknesses (as outlined above) and since no one can claim to be perfect or claim to have it all, a reliance on one another, doing away with nepotism, unmerited grandiosity, intolerance to non-indigenes and a host of other undesirable social vices as it characterises each region downsouth, will go a long way to forging a formidable relationship and unbeatable union if the country Nigeria eventually happen to break into Northern Nigeria and Southern Nigeria.
