Well done Spyder Always impressed with your work and I am sure the client is too.
If I might ask, I had thought pools are built with reinforced concrete both walls and floor and drain pipes/electrical pipes are laid all under the reinforcement before casting. I am really surprised to see only concrete blinding and use of sancrete blocks. (All my small knowledge from watching pool kings)
But I am watching sha to learn.
Well done.
spyder880: Our plan is to slope this swimming pool from the shallow end to the deep end. The shallow end will be 1 metre deep, while the deep end will be 2 metres deep.
This swimming pool as at now is 6.2 metres in length, and 2.9 metres wide. But it will get narrower as we do more work on it.
I used his screed paste recently and when I ran out I ordered from Caplux. Nearly same quality. I also used a few outside too. Still withstanding the rain so far. Both better than cement mix for me.
Tport is the only issue with Gbadexy's products. But I like his paints too
spyder880: I must be frank with you, if not for distance and our difficult transportation situation, plus cost considerations, I will love to order your products and use on a building here in the East.
I have heard a lot about the high quality of your paints and POP paste and everyone cannot be wrong at the same time. You are also an encyclopedia where paints and resins are, so I am sure you know your work very well and your paints will be very durable. But we must work together soon, my use of Sharon is just because they are close and have depots all around the East for easier ordering and fast delivery.
Hello Sir I observed that you market quite a number of different brands of inverters. Don't you think that makes the choice by customers more difficult? Are there quality inverters with better warranty than others? I used a 1.5kva inverter at some point but its the batteries that have continued to pack up. They last about a year. The only solar system so far that has barely lasted for us is at the office where we used more panels (8 or so) with only 2 batteries as the offices close by 530-6pm.
So how can one know the cost effective battery brand(s)? Educate us on that.

Please does this proposed process make economic and aesthetic sense with the increase in cost of paint... Prime the screeded wall with two coats of emulsion with intermittent sandpapering and then apply one coat of satin. I ask to know if dodging two coats of satin makes any sense.
gbadexy: Screeding is done to give a smooth and soft layer on a plaster surface and it can be further sandpapered to give a smooth finish that regular cement plaster can't give. If you don't screed, nothing would happen as long as you aren't using paint with sheen but if you use correct matte with low sheen or silk and you don't screed or at least prime it to smoothen the surface, the reflection of light on the wall surface would highlight the roughness and other faults on the surface.
I think I agree with you based on my experience. Base coat ready mix putty hasnt shown any sign of peeling or cracking but the cement screed used to round up the work has peeled on exposure to weather. 4 months now
gbadexy: Most part of my experience comes from feedback from my painters and screeders who are actually on the field and encounter various challenges. My main screeder told me he doesn't like working with or building screeded with portland cement ( grey cement). He said after a couple of years, they tend to peel and fall off. They have tendency to crack also, especially if cheaply done with little p.v.a binder added. If sufficient extra binder is used, it would be better but then how is that much different from the basecoat. Only the filler in basecoat is replaced with little cement as the pop emulsion used to mix it also has basecoat filler. Cement needs proper hydration and certain thickness and with cement, pop emulsion and whateverbond, it would be applied light and I suspect dry fast without sufficient time to hydrate. Besides, I've stated it here severally that cement forms a chemical reaction with sand (silica) by gelling them. Both on the block surface and the plaster mix and they don't form any reaction with calcium carbonate in pop emulsion used to mix them. They just act as a further inert filler with the calcium carbonate in such capacity. It may hydrate itself and harden somewhat but there is little interaction with the pop emulsion used to mix it. The only thing holding it to the wall is the pva bond added and the amount used would determine the strength. I posted a building that was screeded close to six years before the owner decided to paint it as it was white and looked painted and was used as a reference point in the area ( white house). Perhaps p.o.p experts and screeders can shed more light to say if they have ever encountered basecoat cracking. It's what oyinbo people use in screeding!
Please is it double sheet? If yes which thickness? Very nice looking doors
rotecch77: HDF door are very good also, just make sure you sub-frame wood is perfectly done, then you are good to go. See the attached pics of the resent one that i used for my new office, very heavy and strong Total cost about 70k
Please why are we not also discussing the use of HDF double sheet as hardwood alternative for internal room doors? A handful of people use them and so far I have not heard any bad news.

I am about to transact some business with @Chizagi for some bath doors *Double panel American doors* purported to have a high water resistant ability.
I am starting with bath doors and if all goes well as he promised and he delivers just before this weekend, then more business and more clients may come his way.
He is transporting them from Lagos to Orlu at an agreed price.
I hope he gets a thumbs up from me and I shall return to tell you of the transaction later.
The proposed transaction with @chizagi couldn't go ahead as planned. He could not assure the delivery time for the doors as requested as the delivery van said they could have delays. I would not be around again to receive doors if the lead time was too variable. So the deal has been suspended for now. I might just have to source for the doors close by eg Onitsha
@spyder880 please any contact for me at Ogidi market?

chizagi: I wish to take total responsibility for the varience in design for the doors i supplied to @3him3n, this is a mistake, an avoidable mistake. I promise to do better next time, to ensure that the exact design requested is the exact design supplied. I also want to request that in the spirit of one love that @3him3n deletes the initial post with details of the transaction.
Thanks to everyone that showed concern and made effort to resolve this matter, God bless us all.

Jasobry: I'm trying to put up something different from the conventional bricks... Using broken Spanish or China floor tiles, cut into bricks sizes for my pillars.. I chose black with gold effects.. using white coloured pigments cement. Hope it comes out well
Please do share the image of the idea and the outcome. Won't it look like the normal brick tiles people use for pillars? I am interested in cobble stones it does not seem to be used much around the East
chizagi: ok, you can use American panel for the bathroom, or you can also use original turkey pvc door for bathroom. my own original american panel door is 23k, while the original turkey pvc door is 49k
